Spencer knows he isn't boy material, so why can't he resist Nash Brooks?

Nothing in Spencer's life has ever come easy, including romance. As a side with boundaries too many men have disrespected, he knows having a Daddy of his own isn't in the cards. Even if he really craves someone to take care of him.

When Nash pushes past his defenses and promises to give Spencer everything he wants, it's hard to trust but impossible to resist.

Nash is everything he ever wanted but never dared to hope for, but can he really be the boy his Daddy deserves, or is he just holding him back?

I enjoyed this daddy/boy romance. The flirting between Nash and Spencer was fun to read. Even though Spencer was a little skittish and not really trusting if Nash's interest was true...Nash was patient...taking care of Spencer like a sweet daddy would. Sweet romance with some spicy times made this a delight to read. I recommend it you love sweet daddy/boy romances.

Nash was such a sweet and cosy conclusion to The Daddies of River Gorge series - I really adore these sweet stories that Jacki James has written within this series, and this one was no exception!

Spencer had been struggling with finding a partner due to his preferences, and had a history of pretty bad break ups and broken promises. He was such a sweet boy and it was sad how he was so used to the idea of not being enough for someone. Nash had all the patient for him though, and I loved how sweet they were together - Nash was such a gentle and caring Daddy and it was exactly what Spencer needed.

The Daddy kink was pretty mild, as it's been in the other books as well, and the focus was more on their relationship development and on Nash gaining Spencer's trust. Spencer definitely came off as a bit standoffish at times, and I loved seeing how Nash slowly broke down the walls and kept reassuring him. So many sweet and tender moments between these two! Even with Spencer being a bit skittish and hesitant about Nash and relationships in general, the angst was still low and it was a bit of a slow burn romance.

I loved being back in River Gorge and it was great seeing some of the other couples again. There were some glimpses of Nash's work on the ranch with the horses which I loved - there's just something about cowboys, especially the ones working with rescue animals... While I'm going to miss these Daddies and their sweet boys, I'm also excited for the spin-off series that's starting with Nash's brother Keith!

Nash by Jacki James is the final book in the River Gorge Daddies series and that makes me very sad. I have loved these people and this community so much. This book is about Nash and Spencer.

Spencer had been burned by Daddies in the past so he was bitter and did not expect anyone to ever meet his boundaries. Nash was attracted to Spencer and wanted to show him that he was not being unreasonable about his desires. These two fit together really well, and even without penetration the scenes were still spicy.

I loved seeing all the old favorites and glimpses into the new series coming out later this year. I am very intrigued by Nash’s two brothers. Keith’s story is next up, but I wonder if we will see Danny’s as well.

I just really enjoy how low-angst this series is, but it is still sweet, romantic, and hot. I look forward to what comes next.

I received an ARC copy for my honest review

This was another fantastic Daddy/ boy book. Nash and Spencer were so good together, and it was great to get a glimpse of the other River Gorge couples.
I've loved this series and am sad to see it end, but I'm really excited about the next series that will be coming up.

This is the 4th and final book in The Daddies of River Gorge series. This was a great ending to this series. While you can enjoy this book as a standalone, you will enjoy it more if you read it as part of the series. This is the story of Spencer Reynolds and Nash Brooks. Spencer is a nurse who believes that he will never find his forever daddy. He had been with other daddies in the past but they all eventually tried to change him. He is comfortable in who he is but doesn't believe anyone else will be. Nash is a recent addition to to the Double C Ranch in River Gorge. He loves working at the animal rescue and the people he works with. Nash is a daddy but has yet to find a boy to call his own. Seeing all the happy relationships at the ranch, drives home how lonely he truly is. Spencer and Nash meet when Nash is injured at the ranch. There is an immediate spark between them but Spencer believes that no daddy will ever care of him and rebuffs Spencer's advance. Good thing that Daddies are made of sterner stuff. Nash doesn't give up and treats Spencer like a skittish colt. He slowly earns his trust. This is their story. I really enjoyed this book. It is well written and easy to read. It is a warm and low angst story that you are sure to love. I am looking forward to the spinoff series to follow.

