I absolutely adored The Romance is Dead, so when I was able to receive an ARC from Daisy, I was so excited! Joy is the grumpy sister and Jacob is the golden retriever that fell for her instantly. I love it when a hero knows what he wants and goes for it! The wacky town kept up its antics and the rubber duck jokes were in full swing! There was no third act breakup and I was so happy for Joy and Jacob ❤️
I can’t wait for Grace’s story! I highly recommend both books! Pick this up when it releases!
This little quirky town of Loverly Town Cove just cracks me up! Their happy go lucky, pleasantville, hippiness is just too darn cute!
Joy is a pathologist who discovers her “boyfriend” is in fact married. When her mom calls to give some bad news she rushes home only to find out it’s a hoax. However, Jacob, the tattooed, hippy, Viking look a like who has jokes for days instantly falls in love with her an declares her his. Joy spends everyday fighting off his advances while simultaneously falling head over heals for his charms.
It was nice to be back in Loverly and get Joy’s side of things that we got glimpses of in Hopes book. She’s definitely got her walls up and Jacob is hellbent on breaking them down. These two were just adorable to read about and I really ended up liking their story. I can’t wait to see Grace and Luke’s relationship!

Daisy never fails to write a good comedy! full of banter, fun and sweet moments so it’s safe to say that "Meet my Wife" wasn’t the exception
One of the things i liked the most about it Joy and Jacon is the relationship between, the undeniable chemistry and how good they complement each other
I literally laughed so hard reading this book and passed a good time while reading, i loved Jacob's character, confident, funny, reliable and complete obsessed with Joy, and Joy she is literally me 😭 i found myself in her most of the time and it was real comforting knowing that i could connect really quickly with her <3
If you want to enjoy yourself, laugh and enjoy swoon worthy moments this book is for you !!! 🧸
Thank you so so much Daisy for the ARC provided i wish everything great in your release day! 🫂
This was such a sweet, fun and beautiful read, I really enjoyed it! The banter, the references and the dynamics between the characters was a major highlight for me. Following on from book one, we get more Insta love with a different meet cute this time and this couple are easily my new favourite.
Joy is prickly, cold and completely focused on her work so she’s thrown for a loop when she arrives to a new town and meets Jacob who is her polar opposite and sparks fly between them. He is the definition of a golden retriever, and his obsession with rubber duckies had me in constant giggles. But when he got her into bed a switch flicked and oh my, this man had a filthy mouth 🥵
I loved how Jacob was so confident in their connection, he didn’t let her attitude or complete denial of their chemistry deter him from pursuing her. He had enough love for her right from the start and showed her daily what life could be life if she stayed in Loverly Cave with him.
I absolutely love the quotes at the start of every chapter And the twist? The twist I did NOT see coming! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a sweet read with these vibes… ✨ fake engagement ✨ one night stand to lovers ✨ reverse grumpy / sunshine ✨ small beach town ✨ no third act breakup
ARC Review. Thank you to author Daisy Thorn for the advanced copy of this book. This is the second book in the “Loverly Cave” series. First, I want to know where I can find a Jacob…he is sunshine and completely invested in his relationships, I adored him. Both main characters, Joy and Jacob, piqued my interest in the first book so I was anxious to know their stories. Jacob fits perfectly in the quirky town of Loverly Cave and Joy is the ultimate grump who misses her solitary existence in Chicago. Jacob’s attraction to Joy was comical in the first book and doesn’t disappoint in book two. From their first meeting there is so much tension between them. Jacob, and Loverly Cave, teach Joy how to work through her emotions and how to really examine the path her life has been on. Joy and Jacob both have to face some things from their past so they can figure out how to move forward together. Jacob’s unwavering belief in Joy was my favorite theme of the entire book. No matter how hard she pushed him away he kept pursuing and supporting her. That’s a beautiful kind of love. There are several interactions that built up my anticipation for book 3 coming next year.
Jacob is such a cinnamon roll and a golden retriever. Sweet on the streets. FREAK IN THE SHEETS.
“And here I thought I was more of a golden retriever. Friendly, funny, and loyal to a fault. Oh, and they are also such cuties.”
Joy and her sarcastic mouth would make me laugh out loud. She knew how to dish it out and her internal dialogue was hilarious.
“My vagina screams, With his cock? Twenty-four-seven, please! Shutting the whore up, I switch my mind to the previous conversation.”
