i had this long ass, detailed review typed out but my phone glitched and it fucking deleted and honestly after all this i don’t feel like retyping it all. so let’s sum it up. first of all 2.5 stars. the book started pretty okay but as it progressed it got worse. i have a million questions and most of them are some variation of wtf and why. this book would’ve been so much better if it was longer, more detailed, had better communication, and had better character development. our FMC was so fucking immature. she ran away from every tiny fucking problem. the spicy scenes weren’t bad and now

‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
SPOILER SECTION. DONT READ PAST HERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO HEAR MY THOUGHTS THAT CONTAIN SPOILERS
‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

1) elowyn supposedly has a stalker that we have like 0 info on. she took the job with the band so he couldn’t find her. first of all i don’t think a true stalker would give up that easily esp not after your picture gets leaked to the press. i fully expected him to show up or send her some shit but he never did. he just ceased to exist. we also have no idea why she thought she was being stalked fr.

2) ok so elowyn has worked here for 4 fucking years and avi randomly sees her and falls in love at first sight bc she looks like a red headed version of his dead fiancée ??? takes her on 3 “friend dates” in 3 days then she leaves for 4 years bc they get photographed together and he gets so addicted to ketamine so bad he dies twice and has to go to rehab?

3) while he’s in rehab elowyn is staying with his band mate, lake, and lake reckons it’s totally acceptable to eat her 🐱 while avi is in rehab to get off a drug he started taking to hallucinate elowyn so it was like she never left.

4) after rehab, lake pretty much just tells avi that elowyn is theirs together and avi and elowyn just like are ok with it. little to no communication ever

5) robin is a shit friend to elowyn on god. she was more upset the band was going to break up over avi’s addiction than she cared ab the actual addiction or anyone else. she told elowyn his addiction was her fault and she needed to go fix it💀

6) also his “road to recovery” was a night of horror at home after the OD then 10 days in rehab and he was all of a sudden 100% better. unrealistic as fuck

This book was all over the place, and didnt really go into detail about what’s going on. There was so many different stories within the book that really had no reason to even be there.

A man falls in love with a girl that looks like his dead fiancé and shares her with another man 😑

The writing was very rushed. Felt like the history of how the characters met was rushed and was not interesting to the author herself. Only erotic scenes had details and depth. It looks like the author was writing this book just for the smut and had no interest in the characters' history and relationships 😕 Also hated how the main female character was portrayed. Like she was there just to please them, and every time something happened, she would just freak out and try or actually leave. After leaving, she would just fall back into their arms🤦🏼‍♀️

Truly didn't enjoy this book 😔

This book lacked a story and got boring at times but at least the spice was on point 🫢

A why choose that left me with more questions than answers. Some steam but there was little background to the sharing of the FMC by the two band member. I mean I can join the dots but they were swearing it was ‘more than’ so why now?
So many questions about one character’s addiction, the other’s wanting the FMC, and there was a stalker of the FMC who we knew really nothing about and the story line just fizzled. What?

I absolutely loved this book. Elowyn worked as a tech rodie for years on the tours and that day Avi thought he saw his ex fiancé in Elowyn but it wasn’t her, so at first he wanted to be friends with her because of the similar features but he was also into drug usage. Elowyn didn’t want to be friends at first because of the publicity; she had a stalker out there she thought that was still looking for her but they haven’t since she’s been on the road and one picture of her and Avi at the Habachi restaurant has her packing for home. 4 years later she hears from Barry that Avi OD on drugs and she feels guilty so she returns. A lot of things happened and Avi gets better and Lake joins the picture; he and Avi always shared and now they are sharing Elowyn… there’s some misunderstanding but they get over it and they become monogamous and exclusive just the three of them. I gotta admit my favorite is Avi because after all he’s been through, his fiancé dying, being alone, one night stands, Elowyn leaving, having died two times, going to withdrawals and rehab. He has made a great character development. For Elowyn at first I thought she was childish because she left as soon as her photo got posted then she left again for 2 weeks when she thought both Avi and Lake lied to her about Avi not being able to have kids because Avi got sued for a paternity suit which he told her before they had sex that he had a vasectomy years ago and can’t have kids. Lake is such a sweetheart I love him☺️ Barry, Pete, and Zenith are such good side characters and I can’t wait to read Pete’s book next in the series😁

DNF'ed at 75% because I just didn't care enough to continue.

The whole book is pretty juvenile, from the writing style to the character's relationships, even though they are all (I think) in their late 20s for the majority of the book.

My biggest beef is that there was such a lack of communication, and I'll hide the rest behind a spoiler...

It's shocking to me that this is a series but I guess that explains why we never hear another word about the stalker after it's a main theme of the first 50% of the book. I also didn't love that MMC1 was originally obsessed with the FMC because he thought she looked like his dead highschool GF.

This is the first A.D. Craig novella that I can honestly say left me wanting and disappointed. I love A.D. Craig's works, and this is the first letdown I've had.

The writing itself is great as always. There is nothing I can say or want to say to take away from the writing. And it was still an easy to read book, which I love about these novellas.

