I can't do this series anymore. At this point, I don't even understand why the author even writes about the paranormal as most of the book is about the mundane details about the protagonist and her daily life in the coffee shop, at home, and with her boyfriend. Look, I get this book is mainly written for tweens, hence the overemphasis on the romantic triangle between Abby, Jesse, and Ty. However, then maybe the author should write a series just on teen romance.

The paranormal component is implausible simply because no time is spent on it. The bad guy character...he could have been great but we'll never know as we never saw him. That diddy about Abby being possessed? Ok, that lasted all of a handful of pages.

Seriously...so.much.emphasis.on.her.relationship. More emphasis on the colors of the rooms, how much she likes the Barca players (hey! she even names her favorite ones along with their coach, and all of the games that were won or lost). Look, I grew up being a Barca fan. I even have in-laws that are in Bend and am familiar with the places mentioned but c'mon...

If this series is being marketed as a paranormal series, then let's focus on the paranormal with glimpses of the personal day-to-day stories littered throughout each novel. It shouldn't be the other way around.

Personally, I am done with the series and was annoyed to have purchased the book only to skim several pages at a time because it contained details that were clearly irrelevant to the story.

Okay. There is the pet peeve that I just discovered I absolutely loathe! When an author purposefully makes the protagonist act dumb to the situation at hand. In this book particularly, Abby Craig has been dealing with the spiritual realm long enough to understand and identify when something paranormal is happening to someone. Her first questions aren't going to be "well were they on drugs?" or "maybe they're mentally ill?" She knows what she's capable of, and for Ms. Sinclair to purposefully dumb her down just to keep the plot going was so damn annoying.

Don't get me wrong, I still really enjoyed the book. I'm still going to keep reading. I love Abby Craig's character. I love her friends David and Mo. I love the little triangle between Abby, Ty and Jesse. There's still enough that I like for me to continue the series. I just can't give it more than 3 stars because of Ms. Sinclair's little hiccup.

I totally enjoy this series. Some people give this series low ratings because they feel it isn't "paranormal" enough. I guess that may be why I like it since I'm not into the paranormal books too much. I love that this series is about a young 21 year old in love with her past boyfriend and also in love with her current. I love the location of this book. Bend, OR is an area that is on the short list for us for when we retire. Though I've never been there, this series makes me want to go there NOW. This particular book, as far as the paranormal story goes, I didn't think was that fantastic. It wasn't as suspenseful or 'scary' as some of the others, but what I liked about this particular book was the love story. It went into developing Abby and Ty's relationship more. It's so hard not to love both Ty and Jesse.

OK this one was a little flat for me. I have loved Abby in the previous books but I don't know why she was made to be so weak in this one by the author....
I am still giving it four stars as once it built up and we see Paloma and Abby go through the possession, see Abby sort out her feeling with Ty only to have him flake out when she get possessed after saying she loves Jesse - that is one messed up love triangle but one she has chosen to work on with Ty, a part of her will always love Jesse but she knows and accepts !? that she can't continue to love a ghost.
hope book 6 sees Abby back to normal.

This series is just getting a joke now. It's not about the paranormal at all. The ending of this book contained all the paranormal bits and even that was rushed. It's just about Abby and her insecurities with Ty. I know this book is aimed at teens but including phrases like 'cray cray' is a joke. It's clearly a rushed book as book 4 mentioned 50 Shades being a best seller and then in book 5 mentioning the cannibal incident that happened a few months ago. Definitely not going to waste my time with book 6.

It was horrible. I must say that the first book was pretty good and it was n free download. The next two were ok because they did have the creepy scare factors in them. But book four and five just did not need to be written.
The detailed descriptions of her soccer jackets she would wear where beyond annoying. I found myself rolling my eyes every time it was mentioned that Abby would play/practice soccer.
The love triangle was also extremely annoying.
I don't think I'll continue reading the series. It really should have finished when she was rescued from Nathaniel and the island.

This was one of Jools Sinclair's scariest book of her 44 series. Most of the demons that Abby has had to face in the past have been living human beings. In this story she is fighting a demon from the other side.
It did take me awhile to get back into the story since it has been awhile since I have read 44 book 4. I had to aquatint myself to the characters in the story. It also was a little rushed toward the end but also leaves you hanging to read the 6th book in the series.

This is an okay series. It can drag on a bit, but honestly I like the characters. I think its a good series for young adults.. its something I'd recommend my daughter read. And its nice the main character has morals . Its no Steven King or Ann Rice novel but I still give it 4 stars. I see there are 9 books now I just hope the author doesn't turn it into a disaster like the never ending House of Night series.. seriously there's like 15 books to that one lol

Well, it was as I feared. I really wish I had left off at Book 4. The story was wrapped up enough while leaving the right amount of loose ends.
This book - the writing felt a bit more uneven, the story was more fragmented, and this part of the story ended very unsatisfactorily - wrapped up way too easily with no real explanation. And the ending is sort of cliff-hanger-y but not enough that I want to go find and read the next volume.

Ty upsets me a little with how he acts towards her ability. If he loved her that much he would be open minded more and think about the things she has gone through in the short time he's known her. Now he gets her to say I love you and pretty much bails. I do like the last page tho! Oh and when is book 6??!!!

OK I'm done... I'm giving up on this series - it's not getting any better the story just drags out with no real story line and then you get a hook on the end, not enough. I really wanted to keep liking these books but they just get worse, like there is no effort in them anymore. I should have stopped after book 2.

I know I am being vague but I don't want to give anything away so you will just have to read the series. I Can't wait to read book 6.

This book will shock you and hold you in a suspense that you cant crawl yourself out of. This Series is very very addicting. I actually cried in this book. After i learned in the first book that Jesse was dead i kept wishing some way that he could come back to life.... there are things like that possible right? if not i can still wish.

I did like the book. There was a lot more build up I'm this one but the climax just wasn't there. Also the books have shown Abby getting stronger and I know she had a setback in the last book, but come on. She did noting in her own defense in this book. She was as weak if not weaker than the first one. Which I suppose is the unsaid reason for her possession

Bof, this was really a boring story. I read very quickly through it, but it is my least favourite book of the series. There was no suspense for me and it all felt so unreal. Let's see if the next story is better!

I feel that the book had a lot more fluff than plot. I really wish she'd bring the mystery and excitement throughout the entire book instead of the last quarter. Other than that it was a great book. I really dug it.

This series was a nice easy enjoyable read that shouldn't end.