I absolutely adore Jacob. He is my Book boyfriend. He is such a bright rubber ducky that slowly breaks down Joys perfectly crafted grumpy non smiling personality. He shows her how she should be loved. How she has always deserved to be worshiped and desired.
This was a super sweet, funny, and HOT second book in the Loverly Cave series. I can not wait for Luke and Grace. I believe Luke might be something else.
Daisy my friend you wrote this beautifully and with the right amount of everything! Can’t wait for others to enjoy this. Because you will!
4⭐️ i received this as an arc, but my thoughts on this book are my own. this book was super cheesy and corny and i really smiled a lot throughout this book. i loved the reverse grumpy/sunshine. and the smutt in this was like immaculate 3🌶️ (very spicy for a small town book). as much as i enjoyed this book, i felt like it was a bit too cheesy for me. jacob seemed a bit too childish for my liking and i felt as if everyone downplayed joy’s feelings. i wish there was more scenes where jacob and joy had heart felt talks. i really wanted to know more about jacobs character (other than the fact that he’s the towns happiest person). i’m honestly very intrigued with grace’s book 👀 soo i might read that when it comes out! overall super fun, i smiled and laughed a lot.
“Stop being so mean to me, or I swear to God I’ll fall in love with you.”
My second arc book, and I was so excited after reading The Romance Is Dead that I got to read this as an arc. Thank You! 🥰
Amazing!!! Jacob and Joy had me grinning the whole book. The fun, banter, surprises, and everything else was so fun to read. Everyone needs some fun and silliness in their lives. And 🦆 🦆🦆🦆 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
“You are impossible; you know that?” “And you are more beautiful today than you were yesterday,”
This book was just perfection! Completely devoured it in one sitting - Joy and Jacob are my new favorite! Their banter was just amazing and their chemistry 🥵🥵🥵 Jacob was so perfect for Joy and exactly what she needed, he loved her with everything he had and completely accepted her and saw her for who she truly was🥰🥰 absolute soulmates😍 I love how he didnt just protect her but he understood her and didnt try to change her, he accepted and loved her for exactly who she is and she never truly had that before. Their love story is just beautiful🫶🏼🫶🏼
She can be as cold as she likes to everyone out there, that’s her choice, but in here? In here, she is my wildflower. My perfect girl. Mine.
💚Reverse Grumpy/Sunshine 💚One Night Stand to Lovers 💚Fake Engagement 💚"Good girl" 💚No 3rd Act Breakup
“I don’t know what is going on in that beautiful head of yours, but if you think I will ever let you go, you are gravely mistaken.”
THE TWIST - i was absolutely shocked, can honestly say i never saw that happening but i loved how it all played out. Alec and Jacobs friendship and texts had me cracking up, they were hilarious! This small town is so funny and special, i have absolutely loved this series so far! I loved the Alec and hope scenes, this book is set in the same time as the romance is dead and it was great seeing different sides of those situations from the first book! Such a sweet and fun read🫶🏻🫶🏻 Highly recommend this one!!
Warning for spoilers ahead because I just… have a lot of thoughts. There was just too much that I didn’t like vs things that I did. It was a sweet enough romance with some funny moments and I’m here for the sister bonding, that was my favorite part. Also if you’re looking for spice, you’re going to find it… Anyway— 1) there are no fucking boundaries. None. Not in the sweet “he challenges her and breaks down her walls” way. In the “please leave” “no, how could I leave my wife” “we are not dating” way. In the mother-steals-her-daughters-birth-control way. 2) these characters are VERY 1-dimensional. Joy is stubborn and mean. Jacob is happy and funky. You get the picture. No real growing happened there 3) the MC states more than once that she doesn’t really want kids. And in the epilogue she’s pregnant (WITH TWINS?!) 4) also she has a personality 180 with no buildup to it. She fights everything and then she just goes with it. +1) actually, credit where it’s due for no third act breakup shit
With that said… I will probably read Grace’s book out of genuine curiosity
The premise of this book seems nice and there are certain elements that are really cool such as the sibling and family dynamics for both the MCs but it was barely expanded on and for the sisters, forgiven far too easily. TRIGGER WARNING; NON-CONSENT
This can be read as a stand-alone but I HIGHLY suggest you read book one because this will contain spoilers.
