Sinners Never Die #2

Sinner's Sacrifice

Rate this book
Yvgeny Breznik, the CEO of a large corporation in New York City, has a laundry list of problems. A micro-managing aunt, a cousin who doesn’t know the meaning of the word restraint, and a new employee who occupies far too much of his attention. Samantha Dubets is his onsite medic, and she doesn’t know when to stop trying to protect the city’s most vulnerable citizens from their own mistakes. It’s all he can do to keep her out of trouble and his hands off her.

Oh, and he’s an eight-hundred-year-old vampire. One of less than two hundred in the entire world. Over the years, fewer and fewer people have been born with the genetic quirk necessary to become one, which means vampires are on the brink of extinction and desperate to enlarge their numbers.

Samantha’s blood reveals that she has the best chance of becoming a vampire of any human in a couple centuries. As a result, old alliances, treaties, and promises are tossed aside for the chance to take her. Other vampires want her to have children, as many as possible, then change her. But none of them are going to ask nicely. Yvgeny isn’t going to allow any of them to touch her because she belongs to him.

Samantha, however, has other plans…

SPOILER WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For someone who is not into Paranormal tropes, I think this one just made me a fan and kicked started the New Year in a happy way!

So I’ll start with the fact that the first couple of chapters was both confusing and annoying for me. Confusing because as a non-paranormal reader, I don’t understand half of what is said about genetic markers, sweating nonsense and so on - and annoying because well... the heroine is annoying plain & simple for the first 7 chapters. After that though, the story gets interesting and heroine becomes a wonderful & fun character with her “don’t mess with me” attitude. I am also now a fan of over-protective & obsessed Heroes like this one who go to the extreme for their women. 😅 The only thing that I did not like which is why it got 4 instead of 5 stars is the unsatisfactory ending that left a crucial part open ended and a HFN.

Yvgeny (Hero) is an 800 year old vampire. He became a vampire of sorts by some “Sweating Sickness”😜 that compromised their immune system and he & his people are looking for some genetic marker to stop them from extinction which heroine apparently has in spades (don’t judge me. I don’t understand paranormal mumbo-jumbo whatnot 🙄) and unfortunately other groups of vampire families want her for that reason alone which unfortunately makes her a hot commodity and places her constantly in grave danger.

Sam (Heroine) is his on-site paramedic who helps women prostitutes. She is gutsy, brutally honest, doesn’t take shite from anyone and is not very trusting. Hero loves everything about her. In fact, he falls hard at first sight and makes no bones about it how hot he is for her. Woohoo! This is a slow burn romance so be patient because when the sexy times arrive, it’s worth every minute! LOL.

Story starts with heroine going after a Pimp who took several friends of hers. She was pepper-spraying him for info on what he did to her friends when Hero comes to the rescue and we later learn that he saved her from being killed previously but was not able to save her sister. She went to work for him and he is now her protector. She also knows he is a killer and not quite a nice guy but doesn’t yet know he is a vampire but is never scared of him.

As they work together to save these prostitute women and to find their killer, they also have to deal with more danger coming in the form of vampires who want the heroine because of her “special markers”. And then there is also Hero’s new assistant that he has to contend with who is a newly appointed FBI agent sent in by his bosses to find dirt on the Hero but Hero knowing who he is spends a lot of the time messing with him. Brian, the FBI Agent/Assistant scenes were some of my favorite as I loved how all the characters were playing him and how he responded!

Anyway, there is humor here which I love, one very dedicated & possessive Alpha Hero, a spunky heroine who as I said can be annoying at times but grows on you as story progresses and a whole lot of sexy times and love. This is part of a series but I am debating whether or not to read Baz’s story who is Hero’s cousin as it contains the old dead ex trope which is not my thing (FYI: He lost his wife & son 500 yrs prior and had been mourning them for so long until he meets his heroine).

