wonderful dark romance

This is the third book in this Dark Romance series by Piper Stone and I really liked it, just like I enjoyed the first two. There is a very nice amount of smutty scenes including some butt stuff and there is a terrific HEA at the end.

Kerri Bellington is a twenty-seven year old music teacher at Harry Carver High School. She's also a very talented violinist. She became a teacher because she was unable to catch a break and secure an audition with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Kerri has had a very rough upbringing after her dad drained her mom's bank account and took off. After that she then had witness her mom bringing in a string of men in and out of her life like a revolving door. She also succumb to a drug and alcohol addiction. But the worse man of all was her step-father Drago Santiago who was a heavy hitter for the LA Cartel. He was nasty, cruel, evil and abusive to both her and mom. Kerri tried to get her mom to leave Drago but she would not listen. She even went as far as to get prove that he was a bad person but that still wasn't enough to get her mom to leave and come with her.
Drago knew that Kerri was spying on him and had witnessed him killing a man in cold blood, to teach her a lesson he took her most sacred possession, her virginity. After that Kerri went into a great depression and was a shell of a person, with the money that she had saved she finally decided to save herself and left home at eighteen. She some how managed to put herself through four years college in music through scholarships and student loans at the University of California.
Drago had made her distrusted of everyone.
Kerri knew that she didn't have any luck life or the government system. She finished and was working two jobs when her mom called her saying that she need her and that she was no longer on drugs. However, it was all a roused setup by Drago to get her to come back home. Once she realized what was happening she knew that she had to leave and before she leaves her mom told her that she had a brother name Casey. After the death of her mother she fought Drago to get custody of her but the courts sided with him.
It wasn't until the went to prison that she was able to get custody of her little brother. She had him for years when she was only twenty-five. Casey is a seven year old boy with autism. He's very smart in spite of his disease but often throws temper tantrums. It's very hard to find someone who he tolerate apart from her except Rebecca. Kerri is barely making it on her teachers salary with everything that she has to pay for her Casey. She had to get a second job as a dancer at Club Blackout. She wanted a job at Blackout sister club Carnal Sins but because she was inexperience she had to settle with what she could get. Because she doesn't have any money Casey is unable to get proper care and go to the proper school that would with his out burst. Grant Wilde is one-third owner of Carnal Sins along with the Blackout club. He's a handsome forty-three years old, grumpy sunshine, a billionaire, philanthropist, and a ruthless businessman. Grant two business partners had found love and settled down and he was last one standing. Grant is jaded towards love after he had been hurt and what remains is a black cold heart. He's also considered as one of wealthiest eligible playboy bachelor. In order to ward off females from trying to get with him, he illicit the help of his best friend hollywood actress Candace Candy to enter into a fake relationship with him.
Grant has a no fraternizing rule amongst employees in place at both of his club's. This rule also goes for him. But when he saw kitty kat in the cage at Club Blackout he was immediately drawn to her even though he could not see her face. He noticed kitty kat getting accosted and although he generally let the bouncers handles disruptive patrons he decided to step. However, she did not need any help after all when she gave the guy a left hook and the guy tried to hit her back leaving him no choice but to break the guys nose. He was impressed with how she handled herself, she then started to mouth off to him. Her actions brought out the dominant side in him and he wanted to put her across his lap and spank her or take her to his office and fuck her. Grant was being awarded for all philanthropy work through Rise to Vision Project Los Angeles and Kerri was violinist there. She was disgusted by all the frauds in the room who donates money to at risk and underprivileged schools but never step foot in any of them. She challenged Grant to come to her school to see where his money is going. He was so intrigued by her passion for her school that he agreed to her challenge and kissed her. But she was not impressed with his actions and slap him.
Kerri was even more shocked when he showed up and witnessed her interaction with her students and the talents that was in the classroom. He was shocked that her school hadn't received any of the millions of dollars that he and some influential people had donated to the program. She had a ideas of how his money could help her school so they went to a dive bar to discuss them. However, they never made it to them as he had to have her right then and there. Kerri had awoken something in him that he had thought was long dead. But Kerri was keeping some very big secrets from him that she thought could be end of them before they even got started good. Their chemistry was smoldering hot, explosive, magnetic and electrifying. Grant was worried about her and decided to trail her home and it was then he witnessed one of student accosting her in the alley. Someone from her pass was trying to kill her but she didn't understand why because she didn't have to testify against her step-father in order to put him away. Grant discovered all her secrets and wanted to help her because from the first time that he had her, he claimed her as his and no one messed with what belong to him. Who was trying to kill Kerri from her past life? And can Grant protect her from what is coming? What steps will Grant take when his little kitten is taken? Will he cross the line or work with law enforcement? How will Casey react to Grant being apart of their lives? Will they get their HEA?

