There is a 3 year separation when they meet again, and my heart was heavy with all the abuse the heroine suffered at the hands of her father.Their comming together was frantic and sexy in the backseat of his SUV.
I enjoyed this book and this series as a whole and hope that Father Dominic gets a book.
The epilogue was beautiful as they are about to be married on a beach in Jamaica surrounded by their family, friends,and newly found son.

The Underboss by Piper Stone is Book 3 of Ruthless Empire Series. This is the story of Christiana Lorenzo 'Chrissy' and Francesco Arturo. Francesco father Tony Arturo was murdered. This lead to his father friend Maxwell Powers took over the Don position. In addition Francesco friend had been killed in a shootout. Francesco is now the Underboss of the Arturo-Poweres family. Francesco happens to meet Chrissy one night when he almost hit her. Chrissy was on the run from her awful father when she meets Francesco. They have a instant connection and share a hot encounter. Both think their lives are to dangerous for the other which leads to them leaving each other. But Francesco has never forgotten Chrissy and when in their present day he learns she is being forced to marry the enemy he goes forward to take action to get her back. Enjoyed.

Francesco Arturo is the underboss of the mafia in New York. His godfather has been training him for years to become the next Don. They were at war with another mafia who was trying to make moves in their territory when the book started. Francesco has a run-in with Christiana when he almost hits her with his car. She was running away from her father since he was going to force her into a marriage with a creepy older man to get him more power in his mafia. She asks Francesco for a night of passion so she can lose her virginity since her future husband wants a virgin. They have a wild night together but end things there due to his current mafia war. A few years have passed, and now Christiana is being forced into another marriage with Francesco’s enemy. Francesco has been trying to find her for years when this new marriage brings her back into his life, and he refuses to lose her again.
Wherever you go, I will find you. If that takes the rest of my life, then you will be mine. Hear me, Christiana. Your fate was sealed the day you walked in front of my car. You are mine. Always mine.”
This had a great mafia plot, dealing with a lot of mafia politics and intrigue. This is the first book I have read by Piper Stone, and I really enjoyed her writing. I was sucked into this world and appreciated all the side characters.
I did have a few issues, but these are mostly because they are my pet peeves in romance books. I have issues with instalove and the whole sexually adventurous virgin thing. Christiana is a virgin, yet they literally have sex multiple times in one night, which is never realistic. They also do butt play, and I find that hard to believe. I don’t really know any woman who would be open to that their first time having sex. They also fell in love from a one night stand, and I didn’t like that. After their one night stand they spend a lot of the book apart and I just wished there was more development with them getting to know each other and falling in love, instead of them falling in love in one night.
Otherwise, this book had a good mafia plot and some great twists and surprises. I found the author’s writing easy to read, and I am interested in reading the previous books.

Part of the Ruthless Empire series each can be read as a standalone with an overprotective sexy and the women he claims rather she wants to be claimed or not so hang on and double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Francesco sexy as all get out underboss to the mafia in NY being trained by his godfather for years to become the next don at war with another family who wants to take their territory by force but they do not know who they are up against he is ruthless when needed, deadly every day, protects those he loves, will dies or kill for them, and when he nearly hits the feisty girl who is on the run changes his life. Christana is a sweetheart but a force to be reckon with she runs when her father tries to set up with a forced marriage to an old creepy just to gain more power she when she runs into the beautiful man she asks for one night him to lose her v-card just to keep a little of her own power especially since her future husband is demanding a virgin but little did she know she left a lasting impression on him just one wild night together but he knew he needed to walk away especially with a war brewing and she had to return to her father she got herself out of that arranged marriage. Fast forward her father has arranged yet another marriage for her to another creepy man and this time she can’t run but her heart belongs to one man but finding him has proved to be a challenge until she is set to marry his enemy and he wasn’t going to allow that to happen. Francesco tried finding her for three years finally her engagement party to one Dante Bianchi his enemy finding out she was sold for five million dollars isn’t going to happen and her father would pay for his crimes against his girl but will his enemy let her go so easily, will they fight for their happiness, will her father get what’s coming to him, will they make up for lost time, and can they finally have the happiness that was meant to be?

