Although it sometimes gets lonely out on the range, Cowboy Ned and his loyal companion, Andy, always find a way to keep each other entertained, but when Ned gets a crush on Miss Clementine and starts visiting her in town, Andy wonders if there will be room enough for him in Ned's new friendship.

Another cute book from David Ezra Stein with Cowboy Ned and his jealous pal (horse) Andy. Andy, like always, does the kind thing for his owner. Stein’s usual humorous pictures, touching words, and moral of a story. Great for primary classrooms or parents during bedtime.
Summary: Cowboy Ned makes a new friend, and she gives Ned her handkerchief. But Andy the horse is uncomfortable with this new friendship and doesn't want to be forgotten. He attempts to be rid of the handkerchief and Ned's new friend.
Review: The emotions Andy experiences are something that each child can relate to when they meet someone new or have to share a friend. I love that this book invites discussion as to how Andy can resolve the problem without preventing Ned from having a new friend.
Connections: Cowboy Ned and Andy, Crankee Doodle Quotes: "Then he knew what he had to do. 'Ned wants that hankie, and I am going to give it to him, no matter what,' he thought. 'Because a happy Ned is the kind of Ned I want.'"
