The second book is ok; however, it's not nearly as good as the first one. In fact, when I read the first couple of chapters, I almost just quit reading. But I plowed through, and it slowly got a little better. But I'm undecided as to whether or not I'll continue to the third book... maybe later.
Complete switch in narrative and storyline from what book one prepares you for. It's such a rapid change that it's all of a sudden disorientating. Two stars because the change in narrative seems like work by an altogether different author, who didn't bother with the foundation set by the first book.
Yeah, it’s ok. Kinda growing on me. Characters still flat & stereotypical. Dialog still cringeworthy. But the plot is interesting. I will go on to read #3. Sometimes you just need some eye candy (or ear candy in my case as I’m listening to audiobooks).