Terrific Mafia Romance
Oh yeah this is a Mafia Romance and it so good that I read it in just a few hours one morning. Chrissy was to be sold to an older man in a Mafia arranged wedding, but she ran and then she met the love of her life Francesco who was also a Mafia guy. They had a few precious hours together and then they parted. Three years later they meet again. There is smutty scenes and Danger and then at the last there is a really nice HEA.

He definitely wanted to stalk the church to see if it was her. There was some rumblings in the street about Dante's upcoming wedding and when he crashed his engagement he saw that it was in fact his little dove and knew he wasn't leaving without her, he couldn't afford to lose her again. But she ran after she heard who he really was and believed that he was no better than her father or Dante. But Francesco put some of his men on her tail to follow her to see where she was staying.
He bombard her at the church and after he explained everything they took a drive together by the pier where they made passion love in the SUV. She wanted to go with him because she's under watch in a locked room with an ankle monitor and being physical abused by her father and Dante because she doesn't toe the line. Christiana had a son for Francesco two and half years prior and her dad dropped her son off at a church and told her that her son was still-born. But when he wanted her to marry Dante so that his deal would go forward he showed her a picture of her son telling her that he was still alive and that if she wanted to see him again that she would have to marry Dante. When Francesco found out that he had a son he immediately started to search for him while they put forth a plan to eradicate the Bianchi as well as her dad. It would be a shootout at the church when Francesco goes to get his little bird killing the last son of Roberto Bianchi and spending her dad to prison. And yet again he was betrayed by someone in his organization. Did Francesco and Christiana found their son? Did they get their HEA? Is Francesco ready to be the new Don since Maxwell is retiring earl? A beautiful finish to the series.

This book was so bad it was actually laughable. I was literally laughing my way through this book. It is honestly the only reason I did not DNF this book. It was so hilariously bad.
What was the book about? Honestly, who cares, you shouldn’t read it anyway.
I have never read a book that sounds like it was written by a child more than this one, including actual book written by children. Just wow. The voice of this book sounds like middle school me who had never been with a boy trying to describe a romantic and sexual experience. It was not at all sexy. I actually started writing down quotes because I couldn’t stop laughing. Sadly, I didn’t write down the best, most cringey ones because I thought it was just one instance of awkward phrasing but it definitely wasn’t. Here are just a selection of quotes that really stood out to me within the course of less than 10 pages (and you should really be reading these in the voice of your younger self trying to lower your voice a few octaves to play the part of your Barbie’s love interest):
1. The hero says to the heroine: “‘I’ve waited far too long for this moment, my sweet lady. I want you. I need you. I will have you.’”- I have honestly started to chuckle just writing this quote. This is a mafia romance and the mafioso is calling a woman “my sweet lady.” Just lol. Also in the next line it says that he “reeked of passion” and I don’t know if I should be grossed out or amused.
2. The bad guy (and rival mafioso), after “killing” the hero says: “‘Francesco Arturo got what was coming to him. Finally. Now, I am the star of the family.’” -Lol the star of the family. Am I reading a telenovela?
3. The heroine says to the hero during a sex scene: “‘I’m a lioness now.’” and he responds with “‘Hmmm… That you are, lady’” - Just ick honestly.
There were SO MANY more awkward and ridiculous quotes in this book and I really could not get enough. It was a terrible book and it was completely impossible to sink into the story but if you need a good cheesy laugh, you should honestly read this book. I am laughing as I type this review.