“You? Scared of rejection?” she asked in an amused tone.
“Fear isn’t giving me an erection.”
She rolled her eyes. “It’s the dress.”
“It’s not the dress,” he repeated, softly in her ear.
----
She gave him an impatient glare. “Who’s this?”
“This is my new assistant, Brian Stettler.”
“The FBI agent?”
“The same.”
Sam shook her head. “You need to stop taking in strays.” She glanced at the young man. “Try not to get dead.”
Brian choked, again.
“Have you had breakfast?” Yvgeny asked her.
“Will you stop being a fussy grandmother?”
He gestured at the door. “And here I was considering putting on pantyhose. Grandmothers still wear those, don’t they?”
“Just don’t put it over your head. Your FBI agent might shoot you.”
“He shoots at marksman level,” Yvgeny said. “I’m sure he’s got the visual acuity to determine if it’s me or not.”
“Huh.” She turned to Brian. “Are you carrying?”
“Um...”
“Because you should be.” She smiled with her teeth. “It’s dangerous to be around this guy for any length of time.”
“I’m dangerous to be around?” Yvgeny asked with mock indignation.
“You stepped in front of me, Mr. I think I’m bulletproof.”
“I was, in fact, wearing a ballistic vest made especially for me that looks exactly like a suit jacket.”
“And if he’d aimed at your head?” she asked sweetly.
“I would have ducked.”
----
“I’ll have the deluxe omelet,” Sam said. “FBI here will have the eggs Benedict Arnold.”
Brian stared at Sam, then groaned and put his face in his hands. “I’m going to get fired.”
“Are you wearing a wire?” Sam asked.
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Probably too scared that he’ll get searched, and we’d find it,” Yvgeny said
---
“You just get out of Quantico?” Nika asked.
Brian sighed. “Yes, and I’m going to have the shortest FBI career on record.”
“I mean, you’re in a unique position. Yvgeny runs a tight operation with an extensive network of business contacts, which means you’ll be exposed to all kinds of interesting information you can pass along to the FBI.”
Yvgeny covered his eyes with one hand. “Stop giving him ideas,” he whined. “I’m going to have to assign him his own protection detail if he does that.”
---
“I feel like I’m in a bad spy movie,” Brian muttered.
“You’re playing in the big leagues now,” Nika said. “You’re supposed to feel that way. It’s only when you get comfortable that you should worry.”
---
“Where are you experiencing pain?”
“The right side of my head and my side.” Sam placed her right hand on her ribs below her breast.
“May I?” he asked.
She frowned. “Of course.” How else was he supposed to determine where he wanted the x-ray to be taken?
She began to unbutton her shirt. Yvgeny got to his feet so fast the chair hit the wall behind him with enough force to dent the drywall, but it was his face that held her attention. He looked like he was one second from erupting into violence again.
She stared at him. “What’s wrong?” she asked carefully, keeping her tone calm and even.
“No one touches you,” Yvgeny said, back to snarling again.
---
“Why would you hire an FBI agent to be your assistant?”
“I got tired of all the various law enforcement agencies trying to get agents into my staff. I decided it would be fun to hire one to see what they would do.”
Benson looked at him with his mouth hanging open.
“And he’s bored,” Baz said.
Yvgeny sighed. “Why does everyone think I hired that kid for his entertainment value?”
“Because that is why you hired him,” Sam said.
“Baz,” Nika said in a warning tone. “Play nice.”
He grinned at her. “Yes, dear.”
Yvgeny covered his face with one hand. “Please don’t do that in front of me.”
“Do what?” Baz asked.
“The domestic bliss thing.” He gave himself an exaggerated shake. “It gives me the heebie-jeebies.”
---
She sighed. “You got that look on your face.”
“What look?”
“The one that says you’re planning to find that guy and destroy him down to the last atom.”
“I have a look that says that?”
“Yup.”
“Huh.”
----
“Put me down,” she hissed at him.
“Don’t worry, darling, I’m quite comfortable.”
“Do you have to be irritating right now?” she asked.
“I’m trying very hard to be good. Having my hands busy is helping.”
She studied his face for a moment. “Okay. Fine. You do look a bit stabby still.”
“Stabby?”
She shrugged. “It’s probably a good thing you don’t have a knife handy".
---
"I don’t understand any of this.” Sam said.
“I’ll try to explain when we’re inside and safe.”
“Try?” Sam asked. “Do or do not. There is no try.”
“Did you...did you just Star Wars me?” Yvgeny asked, the unexpected humor yanking him out of the toilet bowl he’d been circling.
-----
Baz began to laugh.
“Why are you laughing, idiot?” Yvgeny said.
Baz continued to chuckle but pointed at him, then at her.
Sam looked at him for a moment, then said to Yvgeny, “I think your cousin is broken.”
That made Baz laugh harder.
-----
“I could have you every day for a thousand years and it wouldn’t be enough. You drive me crazy with your stubborn insistence to help people. Some of whom could be a danger to you. And whenever you boss me around, my cock is hard for hours.”
She blinked. “Seriously?”
“Yeah.”
“Why?” she asked. “I’m not the type of woman you used to date, the type that sometimes comes to the hotel to chat you up.”
He smiled. “Keeping tabs on me?”
“Well, the four-inch heels, fake boobs, and tiny waists were hard to miss. Those women, they’re glamorous, beautiful, and sophisticated. I’m none of those things.”
“You are beautiful, and they have none of your other attributes. Since the moment I met you, I haven’t wanted anyone else. Only you.”
---
“Fuck me, you’re so wet.”
“Hurry up,” she moaned. “I’m dying here.” Everything inside her clenched tight.
“Foreplay shouldn’t be rushed.”
She grabbed him by the hair. “I’ve had months of foreplay,” she snarled into his face. “I need you inside me. Now.”
----
Nika slanted a look at Sam. “You’ve been spending too much time with Yvgeny. You’re starting to sound like him.”
“Jaded, irritated, and tired of stupid?”
Nika grinned at her. “Yup.”

