Fake Fiancé at First Sight

Rate this book
I can't believe I'm at the point in my life where I need to convince a stranger to pretend to be my fiancée. My publicist came up with the idea to hire a fake fiancée to improve my bad-boy reputation and “win over the hearts and minds of fans.” But I'm the one who impulsively decided to bring one home with me for my brother's vow renewal. Because the only people I’m interested in “winning over” are my small-town family. There’s just something about this woman that makes me want to be on my best behavior. I’m becoming more and more drawn to her with every touch. Suddenly, nothing about our arrangement feels fake . But I’m not convinced she’ll ever see me as anything more than a lie. I’m not sure I’m even good enough for her … but everything in me wants to be the man she deserves. Now it’s no longer just about winning over my family’s heart, but winning over hers . Fake Fiancé at First Sight is a small-town, fake fiancé, celebrity rockstar romantic comedy full of sizzling chemistry while keeping the bedroom door closed. It's the fourth and final standalone story in Kristine W. Joy's sweet romcom series following the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch.

A fun, sweet fake engagement story!

A famous country singer needs to improve his image so he asks the sweet coffee shop girl to be his fake fiancé while he goes to his brother’s wedding. She says yes because what does she have to lose?

I liked the characters and how they interacted. It didn’t feel like insta-love to me. There were issues the guy had to work through with his family which added some depth.

Nothing stood out to make it higher than a 3 star for me.

There was no language and it was totally clean. The characters kiss twice.

Would recommend!

i’m sorry, but this has been done before and it’s been done better.

i don’t read contemporary romances to read the best book i’ve ever read, but i like to be decently surprised, and this book lacked any elements that could’ve left me pleasantly surprised.

it’s almost impossible to write an “original” book nowadays with “tropes” taking the world by a storm, and i get that, but like…some books are trope-ier than others and this was unfortunately one of those books.

the characters were flat and had no chemistry, the dialogue was elementary. the story was clunky and the conflicts wrapped up way too quickly.

and the INSTA LOVE. i mean don’t get me started. they “fell in love” on day 1 because she was not like other girls.

also, the summary failed to mention that they’re both divorced and he’s a dead-beat dad that thinks everyone else is the problem, when really he’s been the issue all along. he thought he needed a fake fiancé to fix his problems, but really he needed to just face some facts and be a man.

and the kissing actually sucked, and unfortunately, no other elements of the story could’ve made up for that fact.

i was bored the whole time, except when i was laughing at how cheesy it was. i read it in one sitting, though, hoping it would get better all the while.

i unfortunately would not recommend this book.

Wade is a wild rock star looking to shape up so he can get his son back.
Callie is a writer with a serious case of writers block.
A chance meeting in a coffeehouse sets these two (three, lets not forget Bear) on a trip that can o ly end one way. Will it be heartache or true love?

Fake Fiancé at First Sight takes us back to the Lucky Seven Ranch so we get to revisit all of out favorite people.

One of my favorite things about this series is the family, what a wonderful, supportive, loving group of people. Reading any of these books is really like finding home.

If only I could be as brave as Callie. There is no way I would allow myself to take that adventure.

I love that there is really no 3rd Act breakup, can they break up if they weren't really together? Or when someone leaves a letter like that???

This is disappointing.

The characters are flat; the chemistry is non-existent; there's more telling than showing; the dialogue is mechanical; and the conflicts wrap up quickly, as if following a sequence of steps in a flowchart. Nothing is angsty enough. It's poorly written.

I've seen this same plot in a million books, so it's not very original either to keep reading for the novelty of it.

Oh, and it's not mentioned in the blurb, but they're both divorced, and he's an irresponsible single dad.

I wouldn't recommend this book.

What a fun clean romance! Wade is a reckless rockstar that needs to clean up his act to have a chance to see his son again. Callie is a writer stuck in a writers block. Wade needs a fake fiancé to convince everybody he is turning his life around, and Callie needs an adventure to get out of the slump and fate gets them together in the most magnificent way.