Here are just a selection of quotes that really stood out to me within the course of less than 10 pages (and you should really be reading these in the voice of your younger self trying to lower your voice a few octaves to play the part of your Barbie’s love interest):
1. The hero says to the heroine: “‘I’ve waited far too long for this moment, my sweet lady. I want you. I need you. I will have you.’”- I have honestly started to chuckle just writing this quote. This is a mafia romance and the mafioso is calling a woman “my sweet lady.” Just lol. Also in the next line it says that he “reeked of passion” and I don’t know if I should be grossed out or amused.
2. The bad guy (and rival mafioso), after “killing” the hero says: “‘Francesco Arturo got what was coming to him. Finally. Now, I am the star of the family.’” -Lol the star of the family. Am I reading a telenovela?
3. The heroine says to the hero during a sex scene: “‘I’m a lioness now.’” and he responds with “‘Hmmm… That you are, lady’” - Just ick honestly.
There were SO MANY more awkward and ridiculous quotes in this book and I really could not get enough. It was a terrible book and it was completely impossible to sink into the story but if you need a good cheesy laugh, you should honestly read this book. I am laughing as I type this review.

Brilliant !
This is the 3rd book within this series and it was absolutely fantastic...I was hooked from the start.
The audiobook which is superbly narrated by Thomas Lockclear and newbie to me Delaney Dawson.They are both excellent telling this story to their audience,it was smooth,clear and full of emotion.I am a huge Thomas Lockclear fan and he never ever disappoints me but continues to leave me in Awe with his talent.
Delaney Dawson really impressed me and I loved listening to her with her accents and expressive voice.
From the start of this series I have been intrigued by Francesco Arturo..we first meet him as teenager 18 years old in book one and he is very angry and impulsive.Until Max makes him Underboss and he has to learn how to control his actions and take responsibility at a young age.
Now he his a man.
All Man and is an excellent ruthless underboss enemies plague them especially the Bianchi family,they were responsilble for the loss of his friend and he wants revenge.
Christiana is a young woman with an abusive father and she is being forced to marry a man she does not know and who is much,much older than her.
She escapes and runs straight into the arms of Francesco..
They spend one passionate and unforgettable night together,but Francesco lets her go as his world is a dangerous one,and Chrissy disappears.
3 years pass by and they both cannot forget that one night...The Bianchi's are still a thorn in Francesco's side even trying to assassinate MAX their Don and Francesco's brother in Law...Almost killing him and his Capo in the process.
Then word gets out that Dante Bianchi is due to marry and his bride is Chrissy.
Chrissy even after 3 years is still being threatened by her father and having to obey him,she is being sold by her father to Dante and this time she sees no escape.(Her Father is a horrible character and I was so angry with his mistreatment and greed).
This story is so riveting and totally thrilling and has so many surprises.
I felt so bad for Chrissy and the life she had to endure,her savior was Francesco in every way he keeps rescuing her from her fathers deals. It was quite emotional in some places...when it went back and replayed to that passionate night and when they parted ways.
This is Love at first sight.
But could they have a second chance at Love when Chrissy is to marry someone else ,another powerful man,and how would Francesco feel about her secret,A secret with a tragic ending or so Chrissy was thought to believe.
I loved seeing Francesco evolve from boy to man and I adored the man he became very determined and loving he never gives up to fight for Chrissy.
I really enjoyed this Mafia romance the whole series has been totally Amazing,I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Piper Stones stories get better and better with each book she creates.

