Jack Steel has seen it all playing for the Mafia owned Ice Bears, but this thirty-eight-year-old All-Star veteran might be about to face his deadliest season yet.

New signing Chase Light is twenty-one, cocky, and has never played by the rules – and Jack is instructed by the franchise's mafia bosses to make Chase fall into line by any means necessary .

But Jack is battling an injury that could ruin his final season as a player. The last thing Jack needs is to be chasing around after a sassy, partygoing boy – no matter how talented Chase may be – but when the big bosses give the orders, you follow them… or else .

Chase is loving life in the big time. He’s the most promising player in the league, and he knows it too. Chase won’t listen to the coaches, his teammates, or even the Mafia family who run the Ice Bears.

But what Chase doesn’t realise is that unless he falls in line and gets his act together, the consequences will be far worse than merely being traded off the team.

Chase is skating on thin ice, and unless he submits to Jack and his demands, things could get very pucking dangerous indeed...

Pucking Deadly is a standalone MM Age Gap, high heat hockey & mafia romance featuring found family, spanking, gruff hockey Daddies and sassy Littles, and it comes with a pucktastic and ice-melting HEA.

The Deadly Puck Daddies are here – and hockey will never be the same again.

Ermmmmmm......

I don't really have anything positive to say 😬

The third person POV was really irritating because it felt like half the word count was just the character's names being repeated every sentence. I'm not a fan of third person unless it's done well, and this just wasn't.

The plot was also ridiculous and completely unrealistic, plus each chapter was from a different character perspective even though it was third person and it kept rehashing whatever the other character experienced in the previous chapter. Very annoying especially when it's not engaging in the first perspective you read or the second version either!

Also it felt like everyone is either a Daddy or a Little but there's zero conversation around it. The 'Daddy' pulls the 'Little' into a room and spanks him but the only thing asked is what's your safe word.... I think that more than anything made me uncomfortable. What I read literally came across as someone's fantasy/daydream where there's absolutely no substance whatsoever.

So far I cannot get into Daddy/Little at all. I've tried a handful of books now and it just doesn't click for me.

I’ve recently become curious by the world of kink so I’ve been picking up all the kinky gay romance books I can find that look good. I realize now that age play is very much not my thing but this book drew me in with a good story and characters and I could not put it down. I admittedly had to google a lot of stuff to understand age play, which is still kind of an enigma to me even if I found a lot of the sex scenes in the book hot.

I really liked the angle of a good-hearted Mafia family running a hockey club. It gave it a nice darker edge of tension to an otherwise sweet story. Chase Light is a brash young hotshot player with an attitude, a Little who doesn’t think he’ll find his Forever Daddy so he goes wild partying at kink clubs. Jack Steel (those names, ouch, just a little porn star-esque for me) is a veteran player returning from injury, a Daddy who doesn’t have time to date, who is tasked with keeping the cheeky new recruit in line.

I liked the contrast of Chase’s confidence on the ice and his extracurricular activities of submission and playing with milkshakes and stuffies, and the sizzling chemistry between Chase and Jack. It didn’t take them long to realize that they’d met their match and the build up to their sweet relationship was lovely. Despite the Daddy power dynamic they felt like equals who made each other better people and partners for each other. Their charming romance was well written with just enough tension and conflict for my tastes, but not going over the top in dramatics as I’d expect from a Mafia romance.

I also loved the team and the hockey universe in this. The side characters were compelling. I know nothing about hockey so I cannot vouch for the sports accuracy but it felt authentic to me without being all about hockey.

Thank you to Booksprout for the advance review copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a new to me author, and while I loved the blurb, I didnt love the book.

