Turns out all's NOT fair in love and war, and this supernatural battle is just beginning.

Stella and Ethan are quickly learning that every step forward leaves them two steps back. Sure, they now know where to find the countercurse that will give them a shot at happily ever after, but stealing another coven's grimoire was never going to be easy.

And even if they can get their hands on the spell book, there's no guarantee they haven't been tricked. Their last hope ends up being their next mistake.

Breaking Bridget Bishop's centuries-old curse on Ethan's family line causes a new kind of evil to leak into the world—an evil that has them fighting for their lives against an enemy neither of them foresaw.

Fans of K.F. Breene, Kim Richardson, and Charissa Weaks will soon become obsessed with this enemies-to-lovers, found-family, steamy paranormal romance.

USA Today bestselling author A.S. Green lives in chilly Minnesota and spends the all-too-short summers on Lake Superior, which is the muse for her paranormal and contemporary romances. She writes complex characters, action-packed plots, and snarky in-your-face banter. And, of course, loads of steamy love scenes.

When she's not writing romance, she's probably watching Outlander or pleading (unsuccessfully) with her husband to don the kilt she bought him last summer.

"Have I told you I love you? Well, you're going to be hearing it a lot more often now. You're probably going to get sick of it, because my vocabulary has just shrunk down to those three words."

5 stars!

What another fantastic and surprising addition to this series by one of my favorite authors! I don't know how Anne manages to continue to make each book even more swoony while still weaving in surprising secrets that will keep us reading until the end, but I absolutely devoured this sequel. I've come to really adore Ethan and Stella together as they seem to balance each other out beautifully while their budding relationship is continually put to the test. As Ethan and Stella struggle to break Ethan's curse, they are forced to align with old enemies in order to overcome unforeseen obstacles while at the same time struggling to accept surprising new truths. I loved how this book really highlighted the strength and love that Ethan and Stella find in each other and those who care for them, and I cannot wait to see what will happen next🖤

Tropes: enemies-to-lovers, forbidden love, fated mates, cinnamon-roll hero, magical heroine, hidden powers, magical prophecy, hero-in-danger, found family, slow burn, mild cliffhanger ending (part of a series), STEAMY🔥

My Ethan, the charming and sexy gubernatorial candidate after your heart...

This is the third book in AS Green’s Wicked Coven series, and like book two, it starts where we left off with ALL the intensity.

And it literally doesn’t stop until the last few chapters. (My poor, aging heart! LOL)

I very much enjoy Green’s writing. She paints vivid stories that you just lose yourself in.

If all the books I’ve read by Green, this one’s was the most intense. But the pacing is still very good. Even though the overall pace is high, there are a few tender moments in the mix, which helps balance it out.

And with those tender moments comes some spice. I really appreciate the way she handles spice. I mean, there are so many words and phrases, but Green’s creativity helps those expected phrases feel less…redundant. And the scene still feels fresh.

The way she weaves the parts about the pairing, starting in book 2, is quite beautiful, and helps bring some freshness to the paired mates trope.

Minor spoiler:

This does end in a cliffhanger—one I wasn’t expecting until the last 2% of the book—but I’m grateful for it. There was a plot hole I thought would be left gaping open, but is beautifully pulled forward from book 1. (I totally forgot about it.)

I look forward to book 4!

First and foremost, I just want to thank A.S. Green for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this series! It has become one of my favorite witchy reads and I cannot wait for The Collector's Hoard to come out next year!

Shadow Gambit was an amazing continuation to Stella and Ethan's story, and was probably my favorite book in the series so far. It literally had me on the edge of my seat, covering the bottom of pages so that I wouldn't read ahead and spoil things for myself. There were so many twists and secrets that were revealed in this book, and I had a hard time putting it down to go to bed. I experienced such a wide range of emotions throughout this story, even shed some tears and let out a few audible gasps. The tension and heat between Stella and Ethan makes me want to melt! This series deserves way more hype than it receives and I wish more people knew about it. It is a beautiful bend of magical history and fantasy. I'll definitely be spreading the word!

🐦‍⬛ ARC Review 🐦‍⬛

Shadow Gambit by A.S. Green, is Book 3 of the Cursed Descendents Series. It continues the action, spooky drama & wicked hot sex of Ethan & Stella's story. 🥵🔥💋 (If you first haven't read Wicked Coven & Villainous Magic... I definitely recommend you do that! 😉) The story immediately picks up moments after Villainous Magic ends. Grab some water, a comfy seat and hold on! You will want to read it all the way thru and not take any breaks. As usual, A.S. Green masterfully throws in some twists & turns with this story. This one is darker with unexpected deaths and a demon chaos spree happening. You get answers about Ethan's past, Ethan & Stella pairing (...swoon 🥰) and the two covens. Excited to find out A.S. Green is continuing this series with the Collector's Hoard in early 2024.

