AR Taboo stays in my rotation always. This was soo sexy I had to read it to my friend 😍👌🏽!! We were literally in the establishment losing our flip flopping minds. I couldn’t believe the amount of orgasms and creampie combos that were going on. It was like a smut reader’s wet dream.

Megan is trying to get back her brother, her best friend the only guy who has ever made her feel safe. What she doesn’t know is that Gray is feral now and scary and he may not be the man she thought he was.

Definitely taboo. H is a hybrid wolf shifter who can shift into a wolf-man form and will do anything to mate his littermate (obviously his sister, our h). The entire pack is against their pairing and is wary of H since he's a hybrid so they lock him up, but the sister makes plans for them to meet. The h doesn't recognize H at first, but once she does, the rest is history. They mated and claimed each other and under pack law, it must be respected.

Mmm okay. I LOVE fairytale tropes in smut stories. And this was a very short story, barely even a novella. But that's okay. Sometimes, a quick little snack-story is good for the heart. A little problem I had was with Gray being mostly nonverbal. Like? His pov was perfectly fine. Would have appreciated him being able to verbalize some of that to the sister. I'm left with questions, like: Was his lack of speech because he went feral? Can he even turn into his full human form now? I'd assume so, since his family seemingly brings him clothes every now and then. Smut was great, and there was potential for a plot. Which I wish we would've gotten, but I'm just greedy like that haha.

Ummmmmmm…. Look. This is a 1 star because of the littermates stuff, it’s the whole book & if it was a small part of it I might have rated it slightly higher. Outside of the littermates it’s not an awful erotic scene for a werewolf coupling, but the littermates & emphasis killed it. I get these are ‘taboo’ but it’s not my kinda taboo. I think it’s time to throw in the towel and not read more ar taboo because they’re never my kind of taboo & they’re all a little too similar. I think I’ve liked one and hated the rest so I guess it’s just not for me lol

Review of FERAL MATE

Alessa Riley’s first werewolf fantasy that I’ve read, earns 3 stars from me. While it was a good read, and I still remember it clearly after finishing it in December, it fell short in some areas that are important to me.

The story lacked sufficient interaction and depth. I didn’t enjoy the portrayal of the werewolf as someone who’s already losing his humanity. It made the character feel distant and less engaging. For me, a story shines when there’s meaningful dialogue and a clear backstory—elements that allow me to connect with the characters on a deeper level.

While the premise was intriguing, the lack of conversation and development left me wanting more. If you enjoy short and unique werewolf-themed stories, you might still appreciate this one, but it didn’t fully hit the mark for me.