After reading this book I really need to close the Jacki James chapter in my life. I tried, I so damn tried but I just really freaking can’t. She writes books that are not even low angst it’s just non existent. It’s just books which a whole lot of nothing, and Nash was one of the ones that had the least substance.

Nash by Jacki James is the 4th book in her Daddies of River Gorge Series. You may want to read the others first as there are reoccurring characters in and background for this one. Nash Brooks has recently moved to the Double C Ranch in River Gorge after leaving one where the horses were mistreated. He really likes his job and is good at it. However, he is a Daddy and while he sees many Daddy/Boy partnerships around him, he hasn’t been able to find a boy of his own. Spencer Reynolds has also come to River Gorge to work as a nurse at the local urgent care. He had a sad upbringing until he was adopted as a teenager and given the life he deserved but it was always in the back of his mind. He was also a Boy that had been mistreated because he didn’t like being with men in the usual way and always felt that he wasn’t enough for a Daddy to love. He was friends with Nolan, the partner of the owner of the Double C, and was visiting one day when Nash was hurt. He fixed him up and there was a spark between them which rekindled when Nash saw him at the Daddy’s club in the bigger town of Vesper. But Spencer rebuffed him because he was afraid that Nash would be just like the others he had been with. They met again at a neighborhood cookout and Nash was with a friend which made Spencer think he had already found a new boyfriend but when Nash confronted him, he blurted out his whole background story and when Nash comforted him and told him about his friend they decided to date and see where it led. The story continues as they get to know each other. Nash moves slowly because he really likes Spencer and this leads to some hot love scenes, them meeting each other’s families, and finally falling in love. There were also some side stories about their lives with Spencer helping people at the urgent care and seeing the need to help the teenagers in town with a youth center and Nash’s work at the ranch with the horses and dealing with the person who mistreated them which leads to a great opportunity for them both. I really enjoyed this story as I have the others in the series. Nash is a great person with lots of kindness and patience, especially when it comes to Spencer and horses. Spencer has had a lot happen to him in his life and his needs make him suspicious of any Daddy who wants to be with him, but Nash wins him over and they are very happy together. Their friends at the ranch and the urgent care as well as their families are very supportive and add to the story. I also liked the story line of getting the youth center for the kids in town as it showed not only Spencer’s caring about them but also the town’s commitment to all of its residents. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like Daddy/Boy stories that involve cowboys, some hurt/comfort, lots of patience, and a very happy ending for two men who deserve it.

Independent reviewer for Neon, I was gifted my copy of this book.

So, this is a first for me. My first Jacki James book, but more importantly, my first book where a main character, Spencer, identifies as a side. As in, he neither tops, nor bottoms. And I was in two minds about whether I was going to like this book.

I need NOT have worried!

I thoroughly enjoyed this! I like my books steamy, so wasn't sure how it would work, with Spencer not liking that part, but it hits the spot, oh so steamy!

It is a very easy read, with some emotional points, so cute bits, very low angst, I thought.

Spencer has attraction to Nash, right from their first meeting, but he has been hurt before and nneds to keep his heart under contol. Nothing to say they can't have fun, though, right? But Nash gets under his skin, doing and saying all the right things. Nash never had a boy of his own before. He played, sure, but never more than once or twice with the same boy. Spencer, though, makes him want: his own boy, his own home, his own roots.

And for the most part, they get it right, til Spencer hears something and misunderstands. There follows a wonderful make up scene, and Nash makes all the right noises, and makes Spencer understand!

I haven't read the other Daddies of River Gorge, and I didn't eel I missed anything by not doing. I want to, though. Cos the other Daddies and their boys play a huge part here and I want their stories too.

A very enjoyable, and surprising, 4 star read.

5/5 cinnamon streusel muffins!