THIS BOOK 😍
I am obsessed with Joy and Jacob’s whirlwind of a relationship. Joy is down on life and love after finding out her boyfriend and boss of 3 years is ACTUALLY MARRIED..oh and sleeping with half the women of Chicago. She returns home in a scheme set forth by her mother and quickly finds herself feeling things for the weird, ducky shorts wearing, carefree, CLOSET SPICY MAN, tiny-house living, yoga instructor Jacob. 😍
Jacob has his heart set on Joy, the snarky, scowling, doesn’t want love woman that has rolled into town like a storm. They both start quickly peeling back layers of each other and uncovering truths NO ONE saw coming…. Oh, and if that’s not all…let’s add a little fake engagement in there to top it off!
This was a great read and now I’m just upset I have to wait until 2024 for book 3! Daisy how dare you! 😂

Ok but wait why was this honestly SO FUCKING GOOD! I can’t even gather my thoughts because I’m honestly blown away at how I literally devoured this book. I did not want to stop, I couldn’t stop. I was head over heels in love with the entirety of this book. It made me feel just so light and airy and HAPPY. Like I love the whole concept of this town. I loved the meddling families, the sense of community and how everyone is just their own level of weird and it’s so damn cute.
And god do I fucking love a reverse grumpy sunshine because as someone who has a permanent RBF, I love reading about FMC’s that are a little bit cold, emotionally closed off and have sarcasm and wit for days and that is totally Joy but what I love even more is when someone comes along and completely turns their life upside down and that’s what happens when Joy finds her way to Loverly Cave Town at the hands of her meddling mom. By the way I loved her! She was outrageous in her scheming and crazy plotting to try and get her daughters back home!
And who might be the man that turns Joy’s black and white life into full blown technicolor but Jacob. The tatted, man bun wearing, rubber ducky enthusiast, surfer AND owner of a tiny house. Listen, I am completely GONE for this man. Ultimate book boyfriend material. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved him. He’s so sweet, hilarious and also so fucking hot and has a dirty mouth in that I was NOT prepared for. Under that carefree golden retriever energy is a hidden Dom and boy does he let it out in the bedroom because those spice scenes 🥵🥵🥵 and also his backstory is completely incredible, the way I GASPED when I read about him! That plot twist 👩🏽🍳💋
“Stop being so mean to me, or I swear to God I’ll fall in love with you.”
This was super cute and quirky and I just loved it! The characters and banter were hilarious and had me laughing out loud! There were sweet moments that just had my heart melting- BUT those steamy moments… oh man they had me blushing 🤪🤭 I think there was the perfect amount of everything- emotions, laughs, spice, family bonding.. and it was just a very enjoyable read!
The town of Loverly Cave is exactly what you’d expect from the name. There’s so much love and happiness coming from every person that lives there- until our grumpy Joy comes along. Because despite what her name explicits, she is not a joyful person.
After her boyfriend and little sister ran off together 10 years prior and now her boyfriend of 3 years turns out to be married, she has completely given up on happiness. She doesn’t smile, doesn’t laugh, doesn’t have a life outside of being a pathologist.. And she prefers it that way.
But, after a “family emergency” is called, having her pack her bags and head to Loverly Cave, Joy finds herself meeting an adorable, weird, ducky obsessed, but incredibly hot “Viking”, Jacob.
Jacob has a past. One that he strives to leave there. He was tired of the life he was living, one full of high society and prestige that focuses on images. After finding his wife at the time in bed with his half-brother, he made the decision to travel. Eventually choosing to reside in Loverly Cave and not wanting to ever leave. Especially now that a certain woman has shown up, initiating the town’s and Joy’s mother’s secret plan. But can he break through the walls of Joy? Can he make her fall in love with being carefree and happy? Can he make her fall in love with him? She is his “wife” after all. 😉
Thank you, Daisy Thorn for this hilarious, sweet, and spicy ARC! I had so much fun reading it and getting to read about Jacob and Joy. 💕
With so much incredible bad luck, Joy finds herself once again taking the L in the love department, and no the L didn’t stand for love lol. After the ending of her first relationship and how that plummeted so quickly, she learns that she is barely receiving the bare minimum in the love department.
After a detrimental phone call from her mom she is forced to leave Chicago and return home to find that the phone call that she received from her mom was not at all detrimental 😳 She begins to learn and love how weird Loverly Cave really is (that’s where her parents live)
Insert Jacob, the most bizarre man, hippie, blonde haired bun man, and lastly….the man LOVES rubber duckies 🥹 A golden retriever man, an optimist, who sees the half glass full in every opportunity possible.