Chase has the Little aspect down pat... but he seems to have the bratty attitude all the time, regardless of his own safety. Yes Ricki is his friend and a little also, but the story feels like this is a known fact by everyone... the whole team included.
As for Jack, yes this friends know hes a Daddy. He can probably tell from Chases out bursts, however, I dont think anyone would accept a spanking from someone they work with, without a conversation... though I could be wrong

I didnt get a connection between either character.
I will certainly try again with the next book of the series

Chase is the new hotshot rookie superstar on the Ice Bears hockey team. He is also a Little that is in desperate need of a Daddy, because he is sassy, parties too much and causes strife in the locker room. Jack is the resident Captain and best player on the team. However, Jack is still recovering from an injury sustained the prior season but that doesn't mean his hold over the guys has lessened. When Jack is called in to a meeting with the boss, Antonio Doni, he is told to get Chase under control by any means necessary. You do not say no to Mr. Doni! Good thing Jack is a Daddy that knows how to handle a Little bratty baby boy. Get this book and follow along to find out how a mafia family owns a top hockey team, as well as how Chase responds to the Daddy side of Jack. Will they make it through the season with another mafia family putting pressure on the team as well as deciding on whether they can be the first DDlb couple in hockey.

I loved Pucking Deadly : An MM Age Gap Hockey & Mafia Romance Book 1 of Deadly Puck Daddies. A spoiled little boy, a seasoned veteran daddy, and a lot of drama. Chance is a rookie sensation with too much time and money. He’s making bad choices. The owners of the Ice Bears are in the mafia and someone is coming for Chase. They ask the veteran Jack to look after Chase. Has this daddy finally found his forever little? A good storyline and I loved the characters. Not to much drama and lots of steamy scenes. I would definitely recommend this book and I’m looking forward to more in the series.

This was my first book by this author but far from my first hockey romance. I love boys with hockey sticks falling in love, so the synopsis sold me. Adding in the mafia aspect was a bonus. I was really excited to read Jack and Chase and meet the supporting characters and see the author tackled the two worlds they promised. I did not know this was in third person so when I started reading, I knew it would take me a bit more to get into the story which is fine, but sadly I never really felt like I did. I read with a sort of detachment which sometimes for me can happen with third person. I did enjoy the setting and the supporting characters quite a bit and had this gone deeper into the Little/Daddy dynamic I think this would have been a different reading experience.

We have Chase our young rookie and Little who has an ego and an attitude. He thinks he is unmatchable and feels he is in line to take over the reign of veteran player Jack who has been out on injury. He's cocky and a bit naive but has a sweet side who needs a Daddy to love. And Jack is ready to get back on the ice and prove to the NHL world that he will be leaving his legacy behind on a positive note. He's solid and dedicated and a Daddy who needs a boy to care for. These characters seemed to work just fine but I did not feel an emotional tie to them even by the end. As mentioned, their dynamic barely grazed the surface and the chemistry and smexy times suffered from this. I don't read many age play books but when I do I expect a lot of buildup of the characters getting to know one another, learning what works, what doesn't, and building solid trust. In my opinion most of this was lacking and the first spanking scene happened too soon and felt very fluffy. I also had issue with the dialogue as it did not seem natural but rather forced. I did really like Jack's veteran player friends Alex and Connor and Coach Tremaine. Antonio Doni the Mafia head was in a few scenes mostly with Jack and I liked him as well even though I wanted more out of his character. I liked Chase and Ricki's friendship although again, their Little dynamic was also just okay.

This felt like a really light read considering the tropes and the world in which it took place. We did get some action but it was very minimal and I was just expecting a different experience I suppose. For now I would most likely not revisit this series even though I liked the supporting characters and the little peeks into their potentially HEA's. I assume readers of Wish would like this just fine and some of my feelings probably come from maybe not the right book at this time.

I would probably give this a 2.5ish but seeing how it was just okay for me I kept my rating as it stands here.

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
mention of the death of a loved one, gun violence, Daddy/Little relationship, spanking as punishment (more than just hands)

Mafia and hockey together?! How did I get so lucky!? But…in saying that, I didn’t become immersed like I thought I would. This is my first read by this author, so there’s nothing to compare it to. It almost felt like it was the author’s first dabble in hockey and/or mafia. (It’s not.) And honestly, this is a ME problem. Not a reader or author problem, so I want to make sure that’s stated. Chase’s new team made him feel safe to be himself while getting to play hockey, and it doesn’t get much better than that. Unfortunately, that high he’s riding is upsetting the wrong people. Which is where Jack comes in, to babysit. They both get more than they bargain for! I’m really glad Chase was so undeniably himself, but to do it so selfishly, so arrogantly? It started to make him unlikable as a character. I know it was meant to ‘match’ the Daddy/Little of it all, but it just felt like something else entirely for me. It always felt like something was missing. In their relationship, in the build up to the involvement of the mafia.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “Cute as hell but, let me guess, a whole heap of trouble?”
• “Naughty boys get their butts warmed.”
• “You’re a good boy, I know you are.”

