To fight the monsters, sometimes you have to become one yourself.

For as long as I can remember, I've been silent, ensuring my secrets remain buried in the depths of my soul. I lived the perfect life my brother set up for me, with a family I adored, never letting them see what was beneath the surface.

It was all perfect, or so it seemed. But deep down, I've always known I am the harbinger of destruction and death, leaving a trail of ruin in my wake. Everything I touch seems to die.

Family… Friends… People… Souls.

I can feel myself losing the battle, the dark thoughts and bloodlust creep ever closer to the surface. So when I hear about the murders happening at Silverwood University, I decide it’s time I do something good by being the worst kind of beast possible. The monster that frightens all others.

Of Bone & Ash is the first book in the Silverwood University Series and DOES end on a cliffhanger. This is a university-aged, Paranormal RH romance which means there will be no choosing between love interests at the end of the story.

The contents of this book may be triggering to some readers. This is a slow/med-burn dark romance and is intended for adults only.

Warnings for the series include: Physical Violence between main characters, Adult Language, Childhood Mental & Physical Abuse/Trauma, Self Harming Behavior & Thoughts, Suicidal Ideation, Explicit Death Scenes, Pain Kink, Mild Stalking, Eating Disorder, and Explicit Sex Scenes.

Hated Serafina and her guys

Hated Serafina, I was looking forward to the author writing about Kayla story possibly I wasn't very invested in Serafina. She does not interest me. I didn't want to hurt the author's feelings because she did say that that's her favorite FMC. But I had no interest in her at all. We were invested in the two other women in the Black Veil University series Kayla being one of them. And then the other forgot her name though but the guys in her harem would have been sole and Gabe's brother. I was very invested in those two situations and we read them through all of the Black Veil universities Serafina was just a child and was maybe in the last two books of that series of Black Veil. So I was not very interested. We already read about Gabe and his trials through life with his gifts. I wasn't very interested in a woman version of him. It would be cool to read about a vampire FMC. Or the other FMC who had superpowers that she could not control. They had to do with storm Magic. Those are unique and that we haven't read them before. But we just got another version of Gabe because we couldn't get enough of him and the black fell which I did love gate at the end but I think there wasn't enough books to satisfy my love for him because he didn't get with the harem until the last two books. So Serafina I have zero interest in knowing who she is. Maybe I would have if you read Kayla's story. It just wasn't very unique for me it was just a book about everybody hating everybody it was stupid. And this girl Serafina her trauma makes zero sense because Gabe saved her at 6 years old and then they brought her up together in their family till she was 18. With love and affection and caring and everything that had to do with a loving family so she was abused the first 6 years of her life but she turned out a mega itch.? I understand she can't let anybody near her but does she have to be a mega itch? And all the guys don't want nothing to do with her either? Just not interesting. Not unique to read about people who hate each other and who should not be together.

I binge read the Black Veil University series and absolutely loved it. Of Bone and Ash is Seraphina's story, set thirteen years later. It took me longer to really get into the story than in other B.M. Clemton books, in part because of all secrets that are being kept by Seraphina and by her family and potential mates, mostly with the goal of protecting each other.

Seraphina is a closed off, self-isolated character that took me longer to connect with, however as I got to understand her character, she came alive for me. My one issue with her family was that they didn't recognize how deeply the trauma of Ryland leaving and cutting off communication with her, affected
Seraphina.

This book was a different reading experience for me compared to the Black Veil University series as I couldn't immediately start the next book. The potential mates, aside from Teo, aren't particularly likable at the point. I'm still feeling some anger at the way Ryland purposely hurt Seraphina when he left. So many questions are left unanswered, mysteries to be unraveled, and relationships to be developed. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

FYI: For the best reading experience, read the Black Veil University series first.

Ona cały czas gdzieś od kogoś ucieka. Dzieje się dużo, że ledwo nadążam. Chyba nawet za dużo, jak na mój gust i jakoś ciężko mi się odnaleźć w tym chaosie.

I have some conflicting thoughts. Spoilers obv.

