About the author

Diony Heppler (RN, BSN) has been writing books for over fourteen years. Nonfiction is her favorite genre to write, especially when it builds connections in relationships and strengthens faith in God.

She believes personal growth comes from facing and overcoming hard things, and when we share our life journey with others in openness and vulnerability we create a stronger community of survivors.

Diony grew up in Alaska but has lived in several states in the U.S. and overseas. She enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and baking, but mostly just loves spending time with her husband, recent co-author and best friend -Trent Heppler, their children, and their grandchildren.

While reading Hearing Him, I enjoyed traveling through The Book of Mormon with the authors as they shared the ways they and others hear Christ's voice in The Book of Mormon. This book is a great accompaniment to studying the Book of Mormon (BoM). As you read, study and ponder, it can help tune into ways you hear Him & find Him there. The stories and experiences of others that were shared were inspirational, helpful examples (although I would've felt more of a connection if persons referred to had names, rather than "a brother" or "a sister" - just as a side note).

Whether read a bit at a time as a devotional or read all together in a shorter amount of time, Hearing Him is a great resource to help enhance one's understanding of the BoM and tune in to & see the Savior's continuous presence there.

I love the format of this book. Short but very much to the point chapters, which take a verse from The Book of Mormon and explains its background. This is followed by a true life object lesson, then a message of hope. The final part of each chapter provides a question for the reader to ponder and then apply into their lives. For me this covers everything I could want from a book about hearing The Saviour's voice.
This book can be read as slow as you like, or you can cover several chapters a day, the choice is yours. Whichever you choose you will definitely enjoy your reading.

Full of insights on how to hear the scriptures speak to you and your life.

I loved the way this was laid out, and makes it simple to learn more than if you were just reading the scriptures by yourself.

The authors provide stories and experiences relating to the topic and it gives you a perspective different from your own.

This book has many inspiring messages that helps in learning the message for you. It helps that it has a question that gives you pause to think and reflect on.

I found value in reading this book.

This book can help you find context for yourself as you read through the Book of Mormon. The book follows an easy-to-read format: a verse of scripture is shared, a relatable real-life experience is shared that corresponds with the scripture verse. This prompted me to think of my own applications of the same scripture verse. Well-written and great for small reading moments (just a chapter at a time) or a deep dive.

A nice devotional book with some good insights into the Book of Mormon. Especially good to accompany the Come Follow Me study for the year (2024) The Authors encourage us to hear Christ as we read the scriptures.

I found this book to be uplifting. The chapters were short and each touched on a different way in which we hear our Savior through the Book of Mormon. Each chapter ended with a Self-reflection question that was very thought provoking. Each chapter would make a really great daily devotional.