Insert Joy, the irony in Joy….she is the darkest cloud that will rain on anyone’s sunny day, the pessimist, the spoil sport, and the one who absolutely hates happy people.
This book is a reverse grumpy x sunshine. (My first!) I fell in love with this book so fast, it was incredibly hard to dislike Jacob and caught myself laughing at Joy’s opposite effect of Jacob.
Rating: 5/5 Spice:🌶️🌶️🌶️ Tropes 🐥reverse grumpy x sunshine 🐥small town romance 🐥golden retriever man 🐥HEA 🐥fake relationship 🐥forced proximity
first off, thank you so much daisy for providing the ARC, i feel so honored and i had the best time reading about jj (aka the wildflower and the viking)
i absolutely loved joy and jacob’s story. reverse grumpy sunshine is such a superior trope and it definitely didn’t disappoint, that combined with cute small town vibes, hilarious banter, sweetest most adorable scenes, quite some spice AND no third act breakup, made this the perfect romcom!
it all starts with joy being heartbroken over her cheating ex and then her deciding to have a one night stand, in a small town where her mother lured her to, with jacob: a guy she expects to never see again, she never even tells him her name.
joy wants nothing to do with jacob, but their undeniable chemistry keeps pulling them together and they run into each other everywhere (sometimes through the scheming from her matchmaking mother) besides, jacob doesn’t walk away from a challenge, he wants to be with her and he won’t take no for an answer.
then an unexpected guest shows up in their small town and suddenly joy and jacob are now in a fake engagement.
i absolutely loved joy. she’s an amazing sister to hope and grace and her grumpiness combined with jacob’s sunshine was the perfect combination. jacob really brought out the best in joy and i loved seeing her let her guard down. i especially loved how joy’s grumpiness made jacob love her even more.
jacob was a cutie pie, a literal golden retriever who’s the best plant parent to ever exist and he also has awesome shark slippers and rubber ducky clothes. i loved him and how patient he was with joy.
“𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅. 𝑴𝒚 𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓.”
“𝑨 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓?”
also the epilogue was so cute and i literally cannot wait to read about grace and luke’s story!! the crumbs of them in this book were GIVING. i need them like right now pls.
What to expect 🖤 small beach town MF romance ~ Jacob and Joy 🖤 reverse grumpy/sunshine 🖤 one night stand to lovers 🖤 fake engagement 🖤 meddling mothers 🖤 he falls first 🖤 curvy FMC 🖤 “good girl” 🖤 passion for rubber ducks
Loverly Cave is the sweetest little beach town that, like its name implies, is full of love. The residents are nosey and meddlesome but have the very best intentions. Jacob has lived there for the past five years. He has rejected his past to life to completely embrace a minimalist, hippy lifestyle. He is happy, funny and very weird. All in a good way. Joy is called to town under false pretences by her parents. She has recently been betrayed by her boyfriend but she has zero intentions in staying in this bazaar little town where everyone is handing out hugs and there is no good coffee. It goes completely against her nature. Joy barely ever cracks a smile let alone laughs. Her serious and disciplined nature doesn’t allow for feelings. Jacob and Joy hook up for a one night stand. It was amazing but Joy has no plans to see him again. Her family and their friends believe it’s a love match. Jacob obsessively pursues her, joking they will be married. Their romance has lots of push and pull. Joy is reluctant in love, but ducky loving Jacob is kinda irresistible. I really enjoyed their humorous story. For as free spirited as Jacob is, he really brings out his dominant side in the bedroom, on the couch, in the shower etc. 🔥 The characters are all unique and endearing. I look forward to revisiting this town and finding out what’s going on with Luke and Grace.
ARC Book Review Meet My Wife A Novel Written By Daisy Thorn Fiction - Romance Published September 27, 2023 371 Pages ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Daisy Thorn delivers again with the second book in the Loverly Cave Series. This book like the first book in the series is packed with cuteness, humor, and spice. This book truly is a romantic comedy. There are several scenes in the story to make you laugh.
The author has written a story with reverse grumpy sunshine, a meddling family, a fake engagement, with a one night stand to lovers. There is also a twist that not only surprises readers but the two main characters.