I can't believe it's taken me this long to find this series. Not ONLY if this 4 book series in a bigger universe, it also has loads of character cameos and appearances from those in 2 other series.
Which honestly, I ADORE. I love interconnected book series.
But I will say this book was sweet, warm and comforting.
Besides the previous hurt feelings and emotions from the sweet nurse Spencer, this book involves a lot of bonding and learning to trust again. The characters set strict boundaries and the opposite MC respected those boundaries and never pushed which I thought was very sweet & made m love Nash & Spencer together.
Nash is the perfect match for Spencer with his patience with horses also comes patience with humans as well. Nash is down to earth, solid and calming. Which is what Spencer really needed in order to become a better and more trusting person.
I am so happy that these characters found such an amazing found family and small town that supports them and strives to make them better humans.
Overall, the world was built over 3 series (as far as I can see) so that was established and the character development and problem solving was smooth. The author did their job with wanting me to go back and read through the many other series that belong in this town of River Gorge.
If you love gentle cowboys with the patience of a saint and a hurt nurse looking for love, then this series is for you. Even if you start here with Nash, you'll want to go back and read the rest of the series!

If I can convince myself to finish this book, my rating might go up because these guys and this town are sweet. Currently, I am too annoyed to keep reading.

The "blah blah blah "BUT" blah blah blah" or "blah blah blah, "BUT" blah blah blah,"SO" blah blah blah way this book is written is making me twitchy. It's constant.
CON👏STANT👏
The word "but" is used 851 times in this book, and "however" is used twice. Doing a little math, this sentence structure or phrasing shows up, on average, 3 times per page. PER. PAGE. 🤨

(I'd like to like this book, but the way it's written is driving me crazy, so I'll probably never finish it.
Spencer seems like he'd be a solid character, but he comes across as a pessimistic whiner, but you can't really blame him when he's written the way he is.
You'd think this story would be good, what with the MM daddy/boy dynamic, but with the constant whiplash of a sentence being set up and then contradicting itself, it's off-putting.)
[The structuring there was intentional.]

Honestly, even without the overuse of that phrasing, this series is a bit flat for me. The narration is not dynamic; it does a lot of "telling" rather than "showing." And the dialog is dry and often makes the characters seem somewhat juvenile or naive, which doesn't feel consistent with their back stories.

This author has created a lovely community of characters in a quaint, idealist's MM dream town, where everyone loves each other, and anyone jumps to help anyone in need. Unfortunately, the writing quality just doesn't do it for me.

A sweet and charming story, with a reluctant boy and a Daddy who’s got all the patience necessary.
Jacki always knows how to deliver wonderful low angst daddy/boy stories that warm the heart (and raise the heart rate - wink, wink, nudge, nudge). Nash and Spencer are no different.

Transplants both to the very inclusive, very kinky town of River Gorge. This tight-knit and welcoming community is the perfect place for both our men who are looking to find their place in the world.

Their story centres around the idea of acceptance and trust. Sweet Spencer has had difficulty finding a partner to love them as they are, so when Nash comes along saying and doing all the right things, he wants to believe. Maybe this time. And really Nash is absolutely perfect. The caring, loving Daddy who has no qualms with reassuring the skittish young man over and over.

We also get to meet both their wonderful families, and of course, we get to see all our old favourites. And both our guys find ways to make the world or at least the town and little bit better, which has been a really great underlying theme of most of the River Gorge fam.

This series is a guilty pleasure of mine and this book was a good one in the series. Nash and Spencer are both great characters and Spencer is unique in his particular wants/desires from what other characters in the series have been into. Honestly, it’s a fluff of a book with no real substance other than the relationship and day to day life of the characters. They each face a minor issue that they need to overcome, but nothing exceptionally dramatic. And there’s some decent spice sprinkled in through, maybe like a 1.5-2/5.

I’m not gonna lie, there legit has to be something in the water in River Gorge for such a large percentage of the population to be into the Daddy/Boy lifestyle. Seems unlikely that there would be so many of them in one concentrated area, but it works with the story, so I guess I can overlook that.

I love that Nash accepts and respects Spencer’s boundaries about what he likes in the bedroom. He doesn’t try and change him or talk him into anything like his other partners have, just seriously thinks about what he can personally deal with and takes him as he is. I did have to look up what a side was though, so I suppose it was educational?

Nice, easy and comfy read with some smut included. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon. I would recommend this one, especially if you liked the others in the series!

