The Carter Cartel: Lynx Carter

Rate this book
Marital bliss, happily-ever-after, and counting racks on racks on racks… that’s the energy that should be surrounding Lynx Carter. Life should be sweet for him and his wife, Malayah. However, the universe is throwing Lynx’s world on its axis and stirring up trouble. Issues that were supposed to be buried resurfaces and could potentially threaten his happy home. Lynx also has to deal with the law trying to creep into his life. He rules his empire with an iron fist, and if he can be connected to any crimes within his organization, Lynx could be put under the jail and never again see the light of day.

Even though issues arise and chaos ensues, one thing is for certain, and two things are for sure… Lynx Carter is a fighter, and he always comes out on top. The only problem when dealing with unknown variables around him, it’s not guaranteed that everyone else in his camp will come out on top as well.

Lynx Carter’s journey will have you on the edge of your seat and holding your breath–waiting for what comes next, but you will also be able to enjoy cameos from your favorites, Gabe & the Kassom family members. It’s already a known fact… there is never a dull moment when Gabe & the Kassom’s are involved.

More like 2.5 ⭐️ Lynx did what he had to do to protect his family. Malayah got on my nerves the entire book. Gabe was a complete idiot. I cringed when his character spoke. Not even sure if I care enough to move on to book two.

1.5 🌟

Where do I begin? This book was bad from beginning to end. I really wanted to love this book, but it was a complete miss for me. There were so many 5 🌟 reviews; I wanted to get what they got, but I didn't.

I disliked almost everything about this book, from the exaggerated and sloppy plot to the characters. Gabe was the biggest turnoff. I disliked his character sooo much that I almost stopped reading. Every time he spoke, I rolled my eyes and wanted to put the book down. I understand that he was supposed to be funny, but he was not funny at all, and his parts were really overkill. Also, I really disliked the way he talked about the baby.

Malayah got on my last nerve with her stupidity. How does everybody but you get why Lynx made the decision he made? Lynx did what he had to and more to protect what was his, and I can appreciate that.

I halfway want to see what happens with Nori, given what he went through in this book. Also, I would like some resolution for Bria and Malik, but I don't want to suffer through 2 more books either. This was my first read from this author, and it was such a disappointment.

I don’t know if there was a book before this one, but this book was fast paced and often mentioned things that had happened in the past, but weren’t elaborated on in the book. Overall, I loved the humor and the action in the book. I just wish that some things were a bit more drawn out and explained because everything felt kind of rushed and too easily solved.

An ok read

This was an ok read. I guess I’m over the Gabe character. The comedy is too over the top and just seems inappropriate at times when his character should be serious.
I wasn’t a fan of Lynx’s wife. I rolled my eyes a lot when she spoke.
I did enjoy Lynx, Malik, and Nori.

Comedian or Cartel

Once again, this book was more comedian than cartel 🤔🥴‼️…after awhile Gabe’s banter and comedic antics were just annoying and frequently inappropriate. Nevertheless, ”The Carter Cartel: Lynx Carter” was a good read and had potential to be even better but there was ambiguity in the plot development and or the characters. This so called cartel family hasn’t learned from their previous careless mistakes which made them vulnerable AGAIN! …Thereafter, am I reading this book in a time capsule? Bria already left Malik. The readers just received the context to the demise of their relationship in book two. Nonetheless, he received the “Dear John” letter from Bria with an explanation to her pain. However, the audacity of Malik. I don’t understand his anger, vulgarities & deformation towards Bria, your shared daughter died 🥴🤨‼️ Yes, it was a tragic accident, but the child she carried, and prepared to birth died. That’s just heartless to dismiss her rather than seek professional help/grieve counseling! Likewise, a similar issue with Mel. In book one I questioned who’s Mel? …only to discover Mel was a blood relative. 😲 & Tiana was an employee/personal assistant🥴⁉️ You might want to outsource HR application process & or employee screenings procedures ? More so, there were still numerous inconsistencies in this second installment of the Carter’s storyline. …Hmmm 🤔🙄, maybe we’ll receive clarity in the third installment of this series. 🤷🏾‍♀️

nice very nice

Omg book 1 is so lit. Gab had me laughing my ass off in this whole book, he cared about his kids and grands but talk s**t about all of them. Boss L had to laugh at how he talk about his son and calling him demon and cartelish child lol. I’m weak about what he said what was going on in the baby room when he was tryna put clothes in his dresser. I love the way the whole fam came out cause their lively hoods so been threatening. Mel, Nat, and everybody I’m glad they are with a dirt nap. Layah was pissing me off I wanted to reach through the book at her. Bri I don’t know what to say about her she pissed me off as well but my boy gonna get it together and have a good one on his side and they cousin to. U did good on yet another book and I’m looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi while eating popcorn and while waiting on the next book to read.