Fake Fiance At First Sight is a sweet, dual pov, beautiful, funny, heartwarming, special, and fantastic story!!! I am obsessed with this clean romantic comedy! It captured my heart and had me swooning the whole time! It simply made my heart so happy it felt like bursting! This romance is so cute and the characters are perfection! I highly recommend this book! It is the fourth in a series, but each can be read as standalones. I am definitely adding all of this author's books to my tbr! She is incredible!

Wade is a rockstar who has made his fair share of mistakes. If he ever wants to gain custody of his son again, he needs to clean up his act or at least make it appear like he is. Some fake publicity stunts are the perfect solution to impressing the public in his manager's eyes. The only problem is that Wade doesn't care about impressing the public. He only cares about impressing his family who he hasn't seen in over a year. On his way home for his brother's wedding Wade meets Callie. Callie has no idea who Wade is which makes her the perfect fake finance in Wade's eyes. After convincing her that it will help with her writer's block and telling her his desire to impress his family she agrees. Wade lays out on cocky condition: "I need somebody who isn't going to fall in love with me". How hard could that be?

As Wade and Callie spend more time together they begin to see the truest version of each other. Callie is incredibly compassionate. Wade is not the bad guy the media paints him out to be. He is a good guy who is just a little lost. The more time they spend together the more something becomes clear to each of them; Callie and Wade are secretly falling for each other and both are to scared of being burnt to admit it.

I love Callie's sweet, quirky, and funny personality! She is fabulous! Her dog Bear has my heart and was the perfect addition to the family! Their relationship was the perfect testament to the fact that dogs really are family. Bear definitely is the MVP of the story! Callie is a genuinely amazing person. She is the type of girl you want to be your best friend. Her and Wade's romance is founded on friendship and an undeniably hot chemistry! This romance is clean, but full of smoldering kisses! I am here for it!

Spice: 🌶️- light kissing
Chemistry: 🧪🧪🧪🧪🧪
Plot: 5/5

Series: Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch #4

Place: Roberta, TX

Tropes: small-town, fake fiancé, celebrity rockstar, romantic comedy, Closed Door Romance, Family Ranch, found family, He Fell First, Love At First Sight, Single Dad

TW: Drug Abuse, Alcoholism, Abandonment

Main Characters: Allie & Wade

There is nothing I love more than a love at first sight romance that takes you to a small town where there is a family ranch. It brings back so many memories of small town living on a farm and small ranch that I grew up on. Being from Arkansas I could totally see and fell everything she described. Living in Texas I totally see and feel all the references Wade made throughout the book.

Being able to immerse yourself within the environment in a book is like nothing else. You can almost see it playing as a movie in your head. This is what I always hope for when I read a book. If it can play like a movie then you know you are in the right book. FFAFS accomplished this and so much more for me. I got into my feelings throughout the book, and felt all the feelings between these two.

I wish we could have gotten a little bit more about Callie and her writing along with Wade and his previous albums being made. Maybe a more of an insight for what they did to make everything happen. Even without more of each I still loved this book.

I loved how willing and open Callie was when she felt like she couldn't be with many other people. I also felt the same with Wade. I would have loved more about Cooper and his relationship with Callie once they were really together. I think that it could have shown how much their lives have changed for the better and how they were able to become a family.

Callie and Wade couldn't have been more perfect for each other. They were the exact match of what each other needed. Even when they didn't know it.

Book 4 in the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch Series - Wade and Callie are so cute and magnetic it’s hard to not have a huge grin on my face while reading their interactions together. They definitely have my heart 💕 I love all the Lewis couples but Wade and Callie unexpectedly stole my heart.

Both MCs have had rough pasts that have made them much more guarded now. However, something draws them to one another, and they have a connection that neither have ever felt before. They make each other feel seen, heard, understood, and valued. 💕 They help one another and become a team from day one. Callie is also pretty fantastic at making Wade laughing because she’s so goofy. Callie pushes Wade, helping him see what he’s completely blind to because of his own projections. She reminds him that he’s not flawed beyond repair and in fact, he has a lot of people who love and miss him. 💕 There is so much redemption in this book, it’s truly heartwarming.