Joy Levine, a pathologist living in Chicago, is summoned to her parents’ home in Loverly Cave, California under false pretenses. The first person she meets is Jacob Hunt. This leads to a one night stand and a budding relationship. After two broken relationships, Joy has guarded her heart. Jacob works very hard to charm Joy with his sunny disposition and humor.
I loved the playlist at the beginning of the book. I loved the quotes about love at the beginning of each chapter. I loved the 50 reasons Jacob gives Joy why she should marry him that are dispersed throughout the book. I also loved when the two main characters broke that fifth wall and spoke to readers.
I can’t wait for the third book in this series!
“Do you believe in love at first sight?” “A total no.” “Okay, let me walk by again.”
“I thought I would get murdered by a weirdo in this town; instead, I got wrecked by one.”
✨ARC REVIEW✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
There is something magical about reading a book that consumes you immensely to the point that you want to live in that world. Be friends with the characters, taking the MMC for yourself(sorry not sorry Joy😏).
Daisy has done it again. She has written a book that has me OBSESSING over the main characters. Wanting to live in this town. She writes flawed characters that are incredibly relatable. The character building is always phenomenal. Her writing style will utterly consume you and make you feel ALLLL the emotions…she makes you laugh out loud too.
I had been looking forward to JJ’s (Joy & Jacob) story since book one. I knew it was going to be good…Daisy blew my expectations out of the water. I LOVE THEM so much!
What you can expect to find in this book: 🖤Fake Engagement 🖤Reverse Grumpy/Sunshine 🖤One Night Stand to Lovers 🖤Curvy FMC 🖤SO MUCH BANTER 🖤Spicy RomCom
Joy has been hurt too many times and has built up some impenetrable walls around her heart. She prides herself in her work and remaining in control and never showing her emotions….when she ends up in the town of Loverly Cave she quickly realizes her walls might not be as strong as she had hoped.
Jacob is a sexy charming tattooed Viking of a man working at a tattoo shop with his best friend. He leads the towns morning Yoga. He’s persistent, passionate, and loves his Rubber Duckies. When he lays eyes on the new woman in town that has a permanent scowl, a prickly personality, with a mean mouth…he knows that she’s going to be his wife. Andddd the mouth on this man 🫠🥵🥵🔥😏 Cinnamon Roll in the streets and an Alpha Beast in the sheets 😂🥵 ⚠️you’ll need an extra pair of panties⚠️
“I’ll give you what you need, and you will forget whatever it was your smart mouth was saying before. Because we both know where you belong, and that’s with me and on this cock.”
Seriously, READ. THIS. BOOK. If you don’t, you are absolutely missing out. You will fall in love with this weird amazing little town and all of the characters. I know I did 🖤
This was a really cute, small beach town, reverse grumpy x sunshine, fake engagement!
Joy, (ironically) is a pathologist with with many honors and works at a university along with her boyfriend, Justin. They are at an awards ceremony when she finds out he's married, and she's been his mistress these last few years.
Her mom calls her in a panic, telling her to move home because dad has cancer and it's not looking good. She's not loving she had to come to this little weird town and goes to have a drink at the bar. Super hot, qwirky, viking man sits next to her, they chat, and have a one night stand. Why not? Not like she's going to be here long...
Well, plans change and Jacob is set on making this grumpy woman his and she is dead set on not letting Jacob become her fix.
I've never read a reverse grumpy sunshine before and found it refreshing. I liked Jacob's backstory once we got to know it. There's a big twist that turns everything around. I was interested in the story before the twist, but it really picked up for me and I really started to enjoy it once that part in the story happened. Jacob is really sweet and a lot of fun, and Joy's parents are insane. There was a lot of humor and overall it was really fun and enjoyable.
Daisy is a new author to me and I am so glad I read it! It was so fresh and funny. A quirky Jacob who is a tattoo artist with the most positive outlook ever bumps into Joy who has just landed in town for a family emergency having left a life that had just gone a bit pear shaped as a top pathologist in Chicago. Joy is as negative as they come and definitely puts the grumpy in the grumpy / sunshine trope! So what harm can a one night stand do to rid her of her stresses! Little did she know the hot Viking Jacob wouldn’t just accept a one night stand and neither would her meddling family! I really enjoyed this book, it had spice that I wasn’t expecting, it had so much banter I was certainly laughing out loud and it had a a few twists to the storyline which I always enjoy! I would recommend this new author to me for sure!

