Jessica Leigh is a folkloric romance author. Her stories draw from the eerie side of legends and lore—tales of love, loss, and the kind of magic that never really dies. She loves exploring where myth meets emotion, and how ancient tales can still speak to us today.
When she’s not writing, you can find her perusing the bookstore with her husband, soaking in a Colorado sunset, or commuting to her 9-5, dreaming up new stories on the train.
A Destiny Spun in Silver picks up after the ending of A Daughter Forged in Fire's pretty painful cliffhanger. I was so worried about all the things after that ending, but we get to see how the characters handle the fallout, grow, and become stronger. I love Rhia, Rowan, Aine, and Bagda.
There is a moment near the end that was so satisfying that I had to message Jessica a "HELL YA" immediately. I really enjoyed how all the moving parts came together by the end, and we could get an idea of where the story was headed without a massive cliffhanger. I'm excited to see what happens next!
Thanks to Jessica for an eARC of this book for an honest review.
I was already impressed with Jessica, when I read her first book A Daughter Forged in Fire, & then she graced me with Book 2 as an ARC reader. I STRUGGLED with putting this book down. As you can tell from above, I finished it in two days. It picks up right at the end of book 1, which I love when the 2nd book in a series does this. It has action, love, wickedness and spice. 🥵 Can’t wait for Book 3! Time to set another countdown for my next adventure. If you have your doubts, remove them & TBR this series, because it’s worth it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to Jessica Leigh for this ARC of A Destiny Spun In Silver!
I could not put this book down!
Aine and Dagda completely stole the show for this book. I think Aine may have replaced Rhiannon as my favourite character. Her arc through this book was so beautiful, and I was so invested in her journey to heal herself and learn to trust again. Seeing Dagda also slowly break down his own walls, and go from wariness to 'I'll burn the world for her' was perfection.
The beautifully crafted world of Éire has given me another fantasy world to long to live in, and the Celtic mythology vibes in this book were, once again, impeccable. I really enjoyed the way that all the threads were tied together in this book and I felt like all the characters were given great depth.
I am now on tenterhooks waiting for Book 3 to come out in November!
A Destiny Spun in Silver is released on the 31st of May 2024, and if you are a fantasy reader I really recommend this beautiful series.
A Destiny Spun in Silver picks right back up from the book one cliffhanger and it was full speed ahead, this is definitely a fast paced story! I like that we get introduced to more about this world, between the mortals and the different type of Tuatha and their powers and the underwater realm - it has potential for a lot more complexity. Something I’d love to see explored further in the next book!
I loved that this story followed Aine primarily as she comes into her power and girl is definitely a BADA**, you wouldn’t want to get caught crossing her. Meanwhile we still get POVs from Rhiannon as her powers are also evolving and she is learning of her full potential. Then we finally get them all together again and with all the changes during their time apart this is something I would like to have read more about as well. I felt some of those elements were skimmed over and resolved a bit too quickly - it could just be that I am a sucker for detail ha!
This installment also definitely turned up the spice from book one! I definitely think Aine and Dagda stole the show in this one, but was glad to finally have Rhiannon and Rowan reunited. I’m excited to see where everything goes in book three, will surely be packed with even more action with how the story ends.
If you’re looking for a shorter simple world building fantasy with some spice - this could be the series for you!

First of all, I just want to say I L O V E the blend of Celtic/Scottish mythology and fantasy romance. It hits me all in my feels as a history nerd,
Second of all, when an author can back up the use of history with a well-developed story arc and writing, I'm absolutely hooked.
I love how this book focuses on the development of Aine and how she comes into her own. Aine is literally a BEAST. She has the ability to turn the tides either way and it's so interesting to see how she accepts her challenges. It is also great to see how Rhiannon works through how to be a leader, and very quickly. She makes sacrifices but also has to follow her heart for all of her people. Even then, sometimes, that isn't enough. Both of these women refuse to be pawns in a man's game. They will stand and rise together.
All this to say Book 3 is going to be a KNOCK OUT! There will be war and deceit. Everything hangs in the balance for the Tuatha.
This book...I was looking forward to this one! It was good and is definitely setting up for some intense things for book 3. You get a little taste of the four characters, but I wanted to get into more nitty gritty stuff of their stories. The writing is so well done, stick with it because this story is building up! Be prepared because the ending was 🤯 I had a theory and nope! Lol I hope to see more of each character, especially the women, really come into their powers and show these guys what power looks like! Here are some quotes that stuck with me:
"She knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that a love like theirs, if left to it's own devices, could have burned the whole world to the ground."
