The clues to the present lie in the past…
Rose Marsden is struggling with the revelation that her new friend is a prostitute. So, when the friend goes missing, and her son begs Rose for help, she’s reluctant to get involved.
But when a young prostitute’s body is dumped at the base of a local statue, and Rose discovers that her friend was the last person to see the girl alive, she knows she must find her, before somebody else does.
As Rose delves deeper, she gets involved with a protest group campaigning to have the statue removed, hoping it will lead her to her missing friend. Instead, the discovery of an innocent schoolgirl’s body in the same place sparks fears of a serial killer.
Her friend is still missing. Is it possible that she’s the murderer, or will she become the next victim?
A page-turning mystery-thriller with compelling characters. Stone Cold is the second book in The Murder Mile series, but can be read as a standalone.

Christine Pattle writes thrillers. Countless hours spent watching every high-octane film available in her youth instilled a permanent love of edge-of-your-seat suspense. She soon moved from film to books, devouring all things thriller, crime and mystery.

When she’s not writing, she’s busy scaring herself silly riding big, feisty horses, or walking around the countryside dreaming up exciting new plots. As if that wasn't enough, she still manages to squeeze in the day job, trying to make small budgets do great things in the fight against homelessness.
