Baby with my Ex's Best Friend

Rate this book
I had a one-night stand with my ex’s billionaire best friend. I wasn’t supposed to get pregnant… It was annoying having to deliver my ex’s stuff to his best friend's place. He's a cocky billionaire doctor who thinks he’s god’s gift to women. We clash like fire and ice but his rugged good looks are impossible to ignore. Our usual banter led to an unexpected hot kiss and quickly moved to his bedroom. We agreed it was a one-time thing - he had broken all sorts of bro codes. Yet that night is harder to forget than the year with my ex. I never expected to see him again, let alone end up his lawyer. His desire to help an orphaned boy tugs at my heart strings but I'm more personally involved in this case than I should be. And there’s something I haven’t told him yet…something that could change everything. I’m pregnant with his baby.

This is the second book I have ready by Brooklyn Cox and I have loved them both. Between the two Baby with my Ex's Best Friend is my favorite. The plot for this story was original, it was intriguing, it was fun, it was exciting and it was a very entertaining read. I loved Adam, Reagan and Wolfgang.....actually, I adored them. The chemistry between Adam and Reagan burns like an inferno. It has been quietly simmering on the backburner building up heat with all the disagreeing and arguing while she was dating Brian.....foreplay leading to a powerful evening of passion. The book is filled with many wonderful supporting characters who helped make the story better. Brooklyn had my attention from the very beginning of the book and didn't let go until the last page. This is one of those books I just couldn't put down and found myself reading it in one sitting. I will definitely be reading more books by Brooklyn in the future.

Adam and Reagan never really got along while she was dating Brian - they tolerated one another for his sake. Now that her and Brian have separated Reagan is dropping off one last box for him at Adam's home. She plans on leaving it at his door without a word. But, Adam has other plans and engages her in conversation. Of course, it turns into bickering which quickly leads to the most passionate evening either of them have ever experienced. In the morning they realize this can never happen again because of Brian. Months pass without any contact between them. Then out of nowhere Reagan is looking at a file for a deceased couple who were her clients. The biggest surprise is when she sees none other than Adam listed as the guardian for their son Wolfgang. Now she must go inform him of the situation and make sure he knows that he needs to be present for the reading of their will. Reagan bonds with Wolfgang pretty quickly and helps the transition between him and Adam. Reagan becomes a part of their lives when she agrees to help him as he is clueless when it come to raising a child. Reagan and Wolfgang soon find themselves attached to one another she has an active role in his life. Which means her and Adam are together all of the time leading to some serious feelings growing between them. There appears to be a new future ahead for both of them that they never saw coming. Can they carve out a happily ever after for themselves with Wolfgang or are they doomed to the friend zone forever?

Reagan is packing up her ex's belongings and taking them over to his best friend, Adam's house since he is staying there for a while.  The two spar as they always do but this time, sparks are ignited!  They agree to keep the night to themselves and she leaves.   Several months later, Adam has a visitor.  Reagan is there in a professional capacity as a probate lawyer.  Adam has a huge inheritance from the only family that he ever cared for.  Veronica and her husband were killed in an accident and they left their most precious possession to him....their cherished son, 6 year old Wolfgang!  Reagan promises him she will always be there to help him, he just has to call.  He is terrified as he never had a positive experience in his own upbringing.  Young Wolfgang bonds with Reagan right away, and Adam quickly falls for his nephew and the two start to bond starting with belching the alphabet!  Reagan does keep her promise and spends time with them including school shopping.  Wolfgang is quite nervous but somehow she has him at ease with her ideas and stories.  Adam and he are bonding!  They meet up the next morning on his first day of school.  He is still nervous but another little boy comes to the classroom and takes him to see the class pet and Wolfgang has an instant buddy!  Adam and Reagan go to the car and have a bit of an argument about feelings.  They made some special plans for Wolfgang at the end of his day and he reminds her that she promised him she'd be there.   They have a really good time together!  Things get scary when a distant relative tries to sue for Wolfgang's custody.  She is more interested in what she thinks she will get paid as guardian for Wolfgang, and that is very quickly apparent.  She is after his money, and does not care about him!  His mom was estranged from the whole family and Adam can vouch for that and she really has no claim.  They do their due diligence to ensure there is no loophole in custody!  There is so much action headed their way including in their personal lives, a shocking surprise together with the legal team working to stop the attempts to take Wolfgang, you won't want to blink!!!  Loved this book!  Susan C.

