A smokin' hot dad falls for the innocent nanny...and he's a mafia boss.
Nic DeLuca was used to taking what he wanted. Born to lead a powerful mafia family, he was not in the habit of asking for permission—or forgiveness. Willing to cross any boundary when it came to possessing what he considered to be his, Nic knew Anna Martin was meant for him from the moment he laid eyes on her.
Nic was quick to move the innocent nanny into his home... and his bed. But he hid his dark side from her. The deception was necessary to ensure Anna fell for him before she realized exactly who he was.
The Mafia Boss's Nanny was previously released as Deception, Danger, and Devotion.

This was a cute, relatively short read about a single dad and his daughter's live-in nanny. Fiona Davenport's books are full of jealous, possessive heroes and sweet, innocent heroines. This one was no different! I liked it, but it definitely dragged in places.
Very fast paced book. Anna barely even made it through the front door for the interview before Nic was claiming her. I wish there was more of a push and pull between the two because ain’t no way she should be telling him I love you 1 week in, like girl stand up!! This shouldn’t have been label as nanny/ mob boss book because she didn’t even get to be a nanny to the little girl! Other than that this was an ok book and a quick read, would I recommend this book.. NO! Will I read the next book on how Sophia grew.. maybe, but if it’s anything like this book I won’t read it.
DNF 24% That was horrible. I mean, I like instalove stories, but this one was by far the worst. They met and fell in love instantly? That's just not believable.
Deep in my novella era ✨ This storyline wasn’t anything I haven’t read before, yet I still ate Nic + Gianna’s story up! There was definitely some originality thrown in & I was never bored. It was sugar & spiiiiiiice and everything nice. I am easy to please right now bc it seems all you gotta do is give me an OTT possessive, alpha, cave-man dude & a girl who ‘tries’ (or not) to resist, throw in a HEA and I’m sold. 😂
Nic (Head of a Mafia + Single daddy) ♥️ I liked his dirty mouth, but I didn’t like he screwed my girl compliant most times. Dang homeboy, can y’all TALK some of this stuff out?! Geez
Gianna (Nanny) 💖 My girl didn’t stand a chance w/ Nic. I loved how she loved Sophia and effortlessly became the mommy she needed & woman that Nic needed and was happy do it since it was all she’s ever wanted.
Anywhooo... ⚠️ + Info: - Dual POV - Virgin h, H: celibate & previously only been with one woman when he was a teenager resulting in his daughter - No: OW/OMD, push + pull, cheating, sharing, separation or 3rd act break up - Murder - Kidnapping - Side characters: H’s daughter Sophia was cute & her hospital scare had me on the edge of my seat, loved H’s mom & she actually made me giggle, H’s bestie Brandon (who has his own book that I need to read), h’s parents were super cute too + the rest were background people. - HEA: Happily married, h is legally Sophia’s mommy + pregnant. 💖

Anna is working as a nanny and is in need to find a new position. She gets an interview with Nic DeLuca a hot young single dad to six year old Sophia. He sees Anna for the first time and is instantly obsessed. He finally found his queen and a mother for his little girl. But Anna doesn't know that Nic is a mafia boss and that they are in danger. Instalove, OTT, sweet, steamy, romantic , heartwarming, insta family and safe with an awesome HEA and no drama (Sophias mother is non existent in their lives) 😍😍😍😍
While the story was undeniably fast-paced, it was far too unrealistic for my taste. Yes, I get that it's fiction — but some things still need a degree of believability, and this book just pushed it too far.
Let’s talk about the romance (if we can even call it that). The characters saw each other once, and by the very next meeting, they were already holding hands. Then, came a kiss. And by the third meetup? Full-on makeout session. It all felt way too rushed and shallow. Love at first sight can work in fiction — but not when it's built on zero emotional development and entirely on physical attraction.
Anna, the female lead, frustrated me endlessly. She gave into Nic’s every urge with no resistance, no backbone, no feistiness — nothing. Just a spineless character who never stood up for herself. There was no growth, no depth, and sadly, nothing to root for.