This was my first ever vampire book. The only reasons I read it was because of mafia. Sam is very caring and she doesn't care if it puts her in danger. She is the most selfless book character that I have read about yevgeny was very protective of her and a vampire. Throughout this book I was confused. There was a lot of action and it was hard to keep up with that could be my fault though because I didn't read the first book.

I was immediately drawn in by the book description. I seldom encounter books about 800-year-old vampire CEOs, and several reviews mentioned the great dialogues—especially between Samantha and Yvgeny—which was just further incentive for me to pick this up. I went into this knowing that this was the second book in a series, but I figured I'd be able to follow along without any prior background information. The author did a good job of spreading out events from the first book in this one that made it easy to follow without feeling utterly lost or confused. Now that I've finished it, I can say that I REALLY liked this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the world Julie Rowe has built here, and the characters in it. Yvgeny delivered some of the best dialogues I've read in a while. I couldn't help smiling, giggling or laughing my way through this. It was like watching one's favorite TV show, that's how effortless this felt.

Sam sighed, kissed his neck, and looked at the cops. "He's melodramatic. Which is great when he plans sexy time, but occasionally his mouth runs away with him."
"Sexy time?" he asked her. "This isn't a therapy session."
"It's practice for when we go for therapy, because something tells me I'll be looking for some."

This book had a little bit of everything in it: suspense, a little romance, and humor. I loved Sam and Yvgeny as a couple but also as individuals. Sam's history and current vocation—to establish why she does what she does—was believable and quite well established in a quick and concise way—if you start the series with book two first. Yvgeny was also written in a well-rounded way, that made me understand what Sam perceived of him versus what a reader was privy to.

He was frightening.
He was also kind.
He was a contradiction.

Lately, I've found myself skipping graphic sex scenes in books because they're often underwhelming or too frequent despite a good story. Here, however, I almost wish there had been more heat. There is so much sexiness that could have been explored with the fangs and the possessiveness and all that chemistry. But, in the end, I'm not disappointed one bit because the story held up nicely without superfluous sex. I kept turning the pages for all the witty dialogues.

