Bible Study Perfect for beginning discipleship

I just finished reading through this in preparation for discipling a young believer.

I like this study book much more than Growing in Christ: A 13-Week Course for New and Growing Christians which I have used three times in the past to disciple younger believers.

This course is a bit deeper and more comprehensive. Completely biblical.

This study is meant to be done with the on-going help of a more mature believer. If you don't have a godly spiritual mentor, ask your pastor for a recommendation. It makes all the difference!

Follow this study with a much more in-depth discipling course Continue: A Biblical Journey in Personal Discipleship.

It's likely that my husband and I will use this book as a resource for new believers in our church. I decided to go through it myself and found it very helpful. It's a little bit repetitive in the beginning in regards to salvation (but I understand why that's necessary). I also think it's a lot of Scripture verses to look up and "fill in the blank"... Might be a bit overwhelming for a new believer who doesn't know their way around the Bible. This book might be more effective if it's done as a Bible study with an older Christian to guide, explain, and answer any questions. Overall, a helpful little book and a great resource.

I loved this book. I picked it up at church and read it in two or three days. the Bible reading schedule in the back of the book is also pretty cool. I was going to give this copy away but I might keep it for myself and do all of the activities in it.

I do understand that at times the book could potentially dive a little deeper into the topics mentioned, however I do not think that this book is meant to be a comprehensive “textbook.” Rather, this is a guide for the counselor to build upon, and it works excellently for that purpose.

I wanted to love this book after reading paid in full but this book was really repetitive in an unhelpful way. Though I did get some good info from it, overall I think there are better books with similar info.