"You know as well as I do that destiny doesn't always ask us what we want..."
"I know you have much vengeance inside of you still...and that I will never deny you. Burn it all down if you wish and I will stand beside you, watching it fall to ashes."
A Destiny Spun in Silver is the second book in the Chronicles of the Tuatha series, and what a great second book it is! Jessica Leigh’s writing is so fluid and her storytelling so vivid, you just breeze through these books.
The blending of Celtic and Scottish mythology and the world building that accompanies it is engaging. The fantasy elements add another layer of interest. The story mainly focuses on Aine and Dagda, and the journey they are on to help Rhia gain her throne. While this book didn’t have a lot of action, you know it’s coming in book three.
I cannot say enough of Jessica Leigh’s writing. If you love Celtic and Scottish mythology, amazing storytelling, slow burn romances and fantasy, you have to read this series. So good!
Bring on book three!
I received an advance reader copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. There was nothing “wrong” with the book, I personally just had a hard time reading it and felt like I couldn’t get into the story.
*Arc Review* I love that we got to see more of Aine and Dagda and how all 4 MCs are growing and learning more about themselves! Rhia and Aine coming more into their powers is awesome!! I can't wait to see where book 3 goes with all this build up!! 🥳🤩
Thank you to the author for the ARC copy! “A Destiny Spun in Silver” is available now.
I love to see a sequel with the same energy as its predecessor, and this one hit all the high points.
Aine is free, Rhia knows her destiny, and all the players are in position. The Milesian forces have been temporarily pushed back, but only so long as both Rhia and Hedrek uphold their ends of the bargain. Everything is at a tipping point, and something dark is looming on the horizon.
One of my favorite things about book 1 in the “Chronicles of the Tuatha” series, “A Daughter Forged in Fire,” was how easy it was to get into the story. It was entertaining and held my attention without a lot of effort on my end. Much to my delight, book 2 did the same thing. I read probably 75% of it in one go, and I was reluctant to put it down. Despite the heavy nature of some of the content, it’s a book that doesn’t feel draining to read and that didn’t require a lot of backing up to reestablish what was going on when I wanted to jump back in. I think this may be partially because of one of my only critiques about the story—I wanted a little more depth. It’s a great plot and a really interesting storyline, and there are a ton of really great characters, but I would have liked a little more meat to the story. The characters, particularly Aine, did get more ‘expositional screen time,’ if you will; we got to see more of what made them tick and who they are, which was a great progression from their introductions in book 1. It’s just the actual story would have been even better, though maybe not as smoothly flowing, if we could have seen more of the ‘in between’ type scenes. Occasionally I still had a difficult time tracking how much time had passed between one scene and the next; those transitional bits just weren’t there, and I would gladly have spent more time in this world to see them.
The only other issue I had with the book as a whole came down to some of the structure. Maybe I was still a little sensitive from the ‘milky skin’ issue in book 1, but it felt like a lot of the descriptions became repetitious. Now, this was an ARC, so there’s always the possibility that some of this changes between my copy and the final version, but I can only review what I read.
One of the most interesting structural/stylistic things I saw in the book is a slight change in how the chapters are laid out. Book 1 gave us 3rd person POV with clearly delineated switches in focus. That is, each change (usually at the chapter starts) was clearly labeled with which character we’d be focusing on. This book doesn’t do that, instead switching focuses very organically within the chapters, sometimes just for a paragraph or two. I actually loved this setup; it was a marvelous way to get all the information without being in any one character’s mind (as in 1st person) and without being limited to just one focus at a time (as in the first book). I thought it was really well executed, and I really loved how it flowed. I can’t think of another book I’ve read (especially not recently) that’s set their story up like this, and I think it’s something more authors should try. If you don’t like reading 3rd person you probably won’t enjoy it as much, but I thought it was fantastic.
The best part, by far, of this whole book was the world building and the magic. It feels like such a vibrant and beautiful world, full of all sorts of things and places that suck you right in. The magic, as in book 1, was beautiful, and we got to see a little more of it here. The magical bits were easily my favorite to read, and I’m hoping we get to see even more in book 3.
All in all, this was a fun addition to the series, and I’m glad to have had a chance to read it. As I’ve mentioned, “A Destiny Spun in Silver” is book 2, and this is definitely a series you’ll need to read in order to fully enjoy. If you like easy fantasy reads with some heavy, dark content, Celtic and Scottish lore that’s been reimagined into a whole new story, and the type of female rage and power that can and will cause the very earth to tremble, then this is the series for you. Book 2 is out now!

