Sometimes love is more complicated than a math equation.
Rylee: I’ve always been invisible at my school, until I join the cheer squad. Now I’ve caught the attention of popular football player, Jason Monroe.
I should be happy, but I’m not. Because I secretly have a crush on my tutor—Jason’s twin brother, Mason. He’s so sweet and kind, and he sees me in a way no one else does. I wish I could tell him how I feel, but a smart guy like him would never fall for someone like me. So I bury my feelings and go out with Jason.
Mason: I have strong feelings for Rylee Barrington, but so does my twin brother. As much as it hurts, I back off so Jason can have a shot with her.
What she doesn’t know is that I took his place at a party, and she and I connected on a deep level. It wasn’t Jason she fell for that night. It was me. But I can’t tell her the truth because a cheerleader like her would never choose a nerd like me.
Or would she?
Cheerleaders Don’t Fall For Nerdy Boys is the eleventh book in the Invisible Girls Club, a sweet YA contemporary romance series. If you like invisible girls who snag the boys of their dreams, this book is for you! If you like invisible girls who snag the boys of their dreams, this book is for you!
Hi! I'm Emma and I write sweet YA romance novels that will make you swoon. When I'm not writing, I love to read, play video games, get lost in a good movie, and I eat way too much junk food. My sweet YA books include The Invisible Girls Club series, The Hotties Next Door series, and Crushing On The New Guy. I also write sweet adult romance books under Emma Lynne, including the Single Girls Club series. I love hearing from my readers, so please don’t hesitate to email me or follow me on Facebook.
To those who enjoyed the original Invisible Girls Club, then look no further because there’s more! This time, it’s a little different from most of its predecessors. Why? Because there’s another love interest!
It’s still a dual-POV but Cheerleaders Don’t Fall for Nerdy Boys is a love triangle, tutor, sports romance that has brought back old characters from it’s preceding series and introduced new ones. This time, we get to follow the youngest Barrington, Rylee, as her junior year begins and as she develops as a person and learns from her few mistakes.
Here’s a hot-take: I actually like a love triangle when it’s done right. I know most people don’t enjoy other person drama (trying to be neutral here) but I don’t mind it at all. I like to read about some “intense” boy drama occasionally.Especially when there’s IDENTICAL TWINS involved!
I’m trying to keep this review short, simple, and spoiler-free, but if you loved the Ruse by Judy Corry and the Boys of Riverside by Gracie Graham, then go check this out because it’s definitely a light-hearted hybrid of the two in my opinion. If you want my full review (spoilers included) then please let me know!
It’s not much I can say about this book. My review is going to be short.
So with that being said…. This one was a bit different than the others. Like with the twins Jason and Mason.
They both liked Riley but she wanted Jason. I couldn’t understand how she wanted him because of how he treated her and couldn’t figured out how he could be nice one minute and sweet but then the next day be different…
I was actually glad when she finally figure out her feelings wasn’t true to Jason and she actually had feelings for Mason because he wasn’t it for her.
But I do want to know who Jason will end up with. If it’ll be Tasha. I know it ain’t Tiffany because I don’t think he likes her like that …
But besides that I can’t wait for Zoey book to come out and figure out who that guy is that came in at the end of the book.
Not only that I hope that Brock gets a book as well because I am curious about him and what actually happened to him for him not to be with his family and not speaking to his friends…
3 stars. The main love story was super cute and I enjoyed it. However, this book had so many references and Easter eggs to other books in the series that it was often distracting from something I just wanted to treat as a one-off. Still, I'm excited to have finished my first book for 2024 as the last few years have been very difficult reading-wise for me!
Mason is my new book boyfriend 😍 I honestly thought Rylee would get on my nerves when she was so rude to Mason during her first tutoring session. As a fellow nerd, I absolutely HATE when people waste my time, as if my time isn't important. But Rylee apologized and straightened out. Mason made her feel smart, heard, and safe and their friendship was sweet to watch develop. And then.....Mason's twin brother Jason sets his eyes on Rylee and things get complicated 😅 Hated that Mason stepped aside for his brother but.....it may have been something both Jason and Rylee needed, to learn. Jason was such a good brother that it was hard to wrap my head around what a bad bf he was he. Like abysmally bad lol I'm glad Rylee stood up for herself and Mason and that Mason was mature enough to respect his brother's need for space. Absolutely LOVED this romance and curious how Zoey will fair in the next novel 🤭☺️
4.5 Stars AWWWWW that was so freaking CUTE !! In this book we move to a new generation of the Invisible Girls club and we will begin with Rylee, all she want is to be a cheerleader and be popular and maybe catch the eye of a hot football player like her mother, but her grades are slipping and her parents decides to assign a tutor for her .. Mason, the top student in her class .. at first they are at odds but soon enough they become friends, until Mason's twin brother Jason decides that he likes Rylee and asks him to be his wingman, who will Rylee choose in the end ? from the moment you open the book you will know exactly how will this "love triangle" end, but I liked the story nonetheless, there was zero drama, and everything was a complete fluff .. these books are getting better and better, can't wait for Zoey's book
This book was lovely, like all other books in the series before <3.
Emma Dalton's stories leave the reader with such a sweet, pleasant feeling after finishing the book. This one felt a bit like Cinderella's story with gender swap when Riley failed to recognize Mason in disguise and kept going back for Jason, the jerk.
Also, Paisley turning a new leaf was good to read. I wish she gets away from her mom's clutches in the upcoming books. It made my shipper heart happy to know that Noah and Evie are married! Yay!
So excited for Zoey's story next. (I wonder why Brock is away at grandparents)
I loved Rylee and Mason's story. What I really liked is Rylee saw what was not right, and instead of holding on to something she knew would never make her happy, she took the initiative and dealt with it. I love the chivalry in this story; it's not dead; it lives. It's just the sweetest, cutest love story. Now, I'm curious about Zoe's story.
Such great stories. I love how they've all interconnected and you get to see what has happened with the original characters. Definitely hope there's more to come.
These books always want to live through various family members dead or alive. It was a love triangle, which isn’t my favorite, but it did work out very well. It was interesting that the guy wasn’t super macho in this one. Probably the most clean of the series only kissing. there is some mention of death and of course, lots of bullying. Every book seems to have it.