And Nic? Don’t even get me started. If I had a dollar for every time he said, “I wanna see her belly swollen with my baby,” I could probably buy a better book. It wasn’t romantic — it felt obsessive and repetitive. His obsession with getting her pregnant felt more like a twisted means of control, especially considering her family’s traditional views. It gave the impression that knocking her up was his way of locking her down. Love? Maybe. But manipulation? Absolutely.
As for the plot — well, it barely existed. The smut overwhelmed the storyline to the point where there was nothing else left to hold onto. No twists, no conflict, no emotional arc worth remembering. Just an overdone cycle of lust and cringe-worthy dialogue.
The only saving grace in this book was little Sophia — sweet, innocent, and utterly adorable. She was the only character that made me feel anything positive.
I can't believe this short book took me two whole weeks to finish — simply because I was dragging myself through it. If not for my stubborn trait of not DNFing books, I would’ve dropped it halfway without a second thought.
Final verdict? I’m never picking this book up again.

There's nothing wrong with this, and I can totally see how others are enjoying it—it just isn't for me. Unfortunately, it has one of the microtropes I distinctly despise with every fiber of my being: the 'guy messes up and uses sex to apologize' trope.
In this case, Anna just found out that Nic had been lying to her about what he does (the fact that he's in the mafia). She, naturally, wants to talk to him about this, but instead, he says, "We'll talk after you come on my hand, in my mouth, and on my cock." Anna then expresses that she's angry with him, to which he replies, "Then take your anger out on my body, Gianna, and let me show you exactly how sorry I am."
I know that most people reading that would love it—I mean, it is a popular microtrope, after all—but I just hate it so much. It's manipulative of him, and it shows that Anna has absolutely no backbone whatsoever. She even acknowledges this herself at one point. She doesn't use those exact words, but she admits that she lets Nic get away with everything and just follows his lead. How about she actually grows a backbone? And how about he apologizes for lying to her instead? How about he promises never, ever to do it again? How about he talks to her and actually listens to her instead of making EVERYTHING about sex? How about he asks her what he can do to make things right? How about he asks her what he can do to earn her forgiveness?
But no, of course not. He gives her a couple of orgasms (which adds literally nothing new to the dynamic; he does this all day, every day anyway), and suddenly, everything is fine again.
And if I ever hear or read about someone referring to a beard as whiskers, it will be too soon.
1.5*. Totally unrealistic and absolutely no plot. Pointless being so long.
I complained about the Mc series being ridiculously short, but this book didn’t need to be 225 pages long. Nothing happens, yet nothing is explained. What happened to Njco’s dad? What happened to Gianna’s mother? As her mom is her stepmom. Where are all Nick’s men if he’s head of the mafia? He has to hire security in as he hasn’t got enough men. 😂😂😂 It’s ridiculous. The whole book is way too rushed. I want to see the romance, and their love grow. I didn’t believe in their so called love. It was lust and that’s it. They don’t talk, or have dates, or really get to know each other. One minute they’re strangers, the next they’re supposed to be in love and getting married. Weird. I don’t like how young Gianna seemed. She had no experience at all with men and Nico steamrollers over any objections she might have. I didn’t like that. Then there’s Nick’s age. At only 24 he seemed too young and too childish at times to run the mafia.
Nico hires Gianna to be his daughters nanny, as HIS MOTHER HAS BROKEN HER ARM AND CAN’T DO IT. This is important later on. As soon as Nico sees the shy virginal Gianna (🙄) he thinks mine. Within two days he’s moved her into his house, and he’s having endless, mind numbingly boring s*x with her. Within a week they’re in love and engaged. While they’re off having the endless s*x, guess who is looking after Nick’s daughter; YES HIS MOTHER! His mother who couldn’t do it before!!! 😡😡😡
It’s silly and way too fast, and not very well written. There’s no plot, at all. Nope.
