Tempted by the Wolf is a short and steamy, paranormal shifter, fated mates, second chance romance. Elena is a 22 year old beautiful human dancer and the sister of the Alpha, Raf. Jake is a 27 year old, hunky wolf shifter and best friend of Raf. Elena has always had a crush on Jake, but he pushed her away at her 16th birthday when she kissed him. She went to college and was an extraordinary ballerina before she was in a car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. When she returns home to Colorado, from Boston, to attend her best friend's wedding, Raf insists she have a chaperone since mostly wolf shifters will be attending. Raf asks Jake to escort her, and he happily agrees. He has always cared about Elena but pushed her away at 16 because he was 21 and the age gap at that time was too much. But he realized then that he loved her. As he attends wedding festivities with her, he realizes she's his fated mate. There is some drama with her ex at the wedding, but Jake protects her. The two finally give into their feelings and sparks fly. Their chemistry was off the charts hot 🔥. Will her brother be okay with their relationship? We end up with a great HEA and a sweet second-chance romance. This was my first Savannah Sterling book, but not the last. This was a great short and spicy read.

Part of the Gold Creek Wolves – each can be read as a standalone with sexy shifter the mate who captures his undivided attention. Elena is a sweetheart was human raised in the pack, she has loved her brothers best friend for years at her 16th birthday party she kissed he pushed her away as she was too young, but that love never went away as she got older eventually he flat out rejected her which caused her to move away making new life with the humans as they say. Her dream was to be a professional ballerina but one bad accident and everything changed causing issues with her balance thus leaving her working two jobs to support herself. So when her best friends decides to get married she heads home but her brother the alpha feels like needs a chaperone because she is human and the one he trust is of course his best friend but he doesn’t know about the rejection of that she is his mate. Now she is back and he was prepared to see her as the grown women she is or to be around her his wolf won’t allow him to keep her at arm’s length but after the rejection she treating him as coldly but who could blame her but can he get her to see that she is his mate he isn’t letter her go, will he accept her kiss this time without rejection, can they make it work, will her brother understand seeing she is his mate, and will they get their happiness?

Fabulous, fun and satisfying short and steamy second-chance love story!
I selected this book because I love steamy romances with wolf shifters. This is a second chance love story about a protective brother’s-best-friend and a ballerina dealing with head trauma issues from a car accident. The characters are well fleshed out, have great chemistry and the plot has the angst and spice I was craving. What made this book stand out to me is the realization of how satisfying a novella can be! There are just some times in life that I want a book in a more compact format start to finish without sacrificing all the necessary elements of a good plot and compelling character development. This book delivers! Tempted by the Wolf is part of the Gold Creek Wolves series, all of which are novellas. It can be read as a standalone without feeling like you are missing too much information from the previous books in the series.
Update: Since originally writing this review, I have now read all the books in Gold Creek Wolves series and honestly loved them all!

This was my second book by author Savannah Sterling, and while I did enjoy the secondchance romance between Jake and Elena, I do think the pacing could have been improved. I wish there had been more moments of intimacy and buildup between Jake and Elena before they just jumped into mate-hood. Derek also seemed a little unnecessary but he ultimately served as a catalyst for Jake to finally make a move. Jake was an easy-to-love if hotheaded hero, while Elena was a strong yet vulnerable heroine. Their romance was so steamy--once Jake pulls his head out of his ass--and I'm excited for more in this series🖤

This is the first time I've read a book by Savannah Sterling and I'm so glad I did this is her 6th book in her Gold Creek Wolf Series and I'm going to read all the other 5 A.S.A.P.
This Stories main characters are Elena Jake and they have so much history full of so many emotions.
Though the book you see both of them thinking back to different memories and how much they were affected by them.
This is such a well written book I felt like I could feel the pain and hurt as much as they did and I knew the exact feelings when Elena had a panic attack and how you feel your body shutting down.
I loved this book and seeing how past and present can come together and make your future. I love how it was written and how the steamy scenes meant more as they are mates. The part I loved the most is when you have the love and support of your mate/partner though can achieve so much more.

Having problems with an ex but things still worked out and Elena got to have+her dream come true. Good book!.

When Jake was 21 and Elena was 16, she tried to kiss him. Understandably, he rejected her because of her age. But then he set an arbitrary deadline, when she was 21 he'd be willing to date her. (Oh, lucky Elena!) But then there's some other instance where he beats up her ex boyfriend in a jealous rage, so he changes his mind and decides. in order to stop himself from getting jealous, they can NEVER date. They don't see each other again for 6 years. They end up going to Elena's friend's wedding, because Elena's brother wants Jake to chaperone her. Jake has changed his mind AGAIN and decided they should be together now. This just comes across as a juvenile romance where 2 kids break up and get back together a lot. But they're supposed to be adults.

I loved Tempted by the Wolf Gold Creek Wolves. Elena is home for her best friends wedding. She wasn’t expecting Jake to be her bodyguard, her love for him has never left. He rejected her when she was 16. He didn’t realize she was his mate. Now he knows he has to keep her ex away and claim her for his own. He also has to hope his best friend, her brother, doesn’t kill him. This story had lots of drama and sizzling steamy scenes. I loved the storyline and the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

Brother’s best friend and fated mate story. Little twist is that Elena is basically the only human in the entire story. Jake was the poor and abused kid growing up, spending as much time as he could with BFF Raf’s family where there was food and he wasn’t knocked around. I like that Carmen totally accepts Elena. Derek is a sleaze. Not sure why Rowan is best friends with him. I like Raf. I also like how Elena’s issues are dealt with and Jake just isn’t really phased by it.

Tempted by the Wolf was the first book that Ive read by this writer and I really enjoyed reading it. Elena and Jakes relationship was sweet and endearing. I really liked both characters and I wanted them to get their HEA ending.

Elena and Jake—she’s the only fully human part of her group; the rest are wolf shifters. Jake is her brother’s best friend and he has always protected her. When she’s home for a wedding, he goes as her plus one to keep her protected, and there they admit to each other their love for each other and he marks her as his fated mate. They deal with some other issues like her ex, but they find their HEA. Book needs more editing. Storyline could use some expansion.

Loved the spin on the alpha’s sister romance. Small age gap. This story has lots of different parts. There is a feeling of rejection previously and having a chance to try again. Fated mates and a-lot of pull towards each other and tension.

This book was average. Nothing too memorable good for a werewolf. The werewolf book on KU are usually kind of bad but this was good. Overall a 3/5