Reagan Miles is a probate lawyer who speaks her mind, is opinionated, and has a tendency to argue with her ex boyfriend's best friend Adam. Sure, she and Brian have now broken up after he cheated on her, but it also leads her right into the arms of Adam.

Adam Rollins is not your typical 40 year old doctor. He's equally opinionated, tends to be obnoxious, and also lacks a bedside manner. Briefly! Thank goodness. The guy doesn't dress the part either. He's far from suave and tends to be goofy. Kind of like an Adam Sandler type.😆 But he made his intentions known as he shared a burning kiss with the newly single Reagan.

This has a ton of emotions and angst!! Spicy chemistry between our main couple.🔥💋🔥 Reagan is the one who pushes him away, holding on to insecurities from her past. Usually it's the MMC who does this so that's a different change of pace. And when Adam's nephew Wolfie, who's parents both died tragically in a car accident, it will break your heart as you read it. Adam is awkward and confused. How can he be a guardian to a six year old little boy now? He doesn't even eat healthy. He knows nothing about kids. Which I found a little bit strange. Surely he had to have known one person, a coworker or had a friend his age, or grandparent, especially from being a doctor for older patients, that spoke of raising a family at one point.🤷🏼‍♀️ But Reagan helps him. And Adam's prior insecurities and doubts instantly disappear as his Dad instincts kick in. They both navigate this journey together, falling in love with their budding family dynamic. But when another distant relative wants to take custody of Wolfie, will they win in the end? And what about their growing attachment and feelings? And a baby is in the way too! Is a HEA possible for everyone? No spoilers. I do recommend. Please read and enjoy.💕👨‍👩‍👦💕

Contemporary romance with steam and some spice, inside a heartwarming story.

Adam is a doctor. He comes from wealth but chose to walk away from the life of privilege and instead build a life of service. And yet all Reagan knows of Adam is that he's been her nemesis for as long as she's been in a relationship with his best friend, Brian. Brian's a lawyer, and Reagan is a lawyer. On paper they should have worked... not so much in real life though. Reagan is ready to never have to see either of them again, but when it turns out she's the legal representation for a young boy who is being placed with Adam that is no longer an option.

I was a good ways into this book before I realized that I knew who Reagan was. Because I'd read Amy and Julian's story [and loved it], this was a sweet revelation. We don't see Reagan's friends very much here, but Amy and Julian [Reagan's father] make a lovely sounding board for her when she hits her crisis point. And Reagan is surrounded by people who understand why she is struggling in her situation with Adam, including Adam himself. Baby With My Best Friend's Ex addresses how divorce and serial relationships can deeply affect kids, and offers insights into ways of supporting children. Brooklyn Cox writes beautiful and complex relationships, and with clarity. So many delightful characters here... Adam's patients, Reagan's co-workers and bosses, one CPS worker, Wolfgang and his mother. Every time I finish one of her books I wonder why I haven't read more of them.

Reagan and Adam . . .

Reagan is a lawyer who broke up with her boyfriend, Brian. He left some of his things behind, so she delivered them to his best friend, Adam, an arrogant billionaire doctor. They usually don’t get along very well, but one of their bantering sessions led to both of them acting on their hidden attraction for each other. They agreed it was only going to happen this once – but that’s all it took to get her pregnant.

When Adam needs legal help deciding the fate of 6-year-old Wolfgang, a boy who had lost his parents in an accident, Reagan in her lawyer capacity is there for him. She told him Wolfgang’s parents (his cousin Veronica and Henry) had made their intentions clear that if anything ever happened to them, they wanted Adam to raise their son. Adam will get full custody at the reading of the Will. Adam felt he couldn’t do this. He knew nothing about raising a child. But Wolfgang’s grandmother was a very cold person and even less suitable to care for him. Adam had the option of refusing and the boy would go into foster care. He had to consider now what his choice would be before they went to court. And there is still one more piece of information Adam needs to know -- about that one night he and Reagan spent together and another tough decision he will need to make.

This could’ve been a 3 maybe even a 4 star book but I had two main hang ups.