8/10 Dirty Birdy
4/10 Age Gap
3/10 Forced Proximity
4/10 Mafia Romance
8/10 Sports Romance

I like this new series from Zack Wish. It still has the mafia element, along with Daddies and their boys, but now hockey is added as well. Not my favorite sport, but am getting into it more since it is such a popular setting for books at the moment.

Jack is a veteran player, out recovering from an injury, and Chase is the hotshot player brought in to fill his spot. Chase is young, only 21, full of confidence and bravado, cocky about his talent and ready to brag about it, and ready to party anytime, anywhere. His off ice behavior is becoming a problem, and Jack is tasked with keeping him in line. Jack recognizes the Little in Chase, and finds that Daddy’s good old consensual spankings really help get the message across and into Chase’s brain. As outside forces add additional pressure on Jack to protect Chase, the attraction between the two ramps up and a lasting relationship is developing quickly.

Great characters, easy to identify with, quite a bit of action on and off the ice, not always hockey related, teammates that have each other’s backs, milkshakes and milkies, stuffies and other Littles come together for an enjoyable read for a new series. Waiting for the next one.

This is the first book in the Deadly Puck Daddies series and I really enjoyed it. This is the story of Chase Light and Jack Steel. Both men belong to the Mafia owned Ice Bears. Chase is a young superstar with lots of natural talent and potential. He is also a proud little. Chase is letting the fame seduce him and he is slowly getting out of control. Jack Steel is a daddy and the star center on this team. He is the captain and leads the team. He has earned all their respect. When he is assigned to keeping Chase on the straight and narrow Jack knows that sparks are going to fly. Good thing that he is a firm daddy to calm the situation down. This is their story. Chase learned that there is more to being a leader than just playing well. I liked how Jack shared his tips to make Chase a better player in the long run. This is a well written book that is easy to read. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

The start of the Deadly Puck Daddies series if they follow this author usual style they will read as standalones yet connected through deadliness, daddies, and their boys. Chase our hotshot superstar rookie for the ice bears team but the thing with rookies they don’t listen he parties too much, causes issues in the locker room, and just a tad bit too sassy for his own good in need of a strong daddy. Jack is the captain the best player on the team recovering from an injury he has witness this littles behavior knowing he needs a good, strong daddy and when he gets the call from mafia owner Antonio Doni and told to bring the lasts rookie under control by any means necessary, so he knows what needs to do for his boy. The moment Chase recognizes the daddy in him his little immediately takes notice and listen but will he do what he is told, can he help Chase with his skills providing rules, regulations for him, his stuffie, and are they headed toward something longer forever boy/daddy happiness?

Chase is excited to be playing for the Ice Bears and all the partying and excitement that brings - he’s planning on living it up. Jack is a veteran player for the Ice Bears and just wants to continue rehabbing from his injury and play hockey. When the franchise mafia bosses make it clear that Jack won’t be playing unless he can get Chase and his playboy ways under control, Jack realizes that this season has a lot more at stake than just hockey - and now he has to convince Chase of that as well…. I loved watching Chase finally come into the confident hockey player and person he is under Jack’s care and guidance and watching Jack become more confident in himself and his body with the help of Chase - so good!! The side characters were a treat as well! I can’t wait to read more in this series!

Pucking Deadly is an interesting start to a new series but unfortunately it was only an okay read for me. I did like Jack and his friends a lot but Chase just came across as entitled and spoiled for most of the story. They didn't seem to have a real connection and I really wish that they had spent a lot more time getting to know each other and discussing their wants and needs before they started their relationship. The problems they faced with the owners of the team was interesting but the issue was over so quickly after all the build-up that I felt a bit let down. Overall this story felt a bit unfinished but I really liked the secondary characters and I do want to read the next book to find out what happens with Ricki.