This is a wonderful love story with romance, desire, passion, steamy scenes, secrets, action, violence and much more. After Francesco's father ( Tony Arturo ) had been murdered his father's best friend Maxwell Powers became the Don. Francesco became the Underboss of the Arturo-Powers family. Francesco's friend Joey was killed in a shoot out and also their enemy Stefano Bianchi. This will bring the Bianchi syndicate down on them. One rainy night as Francesco was driving his Maserati he had to swerve to miss someone. A rain soaked beautiful woman stood before him. This is the start of their beautiful attraction. All they knew was each others first name Chrissy and Francesco. He told her that he was a bad man. He could see that she had a bruise on her face, but she would not tell him who did it. Chrissy wanted a night to enjoy and feel alive, to forget all the bad things. She is eighteen and wants to give herself freely to Francesco. Francesco didn't know that her father was going to sell her to a older man to marry. After all the time they have spent together Chrissy wants to be his, but he thinks she doesn't need to be in his dangerous world and she doesn't want him to be hurt. Francesco should keep his little dove, but instead he lets her fly away. Three years later they see each other at Cristiana's engagement party. This is my first time reading from Piper Stone and what have I missed?
I've got to read her book as an ARC reader, and it was worth every minute, every hour, every teardrop, and every little smile.
We got Francesco, who secretly desired what his friend and sisters already had. A family of his own, but being who he is, he never thought he deserved something like this. Until Christiana happened.
Christiana was an innocent girl, who gave him her most precious possession, and as suddenly as she appeared, also as suddenly she vanished from his life. Leaving emptiness in his heart.
She spent only a passionate night with Francesco and fell in love. But their love couldn't last because of either of their circumstances.
When they meet after 3 years, their passion is still sizzling hot. Their love has resurfaced, and their bond is out of this world. Second chances are rare, but they have got a say in their faith.
This story showed 2 people who cared so deeply about each other, to let each other go and not taint each other's world with their mess.
I loved how Francesco changed along the way. His hardheaded personality caused problems, especially for himself. He was impatient but the Don's teaching slowly shaped him. His personality was totally different when he was with Christiana. And it wasn't just passion, but he truly felt connected to her.
Christiana's character development showed a fierce personality. I loved her defiance toward her father and her fiance. She had her vulnerable moments but she almost never showed this to them. I loved her fighting spirit, even after she thought she lost, she kept finding solutions for herself.
Although Francesco dominated her in the bedroom, she challenged him every time. Their pairing was match-made because even though she was innocent when they first met, she loved being in Francesco's arms, in his lap, and under him and riding him... :)
The last 2 chapters I wept through. Those emotions, those understandings, Christiana's second heartbreak, and Francesco's inner turmoil, how he was able to choose wisely.
There was teasing from his family, and sometimes it was really hilarious. And there were those moments with his little dove. No matter what happened, their connection was a perfect fit.
I loved reading this story, and I am extremely grateful to be able to get it.

I really wanted to love this story, but it fell a little short for me. I love mafia books, and I enjoyed the storyline and the characters but there was so much internal dialogue at times, I felt my mind drifting while reading it. Also, having a scared 18 year old virgin magically become this vixen in the bedroom was a bit of a stretch. I appreciate that it was from Fransisco's perspective, and he had an immediate connection with her, but it felt a little over the top.
I did enjoy the storyline and there were some great twists and turns. Francecso had some great personal growth as he was preparing to take over as Don. He was still dealing with some demons surrounding his father's death. Christiana was tough and a fighter and she never gave up hope. The ending was very sweet and definitely satisfying.

A simply wonderful read filled with love, cruelty, murder and death but see how it ends
This was a story that’s when a father sells his daughters innocence to pay his gambling debts but she is able to escape and ensures that this is no longer an asset he can sell. That night she is rescued by Francesco and they have one night of passion where both their lives are dramatically changed.
Three years on and the Bianchi’s have tried to kill another member of his family again and it is obvious that there is something in motion, then there is an attempt on Francesco and he hears from his dearest friend about a woman that came to confession, she had been beaten and was about to be forced in to a marriage to pay her father’s debt.
Francesco has a feeling like someone dancing on his grave and knows it is too much of a coincidence and he has to see if the woman is his Christina, he will not lose her again and he knows that they made a connection and he has to see he and speak with her. When he discovers it is her and that once again she has been beaten by her father and the monster Bianchi she has been sold off too, he is going to make her his own and will never be without his heart ever again.