Compelled Obedience is Book 3 of Carnal Sins by Piper Stone. This has been a well written and exciting series. These 3 books were written about three college friends sitting around a table and discussing starting up a BDSM club named Carnal Sins. Lachlan McKenzie owns the club in DC. Jameson Stark owns the club in Miami and Grant Wilde owns the club in LA. This is Grant and Kerri's story. Kerri was brought up in an abusive environment. Her stepfather would hurt her and her mother. She had followed him one night and had seen him kill a man. Kerri thought she would never have a better life and was always afraid of him. When she turned eighteen Kerri attended a music university on a four year scholarship. Kerri then got a job as a music teacher at an underprivileged school Harry Carver High School in LA. She really loved to see her students learn and encouraged them. Kerri goes by ( Star Angel ) got a job at night as a cage dancer at a club called Blackout which is on the other side of Carnal Sins. The difference was Carnal Sins was a members only BDSM club with an approved application and for the rich. Blackout was anyone could get in after paying the high get in fee. These clubs are owned by Grant Wilde. This is where Grant and Kerri meet. He sees her dancing in her cage and is interested and also some dudes were hassling Kerri and she cold cocks one of them. Grant steps in when the dude starts to hit Kerri. She really would like to work at Carnal Sins, because the money is so much better. Kerri wants to take care of her little brother who has special needs. She also needs to move them into a better neighborhood for safety. Grant and Kerri have had chemistry since they met. He wants her to be his submissive and only his. Grant's two friends have found their match and he believes he has found his. This book is emotional, fast paced, has steamy sex scenes, spanking, and secrets.

A Brilliant,thrilling and exciting listen from Piper Stone and a Fantastic end to this trilogy of books.
The last man to fall in love is Grant Wilde...his love interest is his new cage dancer.
Kerri is doing her best to make ends meet and to make a better life for her and her younger Autistic brother Casey.She is a Violinist and music teacher but her job at the school is not enough she needs extra money to pay the bills so starts dancing at Grant's club...not using her real name.
When Grant sees her dancing in the cage he is captivated by her talents and can't take his eyes off her..at the end of the night she is accosted by two men and Grant steps in to save her...But to his amusement and surprise she saves herself,putting the men down by herself.
Grant's attention is immediately peaked..He also meets Kerri as herself ,Kerri the music teacher at a charity event,because she is working with the kids that Grant is funding..But the money he donates is not going on the students and Kerri tells him so.
The chemistry between them both is so electric and Kerri becomes curious about Grant's BDSM lifestyle and she wants to give a try at being trained as a submissive.
There is so much more going on in this story when Kerri's past comes back to threaten her.
This is such a captivating story that I relished listening too.
Narrated once again by Skylar Morgan who is excellent in his storytelling,I thoroughly enjoyed his voice as he performed all the characters.
I loved this story it is super steamy and in parts very sweet I loved the ending it really showed Grant's soft side and how much he loves Kerri...Plus the way he loves Casey also will make you swoon.
Kerri is a strong woman who is so used to being on her own and not asking for help,that it is difficult for her to accept Grant's interest and help.
Piper Stone has such an incredible imagination and continues to keep producing stories that always captures my interest...I wonder if Grant's sister will get a story she is very fiesty and eats men alive..lol..I don't think a man can handle her.
Another Excellent series from Piper Stone I Loved it.