HEA Standalone, interconnected characters Mafia Boss/Nanny, a little bit of dark *over 18 readers only*
Mafia Ties series
Trigger warning Dubious consent Renal Artery Disease in child Parental Abandonment Medical Emergency with child Gun violence Kidnapping Violence on mfc Murder Drug OD
Niccolo DeLuca/Nic (mmc, Italian Mafia) Gianna/Anna Martin (19, mfc) Sofia (6, daughter of mmc) Carly (informant in Irish mob) Brandon (#2 in Italian Mafia)
Anna is having trouble finding placement as a nanny. She is asked to look after a 6 yr old with fragile health. Only minutes into her interview with Nic, he tells her she is hired and that the position is now a live-in position. He has already decided she would be his, regardless of what she thinks. By their second meeting, he's already kissing her. She doesn't have a clue he is Mafia. She's young, naive, innocent, and in way over her head with him. War is brewing with the Irish, and she's about to find out just who Nic really is. And when she gets kidnapped, she knows exactly who is coming for her. She just needs to survive long enough for him to find her.
I'm glad Brandon and Carly are the next book. I'm also glad the mother was a non-issue. I wouldn't call this book DARK, more of a dark gray. Would be a decent intro into reading darker books. Dance with me, Baby is about the doctor in this book, but either can be standalones.

I really enjoyed this one. It is a quick read and it is easy to connect with these characters.
While it's consistent with this author duo's quick insta-love style, this has a bit more drama and danger interwoven in the storyline.
I absolutely loved Nic's interaction with Ice (of the Iron Rogues MC series) and had to find out the backstory of Nic and Gianna, and I am glad I did!! You do not have to read this story before Ice, but there's a small spoiler in there that ties into this story - so just be okay with that.
The pages turned themselves in this steamy, addictive read, and I recommend reading this, and more from this talented author duo. On to book 2!!
Anna and Nic just didn’t work for me. Sophia was adorable
I think the whole story was a bit off. Very insta love like literally day 1 they meet for 2 seconds then day 2 she’s slammed against a wall being kissed before meeting his daughter…
There really wasn’t much going on conflict wise or action wise. Anna was kidnapped for like 0.5 seconds and then everything was back to normal again
Also he is obsessed with getting her pregnant and talking about how her belly will grow and then the epilogue doesn’t have anything an her being pregnant or the kid being born because it was so focused on leading to the next book. That’s one of the things I hate about interconnected stand alones.
Quickie review: I got halfway through this one before I realized I was reading a series I had already read before. Here I thought the authors had created a new mafia romance for me to adore. But alas, it was just an old series repackaged and renamed. Am I sore about this? Absolutely not. In fact, I got to experience, if even for a minute, that feeling of reading a book for the first time all over again. We have all wondered what that would feel like. And I did. And it was fabulous. If you have already read Deception, Danger, and Devotion, I highly recommend rereading this one. And if not, give it a go!! Insta love greatness! 5 Stars!
Honestly, I see so many 5 🌟 reviews, so I was hoping this would be a great read, but it's just not for me.
The story is extremely fast-paced, 0-100 real quick, I just can't get into it. It's honestly quite silly, imo. Nic meets Anna and immediately claims her as "his" he sucks her face off the 2nd time they meet & it just keeps going. She has no issue with this(as far as I got) because he's hot 😭 DND as of rn
I was hoping it would be sort of a slow burn since it involves her taking care of his kid, since she got hired to be her nanny, but boiiiiiiii was I wrong 😂😂😂
Maybe I'll pick it back up some other time.

I am being generous rating this book a 3 star. It is really more like a 2.5. The nanny title was a joke, more like dad's live in insta girl friend. The relationship with the daughter Sophia was lacking. For a kid to call you mommy after two weeks you better show me not tell me about relationship building. (Being in the hospital when she is sick doesn't really count.) Nic and Anna really did not stand out as strong characters and the spice felt like intentional overkill to fill in the plot gaps. I will not continue the series and honestly may come back to change this to a 2 star rating later.)

