I'm a woman on the way up. My brother's best friend is the glass ceiling. In my last year at Harvard Law School, I'm in an internship at the firm of my dreams. My main my brother's charming, handsome--cutthroat--best friend. I'm the only one who's onto him. Everyone else only sees how smooth and confident he is. I grew up with him and I know where that confidence comes from. He'll smile in your face and fight dirty behind your back. If he takes this job, I lose everything I've worked for. So I'll ignore his gorgeous looks and his smoking hot body, and be ready for his sleazy schemes. I've played by the rules 'til now, but for him, I'll throw the rules out. And if he thinks the way to this job is through my heart, he's in for a big surprise. Ruthless Rival is a standalone new adult romance with a HEA and NO cheating!
The Thin Line Between Love And Hate - Lucy and Owen’s relationship had been tumultuous growing up with him as her older brother’s best friend, so she wasn’t pleased to see him on the first day of her internship or to find out he was also an intern and they would be competing for the single position available. Lucy was aware of Owen’s antic and she wasn’t surprised when he started creating problems and blaming her. However, they soon realised there was a connection between them, after a horrendous incident with their boss, where Owen had to defend Lucy, led to a highly sexually charged encounter between. This took them on a path of personal growth and determination to strive for a better future.
This story was really believable, as what happened to Lucy is an ongoing issue that continues to happen to many women in the workplace today. The storyline had real depth and I was pleasantly surprised and happy to see the decision Owen made to ensure their futures were secured, as reporting the matter wouldn’t have guaranteed a resolution to their satisfaction. I really enjoyed reading this story and I will be happy to recommend this book for your reading pleasure.

Lucy and Owens story definitely has many tropes but it is not overwhelming you with them. It has the brothers best friend, workplace romance, enemies to lovers, and sexual harassment in the workplace. *Check TW*
I really enjoyed Lucy's character from the very beginning although I do really think that she should have made Owen grovel quite a bit more than what she did. But that's just my personal opinion on that matter. Lucy is a take no shit, fiery, and headstrong woman. She is definitely the type that I would love to be friends with in the real life. I think that I agree with Rachel, Lucy's best friend/roommate, on how she's looking on the outside of Lucy and Owen's relationship.
Owen was an asshole from the very beginning and he did not hide it. I really did not care too much for his character in the beginning but by the end of the book I enjoyed him somewhat. He's not my favorite book boyfriend but he's also not my least. The way he stands up for Lucy at the bar is amazing and I think it was going in the right direction but I do still think he deserves to do more groveling.
Owen is underhanded & a lying cheat. He'll literally do anything to climb up the corporate ladder & get the lawyer's internship position at Dean & Valiant. What he didn't plan on was having to compete with Lucy for the internship. They have hated each other as children when Owen & her brother became best friends. Lucy is undermined with Owen's tactics & she's frustrated enough to the point of quitting. Throw in sexual harassment towards Lucy & this story has become an interesting twist for Owen & Lucy. From sworn enemies to lovers, you'll have to read this one to see how smoothly this author transitions their emotions with forgiveness, protectiveness & seeing each other in a different light.
This is my first story I read by this author & I'm looking forward in continuing to read more novels written by Erica Frost.
I volunteered to read this ARC & leave an honest review.
Lucy has her dream comes true when she lands an internship, until she finds that her brothers best friend Owen, is also an intern there, and to make it worst they must compete against each other for the same job. These two have always had a love / hate relationship, and they continually butt heads. I was not too keen on Own to start with, but he did manage to redeem himself as the story developed. The chemistry between these two is combustible and undeniable, but can they move on from enemies / lovers? This is a well written story which is filled with angst, emotions, humor, witty banter, and is an entertaining and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this author and I recommend her work. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Far out - the enemies to lovers aspects were strong in this book. I couldn’t put the book down initially, as the angst factor was so strong, but somehow the author managed to sway my view of Owen from hate to love. The character and relationship development was great, and the steamy scenes were the icing on the cake.

Lucy and Owen had hated each other practically all their lives, now they're both interns chasing the same job. Owen wants this job and he'll use every dirty trick to make Lucy look lazy and incompetent, but something shifts in him when he overheard one of the partners proposition her to keep her internship knowing he had put her in that situation.

This is a fun and engaging read with two main characters who are at odds in vying for a prestigious opportunity. The hero seems to be unredeemable while the heroine refuses to stoop to his levels, however, there is a chance at a HEA> I liked this read. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review,
Owen needs a throat punch he is a shady dude. He is self serving and does Lucy wrong. He is also her brother's best friend. This was real enemies to lovers story. Erica did a great job making you hate him

This story is about to people who are completing for the same job in law firm with a boss who thinks women are only good for one thing and they find true love while finding their dreams come true
This book had me hooked from the first chapter, I couldn't put it down. There are some of my favorite tropes in this book enemies to lovers, brother best friend, and office romance. They were all executed beautifully. Owen and Lucy are working as interns but only one of them will be offered a job at the end of the Summer. Owen is determined to win that position, regardless of what he has to do. He lies and steals work from Lucy; he just generally makes Lucy look bad. Lucy on the other hand works hard but her boss is a chauvinist and really doesn't care what Owen is doing. At first it seems like Owen is beyond hope, doing almost anything to put Lucy in a bad light that is until he heard one of the partners' proposition her so that she could keep her internship then something shifted in him and he knew he had to do something to make things right. The push and pull between these two was definitely felt. I loved how Lucy's claws came out every time Owen was around. Eventually they scratched that itch and that itch developed into more and they got their happy ending. This was a really enjoyable read.

This book was a true enemies to lovers book. Owen was determined to get the job no matter what. I really didn't like him at first but as the book went on i found my opinion changing. This is a good book and a must read.
Ruthless Rival for a reason, right?? Owen is downright ruthless! A great enemies-to-lovers story! Will Own and Lucy find their happily ever after? I can't wait to read book 2.
The great plot was beautifully written, and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!
To be honest, I couldn’t figure out how Lucy would want to be with Owen in any capacity as he was such a jerk. However, I kept reading and Owen eventually redeems himself and by the end of the story, I was happy that he and Lucy was together. As stories go, this one was entertaining though I kept shaking my head over Owen. There is chemistry between Lucy and Owen and there are some pretty entertaining conversations between them!

A Love Born Out Of Despair - The last thing Sandra expected when she was kidnapped, was to find herself intensely attracted to her kidnapper. Andrei’s only goal was to take over the Andronov territory, so the last thing he expected was to be attracted to Sandra whilst he was keeping her captive. Even though they continued their relationship in secret after she was released, the last thing they expected was for anyone to find out their secret and use it against them.
Unfortunately, this caused friction between them and their families, that is until the misunderstanding was cleared up. However, their decision to seek vengeance on their mutual enemy didn’t go as planned and this ultimately caused the revelation of their secret, which caused dire consequences for them. As luck would have it, Sandra’s twin sister felt guilty about what her parents did and decided to help Andrei and Sandra get back on track towards a happy and fulfilling life together.
Warning! If you have a faint heart and you are not prepared to experience one heck of a rollercoaster ride as you turn the pages, then this book isn’t for you. However, if you want to find yourself totally engrossed in a mind blowing story, that will entertain you and leave you thirsting for more, then I urge you to grab a copy of this book now, as if will definitely be worth your time.

Owen has the reputation of being a bad boy and he is Lucy’s brothers best friend. Lucy and Owen find themselves in competition for the same job. It was a good read with good character development and a happy ending. I received a arc copy of this book for my honest review.