Carrie, feisty, fierce and smart, teacher by day, and to try and make ends meet, she moonlights as a talented musician and dancer at night. Grant, club owner, businessman and uber alpha dominant, Carrie’s definitely caught HIS attention, but she’s also caught the attention of a nefarious ne’er do well from her past, who’s now determined to cut short her future! The plot, THIS brilliantly written, smooth moving, DELICIOUS plot is mysterious, action filled, pulse pounding, and had me wanting to up the speed sooooo bad! I … wanted … resolution….. but I was a good girl and keep my hands off the sped dial, and on hindsight, I am so glad I did! The characters, the intricacies, the interactions, and lordy, the fan yourself, grab a bucket or three of ice decadent delicious HEAT! I would not have wanted to miss a millisecond! The characters are so well developed and so humanly crafted! As in life, some are likable and some aren’t, but all are beautifully “real”; they feel whole, and they are completely convincing, as is the dialogue they speak! The scene setting is clear, the flow smooth, and I had no unanswered questions when all was revealed! No spoilers, but I will say I could not have been happier at how everything played out! This was a brilliantly balanced and beautiful story, it made me cry, and it made me feel! Best of all, it made me feel GOOD! It was also a very enjoyable listen! The narration was first class fabulous! Smooth, sultry, elegant and emotionally perfect with flawless timing and pacing! Truly a pleasure for the ear as the authors vision beautifully came to life! The entire production gets five beautifully compelling stars!

The third and final book in the Carnal Sins series and it goes out with a bang.

Kerri is a wonderful female lead, she's been through a lot in the past and is still struggling, but she works hard and despite everything she's been through, she doesn't back down. Something which is apparent when she loses her temper and fights back against those she feels wronged her; be it an over-zealous customer in the club she works at, her boss, or a co-worker who makes a disparaging comment about her brother, Casey. Casey is autistic and plays a large part in Kerri's story. I will admit I wasn't keen on the wording 'temper tantrum' used to describe Casey's autistic meltdowns but I was able to overlook it in this case because of how well the author had managed to portray the character mentioning things such as his mannerisms and sensory needs.

Grant is immediately attracted to Kerri as both herself and the alter-ego she performs under in his club. He recognises she's been hurt in the past and their relationship together really is wonderful as he goes out of his way to rebuild her trust in men and love, the way he is with Casey is swoon-worthy too, and I really appreciated that the author showed us both his hard, over the top, possessive and protective side as well as the soft, caring side that imitates different voices while reading a children's story. There's also the darker, passionate side we get to see of him, which introduces Kerri to a world of BDSM and shows her that she holds all the power, and her submission is a beautiful gift.

As ever, there was danger involved, and there were plenty of twists and turns that showed how interconnected both main characters' worlds were before they even knew it. There were unexpected people involved and I like that the drama kept me on edge as the truth of everything was finally revealed.

Compelled Obedience is the third book in the Carnal Sins Series and follows Kerri Bettington and
Grant Wilde joint owner of Carnal Sins Clubs. While it's part of a series it can be read as a standalone story.

Kerri Bettington life hasn't been easy, surviving sexual assalt and abuse, she pulled herself up and became a gifted violinist. But teaching music isn't bringing in enought money so her life is in shambles barely able to keep a roof over her head and the overdue bills from piling up. All the while she's caring for Casey her autistic half brother who needs constant supervision. So she takes on a second job at night dancing in "Club Blackout". That's where she runs in into Grant Wilde the owner of the club.
Grant is immediately drawn to the woman dancing in the cage in his club but chooses not to approach until he sees customers beginning to harass her. He'd soon discover she was fiesty take no prisoners very opinionated say it like it is woman. She stirred something that he thought was dead and buried his libido and his protective side. Little did he know he would run into another fiesty woman who intrigued him only twenty-four hours later without knowing they were the same person.

While she was also drawn to him she doesn't trust any man especially after what happened in her past. Then circumstance along with happenstance with a side of fate brings them together and life will never be the same.

Buckle up their story is a real page-turner that is sinfully delicious, with passion, drama, danger, suspense with twists and turns. It has a captivating group of secondary characters that bring life to this action packed storyline.

If you're looking for a fantastic read, I highly recommend "Compelled Obedience," the third and final book in Piper Stone's "Carnal Sins" series. As with Ms. Stone's previous works, this rough, dark romance has a great storyline and plenty of heat, so please be aware that it may contain triggers for some readers.

The story follows twenty-year-old Kerri, who has faced many challenges in her life. Just when she thinks things might be looking up, she discovers that she has a younger brother who needs her help. Working two jobs, including one as a dancer at the club Blackout, Kerri catches the eye of Grant, one of the club's three owners. When Grant sees one of his new dancers being assaulted by a patron, he steps in, only to be surprised when Kerri proves she can handle herself.