Hockey and Mafia go hand in hand. The Doni Family are the current owners of the Ice Bears Hockey team. Jack Steel has just returned from rehab and is instructed to watch Chase and make sure he stays out of trouble. Jack is a 38 year old seasoned player and knows what to expect. Jack is also a Daddy. Chase Light is a 21 year old rookie and he is a little. Chase loves being on the ice and likes to party. Chase has come up through the ranks and is happy playing for the Ice Bears. He thinks he is unstoppable. When Jack shows up to talk Chase is cocky and does not listen. Will Jack by able to keep track of Chase and calm him down??? Will Chase follow Jack's advise or will he go off on his own???? Will Chase find his forever daddy????.

Fast paced
I have got to say I really enjoyed this read
Chase is an amazing hockey player and he knows it. But instead of being a team player he is happy to go it alone. But what he doesn’t know is that the mafia own the team and they want him to settle down so they get Jack to go and have a quiet word to him about his partings ways. But things are electric when Jack and Chase are together could something happen there???
I really like the dynamic between Chase and Jack but Chase can be a little brat when he wants his own ways. The passion between them is electric but are they both safe when a war between the mafia and another family arises??? A really good read.

When I read the blurb for this book, I was so excited. Mafia, hockey, and age gap? Count me in! This book had potential, but I didn’t love it. I didn’t really see the connection or chemistry between the MC’s. Chase, in my opinion, was just plain insufferable. I am all for a brat and daddy/little dynamic, but Chase was next level. I also found that once we got to the climax/action of the story it wrapped up to quickly. It felt me thinking “that’s it?” I didn’t find the outcome and how that was dealt with believable. I am willing to continue with the series and give it another shot. I am curious about Ricki’s story.

This book had it all for me—hockey, age play, great characters and the twist of the mafia that gave it depth. Seems these two are on a team owned by the mafia who rule their way . Veteran player Jack has always played by and followed the riles whereas new comer Chase lives by his own rules and does as he wants. In this case that might get him terminated. I love the daddy/little part of the story especially the juxtaposition of Chase being so cocky and confident on the ice but not off of it. A sweet story with a dark twist that drew me in quickly. I loved how the two men were strong enough to hold their own and handle the other. Fun to watch Jack try to save chase from himself while falling in love. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.

This was an enjoyable story about 2 men on a hockey team, owned by the mafia. "The mafia," you say? Yes, but hockey plays on the center stage here with a grizzled veteran and a hotshot rookie. There are plenty of sparks between the two, both with opposite playing styles and in the fact that Jack is a Daddy and Chase a Little.

The graphic sex in the book is both appropriate and hot! The characters have wonderful depth, making this a pleasure to read.

There is an HEA which will have you cheering for this duo both on and off the ice.

I love hockey romances and have read a lot of them. I loved the original premise of this new series, what a fun idea to mix mafia, Daddy/boy, and hockey. The hockey side of the story did work, especially the team dynamic. There’s a good mix of characters and I really liked Jack and his veteran group of Connor an Alex. I did struggle with Chase however, he comes across more arrogant and entitled than just bratty and young. His personality is pretty off putting, especially early in the book. The relationship side also felt a bit forced to me, as unfortunately didn’t feel much chemistry in Jack and Chase’s relationship.

I love a good hockey romance and I love a kinky book, but unfortunately this book just didn't work great for me. Chase is the newest stud on a great hockey team - and he's drawing a lot of attention. Unfortunately a lot of it isn't great and that spells trouble for the mafia family that owns the team. Jack, a team veteran, is tasked with keeping Chase out of trouble. The premise is great and I liked Jack and a lot of the secondary character's a lot!

Unfortunately I didn't click with Chase and I felt like that D/s scenes were so completely unrealistic that it took me right out of the book. That said, I'd be willing to read the next book in the series because the premise is so great!

'The boy’s trouble, but he might just be worth it – both on the ice and off it too.'