"Wait, they tested my blood without my permission?"
"You gave your permission to test your blood, remember? They must have done a few extra ones."
"That's an ethical breach of conduct."
"Yes, yes, we'll behead them later." He waved that off like it was inconsequential. "I'm trying to explain our precarious situation."

A minor complaint I have—and this is just a personal preference/opinion—is how many times Sam's life was in danger using the same ploy each time, and they didn't seem to learn from it. The whole book revolves around the bad guys trying to nab Sam. Of course, she's heavily protected at all times, and yet each and every time, the person guarding her managed to get called away or distracted for a few minutes, long enough to endanger Sam. That made no sense for them to keep falling for those tricks. And second, I wonder if subsequent books will touch upon Sam possibly wanting to be turned so she can be with Yvgeny forever. It didn't seem like Baz and Nika (the couple from the first book) had a talk about that either, since no one addressed it in this book. Just a thought.

This book is definitely one I'd pick up again and again to read just for the serotonin boost.

His voice was low and full of a growl that made her stomach weightless.
"You drive me crazy with your stubborn insistence to help people. Some of whom could be a danger to you." He leaned down so their noses almost touched.
"And whenever you boss me around, my cock is hard for hours."

I knew this would be a good book when I was cracking up at Yvgeny in the first book. This book sucked me right in and I read it in one day and was already downloading the next one when I was halfway through this one. The characters are great and their banter is hilarious. I love a book that has a strong female lead with a man who is obsessed with her and these books are definitely my type of books! Off to read the next one :)

Loved that this was a mix of vampire vibes meshed in with a mafia vibe as well. I loved seeing the FMC, Sam, be so passionate about her work as a paramedic and also helping those on the streets. She is certainly not afraid to speak her mind or fight for what’s right. We love the baddie energy she gives off!

And Yvgeny is an 800 year old vampire who is very much the protective MMC, doing whatever he needs to in order to keep Sam safe. I love the slow burn romance between these two.

There was a lot of action in this book and the ending was pretty wild. After each big plot twist, I kept thinking nothing else could happen, but then something would pop up.

Overall this was a super quick and fast paced book! It is the 2nd book in the Sinners Never Die series by Julie Rowe.

"A Sinner's Sacrifice": An Exploration of Love, Redemption, and the Secrets that Bind** Julie Rowe's "A Sinner's Sacrifice" captivates readers with an intoxicating blend of smoldering passion, tantalizing suspense, and the profound exploration of love's transformative power. Set against the backdrop of a dangerous underworld, the novel delves into the lives of two unlikely souls, Yevgeny Breznik and Samantha, whose paths intertwine in a whirlwind of desire and deception. Yevgeny, a descendant of an ancient and enigmatic lineage, embodies the epitome of coldhearted aristocracy. Samantha, a feisty paramedic with a sharp tongue and an unwavering resolve, stands as his polar opposite. Yet, when Samantha boldly confronts a ruthless pimp, Yevgeny's enigmatic façade cracks, revealing a glimmer of compassion that sets their lives on an irrevocable trajectory. As Yevgeny offers Samantha a sanctuary at his opulent hotel, their initial animosity transforms into a complex web of longing and mutual respect. With each stolen glance and forbidden touch, the flames of passion ignite, threatening to consume them both. However, their newfound bliss is marred by the lurking secrets that surround Yevgeny's enigmatic family, casting a long and ominous shadow over their fragile connection. Rowe's masterful storytelling paints a vivid portrait of a forbidden love that blossoms amidst danger and intrigue. She deftly weaves together elements of suspense, romance, and redemption, creating a page-turning narrative that keeps readers enthralled from start to finish. The characters are richly developed, each with their own unique motivations and complexities that drive the plot forward. Yevgeny, initially depicted as a ruthless and aloof patriarch, undergoes a profound transformation as his heart succumbs to Samantha's unwavering spirit. Her infectious optimism and unwavering compassion challenge his hardened exterior, forcing him to confront his inner demons and the darkness that has haunted his family for centuries. Samantha, in turn, finds solace in Yevgeny's protective embrace, gradually shedding her tough exterior to reveal the vulnerable and loving woman beneath. The novel's exploration of redemption is particularly poignant, highlighting the transformative power of love to heal even the most damaged souls. As Yevgeny and Samantha delve deeper into their forbidden romance, they discover the strength within themselves to break free from the shackles of the past and forge a future together. Moreover, "A Sinner's Sacrifice" delves into the intricate workings of a secretive organization known only as "the Family," whose sinister machinations cast an ominous shadow over the lives of its members. Rowe skillfully weaves a web of intrigue and suspense, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as Yevgeny and Samantha navigate the treacherous waters of a world where loyalty, betrayal, and the pursuit of power collide. The novel's conclusion is both satisfying and thought-provoking, providing a resolution that is both emotionally resonant and intellectually stimulating. Rowe leaves readers with a powerful message about the enduring nature of love, the importance of embracing one's true self, and the transformative power of redemption. In conclusion, Julie Rowe's "A Sinner's Sacrifice" is a literary triumph that seamlessly blends elements of romance, suspense, and redemption into a captivating and unputdownable read. With its rich characterization, intricate plot, and evocative prose, the novel captivates readers from the very first page, transporting them into a world where love and danger intertwine in a tantalizing and unforgettable embrace.