The chemistry between Kerri and Grant is instant and continues to build until they finally act on their feelings. This May-to-December mafia romance has all the danger and angst that you would expect from the genre, but it also has plenty of romance, chemistry, self-awareness, and growth that will connect with readers.

All in all, "Compelled Obedience" is a great read with a satisfying HEA ending. Congratulations to Piper Stone on a wonderful conclusion to the "Carnal Sins" series! You won't want to pass up the opportunity to read this phenomenal story.

This book is much a mystery with lots of suspense and thriller elements like crime activity murder. I personally couldn’t get enough lots of laughter cause of the characters enemies to lovers theme with a very cute seven year old boy! I couldn’t believe how this book was different than what I thought it would be I still love it anyway! It’s action packed page turner so much to enjoy will keep you wanting more the three best friends are something else I love how they interact with each other plus always there when wanted/needed! The female lead in this book is so strong in many ways especially with everything she’s been through. Her headstrong personality and sassy attitude will definitely keep anyone on their toes luckily for her the lead guy character doesn’t back down easily lol! These two are hilarious among other things needless to say you’re want some ice cream or something else cold you like to help with some of the more steamy moments! Overall well worth the time to wait for this book I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough it’s a quick read in my opinion! Love the characters so much and the ending was a great touch I couldn’t believe the twist answers to the mystery hunt we went through! I want more of this crazy ride series!.

Kerri has had a rough life. She is living paycheck to paycheck. She needs a break. When she pushes the limit with her boss, she is sure he is going to fire her. Everyone keeps telling Grant Wilde that he needs to settle down. With his breakup with Elizabeth, he isn’t so sure. When he spots a pretty pink vixen dancing in a cage at his club, he is intrigued. Even more surprising she has talent beyond. But Kerri also has a secret.

I love that Kerri has taken it upon herself to take care of her brother. He is autistic and loves her. But at times trying. But she has patience. And she is a great role model. She sees the good in her students. This is one woman that works really hard to get by. Grant isn’t just a Dom and partners with Lachlan and Jameson. He isn’t about to let anyone hurt Kerri and her brother. I love all the characters in this story. Each friend finally finds his soul mate. Grant seemed jaded but he showed good in himself. Kerri had a lot of walls to break down but Grant took his time. I have to say I was surprised at how things turned out. I thought I knew who was to blame but nope. I wonder if we will get a story about Grant’s sister.

Grant and Kerri run into each other at a charity event and the sparks are flying. But Kerri believes that Grant has no idea what really goes on in the schools he donates so much money to. Challenged to see what really goes on, Grant walks into Kerri’s classroom and begins to question everything. One thing leads to another and Grant realizes that Kerri is in trouble. He’ll do anything he can to help out the teacher who has awoken something in him that he thought was long gone.

Grant makes it hard for Kerri to resist him, especially the way he has bonded with her little brother. Buckle up as secrets are revealed, truths come out and two people learn how to trust again.

“The sultry strains of the violin tugging at the darkness buried inside me.”

Well, for a series that started out disappointing this one sure ended with a bang! No secret I didn’t really care for Required Surrender, the first book in this series. What I did like were the three friends so I went ahead a read book two, which was so much better. To be honest I didn’t think Grant’s book would be even better but somehow it is, although it’s very different. Grant is pretty much like I expected based on the first two books and I loved him. The surprise delight definitely belongs to Kerri. What a survivor. I have mad respect for everything she has survived in her life and still managed to be such a caring woman. I can’t go into details without spoiling everything but I will say not many could have lived through what she did without becoming hard and angry with the world. Highly recommend and easily a standalone although there are spoilers for the other two books in the series but that’s typically what happens with books in a series. But if you haven’t read the other books you can still enjoy this one with no problem.