Beautiful love shared on a one night stand that led them back to each other three years later.
Francesco had a lot of growing up to do when his father was murdered. His godfather became the Don of the New York Costa Nostra which Francesco felt he should have position. After his best friend was murdered by the eldest son of the Bianchi family he was angry and he killed the guy who murdered his friend. It almost caused a war between the Autumn-Powers family. On Christiana’s eighteenth birthday her father had arranged for her to marry an old guy. She realized that her father never cared about her and she was only a pawn to be used by him as he tried to gain more power. On the night she was supposed to get engaged she ran. It was a powerful thunderstorm and she ran in front of Francesco’s car. After talking to her for a few minutes he figured she was in trouble but she would give him but a little information cause she felt she had to protect him not knowing who he truly was. She just wanted to feel alive and she gave him her most cherished gift. They enjoyed their night together. He wanted to keep her but he knew the war was brewing and he didn’t want her hurt. She felt she had to go back so she could protect him. They both had fallen in love with each other. Three years later they met again at what was supposed to be her engagement party to Francesco arch enemy. Francesco and Christiana knew they had to be together. The Underboss is the story of Chrissy and Francesco. Chrissy’s father has sold her off to marry another mafioso. When she realises what he’s done and that her own father has put a price on her virtue, she makes a run for it, running straight into the arms of Francesco. Recognising the darkness in him but also seeing the appeal, she agrees to one night of passion, and it is definitely passionate. Then she returns to her life and leaves Francesco behind. Their one night of passion has definitely made an impression on both of them. Neither of them was able to forget the night they spent together. They both love each other after that one night, and it’s an all-encompassing kind of love, but they are lost to each other. Three years pass, and she is thrust back into Francesco’s life again as her father again attempts to marry her off, this time to Francesco’s enemy, so when he spots her at her engagement party, he promises she is his, and this time he’s not going to let her go.
Although Chrissy and Francesco's relationship is intense, passionate, and fiery, I really liked that the majority of the book focused on the mafia aspects of the plot, from betrayal and war to retribution and redemption, rather than just on them as a couple. The events happening around them were just as important. The story took some unexpected twists and turns that I enjoyed; there were times when I questioned if everything the characters were saying was true or not, leading me to be eager to read on and find out.

Through these scenes Ms. Stone captures her readers’ attention allowing them to feel like they are eyewitnesses to the inner workings and threats of a crime family. The sex is a bit raw. Despite that this was a captivating read.

When they meet up again, we learn of Christiana’s fate as well as the love these two both have. Her father is an evil man. Not once caring for his daughter. And Francesco learns about himself through his friends eyes. They see the longing and his need to find peace. You have to love a man that will fight anyone that hurts his dove. The story was hot and the action was intense at times. You weren’t sure if things were going to be ok or we had to duck.

Three years later they meet up again, but Christiana has been sold again, this time to Dante Bianchi, a cruel heir to his father's empire, an empire that Francesco has a history with and one that is starting a power play to get back into New York. Francesco is determined to save her but her father has something over her forcing her to do as he says and when Francesco finds out what it is, all bets are off and the Bianchi family will not know what hit them, not with the Arturo-Powers empire behind him and despite the betrayal from within. This book will have you literally on the edge of your seat. This dark, hot and steamy read is full of drama and action and everything you can expect from a book by Piper Stone. I love it and highly recommend it.

Book 3 is every bit as good as the first two books. With explicit scenes and suspense filled moments Piper has written another great dark mafia romance. Christina has come of age. Raised by her single father, she never expected him to sell her off to pay his debts off. Christina escapes wishing for a knight in shining armor, but all she finds is a handsome, hot, virile man driving a sports car in the rain. The Underboss is about a hero, Francesco, and heroine, Christiana, who met for one night and lost contact with each other for years. Francesco searched for Christiana but could not find her trace after she disappeared and the she was going through her own family drama.
This was more than any other Dark mafia book out there. Francesco knew what he wanted and he went after it. Christiana was not a spineless pushover just because Francesco was an alpha male. The book was well written. I felt that there were no loose ends by the end of the book because everything that needed to be resolved was.
The epilogue in Francesco point of view was really cute. That imagery left me smiling so hard. I am so glad the Piper Stone did not end the book with unnecessary heartbreak. Overall this was an enjoyable quick read, I finished it in one sitting. I found it impossible to drop the book for even a minute. This book does have a HEA.

