My Farm by the Palace (4 Stars)

gonna write a review for the whole series on the first first volume instead of splitting it up between the three volumes on here (idk if theres more that aren't on here or not, i read till chapter 64)
okay so i LOVED this. like how they didn't give us a super naive and kind to a fault heroine or a villainess revenge where the fl is lowkey taking it too far. the fl is kind and caring but draws boundaries. like when those girls ruined her salon party she made them work on the farm for a whole day to compensate her for the damages, other fl's would either forgive them for everything or make their life a living hell for it, so this was the most normal and understandable response imo. also love how she didn't become besties or absolve christina of any fault but reached out to her with an olive branch in the form of some breadand RECOGNIZED the cycle of abuse that was occuring in her household, and that you can break the cycle of abuse!! fl also used to work at a bank so i like that she had life expereince and wasn't naive or stupid, and also like how her gramps wasn't a villain like the first few chapters led me to believe and that he really cares for her.
as for the other characters i like them a lot! like how this isn't focused on romance but when they start to focus on romance i hope they develop her relationship with the king/emperor more bcs right now i feel barely any chemistry between them. LOVE LOVE LOVE lousie (wanted fl to end up with louise but we all know that won't happen) and i like how all the king's aides came around to the fl eventually, as well as literally everyone else in the palace and in general.
overall there's some parts of the writing i thought were stupid (like the whole ban on talking to the fl part or the fact that the emperpor was so hellbent on thinking she was slighting him without idk CHECKING IT OUT HIMSELF and it took him a stupid amount of chapters to realize otherwise) but other parts of the manhwa make up for it. i think i was more forgiving bcs none of the characters in this are irredeemable but have the the wrong perception of the fl and are willing to accept her once they realize. even the emperor who i probably care about the least isn't horrible and seems like a chill dude, just a stupid one who is now trying to help the fl from a distance since he realized he wass wrong. idk it was a very homey manhwa so i gave it a 5/5 for enjoyment