Keri is a young woman who will do anything to take care of her special needs brother who she fought to gain custody of after her mother's death. She loves her job teaching music to high school students but it isn't enough to pay all the bills so she takes a job working as a cage dancer at Club Blackout. She meets the owner, Grant Wilde and while sparks fly, she doesn't have time for romance, and she doesn't think he would be a good person to bring home to her brother. After showing up at her school where he donated a large sum of money, he finds the need to protect her from one of the students who was threatening her. Their story progresses and it turns out after he meets her brother, she begins to trust him and is willing to see where their relationship might lead. I was not familiar with this series, Carnal Sins and have not yet read books 1 & 2 but I will be rectifying that mistake very soon.

In true Piper Stone's fashion this story is one delicious treat for the emotions.
As the third instalment of the Carnal Sins series we get to read about the third friend, Grant Wilde and his enlightened story with his to be claimed love interest and "sub" Kerri Bettington, an educated musician that works within the walls of the lifestyle club, Carnal Sins.
A well scripted story that definitely leads readers through an emotional fuelled field including rape, abuse, love-hate, betrayal, heartbreak, undying loyalty and protection, steamy romance, BDSM components and every girl's favourite HEA.
Incredible characters with a hint of realism with the young character of Casey being recognised on the spectrum and Kerri wanting the very best for him no matter what!
I've leant with a number of Piper Stone's stories they aren't a simple romance story and will definitely test your emotional resiliency but they are always worth that feeling you get when things really start challenging your views.

This was another powerful read by Ms. Stone. It has a complex plot that may cause
triggers for some readers. It is a romance with sprinkles of darkness and a boatload
of sizzling chemistry. The vivid characters blew my mind as they struggled with their
relationship and the obstacles that caused them to stumble. Many subtle moments
added complexity to the storyline, along with trauma, danger, and drama.

Trauma and abuse had a lasting effect on Kerri as she dealt with the consequences.
I admired her strength and determination. Despite the rough times, she came out the
other side, unwilling to give in. I also admired how she fought to keep her brother safe. Grant was your typical alpha male, but I liked how protective he was of Kerri. He had all that money could buy but he wanted more.

This book was well written with a solid foundation and characters that added flavor and enhanced the overall reading experience.

Fantastic

A brilliant series of books and this is no exception, three college boys two trust fund kids one a full scholarship due his football prowess each brilliant in his own right decide on a decision that after college when they are successful they will get back together to create an exclusive sex club each has their own talents. They eventually build and create Carnal Sins and are very successful the bdsm clubs cater to the rich and famous are very exclusive and membership expensive each man ends up with his own club whilst still full member of the overall corporation. This book is about the third member of the group Grant Wilde he finds his own wild ride in the form of Kerri Berrington she is beautiful feisty and captivating but with alot of secrets to be uncovered but these two sizzle up the pages and leave the reader wanting more. A great read a great series well done this author.

Unwilling to find anything good about him Kerri calls him out for being arrogant and knowing nothing about the schools he claims to be helping. Determined to show Kerri differently their attraction grows and when Kerri is attacked Grant realizes that Kerri is someone he knows. But Kerri has bigger problems than Grant could ever imagine and he is determined to do whatever it takes to protect her and her brother Casey. This very hot and steamy read is full of action, intrigue and suspense. Grant is the last of the owners to find love and he will need to call on both of them to help and support him as he deals with the people out to get Kerri. I have loved this series and this book doesn't disappoint.

Keeping them both safe from her abusive stepfather and the cartel gangsters he was aligned with is Grant's #1 priority. This book has twists, turns, sizzle, steam, action, drama, and so much more. All three of these book were great reads and this was my favorite.

I fell in love with Grant and Kerri!
I feel for Kerri’s start in life at the hands of her abusive stepfather, but love how she continues to keep the pieces together by working 2 jobs to keep a roof over her head and help her autistic stepbrother, Casey. Her 2nd job puts her in front of Grant, the owner of the club where she dances and to say the spark kicks off something in Grant’s too small heart is an understatement. Kerri’s 2nd encounter with Grant is explosive to say the least, but Kerri pushes Grant away. Add in a plot twist of Kerri being attacked, and Grant getting downright possessive of her welfare, and I hoped that Grant would be able to keep Kerri and Casey safe. How does it all end? You have to read to find out and don’t expect to put the book down until you turn the last page!