GREAT READ

As serious as this book was to be, I couldn’t stop laughing at Gabe!!!…A Comedic GangStar!!!…I definitely kept going back because he was putting some phrases together!!!…
My heart broke for Bria, but I was also in my feelings because she took no accountability in her part in playing in the car and made the loss her man’s fault!!!…She did right by leaving, because she tortured him for a long time!!!…
The women in this book was definitely a force to reckon with and they showed up every single time ready to work!!!…
Malik is going to turn this pain around and the next woman is going to hold tight to him and love him for how he takes care and love her!!!…
Lynx was definitely the man and he made sure EVERYONE was good before he sat down and I RESPECT that!!!…

I NOW Own All Three Books In The Series THE CARTER CARTEL (MALIK/NORI/LYNX) as Well As the spinoffs: "THE BILLIONAIRE'S SON: CAM KASSOM" & "GIVING MY HEART TO A REAL ONE", & I'll BRB with the RECAP for EACH of the books!
I'm surprised by how invested I am in the entire series when I originally had spoke on the first three books I did so comparing them to other book series by other Urban Fiction writers.
Only after getting my local library to purchase the entire series & loan them to me did I see the series for what it became! Now I want to know about Nori, Lynx, Malik, Malayah, Cam, & the others w/o picturing or comparing them to characters from previous series I'd read from other authors!!
BRB WITH THE RECAPS......

Listen… I love this author down and i reallllly love this series. The family is so funny and unserious but let’s keep it real about this one… it pissed me. The whole book. The fmc was annoying THE WHOLE BOOK!

Anytime I crack open a book and the mmc/fmc spends THE WHOLE BOOK at odds, it’s a 1 star. Cause they literally didn’t make up til 93% in and the fmc chose to be willfully stupid and ignorant to the mmc’s sacrifice. It’s hard to believe she’s a top notch lawyer but couldn’t understand this man was doing what he had to do for literally everyone in their lives.

Anyways… I’m checking out Nori’s book next cause like I said I love all the extensions of this series but this one was a no.

Lynx

I'm so happy that I could read this book. I read Nori first, and then Malik. However, I needed the back story, which is Lynx.

Now Lynx is a sexy boss. He may be the sexiest of all bosses. He was willing to live with a trifling heifer who was trying to his organization as well as his families organization down. That's love. He did what needed to be done. Malayah wasn't rocking with it, but she knew in her heart that this had to be done. She was working off emotions instead of logic. I get that, but when you marry a boss, you know what that entails. Family first, til the casket drops.

Very good story! Absolutely loved it!!!

I liked It

This book was a good read. I was surprised that the main male character was already married, but the plot that followed was really good and different. I could feel the love and chemistry between the characters, but I did feel as if there was a lot of history between them that I missed out on. Now about Gabe. He was definitely funny at times, but for the paragraphs that he talked, maybe one or two lines were funny. Definitely overkill with him. I do look forward to Malik and Nori finding their happily ever after.

.u loved it. Malayah & Lynx!

There was so much going on! They really had a lot going against the family but when there's trouble, The Kassom's are sticking together. Natalie was certifiable and her mother too! Mel was wrong for going against the family and got dealt with but I was so sorry Nori had to be we one to handle him. He was already going through so much with Tasha! Bri has so many demons she's fighting that she can't see Malik as the man who's always been right there. Ma Lai and Gabe were hilarious. In the end love won! Great read! .

