Forensic Psychologist Dr Chrissy Ferguson has convinced herself she is happy. She is ready to leave her twisted past behind, to ignore the visions of violence and death that parade through her somnambulist mind every night. She is sure she can be this version of herself and with time, it will stick.
But Chrissy’s fragile happiness bubble is popped when the brutalised body of a local chef is found at Cargill’s Leap in the Perthshire Glens, bringing DCI Ross Fraser crashing back into her life. The case draws Chrissy in, forcing her to pay attention to the dreams she was determined to leave behind.
When a second body is found, Chrissy is convinced the deaths are linked to local artist Ezra Byers, who killed himself at Cargill’s Leap two years ago. Or did he?
When Chrissy and Ross try to discover what led to Ezra’s apparent suicide, no one is talking.
But someone knows what happened at Cargill’s Leap. And that someone is out for revenge. Who will be next?
