This is book 2 in a series, please see author's note at bottom.
Go figure that my car would die the same day I need to tell my dad the worst news. Well, for me it is the best news, but for him, the worst. Dad and I have been joined at the hip since mom ditched out on us. I have always been totally dependent on him. I am ready to launch, and he isn’t entirely ready for it, which is exactly why the news is the best for me, but the worst for him. I am ready to explore what the world has to offer.
When my brother’s best friend asks if we can keep an eye on his kid, then explains she doesn’t have a good place to live for the first couple months after her move… we end up offering the apartment over our garage. Ugh. The last thing we need is for her to tell her dad about us, so we have to hide it. This is not going to end well.
She is off limits. That is what I told Poe and Bauer. She is off limits. So why am I struggling with remembering that she is… off limits.
He will freaking kill me. Off limits. Off limits.
Then things go sideways. Maybe he won’t kill me? Maybe. Doubtful. Ugh. I am dead.
Author's Note: The Mercenaries Series is best read in order, but can be enjoyed as standalones. Please view the suggested reading order in the front of the book if you wish to follow the crossover with Depraved Souls MC. Know this is not necessary to follow the Mercenaries. All Mercenaries books will give you enough information to function without the others.
Age Gap, Mercenaries, Polyamory
This book contains descriptions of sexual abuse, trauma, explicit language, violence - including suicide, and sexually graphic content. It is intended for 18+
All the tropes listed sounded perfect: I was looking for a why-choose with a damsel in distress and age-gap. However, I wasn’t expecting this to be a partial MC trope, which I am not a fan of. Wish that would have been disclosed with the other tropes.
Mix of MC life and mercenaries Great storyline, descriptions on point. Not your typical run of the mill read regarding MC life, saying that who doesn't love a protective MC family, dad, uncles and three men who look after the FMC and show her she is cared for and not a burden on anyone or a failure.