Christiana came to hard realization on her 18th birthday that her father never loved her and she was always a pawn for him to get more power in the mafia world. Francesco was leaving a brutal evening when his best friend was murdered and he in turn murdered the guy who did it and started a war. Christiana and Francesco spend the night together as she gives him the one thing she feels she has control over in her life, her body. Francesco falls into instalove with her but sends her away as to not destroy her.

I think out of the whole series this my favorite one we get to see the annoying disrespectful boy from book 1 all grown up now! I the circle of friendship between all the men and willingness to help especially when it comes to their own or women and children. The main characters has been obsessed drew in from the moment they met the electric everywhere you better be careful not to get caught in spark fire! This book as lots reasons to explore plus to get hopeless lost in time crime thriller, unpredictable betrayal, page turner, action packed, strong female role with lots of headstrong. I can’t believe some of craziness that some side characters do I want punch them and them some I’m very happy how things turned out. Mystery suspense and shocking feelings come into play if you like to highest bidder, mafia, don’t take no for an answer, arrange marriage and so much more this is the book for you! I for one couldn’t get enough non put it down I was so worried it’s for sure keep you on the edge of your seat!. A steamy ride with amazing fun main characters

The Underboss is book #3 in the Ruthless Empire mafia series. I didn't even get through the first chapter before I realized I needed to listen to books 1 and 2 first. I'm so glad I did (I hate spoilers) because this series is amazing. Francesco's story was intense, angsty, and filled with plot twists, suspense, and that steamy yearning from a ONS that he couldn't get over or forget. Christiana goes from being a naive 18yo to a law intern put into yet another arranged marriage after being blackmailed by her father. Loved Priest Dominic and Francesco's right-hand Kayman (sp?) as they keep Francesco from self-destructing. All the characters from the previous books are included bringing the alpha-ness and banter to a new level. This can definitely be a standalone, but if your FOMO is like mine, do NOT miss this series!
The narration is incredible. Thomas Locklear and Delaney Dawson perfectly voiced Francesco and Christiana. The heartbreak, the passion...these two brought it all to their performance. Loved, loved, loved this duo. 5/5 stars! 🌟

The Underboss is book 3 in Piper Stone’s Ruthless Empire series. What is there to say about a Piper Stone book. The writing is excellent, and the characters are ones who draw you in. Before you know it, you are invested in both them and the story. Francesco and Christiana are given a second chance at developing the relationship started three years earlier. A one-night stand yes, but one where the connection is palpable and promising. However, Francesco, perhaps because of who and what he was raised to become, is cold, ruthless, and unable (or unwilling) to acknowledge the “softer” feelings. Once they meet again, however, and after he acknowledges that he has loved Christiana since that night three years ago, he becomes someone the reader can wholeheartedly support. Christiana, meanwhile, has been steadily working towards the day when she would be independent of her father and able to live her own life. And then, in one day, her life becomes a nightmare.

This is absolutely one click worthy, and while it may be read as a stand alone, it is best read as part of the series.

Usually when there are multiple books in a series some will be better than others. It isn’t often I can honestly say every book is five stars. While I’m not completely positive this is the last book in this series it feels like it might be. If so, then it wins the prize. All three books are five star reading and I adored every one of them.
This book is Francesco‘s love story. We met him in book one when he and his sister came under the care of new Mafia Don, Maxwell Powers. I always liked him and I’m so happy he found the right woman to love, even if their journey is filled with complications and heartache. Christiana actually broke my heart. Her life was so sad and terrible. She truly deserved love and her HEA. Great book! Fantastic series! Best to read them in order, though, as there are tons of spoilers for the other books in this one.