I enjoyed this book immensely! It was packed with family dynamics, thrilling mystery, suspense and surprising humor. This is the best book this author has written so far! I didn't think going in I was going to like Yvgeny Breznik from his introduction in the first book. He was dominant and controlling but we find underneath he's kind and protective and takes care of his people. He's the peacemaker in the family and in essence, cleans up all their messes. When he meets Samantha Dubets he's immediately blown away by her courage, daring and care for those who are overlooked in society. Eventually he can't fight his attraction to her. This book was a blast to read and was fully fleshed out after being set up in the first book about his NYC cab driving cousin Baz and lady cop Nika. We get to meet more of his family in the story and discover what's going on in the dingy part of New York City.

Yvgeny Breznik is an 800 year old vampire born in Slovenia who is head of the family business in New York City as well as his own hotel holdings. Law enforcement thinks he's dirty and has been trying to get a foot in the door so they can get evidence of his crimes. Unfortunately for them the Breznik family has cleaned up their various businesses and are fully legit. Yvgeny is in need of a new personal assistant after the last one died when his building was blown up by human traffickers in the first book. He hires Brian Stettler, new agent undercover for the FBI. Yvgeny lets him know he realizes he's FBI but also who's talents lie in finances and business organization. He was impressed on how he helped his mother's internet business turn a profit. He also has a medic on staff at his hotel, Samantha Dubets. He met her when she was trying to take down a vampire that killed her sister. He was impressed with her right away but realized she needed some security if she was going to be involved with the sex workers in the city.

Samantha Dubits is a former NYC paramedic who now works part-time for Yvgeny and volunteers helping the sex workers with medical issues. Several of her friends are missing and she thinks there's a serial killer loose in the city killing and snatching women, probably for the human traffickers. Yvgeny being the protector he is, gets involved with her security when she's on the streets. He's realized he is attracted to her need to help people, as well as her courage and vengeful streak that matches his. This story is packed with suspense, family interactions and humor that breaks the tension. I loved every minute of it. I can't wait for the next one!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Just dove into Julie Rowe's "Sinner's Sacrifice," the thrilling second book in the Sinners Never Die series, and it was a wild ride! Yevgeny, an 800-year-old vampire and New York CEO, and Samantha, a daring paramedic, deliver a delicious mix of vampire and mafia drama that had me hooked.