1) Regan held off for far too long, she literally waited until 84% to tell the poor man she’s preggo, considering how smart and well put together she is her inability to communicate, her refusal, stubbornness, and I hated the way she handled Adam finding out about the baby. I have a bff who’s a kick ass lawyer and I’ll be dammed if she tucked her tail and ran from ANY situation.

2) the case with Ms Baker, Adam and Wolf I felt, should’ve been the central focus and the third act conflict instead of Regan’s inability to fucking talk. If the case could’ve been solved so easily why spend so much time talking about it, wasting pages on it, when all you had to tell her was there was a bank person in charge of Wolf’s inheritance and she wouldn’t see a cent of it. I wanted more drama from the case, I wanted it solved in a satisfactory manner, maybe I’m a vengeful bitch, but retribution is needed lmao.

Otherwise, I really enjoyed being in Adam’s head, watching him learn how to be there for Wolf, and watching him grow and accept his feelings for Regan. I really enjoyed how Wolf was handled, it’s hard to bond with kids in books sometimes but he felt like a *real* kid who was simply working through the loss of his parents. Nothing about his character felt forced or off.

This story was fun to read and I really liked the characters. Reagan and Adam have never gotten along so when she drops her ex’s stuff off at Adam’s house, they find reasons to bicker, as always. Except she’s no longer his best friend’s girl so as their tempers heat up, so does the attraction and they have a fabulous night together. She doesn’t expect to ever see him again, but fate has different plans when she ends up being the lawyer for the orphan who was left in Adam’s care. The more time they spend together, the closer they get but there’s a grieving kid and her ex between them, not to mention their own baggage. I enjoyed seeing them navigate the obstacles and get their HEA.

Adam was the best friend of Reagan's ex-boyfriend Brian. He was a wealthy, grumpy and gorgeous Doctor. After her break-up from Brian, she had a forbidden night of passion with confirmed bachelor, Adam. Although they tried to fight it, feelings kept surfacing. Fate brings them back together when he is named guardian for his orphaned cousin, and she is the lawyer. It was sweet seeing how little Wolfie brought out the best in him and helped bring Reagan and Adam together. What happens when she sees the softer side of him? What happens when another relative steps forward and wants guardianship of Wolfie? Why is she so afraid of a relationship? Why is Adam now wanting a relationship? What happens with the custody case? What about the pregnancy test? Lots of trust issues to work out. This was a great book with lots of snappy banter between the two. A happy ending and no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

Adam and Reagan first met when she was dating his friend, Brian. They didn't really get along and just tolerated each other for the sake of Brian. After they break up, Reagan is dropping off the last of Brian's things at Adam's and he starts talking with her. Of course, they still have to bicker a little bit, but she ends up spending one hot night with Adam. They agree that they can never talk about it and it can never happen again. Months and Reagan is working on a file for her work and she sees Adam's name listed as the guardian for the child of a couple who have passed. The little boy's name is Wolfgang. She has to go to Adam and inform him of the death and that he needs to be present for the reading of the will. Wolfgang and Reagan really bond and she helps to ease the transition with him and Adam. There are also feelings growing between Reagan and Adam. Can they have a relationship in spite of the friendship that Adam has with her ex?

If you love steamy books, then you better get ready to take a cold shower after you read this HOT book. Reagan is a lawyer who has recently broken up with her boyfriend Brian. She takes some of his things over to his best friend Adam's place where he is staying at for a while and she ends up have some mind-blowing sex with Adam. Then things change and Adam has some earth-shattering news that will make your heart hurt, but Reagan is there to help him. I actually felt sorry for Reagan since she has some relationship trust issues. This book is so well written that you are cheering on Reagan and Adam hoping that things begin to work out for the two of them. This book also has a lot of surprises you don't see coming, and I thought the ending is really romantic and perfect.

This book was absolutely phenomenal and will definitely have you enthralled from the beginning until the end and maybe a tear or two. Reagan and her ex boyfriends best friend have a one night stand ,but when feelings are involved will she push him away? Adam has been in love with Reagan for a long time and now he needs her help when he becomes a Guardian to a little 6 year old boy when his cousin and husband pass away .this book was so different from the other stories that it keeps you engrossed in it and you definitely can connect with the characters emotions and pain and heartbreak and chemistry and romance big time. I just loved this book.