Also, that epilogue was so freaking cute. I died. All of the Lewis brothers, wives, and their parents together just enjoying one another’s company 😭 I loved seeing all the character’s’ personalities in one room 😂🤭 they are all unique and all of them have VERY big personalities. I really loved that throughout this book we got a lot more of the Lewis family supporting one another and razing each other.

This is a closed door romcom with some passionate, descriptive kissing. There is no cursing.

This book is a lovely finale to a sweet series. I really enjoyed it. Wade, a famous musician, had become rather infamous for bad decisions. “I love my kid, but I hate that I’m his dad, because I’m no role model for him.” Because of this, he was embroiled in a custody dispute with his ex-wife over his son, and had been avoiding his family out of embarrassment. Going home for a special event, he asked Callie, a writer he met in a coffee shop, to pose as his fiancée. As they became further embedded in the lie, their feelings grew and the relationship started to feel less and less fake. But with a foundation built on a lie, there was only so much pressure it could take before it cracked. I enjoy a good redemption story, and Wade’s turnaround certainly qualified. His past mistakes added depth and layers to his character. And Callie had a few layers of her own. Their relationship growth was sweet. I liked seeing all the family characters from the previous books and loved the family interactions. I also appreciated how the ex-wife, as wrong for Wade as she was, wasn’t actually made out to be a villain, and Wade came to terms with his culpability in the antagonism, and her struggles. “I’ve spent so much time blaming Harper and being mad at Harper…when the only person responsible for all of this is me.” Wade’s reconnection with his family was heartwarming, as was Callie, who had very little family of her own, being welcomed into the circle. It was a lovely story and swoony romance. The epilogue was a nice bow to wrap the series up with. This is the final book in a four-book series. Since the family characters carryover, I’d suggest reading all the books in order, but this can work as a standalone. This is a closed door story with strongly descriptive kissing (tongue) and moderate innuendo. There is no harsh language.

If you haven’t been reading this absolutely marvelous series from Kristine, what are you even doing?? These Lucky Seven Ranch boys are finding love in the most fascinating and hilarious ways possible and you need them in your life. Like always, family is important but it’s the love journey that teaches them to understand their worth and their capacity to care for others. Wade has always seen himself as outside his family and different from his brothers since he isn’t a cowboy by profession. But his music is what makes him special and gives him purpose. Meeting Callie opens his eyes to what life could look like if he lets people, especially her, into it. I loved the good conversations, snappy banter, family dynamics and swoony love story that didn’t go through a “third act breakup”, though they did have a “what do you want?” moment. The found family aspect was so beautiful here because they both needed to choose to belong with the family that wanted them. Definitely pick up a copy of this delightful read, it’s one I’m positive romance readers will adore.

I already read one of the previous books in this series, so it was fun to return to the ranch. Tropes include fake relationship, rock star romance, and reformed bad boy.

I love fake relationships because it builds a secret bond between two people trying specifically to NOT form a bond. And these two already had an instant connection, though they are quick to stash it behind everything else. I loved the heroine being an indie author who loves dogs and plants. It was also great that she had darkness in her past and wasn't just an innocent to counter the hero's more bad boy background. I also liked that he's already on his path to being a better man when he meets her and she's an encouragor rather than a catalyst. Both of them were divorced, unfortunately, but there was no chance of reconciliation with their first spouses since his remarried and hers was a cheater.

Note to more sensitive readers: some innuendos.

A fun rom-com with favorite tropes.

This one was so fun! The fake relationship, the single dad, the small town romance... so good!!

Callie and Wade are so great together and I loved their banter! They had this undeniable draw to each other and I love that they had so much in common and could relate to each other on a different level because of it. Callie was spunky and fun and Wade was more than what meets the eye. They had these sweet moments, especially when they are writing songs together. And this incredible tension. I loved all the layers to their romance story.