Samantha's fearless dedication to helping the city's most vulnerable, paired with Yevgeny's brooding protectiveness, creates a dynamic and fiery relationship. Their slow-burn romance amidst chaotic twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. Each chapter brought unexpected events that made it nearly impossible to guess what would come next.

Rowe brilliantly blends action, romance, and a hint of supernatural intrigue, making "Sinner's Sacrifice" a compelling read. The vampire elements add a delicious twist to the gritty, urban backdrop, providing a fresh take on the vampire romance genre.

I'm giving this captivating, fast-paced book a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It's a perfect pick for anyone who loves their romance with a side of fangs and underworld drama. Can't wait to see what's next in this series!

Many thanks to Netgalley for giving me a copy of this book!

I really enjoyed how this book blended vampire and mafia vibes together. It was a fun combination! I especially loved Sam, the main female character, who is a passionate paramedic always looking out for others. She's tough, speaks her mind, and isn't afraid to stand up for what's right. She's got some serious "badass" energy!

Then there's Yvgeny, the 800-year-old vampire who's all about protecting Sam. He's the classic "mysterious and protective" guy, and I loved the slow-burn romance between them. The chemistry was definitely there!

The book had plenty of action, and the ending was pretty crazy. After every big twist, I thought, "That’s it," but then another surprise would come up. It kept me on my toes!

Overall, this was a quick, fast-paced read. It’s the second book in the Sinners Never Die series by Julie Rowe, and I definitely recommend it if you like a mix of romance, action, and supernatural elements.

Sinner’s Sacrifice, book 2 of the Sinners Never Die series was a great continuation to the story. 3.5 star rating for me.

To be honest, I don’t remember anything from book one but I found I was able to jump back into this one and really enjoyed the setting and world building.

I love the mafia vampire vibe and found this to be a unique spin on vampires. We get a little bit of genetic talk as well which I love. This book had some great elements that made for an interesting take on a old understanding.

I really enjoyed Sam, a cutthroat and straightforward character. Very ope and sharing what is on her mind. She was definitely a damsel in distress, but you learn a lot about why she is the way that she is.

I came to like Yvgeny more in this book. he thought he had a lot more depth to him. Great character development from the first book.

That ending has me eagerly wanting to pick up book 3 to see where things might unfold further.

Thank you Netgalley and Julie Rowe for this ARC exchange for my honest review

Yvgeny is the CEO of a larger company, has an aunt who likes to mettle, a cousin who has no restraint, and an employee he can’t stop thinking about. Plus he’s eight hundred years old and a vampire. He and his family contracted the “Sweating Sickness” and the genetic code in their blood turned them vampires. Samantha works in Yvgeny’s hotel as a paramedic and takes no crap from anyone, especially Yvgeny.
When Samantha is attacked, Yvgeny moves her into his suite. She’s taken to a special clinic and blood tests are run. Her genetic code is extremely rare and now she has several different families after her. When a group invades the hotel, he hides Samantha is a safe room and there’s where she finds out what he really is. Will she accept him or run scared?
Excellent story. Action. Humor. Little bit of sex. I loved both Samantha and Yvgeny. Samantha is a hold no bars kind of woman. Yvgeny protects his family and employees.

This book was incredible!! I was sucked (pun intended) in from the beginning and you will NEVER see the ending coming!!

Yvgeny Breznik has been drawn to his on-site paramedic for weeks but knows she would never accept who he is so he does everything he can to protect her even though he appears a bit obsessed. When it becomes clear someone is trying to kidnap her his protection goes into overdrive. Yet, it seems there is a nefarious group determined to take her at any cost, and his attemps to keep her safe may cause his cover to be blown. If that happens he fears he could lose her for good.

Smart, sassy Samantha doesn't take sh*t from anyone, including her boss. But, she is beginning to see there are strange things that happen around her boss and his family that she can't quite explain or figure out. Then it suddenly becomes clear she is in danger and the man she is drawn to seems to always be there to save her. But when Yvgeny's determined enemies arrive Samantha and his entire family may not survive.

