HER group of friend's meet up regularly, sort out their problems Beatrice, notices that Alice (WHO dreams to open a gallery) is looking worried she explains that she has been corresponding with a wealthy duke never having met him, he may help with her art gallery. ( ONLY HE'S ASKED HER TO MARRY HIM) and she said yes and needs help to break it off - Beatrice offers to meet him pretending to be Alice (AS THEY HAVE NEVER SPOKEN OR MET). DUKE CHARLES - Know as (THE RUTHLESS DUKE) he has his own reasons for this quick marriage to someone he does not know. BRILLIANT CHARACTERS ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT BEATRICE IS BRILLIANT MADE ME LAUGH - CHARLES WAS TO DIE LOVED HIM - THEIR FIRST MEETING IN THE CAFE IS HILARIOUS AND IT JUST GETS BETTER. LOTS GOING ON IN THIS SOME QUITE HOT MOMENTS AND SOME NOT VERY NICE PEOPLE - I READ BOOK ONE LOVED IT WILL DEFINITELY READ REST OF SERIES. Read the prequel at the beginning Arabella story. I received an ARC copy
I wanted to like this but I had to read the prologue twice. That's after reading the pre-quel short from the author to explain the sister 's story. There was a line directed to Alice that should have been to Beatrice..Anyway once you get through the prologue, the story picks up well.I really liked the plot. I did have trouble with the setting. I initially thought it was Regency but the heroine regularly wore breeches with no reaction from anyone. The term social butterfly was used. A high ranking nobile was carted off by constables but wouldn't have he been tried in the House of Lords? So, finally I decided the setting was some time in the past during some war. There was a scene where there was a request to distinguish a maze from a labyrinth, followed by the comment or was a hedge maze. Clarify them muddy. These inconsistencies marred my enjoyment.
I loved this book! I love how she is so excited to help her cousin break things off with the duke and I love how es him. I love that he finds her attractive she sees him. I love that he finds her attractive even though she's trying to make him not like her. I love how they both are unable to deny their attraction and end up working together. I love how close they get and I love how she can't manage to hold her tongue around fake people. I absolutely love how she reacted to the Dukes family when they were making comments and trying to mess with the Dukes feelings. I love how they eventually marry and live life together.
What a fantastic read this was.Book 2 of A Lady’s Pact was as good as the first Book. With mayhem from family members and love in the mix.well written and the storyline was sensational. Now hoping I get to read the rest of this series, all who read should enjoy like I have. The Extended Epilogue was also a delightful finish to this story.
This book has everything. Love laughs, tears, evil relatives, friends and enemies. I loved Charles, the Ruthless Duke, and Beatrice the social butterfly. Two opposites that were completely attracted to one another. Stephen, the Duke’s best friend was a hoot. Great storyline. I would like to have seen a happy ending for Arabella as well.
Beatrice and Charles story is the conclusion of the previous book telling Alice story. It's well written and Will have you feeling good I enjoyed it so much that I read it in one go if you haven't read the first book I would recommend that you read it first.
Three Nights With The Ruthless Duke by Maybel Bardot is a fun book filled with every emotion imaginable. This is a well written book of Intrigue and angst. A must read.
This book has all the right elements to make a great story that you will not want to put down! It is one that can be read again and still be enjoyable! A couple of editing niggles that should not have been missed causing a hiccough in the flow but … no one’s perfect!
I Loved this story, inspite of the errors in it. (I am getting used to the errors). The main characters were believable and strong. I would like to know what happened to Belle, did her Major come back? What a lovely, happy ending! Well done.