I knew from the beginning the character growth was going to be so great. There was so much that was relatable in Wade's growth that can resonate with many people. I loved that his family was there for him despite his inclination to think he was alone in the world. I loved the wrap up to this series and thought it was a great way to end this series. Kristine W Joy really knows how to write tension and strong families.

Wade is a country rock star with a reputation in need of repairing and family relationships in need of rekindling.
Callie is an author struggling to write her next book, perhaps a change of scenery and the bizarre proposal of a guy in a coffee shop will jump start her creative juices…

I literally did not put this book down today. I started it this morning, politely asked my husband for coffee and sustenance as needed and sanitized my kindle after necessary, but highly unwelcome bathroom breaks.

I loved this countryrock star/home town girl, fake fiancé, single dad, quick burn, quick read. The banter was witty and perfect. It was full of sizzle with no spice. I also adored how perfect Callie was with Wades family and getting to see how she facilitated him becoming more comfortable with his own roles within his family.

This is the fourth and final book in the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch series but can be read as a standalone.

Thank you to the author for an ARC of this novel. My opinions are my own.

Fake Fiancé at First Sight is the fourth and final book in the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch series. While I would definitely recommend reading this entire series, this can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

This series is definitely a favorite for me! I've loved getting to watch each of these unique brothers getting their happily ever after. With every book, I found myself thinking it couldn't get any better and that THIS brother was definitely my favorite... and then I read the next book and am proven wrong all over again! And I've never been happier to be proven wrong. Each book features one of the brothers, and this time it was Wade's turn--- the middle son- a musician with a bad boy reputation. In an effort to change that reputation and redeem himself to his family, he hires a stranger- Callie- to pretend to be his fiancé. Of course, as we romance readers know it NEVER stays fake! The chemistry between these two is off the charts and I absolutely could not get enough of them! This is definitely an insta-love type story, which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea, but personally I loved it! While I may be sad to see this series end... it definitely saved the best for last, and I could not get enough!

Fake Fiance at First Sight is a closed-door romance. The kisses are sizzling and fairly descriptive, but it doesn't go beyond that. This one did have one very minor swear (the p-word, though I realize that many don't consider this a swear word), but no other language.

**I received an ARC for consideration. All opinions are my own.

This is the fourth book in the series and I definitely think Kristine saved the best till last. Wade is the famous singer who feels a total failure to his family. He's not only not interested in the family ranch but he feels he's an embarrassment with his antics that are freely advertised on the Web and TV. Fighting for joint custody of his son and having to go home for his brothers vow renewing ceremony he meets Callie. Another idea of having Callie be his fake fiancé to prove how he's trying to mend his ways seems like a good idea. Can his luck change and can he prove he's grown up and genuinely wants to make amends. Nothing is ever that simply. It was nice to see all of the characters from the previous books come together in this book. I loved Callie's character and how she challenged Wade to confront his fears, and he helps her with her confidence and to believe in herself. I was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC copy and this is my own personal and honest opinion and review of the book. I hope you'll enjoy it just as much as I did

Fake fiance, bad boy celebrity, single dad, sweet as can be female lead with a great dog... This book is the perfect combination to make a feel good read. This stand-alone book finishes Kristine Joy's series about the Lewis brothers, and while reading the others isn't required for this book to make sense I highly recommend them because they're all good! I love the little glimpses you get throughout this book of how the brothers have grown as a result of the intervening time between the books. Wade and Callie's story is one that I couldn't put down. Looking forward to whatever Ms Joy puts out next!
I received an ARC (thanks!); this is my honest review.

This was a cute and sweet read. I would have liked to see a deeper exploration of Callie’s past and how it affected her, especially with her ex husband (that felt random and wasn’t totally addressed in terms of how it affected her relationship with Wade) but I appreciated the characters’ interactions nonetheless. The addition of her dog Bear was cute too. Thank you to the author for my ARC; all opinions are mine.

Kristine has done it again! This book was darling and full of so many sweet moments. The perfect ending to a wonderful series!