This book was filled with off the charts detail, drama and suspense. Unfortunately, there were several details and possible side plots that were introduced that were then dropped, leaving this reader wondering what happened.

I received an ARC and freely offer this review.

Sinner's Sacrifice by Julie Rowe is perfect book for a vampire romance fan.

It is an interesting couple which are vampire and paramedic. Yvgeny may seem possesive and short temper when it comes to Samantha but he also can be funny by making jokes with Sam. I have fun reading conversation between Yvgeny and Samantha. The humor make the book more easy to read. Samantha is a on site paramedic and also give free service for the sex workers which give us a different light about sex workers life.It is refreshing to have Yvgeny and Sam characters in the book.

✅ Vampire/ paramedic
✅ High sexual tension
✅ Plenty of Spicy scenes: intense and explicit
✅ Action packed
✅ Suspense
✅ Cliffhanger

I'll definitely need the next book by Julie Rowe because the cliffhanger give me a heart attack.

Yvgeny is the lovable rascal from the first novel in this series. His story is filled with as many jokes, explosions, kidnappings, and fights as one could hope.

I love this guy. He is a bit obsessed (in a good way) with Samantha, who is investigating missing women. That immediately launches the two of them into danger. No- make that Baz, Nika (yes, they’re back!), and the rest of the clan we met in the first novel.

Samantha is a fantastic fit for Yvgeny. The author writes the characters fantastically. I don’t use that word lightly. There is skill required in writing people like the ones in this series, and she does it well. The other thing she does well it take the cool parts of vampirism while not focusing on the not-so-cool parts.

Read this series. Start with book 1 - you’ll enjoy it more. But you will love this five star series.

Sinner's Sacrifice
Sinners Never Die Book 2
By Julie Rowe

I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to see who gets the next story Yvgeny Breznik has been fighting feelings for Samantha for months and they are very much like sparks flying when they actually do get together.

But you will never see the surprise at the end of the book because no matter how much the bad guys want Samantha she'll fight tooth and nail for herself and Yvgeny. However what I loved the most was how much Yvgeny cares and will do for the people Sam cares about by giving them jobs, a place to live in and the ability to stand on their own two feet.

Can both Sam and Yvgeny convince his family that they need to be careful with who you trust because they may be working for the other side that will anything they can to save their family.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review all opinions are my own.

This is a fab follow-up to the first book of the series and I love that we get Yvgeny's story. He has been repressing feelings for Sam, a female paramedic, for a while. He realizes, as the story goes along, just how much like him that she is - loyal, brave and defender of those in need... When their chemistry lets loose, look out ;P This was a page turning read for me, filled with danger, drama, humour and steam. With detailed world building, feisty and strong characters, and a wonderful romance I was hooked on this story until I hit the end. While this can be read as a stand alone, I recommend diving into book one for a richer read, as there is an over arching plot and you won't want to miss a word ;D Good fun!

While reading Sinner's Secret, the first book in this series, my favorite character was Yvegny, Baz's cousin and the dapper businessman. I really enjoyed getting to see more of him in this installment as we follow his romance with Sam, his paramedic, and the family feud over those with promising genes. Yvegny's delightful personality and loyalty to his people serve as the backbone to the story as he's investigated by the FBI, Sam is targeted by a serial killer, and a number of other crazy events take place, culminating in the surprise visit from his aunt and the other families. Those who like paranormal stories (vampires) with a touch of romance will really enjoy this story!

Sinner's Sacrifice is the second book in the new series by my all time favorite author. If you love strong heroines, action, romance and a touch of the paranormal you will love this book. Sam, a paramedic that works in a hotel finds herself mysteriously drawn to her boss, Yvgeny. He is equally surprised this spit fire who works for him is almost his mirror image, loyal to those they care about, defending those more vulnerable, and fearless. They are drawn into an issue that started in the first book, which doesn't need to be read first, but does provide a great story and background. You will not be disapointed, I highly recommend Sinner's Sacrifice as well as Sinner(the first book).