Cowboy Nash and Spencer, RN find peace ! River Gorge, Double C Ranch.

Spencer, RN, curly brown hair, , likes to dress up to go to club, eyeliner, and hard limit is no anal. He has two Dads he loves, works hard, he knits and is lonely.
Nash, a Daddy, works with rescue horses, he's tall, big and muscled with brown eyes. He's one tough cowboy.

Spencer was visiting a friend at the ranch, when Nash dislocated his shoulder, but Spencer had a soft touch. Big plans are going on for the rescue center, very exciting. They meet again when Spencer needs a plumber, Nash was below getting his car fixed, and volunteered to fix it.

They met once more at the club and they began really talking. Later, when Spencer had a very bad week he got sick. He was rude to Nash, but Nash helped anyway. More conversations and Spencer told Daddy Nash he was a "side." I did not know what that meant so I learned something new, anything sexy except anal.

Nash agrees to abide by it, and they moved slowly, hanging out, getting sexy times, and start having real emotions and passion for each other.

Meanwhile, Spencer is interested in an LGBTQ teen center, and begins to plan. Nash is aware of animal abuse and the whole ranch steps up.

These guys are so great together, and we love them.

ENJOY !

This was so sweet!

Nash and Spencer were such sweethearts together. I liked the little crossover with Spencer coming to River Gorge. But my favourite part about all the River Gorge books is just the sweet relationships these guys have but the way they are building such an amazing community. Yes, Spencer and Nash were on fire; they’re sweet and hot together and they both deserved to find their HEA so much. But on top of all that, there is an incredible community that works together to support them, to build each up and to listen to the needs of others. That I think was especially evident with Spencer; he wasn’t from River Gorge and it was obvious that he felt a little alone. Seeing all the River Gorge guys bring him into their friend groups, try to make him feel welcome and part of the community was awesome. Nash and Spencer’s relationship was a sweet, slow burn that turned into a forest fire. I get that Spencer was hesitant for reasons, but I liked that Nash was patient even when Spencer could be a little standoffish. I loved that Nash liked Spencer but was still able/willing to accept he might not be interested and that he still wanted to be friends for no reason beyond he thought Spencer was a good guy. I’m sad that this is the end of River Gorge (at least for now) but I’m happy that we’ll hopefully get to at least see glimpses every now and then with Nash’s brother. I can’t wait for what’s next!

Nash (book 4 in the Daddy's of River Gorge) by Jacki James is exactly what every boy who doesn't feel seen needs. I have only read a couple stories where the main charater identifies as a side. In a world that seems to identify s2x with penitrate I could see how identifying this way would cause a person anxiety and feelings of unworthiness for a long term relationship. That is where we find Spencer.

Spencer is a lovely young man who is friends with Nolan and therefor on the ranch often. He is a nurse at the local clinic and when Nash is hurt Spencer is able to step in and help. Both have noticed the other and are attracted but both have held beack a little for different reasons.

Nash is a Daddy who has never had a boy to call his own but he knows that Spencer is just the boy he wants. Nash is thoughtful in his response to Spencer being a side and I fully appreciated that the author took that moment to be very real. To me that speaks volumes of the writer.

Nash is a wonderful story and addition to the Daddy's of River Gorge series. This is final book in the series. Nash is a semi stand alone. I think you could enjoy it for the book that it is. But, there are recurring past MCs such as Nolan and Cruz that would make the story more enjoyable if you had read the previous books.

NASH is the fourth and final book in The Daddies of River Gorge but the first one I have read. I don't feel this negatively impacted my enjoyment of the book in any way.

This low-angst story was a delight from start to finish, with Nash giving Spencer exactly what he needed - acceptance for who and what he is. I won't tell you how happy I was to actually have a side take the main character spot!! Nash and Spencer's relationship moves slowly, with Spencer refusing to take it any further, but circumstances keep throwing them together and he realises Nash may just be worth taking a risk for.

I loved seeing other couples make an appearance, and I can't wait to read Keith's story. All it has done is make me want to read the previous books so I can get the down-low on all of them!