Alright. So I want to start by saying I wish we had less recap. As someone who read and loved the previous series I'm not sure we needed the level of repeating that we did. Of course if you are a new reader I get it, but maybe just put a disclaimer to read the first book first.

Moving on from that can I say I love Fina? The black cat vibes is what I needed in a main character. I really enjoyed her narrative, her struggle, and her pushing forward to make new choices.

The guys:
Adam? Because I think he's one of them and we are just going to get a speech about how he's awkward and only cares for neva as a friend? I like his character though I can't help but think he's connected in some way to the student that is helping the demons if I read that correctly.

Ambrose-wow this guy sucks. I'm not sure how she is going to redeem his personality because his essential bigotry towards others isn't really my cup of tea. You can be mean to the main character, no qualms but some of the borderline sexist inner commentary coupled with his I'm going to go as far to say racism is not for me.

Ryland- I guess I went into this book thinking we would start with their story because it's where we left off with the previous series, and when we didn't really get that I will say I was disappointed. We gear up for them as mates and him leaving and being dramatic to only have a glimpse into it. I wanted more, and I wanted more from his POV. We didn't get to know him well before and at the moment we really haven't learned much.

Teos-
No notes. Gotta love a good golden retriever character. Love it. I also have to say her losing the v card to him through me off. I guess I wanted that closure with ryland not with teos.

Darius-
We don't have a ton to go on with him because he was a late POV addition but obviously he'll be the focus of the next books beginning as her captor.

Plot.
This was another reason this got a lower star rating than I initially anticipated. We get caught up in some boring situations and don't automatically come back to the overall demon plot. At one point when listening about the fertile females and they list of specific numbers and it takes up a majority of the page I glazed over and asked myself why I need to know this information in such detail. Fina is on the outskirts of the plot I think is the problem for me. I'm used to the main character being a part of the "inner circle" and this book still has the Covington's as the inner circle making the decisions and not giving us insight.

So all of my dislikes of this book are of course plot devices to make changes happen later in the books so I'll try and hold off my dislike. Also I probably wouldn't have read the book if I realized the next one doesn't release until May 2025.

First off I could not put this book down. I read the whole thing in one day. It was just absolutely amazing. I was so excited to see that my hunch about her was correct too. When I was reading the Black Veil university books and Dani and Gabe found Fina after the attack I remember thinking she was going to be a reaper and her she is in all her glory. I just adored her so much in the first books. Gabe just loved her so much and really the whole family just adored her. I loved reading about her with the family then and was so excited to see her get her own series.
My heart just breaks for her though as she has been through so much and feels like she has to hide from everyone even her own brothers. We meet her now all grown up and heading off to Silverwood to try and help find out what is happening to these girls. She does not expect to run into four of her potential mates (although she hasent figured out that’s what they are to her yet). We have of course Ryland the dragon shifter she grew up with (my absolute favorite). When I saw the reason he left I was conflicted. It was a good reason but he excited it all wrong. Can’t wait to see his redemption. I’m sure it’s going to be amazing. Next we have Teos someone from her past that she didn’t expect to see in this new school. He is obsessed and is not letting her go again. Amell her professor who is more than he seems. I’m excited to learn more about him and know he’s going to eventually just melt our hearts. Finally the mysterious guy Darius who shows up out of nowhere. Again there is this link to him but we won’t learn more till the end of the book. I’m excited to see more about him as well. I cannot even express how excited I was to see old characters like Atlas and Ryland show up and we get to learn more about them. I’m sure more will be coming in the future books and I am looking forward to that. It was an extra treat to hear them speak of Dani, Gabe and the rest of the family even though we don’t get much but I’ll take it anyways lol. It just makes me so happy to see the story continuing. I cannot express how much I loved the Black Veil books and I am absolutely sure I’m going to love this series just as much with the way this book has started us off.

Of Bone and Ash by B.M. Clemton

This book has some high standards to live up to. Black Veil University, the previous series set in this universe, is in my top 3 favourite reverse harem/why choose series ever, and there’s very few that can compare to it. Luckily, this book gives it a really good go and mostly succeeds.