3.5 stars!!

Sinner’s Sacrifice is a fast-paced vampire (but don’t call them vampire) romance following business mogul Yvgeny and his onsite paramedic Sam. This book was action-packed, full of betrayals, secrets, kidnappings, and somehow lots of love and care for fellow humans!

I loved how the story didn’t relent in letting the characters or the readers settle in by keeping the action flowing and leaving us curious throughout!! I also love stories that follow people with a bad reputation doing good for people around them, so this was great!

I have to confess, when I requested an ARC of Sinner's Sacrifice, I didn't realise it was book 2 in a series until about a couple of chapters in when there was mention of things that had already happened... Oops... 🙈

Regardless, I really enjoyed this book! The characters' sense of humour, especially Yvgeny & Sam, was fab & gave me a few chuckles. There was plenty of action to keep me hooked and I didn't want to put it down.

I'll have to go back and read Volume 1 now, haha! 😂

Thank you to Netgalley & Julie Rowe for the opportunity to read this ARC!

4.5 Stars

In a new twist on the vampire--these vampires are the result of a disease borne genetic mutation. Although I have not classed this as a 'rom-com' there is a definite comedic thread woven through the action, violence and intrigue.

Yvgeny is an unusual hero in that while he is definitely the protective, alpha boss, he uses incentives and persuasion more readily than violence and threats. Samantha, is an interesting foil as the pragmatic and selfless medic. A few times, she teeters on the edge TSTL, but does not quite go over the line.

Another enjoyable read in the Sinners Never Die series. I loved that these 'vampires' aren't your typical kind, and I liked getting to know them more.
Much like the first book, it was filled with danger, emotions, and humour, which made the book so much more enjoyable, with cocky and kick butt characters.
I loved Yvgeny's and Sam's moments that included their verbal sparring, tender scenes, and protectiveness. These two were just perfect for each other.
I'm so curious to find out what happens in the next book, especially after that cliffhanger!

This is Yvgeny and Sam’s story, loved this read! Sam is a paramedic, when she discovers women coming up missing on the streets, she vows to find out what’s happening to them. Yvgeny considers Sam his, she works in his hotel, so she is his employee which makes her his, but is that the only way he wants her to be his!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

What I've enjoyed about this story was the arguments between Yvgeny and the other characters, especially him and Sam. Also, the action scenes.
There are plenty of tense, as well as funny, romantic moments, and some twists and turns!

I've received an ARC of this e-book from the author. All the opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Sinner's Sacrifice is the 2nd book in the Sinners Never Die series. As in the first one, the reader is dragged immediately into the action and it never lets up. Sam is an EMT and a very strong female lead. She does not easily give into Yvgeny's overprotectiveness and the road to their HEA is rocky and dangerous. I love visiting this world and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

This was a very interesting storyline. I loved the strong female characters and how they are determined to do what they want. The male characters are all about protecting those they care about no matter the cost. This was the perfect book to read on a stormy day! I really want to read the first book about the cousin.

Easy to love characters, exciting lust filled action and dangerous lifestyle with complications but splashed with family drama this book is predictable yet you find yourself becoming attached to the characters. Hard headed leading lady busting the balls of her counter part, you will find yourself rooting for them until the end.

I absolutely loved this book. About 20% in, I realized it was part 2 of a series. However, I didn't feel the need to stop and read the 1st book. I loved the relationship between Sam and Yvgeny. Funny and cute, looking forward to the next book. I love these vampires. Also, really hope the twins get a book of their own.

Sinners Sacrifice is a mishmash of mafia and paranormal romance. If you like either of these genres, you’ll find something to enjoy in this book.

This book features a strong FMC and an alpha MMC doing his best to protect a woman that don’t need no man. But Yvgeny is no man, and maybe what she needs is an 800 year old vampire.