A great story that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. Definitely recommended by me.

It's always a pleasure to return to Jacki James' little part of Texas. And once again, she has River Gorge interacting with the Austin of the Breaking the Rules stories. Although it did take me a few moments to realize Dad and Pops were Lincoln and Matt. And I'm very sorry that this visit is ending our time in River Gorge. But, apparently, Vespers is waiting.
Nash is a cowboy. But not just a cowboy. He's a James' cowboy. They're hot and fit (Reed, Langdon, Cruz etc, etc). Perfect for Daddy/boy stories. Spencer is a nurse, a caretaker who needs someone to care for him.
Spencer has issues with not being enough for his past daddies. So, he's cautious. And Nash is patient.
It's a sweet story. A good ending for this River Gorge series. Althoughhhhh.... Julius needs a cowboy. Or a fireman. Can't wait for what Vespers brings us.
A fun, quick read. Two adorable men. Great secondary and background characters. Great world expansion Really loved the book and didn't want to put it down. Not just a perfect D/b story. Aperfect James' story.
I received an advance copy of this book and this is my heartfelt review.

Fourth in series (Daddies of River Gorge), but can be read as a standalone. Daddy/boy. Side representation. Dual POV. Spencer has had disappointment after disappointment looking for a Daddy, and when he meets Nash he’s too afraid to let the horse wrangler get close. Working at a horse rescue takes up a lot of Nash’s time, and he never thought he could find a permanent boy, but the cute nurse Spencer has Nash seeing a possible future if he could get the boy to trust him. Both Nash and Spencer are likable, sweet, and caring characters, and seeing them slowly approach their relationship was all the swoon. Once they are together the romance becomes serious quickly, but I didn’t mind because I could believe that they found their special person and didn’t want to hesitate once they both could see being together forever. I’m sad this is the last of the series, but there were plenty of character cameos to round out the series and hints of a new group of Daddies and boys soon to be discovered. 4.5 rounded up

Spencer knows he isn't boy material, so why can't he resist Nash Brooks? Nothing in Spencer's life has ever come easy, including romance. As a side with boundaries too many men have disrespected, he knows having a Daddy of his own isn't in the cards even if he craves someone to take care of him. When Nash pushes past his defences and promises to give Spencer everything he wants, it's hard to trust but impossible to resist because Nash is everything he ever wanted but never dared to hope for, but can he be the boy his Daddy deserves, or is he just holding him back?

This was a sweet story as Spencer learned to trust himself and Nash who wanted him no matter the conditions. I loved their supportive families who were there for them no matter what. It was also great to be in River Gorge catching up with the men and their boys again. I loved their relationship and the easy way that Nash accepted his limitations. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Sweet and sensitive! Spencer, is a nurse with the urgent care center. When he socialized, he hung out with Nolan at the ranch. He has specific needs that many partners have trouble supporting. He notices Nash when he sees him on the ranch and thinks he's 'HOT'! Nash, has noticed Spencer and thinks he's cute. He is observing while contemplating making his move. When he learns of Spencer's needs, he does what we hope he would do. Spencer and Nash come across and wonderful fun hot tempting men. Nash, has a few secrets of his own so he and Spence have a lot to work through. Nash knows he's a Daddy and is looking for his forever boy. Spencer's needs are a new alphabet letter for me, so I learned a lot and I appreciate the author's sensitivity. Great story. Great flow, fun characters, I can see reading this story over and over. We get to see how friends from previous stories are doing and get a hint of follow up from friends, family and found family. Excellent series, great found family. Well done! This is a cute and low angst Daddy romance, set in the River Gorge universe and not a book which should be read on it's own. There are not only other couples from this series popping up but also characters from the previous River Gorge series are there.
I actually think a who's who at the beginning would have helped.

It's a typical book for this author and a nice, relaxing read.

I like Spencer and Nash, both want someone to fill the missing part of the dynamic but both think they can't offer anything.
They both learn that the other one is exactly who they need and it's lovely to see how the dynamic begins to show between them and both guys grow in confidence.
I love Spencer's family and the acceptance of who he is.