Set 13 or so years after Black Veil University, the book follows the story of Serafina, the little sister of Gabe and Atticus, who is now all grown up. Abused and experimented on by her father until her old brothers rescued her when she was six, Fina is a rare Reaper with some added dark magic extras she keeps hidden from everyone.

Now aged 20, she’s transferred schools to go to Silverwood University, hidden in the forests and mountains of Romania, to help investigate the serial killing of teenaged girls. What she doesn’t realise is that two familiar faces from her past are also there, dragon shifter Ryland (adopted son of her Uncle Zane) and phoenix shifter Teos who she accidentally killed with her reaper powers via a kiss when she was a teenager. Throw into the mix the grumpy angel Amell (who is also one of her professors) and the mysterious Darius and her love life is about to get explosive, never mind the fact she’s trying to investigate the murders and get through day to day college life.

Fair warning, this book ends on a massive cliffhanger. I was literally 😮 at the end, talk about a mic drop moment, and having to wait a year for the next book is going to be a killer!

I read this book pretty much in one go, I couldn’t put it down, my heart broke for Fina and the secrets she’s kept for everyone and also wanted to give Ryland a smack with the clue bat. Teos is an absolute cinnamon roll sweetheart and I adore him.

(I received an ARC of this book, but it is my honest review).

Format: 📱 eBook 📱

Check the TW's as this is darker than Clemton's previous books.

I highly, highly recommend reading Clemton's Black Veil University series before this one. Fina is first introduced in that series, and I feel it gives a fantastic basis for the world which Clemton has created (and is an amazing series in its own right). Her world of fae (shifters, reapers, witches, angels and demons) continues so seamlessly into this spinoff series.

I've always been intrigued about Fina since her introduction in BVU, and I was so psyched when her series was announced, and even more joyed when I started reading. She has been through so much trauma and heartache, and with the prologue and the flashbacks we read, her pain and trust issues are palpable.

You really go through the whole rollercoaster of emotions as you read this one. Its action packed, its heartbreaking; its romantic and full of slow burn goodness that culminates in a small amount of yummy spice. It's full of mystery and intrigue and so many bombshells that even I didn't see coming. There were also some great moments of humour - bunny scene, anyone? - and also some fledgling found-family moments.

I was here for it all, and I love that we delved more into Fina's character and her story. The men we're introduced to - which I won't dive into too much for spoilers sake - are all perfectly matched for her, and I cannot wait to see how this misfit group become what I hope to be an amazing family.

This one definitely ends on a cliffhanger that had me blankly going "what?!" a la David Tennant, and now I'm gonna sit here praying Clemton releases the next book sooner rather than later. This is yet another fantastic read from Clemton; I've yet to read a book that I haven't completely adored from her.

Hot Damn

B.M Clemton just did it again! I was in a serious book slump and didn’t want to read anything on my TBR pile when I stumbled upon this new book she released. I’m not a huge fan of spin offs but this one was 20 years past black veil so we got a whole new set of characters in their adult age even though it’s about Gabriel’s little sister who is all grown up now. I loved how bad ass she turned out to be. Super confident and despite her crusty disposition she cares about people. We got to learn about her from her point of view as well as a few of the guys that hang around her. Ryland the crusty alpha dragon who broke her heart when he left 3 years before, Teos the phoenix who she almost killed with a kiss before he came of age with immortality, and Amell, the super grumpy Angel, who can’t believe he’s tied to her as his soul mate, since he’s such a Pompous prick. Cant forget Darius, the other reaper with a red cloak, who is part of the reason why all these dead girls keep showing up. It drove me mad to read his point of views and learning what they are doing to these girls, including the babies that they are forced to have from being raped, thankfully we don’t get to read any of that, just that it was happening to build their army. No one else knows besides these Hell princes and that ending, man it broke my heart to see her captured and bound with a simple needle filled with binding her magic. She runs into danger because she’s over confident and it’s going to break the guys. Teos especially since she left him at his dorm and left a shield over the doors not allowing anyone to leave. I can’t wait till May 2025!! Guess I’m gonna have to re read the old series Black Veil if I need a pick me up because that series was incredible too.

