The problem with meeting a prince is that you might just fall in love with him. I’m finally on the dream vacation I’ve been planning for years with my best friend, and it’s amazing. Until I bump into a guy, and he spills his hot coffee all over me. And the jerk doesn’t even apologize! When fate brings us back together, I discover he isn’t just any ordinary jerk. He’s a prince jerk. Or is he? I mean when he isn’t throwing coffee at me, he can actually be pretty sweet. He offered to show us around his country, personally. That’s not an offer you say no to. My best friend is called back to work early, which leaves the prince all for me. Who’s lucky? This girl! I just need to remind myself that he uses his charms on every girl. I’m nothing special. I’ve seen him in newspapers for years. He’s a player. But the longer I spend with him, the harder it is to remember that it is just a vacation fling. It will never last. I just hope my heart gets the memo.
I Loved this romcom!! I think it is so fun when an author goes outside of their comfort zone, to write in a different genre. I was worried that it wouldn’t be as great as her regency books, but I should have known better and that Mindy could do anything she puts her mind to.
Tyrone- I thought he was a jerk at first, just like Mindy intended. But as time went on, you came to realize that he wasn’t such a bad boy player after all and a pretty great guy!
Grace- Loved her, loved her attitude and I thought she was hilarious. She had some moments of trying to figure out who she was, but I love a bit of soul searching.
If you like
☕️ A hilarious meet cute (or not so meet cute) 🏝️ Swoony moments on a beach 📸 Paparazzi photos gone wrong 👑 Awkward moments of meeting royalty
Then you will adore this book! I am excited to see sole more in this genre for Mindy!! I love her and her books!
*I received a copy of this book as an ARC reviewer, but a positive review wasn’t required. All thoughts are solely what I personally thought of this beautiful book.❤️❤️❤️ Thank You Mindy for the beautiful book!! You are amazing!
Vacation in a beautiful spot, a cute prince, more security than she can imagine, and a best friend who has to bail before the trip is over is all the makings of a cute rom-com.
Grace is on a dream vacation with her bestie since college, Texie. While Texie is getting her pastries, Grace is outside the bakery waiting when she gets hot coffee spilled on her by a jerk who only cares about his shoes.
When the jerk and his guards walk into a coffee shop across the street, Grace notices someone tampering with one of the cars associated with the jerk. Being the nice person she is, she goes and tells the group about it and gets invited to have dinner with none other than Tyrone, the crown prince.
What happens next is a whirlwind romance that in my opinion, moves too quickly, and uncertainty about the future.
Will Grace & Tyrone's feelings for each other to maintain a relationship continue with a sea between them? How do Tyrone's parents feel about their soon-to-be king pursuing a civilian? Should Grace tell them that she understands perfect Greek?
While I enjoyed this book, I think the relationship moved very fast, and until the end of the book, it felt very surface-level.
If you read this, message me so we can talk about it! I'd love to know your feelings about this couple!
I loved this book! It's set in the Mediterranean and Washington DC.
An accidental run-in leads to a novel that is entertaining and has some awkwardly hilarious moments. I loved the chemistry between the characters. Grace has a supportive best friend, and Prince Tyrone has his security detail.
This is a sweet story with a very fantastical, fairytalesque (yes, I’m sure that’s a made-up word) vibe. Intentionally so. It’s fun to escape into modern fairytales once in awhile. Definitely some Hallmark movie tones as well, and I loved how the book acknowledged and poked fun at that. While Grace is on holidays in the kingdom of Atraxia, she and Tyrone experience a meet-disaster that does not start them off on the right foot. However, when Grace intervenes in a dangerous situation, she suddenly finds herself on the radar of the Royal Family and spending a great deal of time with playboy Prince Tyrone. Feelings rapidly escalate, but they both have lives and obligations that don’t easily mesh, especially across the ocean. “‘It’s like we’ve lived a whole month in the last two days. I don’t feel like we just met less than a week ago.’” The story supplies some lovely swoony moments, both in kisses and just communicating from across the globe. The story is cute and fun with a lighthearted feel, even when there are challenges. This book is a great easy, breezy, beach read. And, BTW, I am totally with Grace on hating the smell of coffee (former coffee shop employee here) and thinking that “Babe” is “‘not a cute pet name’”. Can’t stand it, ha ha. The epilogue sets up a second book in this series nicely and I look forward to reading it. This is a sweet and clean story with no harsh language.
Mindy Strunk has written a classic girl meets Prince tale! There's a bit of intrigue, some misunderstanding, flirting and kissing all while trying to uncover a plot on the crown. This was a well-written story and I especially loved how Prince Ty goes the distance in securing Grace as his. Happy reading, friends!

This was a delightful story that was a little bit royal romance and a little bit enemies to friends to lovers. Grace and Tyrone misunderstand each other and then find themselves in a bit of a situation that forces them in each other's company. Grace falls in love with the country and the rest follows.
These two have excellent chemistry and have to take the time to get out of their own way. This is a fun beginning to the series and I would love to know more about her friend Texie.
This story is a fantastic and fanciful escape and I loved reading every minute.
