The Broken Lands are an unforgiving place. One misstep can lead to tragedy and the penalties of poor judgement come swiftly. In such a place, people of each tribe must work together for the benefit of all, not only for food and water but also to defend what is theirs. The laws are in place to help assure their survival but there comes a time to decide to follow the law, or do what is right. Utsef, as a third son must make that choice, and in doing so faces a truth he's known all along... one thing even less forgiving than the Broken Lands is it's people.