Callie and Wade were too adorable for words! Callie was the sweet heroine you couldn’t help but love! She lit up the page when she was on it! Wade was the bad boy celebrity singer who was trying to get his act together, but was truly such a sweetheart. It was fun watching their fake fiancé ploy turn into so much more! These two definitely had the chemistry part down pat!

Callie was good for Wade in so many ways. She seen the real him and not the celebrity singer everyone else saw. She helped him be a better man and he helped her realize what a beautiful woman she was, inside and out. Their love story was so beautiful, y’all!

There were so many great scenes in this story that touched my heart! Some made me tear up and some made me laugh. If you’re looking for a rom-com to deliver on all the feels, then look no further!

I’ve fell in love with all these characters and I will miss them! Especially those Lewis brothers! 😉

This was a quick, sweet and swoony romance. Wade is a famous singer that has a bit of a bad reputation. But he needs to get his life in order so he can earn his right to have joint access to his son. When his manager suggests, maybe he should get a fake fiancé to take to his brothers wedding, Wade considers it. Callie is a novelist, but she’s having a bit of a mental block, so she goes to her favorite coffee shop orders her favorite vanilla latte, finds her special corner table and tries to push through it. She had dropped her favorite pen while in line and a gorgeous hunk of flesh, picked it up and gave it to her. When their eyes met, she felt a connection.
This is a really cute, sweet meet. The chemistry between them was felt right off the bat now. In reality would I have left for a weekend with a guy I just met at a coffee shop probably not! But it made for a cute story. It had plenty of drama, witty banter and sweet kisses. I enjoyed getting to know the two main characters, but also catching up with some characters from previous stories. This can be read as a standalone, but series are usually good to read in the order written.

Got this for free from a stuff your kindle day, definitely a brain-off book. Predictable, any conflict solves extremely quickly, nothing deep, cheesy, won’t go back to read the other 3 (it’s the 4th in a series). Actually quite surprised at all the raving reviews for this book and wonder what is spurring those.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Wade & Callie’s points of view

– Callie grew up in the foster system due to her parents not being able to care for her or her sister (the parents dealt with drugs & alcohol)

– Callie’s ex-husband cheated on her (while they were married)

– both characters dealt with drinking too much alcohol (past events)

– there are two mentions of Wade wanting to take Callie’s clothes off if he wasn’t a changing man (no description, just that phrasing twice within a few sentences of each other)

– kisses mention some tongue

Review:

While I wasn’t a fan of the clothes comments (second to last reader’s note), I really enjoyed this beautiful fake fiancé turned real relationship! Callie was the perfect fit for Wade and helped him to not only see what was really going on between himself and his family, but she also helped Wade to loosen up a bit as he got to understand her joking manner. I loved the unexpected addition of her pet to their escapades, how Wade was wary of him at first, and then Wade ultimately falling as deeply in love with Callie’s pet as she was. I also loved that though Wade is a single parent, he was different than most of the ones I’ve seen in books. Like other parents he wasn’t perfect by any means, but unlike the other single parents he was trying to get back into the good graces of his ex after he acted like a horrible role model for his son and lost the right to have him over (not that his son saw the event though in case anyone was wondering). I loved that Wade cared so much about his son and recognized how badly his actions could affect him and wanted to change to be a better role model for him. And of course I loved getting to see all of Wade’s family again! I loved that they pulled Callie into their circle right away and I loved just how well she fit in!

Summary:

When Wade was told that he should hire a fake fiancé to better his bad boy singer image, he was not interested. But when his brother invites the family to a wedding vow renewal, Wade finds himself offering the job to an unsuspecting woman that he happens upon on his way there. Because the only people Wade truly cares what they’re thinking about is his own family and with every one of his brothers settling down, Wade believes that he’ll need someone on his arm to gain their approval. But Callie is starting to become more than just a random stranger he offered a job to. She sees him as no one else has and Wade thinks he might be falling for her. But does she feel the same way?

