It’s Halloween and Mia and the gang are leaving the Bella for a rare opportunity. Spending the night in a haunted Irish castle!
But what was supposed to be a fun holiday with Edie and Kevin turns scary fast when the granddaughter of the castle’s most tragic ghost goes missing on Mia’s watch. Now everyone fears that history has repeated itself and the castle has claimed another soul.
Could Mia’s first solo excursion as assistant director be any more of a disaster?
Turns out, it can. Things go from bad to worse when two more passengers go missing and Mia, Edie, Kevin, and Brady find that secret castle passageways and ghost busting isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Can Mia find the missing passengers before it's too late? And can she really be the one who finally cracks the cold case murder—without becoming a victim herself?
Mia and the gang are on the case, and on the Bella’s party planning committee, and Halloween is shaping up to be spooktacular! All aboard for a scary good time as the Bella sails into a new mystery on Ireland's green shamrock shores.
Mia and the team have taken a group on the Bella for a Halloween excursion - a night at a haunted Irish castle. When the granddaughter of the ghost goes missing it's up to Mia and her friends to find out what's gone on.
A nice, cosy read, with a few spooky parts. It gave off Scooby Doo vibes - except they have a boat instead of the Mystery Machine.
Mia is a fab character and certainly doesn't give up when she feels someone isn't telling the truth. Her team are braver than me, going exploring in a haunted castle in the middle of the night.
international mystery & crime. ghost mysteries. amateur sleuth mysteries. came out Oct 25, 2023. that is strange on Goodreads it says nothing of being a series. but on Amazon it shows it is book 3 from "Mia Watson Cruise Ship Mysteries series.". if you are on or in Kindle Unlimited it is there.
A very interesting mystery when the passengers of a cruise ship are dropped off at an old, Irish castle to spend Halloween. Although most of the passengers thought that the sudden storm that knocked out the electricity was only an inconvenience, several people on board looked at the situation as an opportunity to look for ghosts. And guess what? There is rumor of a ghost inhabiting the castle.
Well, as the story unfolds we learn about the death of a woman who was set to inherit the castle and her husband. And this is because her granddaughter is on the cruise for the very purpose of solving the mystery of their deaths. Differing stories paint different pictures. The cruise director takes it upon herself to not only lead the way into uncovering the mysteries of the old castle, but soon is the key person to help solve the 53-year old mystery of deaths.
There is an interesting mix of characters who get involved in searching for clues and for the body of Maeve. The old castle holds many secrets and gives them up reluctantly. But Mia carries on with excellent helpers to uncover them all. Needless to say the search is ultimately successful and the killer of Maeve and her husband David is also uncovered. Very good story telling!
I've liked the story as the setting was great, the time of year was good, but I had trouble following some of the story. I think it was all the characters. I got the just of the story and followed the murder but some of the details and keeping track of the characters deluded me. I liked the story well enough to try another in the series and to see if I can follow those characters better.
I've been wanting a Halloween-themed cozy, and I have really been striking out finding one that ticked all my boxes.
This one, however, was excellent! It had just enough "Halloween-flavored" details. It had fun characters, well-written dialogue, and a fun location. I had an interesting mystery with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting, but not to make it too complicated.
I enjoyed this book the most out of the series so far!
The mystery was intriguing and much more interesting to me than the one in the previous book. I was invested in the story and the mystery this time around.
The haunted castle, mysterious disappearance, estranged grand daughter, and sudden storm were an exciting mix!
I also enjoyed watching our characters grow and seeing our main character find more of her footing.
I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series!
Mia was taking the lead on an excursion (usually the cruise director led those) since she’d actually planned it. But she might’ve been regretting it later as her passengers kept disappearing and reappearing in the castle rumored to be haunted. Mia sure had no idea they’d come across something to sleuth, but at least she wasn’t first to find it. Nothing like making new friends in a haunted castle I guess! A really fun Halloween read.
This is the 3rd in the series. The main characters again are Mia , her friend Edie and cruise cop Brady. This time the boat has stopped at an island in Ireland and Mia has gotten, the people on the cruise who are interested , a tour of a castle and a sleepover as well. Of course, everything that could go wrong , did. Now Mia is once again trying to figure everything out before it too late. I
A haunted castle, secret passageways, missing persons. So much fun to see how all the pieces get put in place. Oh, and at least one smoldering romance. Who could ask for more?
I've been on a Halloween Cozy mystery binge for the last few weeks and the cover on this book instantly drew my attention. For me it was a little slow in places but overall it was a fun little read.