Although I’m unhappy with the state of things, I don’t think it’s fair for me to give this a score yet. I’m going to wait until the next book comes out before I finish this one.

I’ve got some completely irrational but extreme issues when it comes to certain things while reading, and I try to acknowledge that they’re ridiculous. I can’t be holding things against a story just because I need therapy. Or whatever. Cheating, abandonment, and grief are my primary problems, with neither of the first two making an ounce of sense. Doesn’t matter. I don’t make the rules.

All this to say that I can’t finish this book until I have access to closure on the Ryland front. He has the potential to be problematic in at least two of my aforementioned areas. He states that he loves her in the first chapter, so I need to know why he left and if he’s been involved with OW since then. Other reviews state that their relationship doesn’t get addressed in this book and I can’t be wandering near triggers with no access to spoilers. I can forgive a lot as long as OW aren’t actively involved. Passively involved is fine (for example Teo’s friend).

I’ve enjoyed this authors other books and I don’t remember them being unsafe in this department, so I’m sure everything will work out fine.

This is all one big note to my future self explaining why I need to come back and look for the next book before finishing this one.

I don’t know what it is about this one that doesn’t grab me, but I think it is a combination of a slightly unlikeable FMC with a story that should have started in school or had multiple flash backs. The choice of Fina instead of the vampire BFF for a follow up series is a strange choice. I’m guessing it’s probably because the author would have to work around timelines from the first series to make it happen.
I was interested in the vampire and the girl who made storms from the first (Knight) series The very last person I was interested in was Fina who, despite Gabes declarations of caring, was pretty much farmed out to friend to look after or schools. So I was surprised when Finas book says she spent her childhood in her brothers home etc.
I found myself reading a few pages and then loose interest or skim over it which is unusual for me. The author has a tendency toward making side characters more interesting than the main ones and although I absolutely steamed through the Knight series I’m finding it hard to even finish this book and that’s with an hour and a half commute on public transport in the morning and back. I will try another series from this author because I did love the knight series but I’m not reading any more of this one.

If you’re looking for a sassy FMC, hot MMC’s, RH, fantasy, shifters, magic, super slow burn, DRAMA and SMUT with an actual story line…this book is for you!

This is Book 1 of the Silverwood University series, which is a spin-off of the Black Veil University series. I couldn’t wait for Fina & Rylands book to see how their relationship unfolds but I’m going to have to practice my patience because we still don’t know. Fina has had such a traumatic life that I think it may take all 4 books for her to completely unpack her trauma and be in a good standing with all her men…and boy does she have a collection of men.
🐉👹Ryland is an alpha dragon shifter with demonic magic whose dragon has claimed her as his mate but she doesn’t know and she currently hates him while he loves her.
🐦‍🔥Teos is a phoenix shifter who loved Fina at first sight, who’s phoenix also claimed her and she had no idea about that, but she pushed him away, for his safety, after she almost killed him. This is the only relationship that progresses as Teos is able to convince her after proving he can heal and rise from the dead.
🪽Amell is an Arc Angel who discovers Fina is his tether but he never wanted a tether and is pissed that Fina is his and she currently hates him because he has the power to help but refuses to.
👹💀Darius is a Royal Demon with Reaper magic who’s Soul Tie is Fina…only he hates her and she hates him because he’s the current villain in the story.

With that being said, all of her men are Possessive, Protective, Hot and powerful.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

My heart broke for Fina in the Black Veil University books, and it’s no less broken for her in her own series. Set a little over a decade after the Black Veil series, we’re reintroduced to Fina, now 20 years old, and still struggling to heal from the events of her childhood. Only, we weren’t told everything about what happened to her in the first series. As the story progresses, we learn more and more of what she went through, and I have to say, even as slightly unhinged as Fina can be, I’m actually surprised she’s still functioning as much as she is. The girl has been through more than anything anyone should have to experience, and although she’s a bit dark and twisty, she’s functioning. Along comes a familiar face, Ryland, and some new ones, Teos, Amell and Darius. I think we’re getting setup to have another amazing story told within the BVU universe, and this book has only scratched the surface. I have SO many questions that I need answered, and I have no idea how I’ll be able to wait another year for some answers!