I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
This book has major Hallmark vibes, from the disastrous first meeting, to saving his life, and finally to the happily ever after. It’s a very quick romance fix without a lot of depth, which was exactly what I was in the mood for. The romance happened unrealistically quickly, but Grace and Tyrone do spend most of the time they were together glued together each other’s side. After Grace left Atraxia, time speeds up, but no clear markers for exactly how long are given, because of this the plot gets a little lost as I was trying to figure out what exactly was happening. The epilogue did make me excited for a possible next book.
I will start by saying this was my first book by Mindy Burbidge Strunk. The story was cute, but overall, it was a really hard read for me. This book should have taken me a day and a half to read but took over a week to finish. I found myself lost in the internal dialog of the main character. I had to reread entire paragraphs throughout the book because I was so confused. Also, I felt like the book abruptly ended. Again, the story was cute, but I easily could have put it down and not picked it back up.
When a favorite historical author steps out and writes a contemporary Rom-Com, the results are amazing, especially when it involves modern day royalty.
This is very much a Hallmark vibe plot. There are lots of pop culture references along with some subtle mentions of historical customs. Both brought smiles to my face.
This is a first person, single point of view story. It is a light, easy sweet/clean romance.
I was gifted a complimentary digital copy and am happily leaving an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I was worried that I would hate Tyrone because of their meet cute but he quickly redeemed himself. I did however love Grace right from the start. She was down to earth and relatable. I loved getting to know her. The story was fun and the plot had plenty of humor. The book was easy to read and held my interest till the very end. The ending was satisfying and the whole book was clean and refreshing. I loved it.
Grace is a linguist in a job that doesn't utilize her gifting. She and best friend Texie are on their dream vacation. Because of a coffee incident and Grace's observation skills, she's thrust into a situation and then relationship she could never have imagined. Of course, the other half of this relationship is a prince, and the story takes off from there. There are laughs, sorrow, and the necessary happy ending. Another great story by this author.
I thought this was a fun, sweet romcom. I enjoyed the characters and the situations they got themselves in. I liked how their first impressions changed as they got to know each other. I also loved the setting and seeing these characters fall in love. I thought the story was enjoyable.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
I liked Tyrone, but Grace was harder to like. She was so awkward the whole time. I could have got past that, but my main hang-up was that Grace never felt comfortable being around Tyrone. I don’t think you can ever love someone that you don’t feel comfortable with. And they didn’t have enough in-person time for me to feel that changed by the end. I did like Tyrone and I liked the main plot.
The meet cute between the couple starts out a bit rough. The prince is very harsh. He makes up for it later and the two have a hallmark romance. I enjoyed the book. It is sweet and a warm fuzzy read. I did wish that the the reader was given what the queen and king thought of the two together.
I loved this royal romcom! I loved the enemies to lovers. Loved the country of Atraxia. Loved that Grace had some soul searching to do. NO 3rd act breakup. Such a fun and sweet romcom.
I really loved this first book in Mindy's new series. The characters are wonderful and the setting sounds so beautiful. Prince Tyrone and Grace have a very bad start when they meet. Then the suspense comes into play and they begin to see each other through new eyes. So much fun!
What a great story this one is! As with the other books by Mindy this one is very well written and keeps you attention from the beginning to the end! I loved it and am excited for more in this series. Great job!
This was a fun romcom from an author that I'm more familiar with from regency romance novels. The female friendship is interesting... kind of sarcastic and brutally honest. I thought the romance could use a little more development. I liked the setting. It takes place on a fictional Greek island.
I think I just wasn’t the right reader for this story. The typos bugged me; the myriad pop culture references seemed overdone; & the repeated “it might happen in movies or books but not in real life” overthinking felt less like cute poking-fun-at-itself humor & more cringey to me.
Cute. Could of been so much better if the author would of not made Ty flip a switch so fast. He was a jerk and then was instantly nice and Grace instantly forgave. I just like a little more build up.
This rom-com is packed full of clichés. To the point that it is comical. So if you are in the mood for some layed back entertainment, pick up this book for some light reading.
This was a quick, sweet, and clean read. It’s perfect for the end of summer, when you have to go back to life after summer vacation.
Mindy really has a way with words. This is a rom-com and I loved reading this! It was soooo cute!! I’m use to her regency novels, but now I’m sooooo into her romcom style! Full of sweet and Swoony moments. A beginner enemies to lovers but with insta love. Normally not a fan, but loved the way this books played out. Who else always wanted to be meet a prince and become a princess. It’s like the Prince and Me but no hidden identity. It was cheesy and had funny moments. Gave small town in other country vibes. I liked that first impressions aren’t always accurate. Grace was so beautifully written, I liked that even though she may not have liked him, she believed in what was right and did what she did for caring. Her best friend was soooooo cool!!
I was given a complimentary copy of this Book and all opinions are my own.
I love a good Mindy Burbidge Strunk romance. And while typically she writes stunning and witty, historical romances. This modern day romcom was filled with the same great humor, and we still get a glimpse of royalty. The unfortunate but cute meet set up the trope enemies to lovers. The plot was well thought through, and the story rolled along at a great pace. The characters were fun and you could feel a great connection. With a little bit of intrigue and suspense, the easy banter and sweet romance is what carried the story. Definitely looking forward to book 2 of the series.