Callie is an author who is struggling to get her next book written. When a stranger (who is apparently also someone famous) offers her an unconventional job of pretending to be his fake fiancé for a weekend family event, Callie jumps at the chance. Maybe the change in scenery will help get her creative juices flowing again. But Callie underestimated how her own feelings would react to truly getting to know Wade and seeing him with his family. When she agreed she never expected to never want to leave his side. But with their time coming to a close, that’s just what will be expected of her. Can Callie really leave now that’s she’s found everything she’s ever wanted?

This was a clean, fun, light and very refreshing read. Joy writes the best sweet romantic comedies that make you just want to snuggle into the story and never leave. I can’t believe that this is the end of the second series of hers that I have been following and what a happy time it has been. This is the fourth and final book in The Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch and as all the characters from the previous books reunite with the whole town for a Vow Renewal Ceremony, it’s time for Wade to find his heart and show the town and his family that it’s time to put away his “Bad Boy” Jacket. With everyone around him pairing off, Wade is not going to let anyone randomly lock him in with some girl, so he’ll come back to town with his own girl…even if she is his fake fiancee. But, how fake is she when the connection between them from the first brush of their fingers has been so electric.

Callie is an author who has hit a dead end in her writing, she feels she tapped out her creativity, and nothing she does seems to get her out of her writing slump. She has tried everything that has helped inspire her in the past, but nothing can rekindle that magic spark or the excitement she needs to reach her readers. But then one day she drops her pen and the Bad Boy who picked it up sets her mind racing with all the things she wishes they could do together. So, when he asks her to pretend to be his fake fiance for a family event, what’s a girl stumped by writer’s block with a vivid imagination supposed to say but… “Sure…?” How hard can it be to pretend to be in love and do some research along the way for her next book. It’s all just make believe, right?

Filled with all the family drama and comedy that you expect when you bring a family together, this book has just the right amount of emotions to keep you wondering if the next page will make you sniffle or giggle. For me, that’s something that really helps me fall back in with this quirky small town. If you like witty, snarky, banter; hidden glances and fingertip grazes; small towns and all the funny characters that live in them, then you will not want to miss this will she, won’t she, when is she gonna romantic comedy! This can be read as a complete standalone, but this really works so much better as the final meeting of all the characters who have been running through the books that chart the lives and loves of the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch!

I read this as an ARC and the review is my own thoughts

This is the last book in the Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch. It follows Wade, a famous country singer who has distanced himself a bit from his family. Feeling some anxiety about returning home for his brother’s vow renewal (hiiii Sawyer & Bailey 👋), he randomly asks Callie to be his fake fiancée. Those fake feelings begin to turn real, as they do, and you can guess how it ends up from there.

I liked getting a peek into Wade and his insecurities and was happy to see him step up as a father for his son. Callie was so open and down to earth and I really connected with her character. I always love a redheaded heroine! 😉 My favorite part was probably when Wade called her Spicy Callie 😳😂 They had great chemistry and I loved how Callie was embraced by the Lewis clan.

Favorite Quotes:
👩🏻‍🦰 I can't shake the way her smile seems to light up the whole dang world.
🔥 "I'm also really funny, vivacious, and spicy because, you know, the red hair." She points to her head full of dark auburn hair.
"Spicy in the way you taste, or your attitude?" I shoot back, watching her cheeks go bright red.
👩🏻‍🦰"I find you irresistibly attractive, and not just because you're drop dead gorgeous, but because your heart is pure and your soul is kind." I wipe a small tear that has escaped from the corner
of her eye. "I would be proud to be seen with you anywhere, at any time, and with anyone. In fact, I consider myself lucky to even be in your presence."

This one releases next week on September 6th!

Fake Fiancé at First Sight was an adorable, quick read and book 4 of Kristine W Joy’s Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch series (I didn’t read the prior books and while trying to match the couples was difficult at times- it wasn’t impossible and didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book)

Synopsis
A dropped ‘lucky pen’ in a coffee shop ☕️ brings struggling author, Callie, and bad-boy country music rockstar, Wade, together. Their instant chemistry has him offering her a deal she can’t refuse. An impromptu adventure to his family’s ranch in Texas for his brother’s wedding. But there is a catch- she needs to come as his fake-fiancé so his family doesn’t think he’s as big of a screw-up as the papers and his ex-wife make him out to be.