BM has done it again!!! Honestly at t his point I will auto buy anything she does!

Let me preface this with the fact that I have been in a huge book slump where just nothing was getting me hooked. Know what I mean like that can’t eat can’t sleep can’t work I just need this book feeling? Well this one did it!

We are back in the world of Blackveil and oh how I missed it! This time though we are getting Seraphina’s story and I am here for it. Let me just say there is trauma so check your triggers!

One of my favourite t hi bugs that BM does is she writes trauma and it’s manifestation and progression in her characters sooooo well and she does it again here. Our FMC and her men are flawed and amazing and I can not wait to see them grow and work through everything together.

And the boys! *fans myself* I wasn’t sure how I could fall for anyone else in this universe after the Blackveil series ( seriously if you haven’t read it go do it while you wait for book 2 you will not regret it!) but damnnnn I’m already in love! I can not wait for more!

This one ends on a baby cliffhanger so while you are going to be dying for more cause it’s just that good you are not left hanging on for dear life.

Now I’ll just wait not so patiently for book 2

Amazing New Series!!!!!

I am absolutely in love with B.M. Clemton new book, Of Bone and Ash. I was instantly drawn in from page one, and I couldn't put it down until the end. The characters are amazing, and the connection to them is there from the start. This series is a continuance or spin-off from her Black Viel Academy series, so we do see past characters, and we get to see what happens with Fina. I love Fina. She is such a strong, fierce, and sassy woman now, and I love to see how she grew up. Though she has her trauma big time from the past, she is trying to work through it. This is such a wild ride, and it's all drama, trauma, spice, and mystery that keeps you guessing on what is going to happen next! Her guys, oh are they amazing, possessive, and hot, and I can't wait to see more of her together with them and see how they all get along with each other. This book does end with a cliffhanger for book 2, and please also check trigger warnings before starting book.

Man, this book is dragging. So far, we've only spent three days at the university.
What is very clear is that the author is in need of an editor or an ARC review team that will help them write dialogue. Sheesh, it's bad.

The book is supposed to have 376 pages. The above counts illustrate the following: 1. The authors lack of creativity in dialogue 2. How much dialogue there is in the book 3. How repetitive certain scenes are and the distinct lack of plot development.

This book was 100% YA, except for ONE scene with one of her anchors.

Also, the trope of "I hate you because of something your daddy did to me when we were children" is overdone and tiring.

I loved Gabe in BVU and have been eagerly awaiting this spin off with Serafina as the lead. I liked how complex Fina was; she truly believes she has the power to do very bad things and has to shoulder all this on her own. Fina is a really sympathetic character as she knows how much her family loves her but cutting herself off from those she cares about is the only way she feels she can keep them safe. Ryland is also a crossover character as is Atlas. I'm really hoping Atlas gets his happy ending too as his previous arc broke my heart.

Teo and Fina also have a history and her move to Silverwood puts her firmly in his path. Teo is the sweetest of the MMCs with Amell and Ryland are tied for alpha-hole position number one. My favourite so far though is Darius. The fist pump I did when I saw his POV! He reminds me a lot of Gabe and hands down delivered my favourite last line ever.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Of Bone and Ash was a great book but I have a few complaints...

My first complaint is that Teos should not have been Fina's first. Ryland was her first love. It doesn't seem right that Ryland wouldn't be her first. It just doesn't feel right to me. Another problem I have is that Fina was unwilling to just hear Ry out. She has every right to be pissed at Ry. If it was me I would have wanted to hear his reasons for leaving. Fina did exactly what Ry did to her with Teos which makes her a hypocrite. She said horrible, cruel things to Teos to protect him. That's exactly what Ry did. Teos was hot and an all-around good guy but he had this immaturity about him that I think took away from his character. One thing I can't stand when reading a book is the FMC referring to men as "boys". I only read books that are for mature audiences, so to have the Main characters using the term boys instead of men was irritating and just didn't sit right with me. I will be reading the 2nd book when it comes out.

