Greetings, friend! Rest here for a while and listen - I have a quest for you.
Have you ever wanted to learn a craft? Then why not consider artificery – the art of adding magical effects to everyday things? You’ll make never-ending beer mugs, clocks that tell not just the time but the future, and even bathtubs that keep the water a perfect temperature forever. Who wouldn’t want that?
Even better, you’ll get to live in the sunlit village of Sunhampton, a friendly little town of cobbled streets, cozy cafes, and a marketplace home to the most wondrous products you could imagine.
If this sounds like just the thing for you, then grab a mug of hot chocolate and a honey twist, and follow Lewis as he drives himself to becoming the best artificer in the land.
Lewis is no longer a mere apprentice. Through hard work, failures, and triumphs he has risen in the artificery ranks, but his journey is only just beginning. When a mysterious customer asks him to create an even more mysterious item, he knows his talents are going to be stretched thin.
It’ll be hard work. Probably even dangerous work. But with mentors to guide him, friends to help him, and his own never-say-die attitude to keep him going, he knows he’ll get there.
Why not get yourself over to the cozy town of Sunhampton and join him on his quest?

Hey! Tom Watts here. If you're reading this then you've either read one of my books or you’re thinking about doing it, and I want to say thanks either way.
I write low-stakes fantasy books that offer people a little of that important thing we call escapism, and I might have what you’re looking for.

So, those are a couple of my books. As for me, well, I live in a little village with my wife and three dogs. When I’m not writing then I’m reading, and when I’m not doing that I’ve usually got a small schnauzer trying to get my attention.

No job is to big for the 2 small-town Artificer's, of course master Cooper takes on the hard jobs like dismantling all the traps in the Mage Tower at the farside of town and while he busy with that, Lewis sets about taking care of the rest of it. Even though Lewis is quite busy with customer orders that doesn't stop him from being the first to help his friends or improve his skills and in this book he's decided to upgrade his alchemy skill tree! He actually has 3 bigger-ish orders where it turns that two of them actually require his alchemic abilities to complete 😳. And the other just requires just a book and his tinkering ability, actually two of 'em require tinkering as the jobs overlap. All the while keeping in mind all the advice he received from Guide Tutor James Trafford on leveling. So sit down and grab this book and by the end you'll be ready to celebrate and feast with your, new friends, your precious oldest friends to!
I found this so well-written and satisfying, that I decided to award five stars. I love the life described in this series, adore the intricacies of the primary professions (so extremely well-thought out!), the "magic" system, the geography, the economy, and the uniqueness and relatability of a growing cast of characters. Very well-done! The author is quite adept at capturing the nuances of personality and keeping them consistent while the character matures. Plot-wise, it was plenty for me, a stress-removing stream of well-strung words, and I was both surprised and pleased with the major reveal in the story. My only complaint is that I found four or so typos. I flagged them all on Kindle.
I think I've found my feel-good niche. I mean, obviously this series isn't for everyone. It's slow and gentle and low-conflict. But there are meaningful personal interactions, character growth, and a progression that is just really satisfying to me. And I just genuinely like them. This one in particular was especially good to me for its coming back around to an old hurt from Lewis's past and bringing him some closure on it.
Okay the story just gets better and better. It's not as smooth and easy ride for our main characters. I love to see them all growing in their personal and professional lives and I'm curious as to what's coming in future books I feel like there's something happening at a larger scale in these countries besides just what's going on in a few small towns
I've generally enjoyed this series. It is absolutely a cozy, low-stakes story that you can chill with and not feel anxious about. However, this installment was basically no-stakes. I'm glad that Louis is happy and making friends and growing in his trade and all. But I feel like the story could have used at least a little bit of suspense or drama.
Hard to imagine I'd enjoy reading about the daily life of an artificer learning his trade and making his way in the world; but I did and am looking forward to the next book.
Stop stop trying to appease everybodo what you write. You know how to at woke nonsense. The 2% of the world population cares about. And the other one they're adding there too since, just because people are watching them.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book is definitely worth checking out.
Engaging, clean, and well-planned, this series is like a favorite chair with comforting tea. Thank you so much for putting your talent into these enjoyable, gentle novels.
After reading the first two books, I kind of felt like I knew how everything was going to go, but this one surprised me. I really enjoyed this one maybe because I am reading it near Christmas time, but it was a great read.
Great continuation for the series. The development of the narrator, Lewis, feels very natural. This story also goes into Lewis's past and helps him reunite with his mother's acting troupe.
forgot about this book, finished it. still exactly what it says it is, low stakes and slice of life. probably wont read another, but I don't regret reading till here