This book was stunning and such an emotional read. Absolutely loved the chemistry between Adam and Reagan.

Reagan is a lawyer who breaks up with her boyfriend. He is staying with his best friend, Adam, so she goes to drop off some of the things he left at her place. She and Adam start bickering, as usual, and one thing leads to another and they are burning up the sheets.

Adam is a doctor and after his cousins pass away in and accident, he is given custody of their child. When he needs help with this, he turns to Reagan.

There is so much emotion and depth with all these characters. The storyline was excellent and flowed at such a great pace, that I finished the book before I wanted to.

FYI: Before reading this story, you'll want to read "My Bestie's Dad" because it is about one of Reagan's BFFs and Reagan's father.
It was a cute story if a bit flat. There were too many very long, passages that were dull and dry and really could have been left out because they weren't really relevant to the story. There was also too much repetition about the FMC's absentee mother and her poor influence on the FMC's present life.
The story was only 18 chapters, but it felt more like 100 because of how dry and boring it was for most of the book.
The blurb was also misleading in that it stated the FMC got pregnant from the one-night-stand...which was totally false. That came much, much later in the story.

To say our hero and heroine have a complicated relationship would be something of an understatement. From enemies to lovers to an unexpected pregnancy, they are going to need a lot of talking to straighten this one out.

This is an enemies to lovers romance with a secret baby on top of that. The story is well written and easy to read with a simple setting which serves as a nice background. The characters are well done and it is a lot of fun watching the chemistry between them develop. They might start off fighting, but that changes pretty quickly. Along the way we get some nice steam and a rather nice HEA. Overall, a very entertaining story and I look forward to more from this author.

Highly recommended.

Entertaining Read

The first time Reagan Miles, a probate attorney met Dr. Adam Rollins, she was in a relationship with his friend Brian. The good doctor is nearing 40,something of a playboy and certainly no one that Reagan would consider for a relationship. When the two have a sizzling encounter, she is determined to stay away from him, but when a cousin surprises Adam with custody of her son, Adam begins a metamorphosis that shocks Reagan and starts knocking down her walls. It’s a rather predictable storyline but so sweet and endearing as Reagan and Adam interact with the adorable Wolfgang, and the three flirt with forever.

I loved this book. Reagan and her Ex’s best friend Adam have a history of not getting along. After giving in to their attraction for each other with a hot one night stand they are both surprised to find that they cannot forget about it. Reagan a lawyer has to help Adam with the care of his cousins son. As they spend more time together they cannot fight their connection. I loved their banter and the chemistry they have is hot. Loved how their relationship developed. It was totally believable. Sorry to see the book end. Highly recommend.

Brooklyn did it again..This book has it all. It ties her previous book in seamlessly. The characters are so well developed. It pulls at your emotions from start to finish. Wolfie the little boy brings so much wit to the story. "Out of the mouths of baby's" rings true. Adam & Rea finally get it. It is a wonderful book to read the weekend.

Reagan is a lawyer, who drops off her ex’s belongings to his billionaire best friend Adam, house, as that is where he will be staying for a while. Adam and Reagan end up having a hot 1-night stand.
This is a well written enemies / lover’s story, which is emotionally charged, with friendships, family, tension, trust issues, witty banter, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy page turner.

Adam cousin and her husband are killed in an auto accident. Their will stated their son Wolfgang was to be raised Adam. Reagan as the Townsends attorney advises Adam of the child and becoming his guardian as well as when the will reading.
Of the course of the book past issues in their life's come up they remain strong together. Even when Adam tells Brian his bestfriend about failing in love with Reagan his bestfriends ex girlfriend.

This was a great read.

I don't believe Adam and Reagan were ever actually "enemies", though. Adam fought with her to prevent himself from doing something about his desire for her. When she and his best friend break up, all bets are off!

This was a great read, with lots of steam, outstanding characters, and tons of feels. Loved it.

The right thing

Both competive and stubborn, Rea and Adam decided to put them aside to help his nephew settle in his new life. But a situation made them closer in order to protect his nephew .

Adam was too childish, which made it hard for me to picture him as a doctor for the elderly. He should've been a pediatrician.