i was so eager to get my hands on this book and it did not disappoint!

fina is probably one of my favorites fmcs… she’s stubborn and closed off but at the same time she cares so deeply and feels too much which makes you relate to her and understand why she is the way she is — you root for her happiness every damn page

this book is angsty, emotional, funny and so well written… the slow burn is real but honestly so much happens and she’s going through so much at the same time that you barely have the time to be looking for dicks

i loved all of the mmcs so far and i love that we have a totally different dynamic that Danica had in BVU… it feels more real, emotional, complex and yummy

we have a lot more things to discover on the next book and i’m excited to see where we’re headed…

the cliffie imo isn’t too bad — could’ve been way worse.. but it got me giddy to know more which means a job well done haha

5/5 for me :)

*arc* Whew, that was a lot. I read that straight through and didn’t want to put it down. Ok, so to start, definitely pay attention to the trigger warnings. The material is well written and not over the top, but I can definitely see how it could trigger some. The mmcs are “darker” and are also probably going to take a more open mind. HOWEVER, if you can get past that, honestly, I feel like even just one book in, that this was better than the Black Veil series, which I really enjoyed. Fina’s story kinda broke me a little, from page 1. We get a much more in-depth look into what she’s been dealing with all these years and I believe we’ll end up seeing even more. She definitely has lots of “brokenness”, but also such a strength to her and was enjoyable to read. I also really enjoyed seeing more of Atlas in this book and hope that some other familiar faces will be in the following books. Can’t wait to see where Fina’s predicament at the end of the book ends up!

B.M Clemton has done it again another absolute banger. although i was really excited for Finas book i was worried how that would effect the timeline of other characters stories however im very glad that fina was the first spin off series it felt like a natural progression not forced like i feared it would be. the author said she’s was a female version of Gabe and she’s exactly that but she’s has possessive mates to deal with when she’s trying to keep up her ice queen facade. safe to say i’m hooked and i can’t way for the next book the author is the queen of cliff hanger. i also loved some of the glimpses we’ve got of the black veil characters in this book and the family dynamic (Fina calling Dani to talk Gabe into something 😂) and hope we get to see more glimpses of them as the story possesses and i’d love to she the family’s reaction to Finas mates and everything else about Fina that she’s been keeping secret. This book also has trigger warning that definitely sell the book for me with the author stating that the future books contain biting kink, best believe i’m sold already.

As a big fan of this author, I expect big and wonderful things when I pick up one of her books. This does not disappoint! The story is set up and has great follow through. In Blackveil University we first met Serafina, and this is her story. We see other characters again from BU and meet a lot of new ones on the Silverwood University campus....which is in the middle of its own crisis.
This is a very slow burn series, so although a few men show interest in Fina, this is not the book to jump straight into intimate relationships. Our main character is broken and scared and she must learn to trust and have faith in those around her. This feels exactly right for her (and the story). To force things to move at a faster pace would feel off. What we do get is a lot of demons and we slowly learn what they are up to and why it's a big ol' problem.
The book reads so smoothly I found it hard to put down. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

This is the perfect spin off from BVU with the story of Serafina. We see Teos and Ryland again, with two others that are very unexpected. Serafina is sassy as ever and such a strong FMC, but she also pretty damaged from her tragic past. There are so many questions that are left unanswered by the end of this book with a huge turn of events on the last page. Her guys are possessive, over the top, and obsessed with her which I love. We see Atlas again and he is as demanding as ever trying to protect his sister Serafina, however she can totally stand all on her own. BM Clemton is one of my one click authors, with the start to this new series being no exception. I can't wait to see what happens next because that cliffhanger was a huge one that got dropped on us readers. Here is to hoping Serafina can be healed emotionally with the support of her men, and here is to hoping that Ryland can feel whole again and be redeemed after the big mistake that he made.

A good read

Serafina is the only female Reaper alive, and part of the Covington family. With all the power she has magical and otherwise she is broken and lonely. She transfers to Silverwood U to help investigate the many deaths of young women but life happens.