What follows is a road trip 🚗 (complete with Dr. Pepper!). Wedding dates 👰🏻. A MMC that collects books 📚 as much as he collects vinyl records and even has the Kindle app on his phone (that’s pretty hot 🔥 in this book lover’s honest opinion). Family bonding 🏠. Dog parent shenanigans 🐶. And some ridiculously sweet song writing sessions together 🎵.

Tropes
• Celebrity/Ordinary Person 📸
• Fake Engagement 💍
• Cowboys 🤠
• Small Town 🐴
• Found Family 🏠
• Forced Proximity 🛏️
• Road Trip 🚗
• Bad Boy/Good Girl 🖤
• Dual POV

This is a closed-door romance with sweet kisses 💋 and a Hallmark movie feel. That journeys through Callie finding a sense of family and home and Wade experiencing a little bad-boy redemption arc. His line of ‘Callie Walker is everything that I’m not, but she’s everything I want to be’ was pretty sweet.

Overall- the story was a fun, fluffy, fast-paced read and I would absolutely read other books by this author.

- Fake relationship
- Meet Cute
- Lucky pen
- Rockstar romance

Oh, how I loved this book! Wade has made some mistakes in the past and they have caused him to lose custody of his son. the regret he feels has also kept him away from his family as he thinks he has disappointed them...again.

His manager thinks if Wade had a fake fiancee to parade in public, that would help his public image. Wade isn't a fan of the public charade, but a fake fiancee to take home for his brother's vow renewal? That might work.

Callie is a writer whose last book didn't do very well. Her creativity suffered from this and she now has writer's block. While at her favorite coffee shop (getting iced vanilla latte), she drops her lucky pen. It is retrieved by the most handsome man she's ever seen.

"I swear this man must have walked right out of my dreams...and into a coffee shop in Arkansas."

He then makes the most unusual proposition...which she accepts..only if she can bring her dog, Bear.

Wade and Callie click right away and start getting to know one another while driving to Texas. They have no problem convincing his family that they are engaged - their chemistry is off the charts! However, Callie feels bad with the mistruth when she finds out how lovely and welcoming his family is. What will the family think when Wade and Callie "end" their engagement when the trip is over?

I adored Wade and Callie together. She is sweet and sassy, the perfect complement to an emotionally distant rockstar! I also loved the lyrics to his songs in the book! Just swoon worthy!

It starts and ends at a coffee shop, not exactly what I would have thought for cowboy romcom, but it works perfectly!  While this book is book 4 of 4 for Brothers of Lucky Seven Ranch series, it works as a stand-alone!  Wade has been discussed at a low level until this book, where he gets to have his say.  A rough and tumble rockstar who is trying to get back to having positive press and earn another chance of sharing custody of his young son!  His manager makes the joke about getting a fake fiancé, since all his relationships with women have been disasters, Wade laughs off the suggestion!  However, while he is on the road to attend one of his brother’s weddings, he stops in a coffee shop where his world is flipped upside down by a girl, her lucky pen, and a vanilla latte!  Callie is an indie writer, who is currently down on her luck as well since her latest release wasn’t exactly a success and suffers from writer’s block!  One thing leads to another, and they enter a somewhat mutually beneficial fake relationship!  Once at his family’s place while the lies are in play, real emotion and feelings come into play!  How far are they willing to go before things get complicated and extremely out of hand?!  Have to read to find out, but I will say this, this book gives you the feels in the right places and Kristine W. Joy writes some of the most romantic moments I have ever read!  Would happily read any of her work!  5⭐️/5

This is what I characterize as a heart happy book because my heart is happy after reading it. Wade Lewis is pretty much your typical heartthrob musician with a bad boy vibe. Callie is the girl next door who happens to enjoy writing mysteries. She is at her local coffee shop when she runs into Wade. He is immediately drawn to her. She has no clue who he is which makes her even more adorable to him. He asks her if they can enter a business deal where she pretends to be his future bride for the weekend. The only thing he requests is that she understands this is just business. He cannot be in a relationship. You can guess where this is going, but the path to get there is so charming and heart warming that you will have a warm feeling after you finish the book.