This book was more Wattpad-y than any actual Wattpad books I’ve ever read; I’m pretty convinced that’s where this came from. Honestly that’s probably why I was entertained enough to finish it, but it wasn’t good enough for me to like it. I love a good fast paced romance, but this was so fast that I blinked and dang near missed it. The chemistry wasn’t there with how quick everything happened, the writing was cringy as hell, and collective delusion of every character was brow raising. Also, they called the mmc’s beard “whiskers”… I’ll leave that there.
Rating- ⭐️⭐️/5 Spice level- 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5 Angst level- 0/5 Recommend?- No Trigger Warnings⚠️?- No
Need an instalove hit, with mafia trope, Nanny romance, dual pov writing for depth of characters, no cheating, morally grey alpha male, virgin female lead, single dad, steamy scenes and HEAs? Fiona Davenport has you covered. The mafia boss's nanny is a series starter, but is a complete standalone following Nic and Anna. Hired to look after his daughter Anna and Nic cannot deny the instant connection between them, and Sophia is a brilliantly written little girl that you instantly fall for yourself. 4/5 stars.
This is a fast-paced book that’s probably why they kissed literally the 2nd time he ever saw her.
I don’t know if this was left out because it’s a short book but she was hired as THE NANNY but she didn’t actually do what she was supposed to do. She was with Nic right away.
Also their communication skills were pretty low. I mean I like it when fictional men are bossy and OTT but she couldn’t even react to something important. He just distracted her with s*x.
Perfect little read! Short, spicy, sweet, minor tension/ angst, all in the perfect amounts for this mafia read! Read it so fast and loved ever chapter of this story. Sparks fly for innocent Anna when she meets not so innocent mafia daddy Nic. Sophia and Mama Allegra add to the perfect supporting characters. And when Sophia called Anna mommy for the first time.... all the feels. Would definitely recommend.
I love Fiona Davenport mafia stories. If your looking for a lighter mafia romance packed full of all that instalove goodness and a cute sassy little girl that helps her dad get what he needs then this I the book for you. I have read this story more than once and would still read it again because these characters are hard to let go.
This was a bore and not what I thought it be. No action but just a tiny bit but all it was a possessive alpha male taking in a nanny to just decide on the interview she was the one to be a wife and she just goes as a virgin and spreads her legs on day 3 yeah no I Don't think so and all the book was sex and getting her pregnant not worth it.
Gianna is looking for a position as a nanny but can't seem to find a good family to work for. She is sent to Niccolo DeLuca's home to interview for a position as his daughter's nanny but the instant Nic lays eyes on Giants he wants her as his wife forever. Nic will get what he wants!!
Loved the book itself but didn’t care with how fast paced it was but honestly I couldn’t stop reading it. I like how he knew from the day he met her that he wanted her as his wife and mother to his children. I also loved how he has the “touch her and die” type vibe to him in this book. honestly wouldn’t mind reading more from this author. :)
The book isn't just a fun and lighthearted read; it's also incredibly addictive. The story pulled me in, making it hard to put down as Davenport's world came to life. If you enjoy romance with a mix of warmth and passion, this book is a must-read. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a quick, enjoyable story. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series!
Loved the book from beginning to end. There was nothing about this book that left unwanted unnecessary gaps, or boring long drawn out information on house looked what color furniture, etc., etc. it was all out entertainment. You will never reading this one. Romance, instant love and attraction, endearing!!!
Talk about an instant connection! From their very first meeting, sparks fly and intentions are set. Nic is bossy and arrogant - and Gianna’s. Add sweet little Sophia to the mix and it’s a perfect family. Nic isn’t a good man, but he’s the best and only man for Gianna. And it’s so good!
A very good book. I loved reading about Nic and Anna. Being the nanny to mafia boss is scary in itself. Once Anna meets Sophia. That all changes. Until Nic decides to keep her for himself. when danger threatens his family and Anna. He can be ruthless. Full of dark secrets and love. What will win in the end?
This was my first book by Fiona. I enjoyed it and it kept me entertained. Gianna and Niccolo provide us with that insta-love that we all know and love. Single dad. V!rg!n fmc. He calls her bellissima and Mia dolce which is adorable. & his daughter calls Gianna mommy!!!! Ugh. It was so dang cute. There is a happily ever after!