This book follows Serafina as she navigates new friendships and past relationships, and a coming demon war. I am enjoying Serafina’s story, but she has a death wish which has seriously made me think she is a spoilt, stubborn Reaper. Sometimes it was unbearable to read scenes where she was constantly hiding things and ignoring blatantly obvious things that needed to be followed up on.

I love the storyline and I hope Fina can be less secretive in the coming books, especially since she has a lot of people who care for her but refuses to let them help her or be there for her emotionally. I guess her father really did a number on her, but hopefully she overcomes most of that.

LOVED Fina's story

Do you need to read Black Veil University before reading this? Normally with interconnected series like this the answer is "no, but it's more fun if you do", however with this one I really feel like some readers may be a little lost about the dynamics of the world unless they read Black Veil University first. So personally, yes, I recommend you do.

I loved that Fina is a dark and damaged FMC. Typically when I read reverse harem books like this that type of character is reserved for one of the men to be the "broken one" but this time our FMC gets that role. Fina adds wonderful dimension to this story and I can't wait to see her continue to put her men through their paces. It's obvious she won't be a pushover and will continue to fight back when they are assholes.

Love love love! 5 stars!

I could not put this book down. Serafina has not had an easy life. At all. Saying she’s been through some things is an understatement. What she’s been through has shaped her to be the woman she is. She is sharp and has rough edges, but when she care about someone she cares so fiercely and deeply. I’m so excited to see where this journey takes her and see her embrace who she is meant to be. I can’t wait to see how her relationships progress and develop with the guys. I can see the different ways they will be there for her. Though I have to say Teos has stolen my heart. The way he made me giggle. I’m excited to get to know our mcs even more as the series goes and see how they grow together.

The fmc in this book does have a lot of past trauma that she does not use the healthiest ways to cope with it. Please make sure the read the content warnings.

I definitely loved Danica’s story but to now finally have the beginning of Serafina’s story, wow! To know what she had to endure when living under her father’s controlling and horrifying living conditions. He felt she was useless to her until he decided to take matters into his own hands and start using her as a lab test just like the other unfortunate children taken from their homes.
Thankfully Serafina’s brothers, Gabriel and Atlas, are able to take her away from their father and his evil plans. Unfortunately, they don’t realize it wasn’t before he had done evil things to make Serafina have reaper and demonic powers. I would have loved to see more development of her bonds between each man. I was expecting there to at least be more between Ryland and Serafina with the way things ended between them back home.

I love that she wears fancy, designer clothes (in all black). I love that she is powerful and full of creepy magic that makes people fear her. I like that the first friend she makes is a guy, and not an annoying girl roommate that is so cliche in every university/academy series.

I don’t like Teos, I found him overbearing and too much for the girl that doesn’t like to be touched. I also found it weird that she talks a lot? The blurb made it sound like she never speaks, but she talks the whole book? The author tries to balance that by making her drink lots of water, saying “she’s not used to talking” so her throat is sore. Not buying it. Just don’t have that as a “character trait” if you aren’t going to commit.

The next book doesn’t release till next year, which means I probably won’t even finish the series. You can’t have a cliffhanger like that, and expect people to still remember the book by the time the second comes out. I liked this book, but wouldn’t re-read it.

But it does deserve three stars because besides all the nitpicky stuff I wrote about , I did enjoy it

well worth the wait.

I was gutted I was delayed reading this book due to illness. Seraphina’s book did not disappoint! It had everything I needed from her. She stole my heart and I am not even angry about it. The book has B.M Clemtoms normal level of indenture, plot and dam
Good character development but this book just eenybyo a new level. I loved all the MMC and what they bring to the table as they all bring out a part of her. Its so hot in tease we got but she didn't leave us hanging with lots of mental images clear in my mind. Noe the kitchen bench mention gave me flash backs of things breaking in black veil and I NEED that scene to play out in the coming books.
I loved it I loved it I loved it. So happy to have been able to read it and I may start from the start again because it was that good.