✨️I also bought this gorgeous paperback to add to my collection.

Rcvd an advanced reader copy from booksprout for giving my two cents. Stella and Ethan lives have just got wayyyy more complicated. Stella still needs to break Bishop's Curse in Ethan and she thinks she knows how but that would be "acquiring" the grimoire from the Boston Coven. The Boston Coven is still after Ethan and they must hide to think of their next steps. With the help of the wolves and Stella's employee Marcus, they work together to end the curse. What they didn't imagine was the curse releasing a demon out into the open. Lives are at stake around the area and the best option is to join forces with foes to stop the new evil. There is also Stelle and Ethans pairing that needs to happen. Kidnappings, OMG moments, and unraveling the truth make this a sit on the edge of your seat book.

I'm already counting down the days until the next book comes out in this fabuous series because that cliffhanger about killed me. This series must be read in order because each one starts where the last one ends, and we are thrust back into the action, danger, suspense, and steam that make up this fabulous story. We do get some answers in this one, but those answers just lead to more danger. I freaking love the direction this one took. I loved the fast pace, the twists and turns that just kept coming, and the relationship between Ethan and Stella is swoonworthy. It's a magical read and book 4 can't come soon enough.

Another great book

Another fantastic book. I'm really glad just about everything major got wrapped up with a few minor details still in question that will continue into the next book in the series. And that ending! I knew something about that kids story had to be real but I wasn't expecting that. I love that Stella and Ethan have finally come together as one powerful unit but man is Ethan's positivity and forgiveness pushing things to the next level. After everything that happened I just can't believe he's forgiven both the coven and C.R that easily. That seems like a major stretch to me but otherwise I'm really excited for the next book.

Ethan and Stella's story continues in Shadow Gambit book three in the Cursed Descendants series. This book picks up right where book two left off. If you've been reading this series from the beginning then you know how great it is and the author does not disappoint. From the well developed characters and captivating storyline to the danger, magic, mystery, and unexpected twists this is a great addition to the series. After that cliffhanger ending I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens next. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I love this series. This book is great. The only reason I gave it 3 stars 🌟 was because most of the spicy scenes were not good. It felt like they were thrown in just to be there. Honestly, I just kind of glanced through them to make sure I wasn't missing anything important.
Stella, an Ethan story, was amazing without 95% of the spicy scenes, the only decent spicy scene. Was when they paring their magic. Honestly, I can't wait to get into the next book. I wish goodreads let us do 1/2 stars 🌟 but I will buy the physical books.

Ethan and Stella's non-stop drama immediately continues in book three, alongside the suspense, danger, and unexpected twists. As the reader anticipates the two main characters' HEA, no, the author throws another twist. I recommend you read this series, you will not be disappointed. Ethan and Stella FINALLY paired their magic. More like they had to but... in this book was alot of heartache and also things that we should of seen coming. I am not going to ruin it for you but things come to light for the good (not so sure yet) but I can't wait to see.

Good simple read

Continued with the story nicely. One small twist at the end but other than that a pretty straightforward plot and able to guess some of the outcomes. Overall still a good read

I’m enjoying the series and will continue on after a little break.
It feels like this first plot line has been nicely wrapped up giving me a chance to have a slight break before I finish up the last 3 books in the series.

Exciting paranormal events that raises the blood pressure, increases the heart rate from beginning to end

Shadow Gambit (Cursed Descendants Book 3) by A.S. Green brings series fans back into the heart of magical action and suspense. We were left knowing there was another test coming and as we expect, things go right but the outcome is not as expected.
The plot is filled with emotional turmoil that ebbs and flows as Stella and Ethan come together and get pulled apart. As the suspense, danger and magical threats increase, so too does their magical bond. Making them stronger and more confident.
Overall, no matter what is thrown at Ethan and Stella, magical or emotional, their magical pairing is pure, true and fueled by so much love. The element of finding a resolution to the threat is a happy for now feeling of relief, but there's another threat on the horizon. Not to mention the emotional minefield Ethan has dropped in his lap. Stella and Ethan both know, since their magical pairing is unique, the calm and peace is likely short-lived. Another Cursed Descendants is on the way and if anyone can handle it, it's Ethan and Stella.