Oh yes yes yes! This book is so cute. Such a great rom com with lots of spice and banter that keeps you completely engaged with this couple. The golden retriever/black cat relationship Jacob and Joy have going on creates this dynamic that creates opportunities not only for humour, but also times for them each to show their mirroring side. Jacob appears to be this mountain man who lives in a tiny house and a small town, works as a tattoo artist, just all around free spirit but also has this other side of being able to take control and stand for exactly what he wants. Joy on the other hand is a hot mess. She running away from all her problems and has walls so high she doesn’t even remember who the real Joy is. She doesn’t want to set roots down in this town but Jacob is a hard man to refuse when he has the whole town cheering them on. The plot line is great and I spent the whole time rooting for them to make this work. It is the second book but appears to run parallel timelines to the first book and I didn’t feel lost not having read book one. Jacob gives Nick Miller vibes right until the end and I am here for it!
When I first met joy and Jacob in the romance is dead I loved them both! Joy is a prickly cactus who's been hurt before & doesn't think she deserves love because everyone leaves right?
Jacob said HOLD MY DUCK.
I almost forgot the mouth on this mannnn 😮💨
Jacob is the Viking hippy who is free spirited and his hair is so long because it holds all his secrets 🤫
They both have secrets, but Jacob is a determined fella who knows what he wants! You think you know what's going to happen and Daisy said HAHA nay nay
you never cease to amaze me with your writing 😍 I cannot wait for the next books in your series!
& I can't forget the chat threads with mama Levine and Alec's mom 🤭 that's one of my favorite parts of the book! Lol a she's literally the best and hilarious!
I have so many feelings for this book! It was oh so freaking cute and oh so spicy! Jacob is officially my book husband, he has a golden retriever personality with a very dirty mouth. Joy is the opposite of her name, she is an absolute grump and I loved it! I have never read a book where the girl is the grump and the guy is the sunshine so it was a really nice change. I highly recommend if you like

Meet My Wife is book 2 in the Loverly Cove series and releases September 27th!! This can be read as a stand alone but Hope and Alec’s story is just as cute!
After reading The Romance is Dead I couldn’t wait to read Joy’s story….
Meet My Wife was everything I needed for her story! Thanks for choosing me to read the ARC! ❤️
Joy is the grumpy one, Jacob the sunshine!
The push and the pull just kept you moving along as you watch their relationship grow. She never thought she was worth it but, he made her see she was worth it all.
“Make your weird light shine bright,so other weirdos know where to find you.”
Can’t wait for Grace’s story next…is it 2024 yet 😂
I don't think a book has ever made me laugh so hard and cry so many happy tears. Joy and Jacob's story is the perfect romantic comedy set in a quirky little coastal town in California where everyone is in everyone's business, but in the best way.
Joy is a career focused pathologist, and Jacob is a ducky wearing chill dude who turns her world upside down. Sparks and insults fly, and Joy attempts to resist Jacob's and his insistence that she will be his wife!
Daisy Thorn's writing will pull you in from beginning to end.
This book was fantastic! I really enjoyed book 1 and the story of Alec and Hope, but hot dang did Jacob just steal my heart.
Joy is a black cat with really good reason. Her first love runs away with her sister and her 2nd well you’ll find out… Jacob gosh he’s the golden retriever, hype man we all need in our life’s. With such a dirty mouth to go with it!
I loved the story of these two. The overlapping time line with book one was fun, and see tid bits of what’s to come with grace and grumpy gill luke!
I enjoyed heading back to the Cove and seeing another sister and how her life came to be there. If you haven’t ready The Romance is Dead I highly suggest reading it first to get the best experience for this book!
Joy is grumpy and closed off for a billion reasons, but really she just needs someone to chose her first and let her be. Enter Jacob, who won’t leave her alone even when she wants him to.
He’s the perfect sweet, caring, and confident guy to compliment Joy.
Daisy Thorn did not disappoint when it came to the second book in the Loverly Cove Series. In this book, we dive into Joy's story while she's in Loverly Cove. It was nice to have an FMC who was the true definition of a grump! She did not hold back at all! Jacob saw what he wanted and was not going to stop until he got it. Joy definitely has her walls up due to a past relationship but Jacob is set on helping her break those walls down. Let me tell you, I did not see the twist coming at all! IYKYK. I absolutely cannot wait for Grace and Luke's story. If you have not read this series you are definitely missing out.
Thanks to Daisy Thorn for the arc in exchange for my honest review