Honestly, I had more questions than answers because it was why I chose. I felt no chemistry, no heat, no steam, nothing. I had questions about one members addiction and the others' actual feelings. Let's not talk about this stalker that suddenly seemed to appear.

For me personally, it felt like A.D. Craig skipped over, plotting out this book, and just wrote whatever came to mind . It was this disjointed novella that doesn't really work and is full of plot holes.

Book 2 of this series is already out, and I have read it, and it is so much better. I honestly could have skipped this one and just stuck with book 2. Book 3 comes out soon, and I am looking forward to reading it.

📖Summary: 👑The Queen of Two Hearts by A.D. Craig is a why-choose, rockstar romance. It follows a band, The Indie Hearts, while on tour. A crew member, Elowyn, finds herself forming a friendship with the lead singer🎤, Avi, but the risk of being in the spotlight proves too much. Elowyn leaves her crew position to go to college until news of Avi’s overdose and the imminent breakup of the band reaches her. Elowyn reconnects with Avi to try to help him in recovery and grows close with Avi’s best friend (and drummer 🥁 of The Indie Hearts), Lake. How will the three navigate such a difficult time along with budding romances? 🤔

💭Thoughts:✨ I loved this book! ✨I have never read a why choose romance before, and I’m so glad this was my first one. There was a unique chemistry between each of the characters, and it felt so natural between them despite the unconventional relationship. The plot also dealt with challenging topics such as death and drug use without it overwhelming the story.

🎸If you’re interested in a smutty, rockstar, why-choose romance, then definitely check out this book! It’s a pretty quick read and well worth it.

While this book did seem to go in many different directions and I was left with questions about the stalker. I felt like the author closed a lot of other questions. I felt like the 3 main character fit well with each other and the chemistry was there and love for each other was there! Also spoilers the scene when lake caught Lo LISTENING😜😜to her audio book and unplugged it probably the single most embarrassing thing a audio book girly could have happened but then it turned to every audio and book girlies dream when he told he would reenact the scene she liked the most!!! Ahhhh I was screaming and laughing!!!! The banter was amazing I loved it!

It was a quick read, but the writing was not great. The story felt like it jumped around a lot and was comical the way some of the lines in the story were written. I hated the FMC. She annoyed me a lot with how she would jump to conclusions before communicating how she felt and would constantly run away. There was also a 'stalker' that was constantly mentioned for about half the book, but we have no idea who the stalker was, why they were stalking her, or why they eventually stopped stalking her.

i never leave reviews, & i always say that no matter what writing a book is impressive. however….this was exceptionally bad. there was no story development, no character development, insta love to the extreme with corny characters that don’t speak like real life humans. there were also countless typos & sentences that didn’t make sense. if i wasn’t reading it to satisfy a challenge prompt i would’ve DNF-ed at page 3. ive read better books on wattpad when i was 14. 1 ⭐️ because technically i finished it

Gimme, gimme more!

Of Avi, Lo and Lake!

I read the Lovely Oblivion series written by this author and I was so ready to jump right into Queen of two Hearts. It did not disappoint. With rockstar drama and enough sexy times to keep me reading until VERY late in the night. It’s 5 stars from me!!!

I love the story and the storyline, but I wish there was more of the story. I'm a big fan of reverse harem stories, but I love the long ones the most. I wish there was more information about the starker that was mentioned over and over again. I really feel like we are missing a lot of information from the overall whole story

Something missing...

The idea of this story kept me from DNFing it. It had so much potential to be great, but the writing was stilted, which inhibited much needed plot and character development. Had this been cowritted with a more descriptive author, this could have been terrific. As it stands, it feels like light erotica written by a 15 year old.

Not sure if I loved this book or not

On the one hand, I laughed through it. Spice was really good. But. The recovery seemed simplistic and rather unbelievable. The reaction to the third act was also rather suspect. And the finale was completely out of character for the fmc.
An enjoyable read non the less

This book could have been an email. It started out decent. But it was all over the place and the FMC was annoying. Never tried to face the issues head on and always runs away. Also, stalker where? Briefly mentioned in the beginning and I was hoping to see what would happen with it. Nothing, that’s what happened.

it was going ok until the miscommunication. the fmc was so annoying. she freaks out over a tabloid when its clearly fake and then ups and disappears when she thinks one of the guy lied to her. then he said no i didnt. then all is forgiven again. just no. so ridiculous and unbelievable.

I loved the characters, most of the time. I do wish they would have expanded on Elowyns stalker and added a sense of suspense and drama in that aspect instead of just using it as a passing thought/reason for her to leave. Overall, I liked the book a lot. Love a happy ending.

Just not even sure there's even a story here. It's all over the place, loads of bits could have been expanded on, it feels like half a job.

He sees a girl twice then drives himself into the ground over a 4 year period for her? Eh?!

DNF page 118.

Was determined to make the end as its so short, but I just couldn't do it. Felt like a 'mehh' wattpad story.
For a story with addiction as a topic, it needed to be so much more. Literally everything could have been built way more, everything's just so rushed.

This book was all over the place, the FMC was annoying at best and lacked substance. The author never followed through with storylines or delved deep enough in some areas. There was a little spice but no depth to the relationships between the FMC and two MMCs
