Rate this book
“Infused with sacred practices, meditations, and rituals, Celtic Goddess Grimoire is a must read for anyone seeking to cultivate a meaningful relationship with the divine feminine across the Celtic landscape.”
—Danielle Blackwood, author of The Twelve Faces of the Goddess

Welcome to the world of the Celtic feminine divine! Within these pages, you will meet great goddesses such as Brigid, the Morrigan, Sulis, Rhiannon, Rosmerta, and Elen of the Ways, as well as faery women like Melusine and Morgan Le Fae. Celtic Goddess Grimoire introduces you to goddesses of magic like Cerridwen, Arianrhod, and Blodeuwedd, as well as goddesses of justice, healing, and sovereignty. This book also explores the Ladies of the Lake, including the original Lake Lady from The Mabinogi. It shines a spotlight on the most prominent Celtic female divinities but also includes a section devoted to lesser-known goddesses of the Celtic world, such as the mysterious Nehalennia, who was nearly lost before her shrine was recovered from the depths of the North Sea.

A practical guide to working with these sacred beings, this book includes exercises for celebrating, honoring, and serving them. Author Annwyn Avalon provides chants, rituals, spells, and meditations. Learn how to build altars, craft charms, and actively invoke these Celtic goddesses so that they become a living, vital presence in your spiritual life. Annwyn also provides information about the meanings of the names of these sacred beings, their sacred symbols and creatures, as well as their personal powers, realms of strongest influence, and historical context.

-hard to told and small text makes it not the easiest to read

- loved the concise history & explanation of how large & varied the Celtic lands & people were

- like that this is an introductory book to working with these goddesses and that further research into history and how they were worshipped is encouraged

- as with last book I wish the meditations were available online! Could easily be done and be a big help especially as these are very involved journeys

- loved the history into the goddesses they featured and the ways to work with each of them that are featured

- many of the exercises are accessible & wouldn't cost much money to do. Plus they give you different ways to connect with the different goddesses

- goddesses from all over the celtic region are featured not just Scotland and Ireland so cool and so accurate

- there is a mention of chronic pain in the conclusion which was so nice to see us considered

-the glossary contains more goddesses to research which is a great jumping off point

I really wanted to like this more than I did. It wasn't bad, I just don't really feel like I got a ton out of it. Most of the first paragraphs of each section felt like the same sentence written in different ways, like you're trying to up the page count on a research paper. It was very repetitive in small ways, and I started finding myself skimming a lot. Still, there was definitely some useful information in here, and I didn't dislike it--it was just very standard.

I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this book! Annwyn masterfully weaves her profound knowledge of Celtic goddesses into each chapter, offering rich insights into their symbolism, roles, and relevance across history and modern practice. The respect and care with which each goddess is presented create a heartfelt invitation for readers to connect deeply and personally with these divine figures.

What truly makes this book stand out is its accessible, hands-on approach to magical practice. Packed with thoughtfully crafted rituals, spells, and meditations rooted in Celtic tradition, it serves as an empowering guide for anyone seeking to connect with their inner magic and the divine feminine. Whether you're new to the craft or have years of experience, this grimoire has something meaningful to offer.
