This is the first reiki book I ever read and I have to say that it is ok, except for that stupid story about Mikao Usui being a bible student. (Chapter 1 The Reiki Story as told by Virginia Samdahl)

I love this reiki handbook and I'm sure I will refer back to it for years to come. I am working towards getting my certification in reiki healing and this book was a great simple approach to the practice. I would recommend for anyone interested in reiki. Includes background history, personal experiences and step by step guidance. Great for students, practitioners and teachers alike. Five Stars.

It's on my recommended reading list for Reiki students. One thing that is meaningful to me is that the photos of hand positions picture the hands of Virginia Samdahl, who is now in spirit. She was Mrs. Takata's first Reiki master and she taught my Reiki master teacher.