Wow!! What the heck did I read?? This book was insanely good!! Full of steam and action, a domineering hot alpha male that makes makes me want to fan
myself when I read some of his dialog! *phew*
Kerri is such a strong Female Lead, been through alot I enjoyed that Piper added the aspect of her brother to the story and his issues and how Grant responded to him. It was so sweet to see.
Grant was so loving to Kerri as well it was swoon worthy I tell you!!
This was the perfect book to end the series!
I hate that it's over!!!
These books will absolutely be on my re-read list! And I will be recommending them highly for sure!

Kerri had a hard life; her father was abusive, and she witnessed him committing murder. Her mother turned to alcohol and refused to leave. Kerri worked two jobs, teaching and stripping after leaving. returning to take her little brother away after her mother's death. Grant steps in after a patron at the club comes on to Kerri, only to find she can handle herself. Kerri doesn't think much of Grant, but Grant is interested and won't take her keep yourself at a distance. Kerri keeps her secrets even as Grant tries to help. This book has all the feels, steam, action, suspense to keep you engaged throughout. Absolutely loved it!!!

I loved this book. So far it is the best of the series. Kerri’s father abused her until she managed to escape. She goes back for Casey and runs again. Casey is a special kid. She works two jobs trying to support both herself and her brother. She loves teaching music to the kids from the bad side of town. She is a musician at heart and very talented. Her second job is dancing at the Blackout Club. The club and its sister club, Carnal Sins, are owned by the infamous Grant Wilde. When these two meet, everything changes. Grant brings out a side of Kerri that she didn’t know was there. This is a suspense filled dark romance. There are triggers so beware, but it’s still a damn smoking hot book that I recommend you read. I can’t wait for Eva’s story!

Kerri has had a tough life and she is struggling to support herself and her younger brother who has special needs. She works nights as a dancer at Grant's nightclub as well as teaching during the day. She first meets Grant when he steps in when some patrons hassle her, although she had defended herself. The next time she sees him she is playing the violin at an important award evening. She challenges him to actually visit one of the schools that he might donate money to, so that he actually knows what they need.

Grant is interested in Kerri but can he attract her to his lifestyle?

I really enjoyed this book and I loved Kerri's strength.

OMG! Wow, I was absolutely astounded reading this book it was spectacular, reading this story was definitely a page turner and the characters were really captivating. This story was about Kerri and Grant, Grant was a billionaire and playboy he also owns Carnal Sin's. Kerri works a couple of jobs she was dancing in the cage when he noticed her, she has too many secrets and one's she never wants to share. The chemistry between them was electric hot and steamy, and what will happen when Grant finds out her secrets.

This is Book 3 of the Carnal Sins series.

A dark mafia romance and can be read as a standalone. I recommend this read and all the books in the series. Readers should heed content warnings.

Kerri needs to provide for her brother , when she takes a second job as a dancer she meets Grant at his club. They keep meeting up unexpectedly and although his help has strings attached it’s all she can count on.

Compelled Obedience by Piper Stone is Book 3 of Carnal Sins Series. This is the story of Kerri and Grant. This is a interconnecting series so it does add to your enjoyment if you have read the previous books. But I do think this can be a standalone book. Kerri grew up with an abusive step father but has been working to have a better life. Kerri works hard towards her dreams. So by day she does what she loves but at night she has to dance at a club to pay the bills. Grant Wilde and his friends owns clubs but he happens to be at the club Kerri works at and saves her from a situation. Grant is taken with her and this starts their story.

Grant isn't really looking for love or commitment. However, it snuck up on him and he embraced it fully. Kerri is a brave heroine who is trying to survive and support her autistic brother. She is able to relinquish some of her control to Grant who jumps in to be her knight in shining armor. Kerri and Grant have some deliciously hot "training" sessions. Grant adores her brother and has enough power and resources to stop the forces trying to get at Kerri. Great read. You won't be able to put it down.

Amazing narration from Skyler Morgan, who brings out the characters, plot, romance and steam.

Kerri is struggling because of her past ,she is working hard and is a strong in character. Kerri doesn't back down, which is apparent when she loses her temper and fights back against those she feels wronged her. Even if a customer, boss or co workers at the club she works at, makes comments about her brother, Casey. Casey who is autistic.

When Grant sees Kerri he is is immediately attracted to her, He is possessive and has protective side. as well as the soft, He introduces Kerri to a world of BDSM.
There is danger, and plenty of twists , heat, passion and amazing characters.