Awesome Read

My favorite person was in the story representing for the old school and GBC. My Gabe! I love him so much. I was on the floor dying at his antics. He did miss his calling of becoming a comedian though. Anyway as usual I love the story from beginning to end regardless of the way things went down. I felt as though Malaya could have been a little more understanding. Loved It! Renee G

Okay

For me this started out as a GREAT story and I was really enjoying the storyline until mess went left. For example killing an innocent man because your wife chose to flirt with him. Hell why not kill her, she was the one that owed you respect. The other thing that turned me off was putting family against family and killing your family member. The one thing I did enjoy all throughout the story was GABE CRAZY, HUMOROUS ASS, that man had me in stitches.

crazy things people do for money

Blood makes you related, loyalty makes you family! I loved me some Gabe to have a father like him has to be highlights of anybody life. The way how he loved his son law but always reminded him that he was gonna find his daughter a richer baller was hilarious. I honestly thought it was Noir that was the leak it surprised me that it was the triangle of love (I don’t wanna give it up)

Meh

Clearly there was a backstory or a book before this one that the author should’ve suggested the reader read. There were so many grammatical and structural errors in this book such as repeated sentences, misspelled words, and lack of punctuation that it made it somewhat difficult to understand. All the characters in the book with no explanation to who they were was confusing. It is evident that these characters were introduced in a previous book.

K. Renee is the TRUTH!!

Oh my goodness... this book had people asking me what is so funny. The laughs... Gabe, goodness gracious!!
This Book was filled with drama, violence and betrayal. But Malayah worked my nerves. Goodness gracious whyyyyy she had to be like that. She went too far being bratty. You knew what was up Sis when you married a BOSS!! Cuz Lynx cartelish arse is a BOSS 🔥🔥🔥.

On to the next book, yesssss... there is a high standard now for Malik's book!!

This was an ok read. I noticed that the characters came from other books before this which made it difficult to follow. Sometimes it felt the story was rushed and this author just wanted to get it over with. Gabe was hilarious at times, but I felt maybe the author could have had him with serious moments. My rating is 3.5 and I might venture back to other books from this author.

Mel really went out. He did his family so wrong. I don't understand how he thought that he could trust Natalie and her family. Bria should of been told Malik how she was feeling. Lynx Carter was the Man. He made sure he took care of his family. Malayah I understood where she was coming from. She should of put herself in his situation. Glad they made up.

The Man

Lynx is that dude. I’m glad how he bossed up and took control of the Natalie situation. Mel was foul as heck for what he tried to do to his family. Snakes in the camp for real. Ma Lai and Gabe are still crazy as ever. Bri is a piece of work and very selfish. Malik gonna boss up on her though. Good series.

Snakes all around

When your bitter ex comes back from your past and have enough dirt to send you away for life what do you do? This book is beyond great but Lynx had a decision to make and it could cost him everything. Well Ma Lai had to come help clean out the snakes with her snakes and the crew stood 10 toes deep

The Carter Cartel: Lynx Carter

K. Renee this book was an excellent read. You most definitely gave the your readers a great read. You gave us drama, lies, betrayal, Alpha Males, beautiful women and love and passion and a lot of humor. Loved this book. I can’t wait to read the other two books. I am looking forward to reading them.

WOW

I love these characters so much that I want to be part of the family. You can tell this is real writing because the plot is clear from the beginning and the story is intriguing throughout. Hate stories like this with the five page sex scenes in every other chapter to divert from the storyline.

Amazing

This book was good from the beginning of the end. I love the relationship between Lynx and Malayan. They was a very strong power couple. I love the fact that he was a loyal man even when a woman tried to sabotage him. He still stay loyal to his wife. My favorite character in the book was Gabe That man had me crying tears.

I was prepared for this title to be a little heavy since it was dealing with the cartel. NOT!!!!!!! Now there will be some points that your mouth will drop. You will definitely put your investigator hat on. You will definitely want to put your black on and grab your ski mask. But most of all prepare yourself to laugh! I have never laughed at a gangster book before. Thank you K Renee!

Life

Lynx and Malayah loved and needed each other. Betrayal by a family hurts more than anything else.
Love prevails and life goes on. You have to take the good with bad.

Well

Gabe was funny but talked too much. Malik deserved so much more. I get that she went through it physically but yeah her behavior wasn’t ok and then to not seek help? No. Malayah…she was annoying from the beginning until the end. I wished for her character growth sooner.