I really enjoyed this book. I love mm mafia romance, and love the mafia Daddies. A mafia family running a hockey team was an interesting new angle I hadn't read before and I was looking forward to it. I liked both Jack and Chase and enjoyed the tension between them. Chase was confident and skilled, but a brat. I liked seeing how Jack would handle him and try to keep him in line.

'For all of his cocky exterior and brattish outbursts, it was perfectly evidence to Jack that Chase was in fact a sensitive young man who craved guidance and sometimes a firm hand too.'

A nice read. 4 stars

This story has a lot going on and is full of action both on and off the ice. When Chase gets out of control, Jack is required to take him in hand which leads to some unexpected reactions. The mafia adds an additional element of danger to everyone, especially Jack and Chase. I enjoyed the story and especially the connection between them that grew stronger each time they were together. I would definitely recommend it as a story worth reading.

Exciting! Chase is the new rookie on the Ice Bears. He's a bit of a loose cannon and doesn't follow rules. Does he need someone to guide him? Jack is a veteran working through a potential career ending injury. He's tasked to help bring Chase in line and on line. Ownership makes it clear that there is a lot more at stake than just hockey. The heat kicks up and we're on the edge of our seats trying to see if Jack can bring Chase to be the man he can be while Jack steps up his own game. Fun, a bit of a nail biter and oh so sexy. Well done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I typically try to avoid Mafia books as I’m against violence, but I figure I’d take a chance, because how bad could it be. It has hockey and Daddy/little dynamics. Boy am I glad I picked this up. It was wonderful. A perfect mix of the dynamics I love with just a touch of the mafia in it. You can’t help but fall in love with Chase and Jack and their dynamic.

The books reads like the semi-perfect love stories I enjoy but leaves you wondering what’s next for this beloved hockey team, The Ice Bears. Looking forward to the next installment in this series.

I wasn't sure just what to think when I started reading Pucking Deadly. I love all the elements involved... men, lots of hunky, sexy men. Daddies, strong yet lovable daddies. Littles... bratty boys who need a firm hand at times and a cuddle and a warm bottle at others. Hockey! One of my favorite sports to read about! And the mafia... hot and dangerous, indeed. But all at once? In one book? And it be good? I loved it! I need more!!.

I was really curious when I saw the title for this one, where the "deadly" could come in, but when I saw mafia, hockey and age gap mixed together I was all in. My first mafia sports story and I loved Jack and Chase. The fact that Jack is experiencing health problems and thus having to face what will come after his career while watching Chase with everything ahead of him arrogantly risking everything made for an interesting dynamic between them. The suspense generated by the owners was well handled and worked extremely well with the romance.

This is only the second book I’ve read by this author as I’ve read a few daddy books but never really jumped at the daddy/little stories. I liked the title and that this was an age gap and hockey/mafia story and didn’t read the full blurb to pick up on the littles aspect of the story but I’m actually glad as I probably wouldn’t have picked this story and would have missed a really good read, I really liked Jack and Chase and am looking forward to reading Alex’s story next.

Chase is a hockey rookie on the same Ice Bear team as legendary Jack. But Chase has attitude and needs Daddy Jack to guide him, teach him, discipline him and love him. With Zack's trademark Daddy/Little care, spankings and mafia men, he adds hockey touches to change up his books. I enjoyed Jack and Chase was a Little brat but a good boy. Chase, a talented rookie on the Ice Bears hockey team, is known for his sassy attitude and partying, causing tension in the locker room. Jack, the team's captain, is recovering from an injury but still holds influence. The team's boss, Antonio Doni, tasks Jack with bringing Chase under control. Jack, who has a Daddy personality, takes on the challenge and helps Chase navigate his Little side. The story explores the dynamics of a mafia-owned hockey team and the budding relationship between Jack and Chase, as they face external pressures and consider becoming the first DDlb couple in hockey.

This book defies explanation at times. It’s a wonderful mixture of hockey, Daddy/little age play, and mafia that somehow manages not to be completely ridiculous. It works so well even though it really shouldn’t. Jack and Chase are hot as hell today. Their relationship as Daddy and Little unfolds naturally, even as they are two of the best players on the team, the rookie and the veteran. Oh, and the team just happens to be owned by the Mafia. Hey, it could happen.
