Sean Curley and Dan Trout, two Broadway actors who have recently befriended a group of heroes from myth and legend, answer the call when one of those heroes mysteriously appears hundreds of miles away with no memory. The two travel to the shores of North Carolina to help their new friend, and in the process discover an evil they had thought defeated is back with a vengeance. Far from the city they call home, they find themselves surrounded by a strange and dark history that awakens around them. A mysterious colony from long ago, notorious pirates, restless spirits, and the truth behind local legends, make their journey south as dangerous as it is unexpected.

Meanwhile, back in New York, their Broadway friends, known as the Grumbles, find themselves confronted by treachery within their ranks and seek help from their newfound paranormal allies to set things right. But is there a darker force at work behind these troubles?

Danger stalks them wherever they go, from New York to the small towns of the Outer Banks, and they must find a way to keep the evil in check.

Good and bad are revealed to be less obvious than they had thought as they struggle to keep those they love, and themselves, safe.

Red Sky started where The Peripherals Book One left off with friends in trouble and the “Grumbles”, Broadway friends, springing into action to help one another.
Most of the action takes place on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with a long history of mysterious events. Red Sky uses these events and additional fairy tales to create an epic conflict.
You will enjoy the lighthouse scene with the Grumbles and the Peripherals coming together under tremendous odds to push each other to accomplish what they never dreamed was possible.
I read the last 130 pages of Red Sky in one day. I could not put it down. The characters, the descriptions, and the story were enthralling.
Looking forward to reading Book Three...

I couldn't wait to read Mr. Aldrich's second Peripherals book and it did not disappoint. The gang from Book 1 is together again in a new gorgeous locale fabulously described by the author. And trouble on the edge of reality ensues.
PLUS, this cover is incredibly beautiful.

Just when Sean and Dan head to the Outer Banks to assist a new friend, their Broadway Grumbles encounter a weird disturbance in their close-knit group. Fighting a two-front battle against unidentified enemies and dangers, the Grumbles regroup to rescue their friends new and old, with assistance from members of an historical colony and contemporary partners. Good stuff!