Oh my gosh I love the Lewis family. They are a true family who cares for one another. I felt a little sorry for Wade. I know he brought some of his problems onto himself, but he also had some insecurities that he needed to work through. Callie was so likeable. She did not know a stranger. She truly cared about those around her, and her past has made her appreciative of the joy of having a loving family. The humor was sprinkled throughout the book to make it even more enjoyable to read. Kristine Joy has a new fan in this reader.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

✨Book Review✨
Fake Fiancé at First Sight
@kristinewjoy
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve jumped into the middle of this series and cannot wait to go back and read books 1-3. These are fantastic reads.

A rockstar has to head back to his “perfectly happy cowboy ranch-mansion homestead” (think Yellowstone big…) but he’s single, alone, and the biggest “bad boy” the media plays him up to be. But he’s really a cinnamon roll of a man.

So his publisher thinks up a plan to create a fake fiancé.

Yeah, he doesn’t go with it. Until he’s headed home, walks in a coffee shop, picks up a lucky pen 🖊️ and spies the more gorgeous girl ever. He somehow convinces her to go home for his brothers vow renewal/real marriage - see book 4 - and she agrees!

🫣❤️😱🫣❤️😱🫣❤️😱

Why wouldn’t she go with a handsome stranger, who claims he’s a world renowned rockstar icon, for a weekend away? Her writing is stuck, she has no other plans, as long as he takes her and her dog, it’s a go.

But how far will it go?

Why pick her? She’s nothing special?

🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴

This is such a cute story. It’s kinda insta-love, but there is a detour along the way, so it lasts over a few weeks. I love the lost family vibe. Cowboys are always yummy. And it’s wrapped up in a big bear family hug. I just love these types of stories.

I would not read this one with out reading at least one of the others. I now want to go back and read the beginning. Thanks @kristinewjoy for having me on your last two arcs teams even though I hadn’t yet read your books!

Their Fate-Filled Meeting -
The first time Wade and Callie met, they felt like they had been friends for years, so when Wade asked Callie to be his fake fiancé for his brother’s wedding, she didn’t find it too difficult to accept. Spending time together brought allowed them to get to know each other better, but their attraction for each other also built, which apparently was evident to everyone else but themselves.

Unfortunately, just as they settled into their relationship, the secret they had been keeping from Wade’s family was uncovered, which brought about chaos and led Callie to walk away, as she had inadvertently fallen in love with Wade. However, Wade also realised he was in love with Callie, so he went after her and declared his love for her, whilst also convincing her to record an album with him, as they worked together towards their happily ever after.

I absolutely loved reading this deeply moving and feel-good story, which was engaging and really believable. The characters in the story had an energy that kept me eagerly turning the pages and totally hooked on the story from the beginning until the end. This is a book that you will not only be happy to recommend, but also want read again when you finish it.

I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

My heart loves Kristine's books. This one, the last in the series did not disappoint in the least except to leave my heart sad that it is all over. These Lewis boys will just melt your heart. This story follows Wade, the celebrity musician, of the brothers. He's on his way home and in need to prove he's a better man than what everyone thinks. The way to accomplish this? Find a fake fiancé! Callie just so happens to be in the right place at the right time, at least that is what one might think at first when she runs into Wade at her local coffee shop one afternoon and gets the proposition of a lifetime. But is it really that or was it fate? These two embark on a fake journey that leaves them both questioning how fake things really are between them. Kristine writes the best heart melting kisses, push and pull relationship moments, fun twists and turns that leave you smiling and enjoying every page turn. If you love a good clean romance, a sweet first meeting, heart melting kisses, a bad boy with a reformed reputation, a lovable pup, and a family that will love you this is the perfect book and series for you!
Thank you, Kristine, for my free eBook. It was not expected for me to leave positive feedback, these opinions are 100% my own.