The romance does speed up a lot in the last 1/3 of the book, a bit too fast with their background but it does not overly distract from the otherwise good book.

Nash is the final book in The Daddies of River Gorge series and while I am sad for this series to end I am so looking forward to seeing what the author has in store for us next. I loved everything about this book and I was fully engaged from the first page to the last. It is well written, sweet, emotional, low angst, deals well with some difficult issues and the characters are amazing. Nash and Spencer are exactly what the other needs and even though it takes Spencer quite some time to decide to put his trust in Nash after being so badly hurt in his past I love how their relationship develops. Nash is willing to do whatever it takes to earn Spencer's trust and I love how careful and patient he is with him. Their friends and families add a lot to this story, I also love seeing how well the couples from the previous books are doing and the ending is perfect.

I received a copy of this book from Neon Rainbow ARC Reviews, and this is my honest review.

This is a sweet low-angst Daddy book, with some really lovely moments. My main issue was that I hadn't read any of the the other books, I just dropped in at book 4 in my typical disorganised fashion, and I initially found the couples from previous books and the sheer number of named characters quite disorienting and confusing. Eventually I just ignored the barrage of names and just focused on the main characters, which seemed to be the way to go.

It was a cute Daddy/boy dynamic and I enjoyed the early stages very much. The last 20% or so seemed to have their relationship moving super fast, and I could definitely have done without the third-act miscommunication, but at least it was resolved quickly. Definitely worth a look if you're up for a cute, simple Daddy book set in a small town.

Sweet, tender Daddy/boy

Nash and Spencer were perfect for each other.
Spencer has had some really rotten partners in the past and they left him doubtful of himself and leery of finding a new Daddy.
Nash has never had his own boy but he's ready and Spencer piqued his interest.
They had instant chemistry between them.
Nash made sure that Spencer knew there was nothing wrong with him that he accepts him as he is.
Spencer really blossomed under Nash's care.
I also enjoyed the fact that they each had their own separate lives filled with work, friends, family and outside interests.
They were truly well rounded and weren't solely reliant on each other.
I'm sad to see the series ending but I'm very excited to start on a new adventure with Keith and Caleb.
I would also love to see sassy Julie find his own Daddy.

Ok read but way too much small city + horses content for my taste. The romance part was maybe 15-20% & absolutely vanilla despite the Daddy/boy element.
I'm one of those who actually can read erotica without anal sex, both straight & gay so I thought I would enjoy this story.
But then you have to compensate with something else to spice it up a little (2 BJ is all you'll have in this book). At one point light bondage is talked about but then nothing happened & I finished this book speed reading.
PS: Teenagers being bored in an era where internet exists is a joke & I rolled my eyes pretty hard when that secondary plot line landed. Whatever your wiring, orientation and likes, everything can be found online to keep you occupied. Living in a small or big city doesn't matter anymore. End of rant.

A good Daddy/Boy book can be hard to find… luckily this is one. Spencer has been jaded by his past relationships because has boundaries that most men feel they need to cross. Nash is content with his life in River Gorge and thinks a boy isn’t in his future.

Nash and Spencer soon realize that if they just believe in what they have… they can be each other’s HEA.

This is not a high angst book… unless you consider Spencer’s ever present worry that he isn’t enough for Nash. There isn’t really a conflict… until about 90% and it is solved within a few paragraphs.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it felt like something was missing. I’m not sure what… but it was a good pace and great character development so it’s a solid 4 stars!

Finally Finding His Daddy!!

Because Spencer had a problem what he considered a deal breaker , he never thought he'd find a Daddy who could except him as he is. Ever since Nash laid eyes on Spencer he knew he was someone he wanted to know better, but he couldn't seem to make any headway even after seeing him at the Club on Daddy/boy night. Spencer was determined to run but Nash was just as determined to catch him. Once he agreed to a date Nash was going to do everything he could to make Spencer believe that even with his special circumstances that he was the boy for him. It started with coffee and ended with a house and all the love both of them could handle. Great end to the series, I enjoyed every book can't wait until the next one.😍😍😍