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️
This is a high fantasy novel that is the second in the series. You Must read A Daughter Forged in Fire first before you dive into this book. A Destiny Spun in Silver is a book that is building up to the next in the series. You meet new characters and continue the journey with the ones that you’ve come to know in ‘Daughter.’ There are legendary mythological creatures, unaliving, war, politics, and a slow burn between different pairs of characters.
This is multi-pov story where you discover each character doing what they have to do to prepare for the inevitable war the Milesians are waging against the Tuatha. As we voyage with them, we gain insight into their thoughts, feeling, and purpose for the greater good. When each comes together at the height of the story, there are some shocking revelations and twists.
You will find yourself immersed in a fantastical world partway through the story that sounds like an actual fairy tale. The vivid description of said world will make you feel like you are there. New characters are introduced here that I’m certain will play a greater role in the next book; one of which I guarantee will have a more sinister role! (I really want to read more about Scáthach, she seems like such a bada$$!)
There are several moments throughout that were shocking. I’m sure you will find yourself smiling and gasping as so many of us did while reading ‘Destiny!’ My bestie and I both ARC’d this book and we couldn’t stop talking about it. I know that Jessica Leigh is setting us up for what should be an epic third book in this series. With all of the moving parts to this story, there’s no way that it won’t be memorable! I can’t thank her enough for letting me be part of her team!
🐦⬛ “The Nichnevin comes to unite . . . But the Morrigan,” he said, his eyes becoming serious, “the Morrigan comes for blood.” 🐦⬛ “…destiny does not always wait until we are ready.” 🐦⬛ “She belongs to no one…” 🐦⬛ “F***ing beautiful,” he whispered low. “I want to know what you taste like when you come apart for me.” 🐦⬛ “Tell me,” he growled. “Did you plünge your f!ngers d33p into yourself and imagine it was me.”
A Destiny Spun in Silver, the powerful continuation of The Chronicles of the Tuatha series, takes readers deeper into the myth-steeped world of Éire with a story as lyrical as it is emotionally resonant. Where the first installment introduced us to the battle between mortal men and the magical Tuatha, this sequel elevates the stakes—blending legacy, sacrifice, and the haunting pull of destiny into an unforgettable journey.
At the heart of this installment is Aine, a character both fragile and fierce, who finds herself haunted by ancient forces and struggling under the weight of both past trauma and future responsibility. As dark primordial magic resurfaces through her, Aine’s journey becomes one of deep emotional reckoning. Her fierce love for her chosen family—and her willingness to sacrifice everything for them—makes her one of the most compelling characters in the series so far.
The ensemble cast returns with familiar faces: Rhiannon, the fiery daughter of magic; Rowan, the steadfast blacksmith-turned-protector; and Dagda, whose role expands with new layers of complexity. Together, they traverse dangerous lands, uncover secrets long buried, and face enemies that threaten not just their lives, but the very soul of their people.
What makes A Destiny Spun in Silver so gripping is its poetic prose and mythic undercurrent—reminding us that oaths have power, and destiny often exacts a steep price. The themes of found family, healing, and the cost of truth are beautifully interwoven with the fast-paced plot and immersive world-building.
Perfect for fans of Celtic-inspired fantasy, strong female leads, and emotionally rich storytelling, this novel proves that The Chronicles of the Tuatha is more than just a fantasy series—it’s a saga of spirit, sacrifice, and the magic of resilience.
A Destiny Spun in Silver by Jessica Leigh is book two in the Chronicles of the Tuatha series and is definitively a book you’ll want to add to your bookshelf. This absolutely magical adventure is packed full of action, Celtic magic, romance, and a plot that keeps you hooked from the first page.
The author did an amazing job bringing the characters and their stories to life, the writing is beautiful and flows smoothly throughout the book not missing a beat and fully immersing you into the story.
I really loved the characters Aine and Dagda’s dynamic in this book - it really added an extra dash of magic and folklore to the plot and loved every chapter that included them. Rhia and Rowan of course are still amazing characters and I loved the continuation of their story.
A Destiny Spun in Silver along with the first book in the Chronicles of the Tuatha series - A Daughter Forged in Fire is a must read for all romantasy lovers who are fans of Celtic mythology, druids, magic, and a plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

A Destiny Spun in Silver definitely was worth the wait!! Thank you Jessica for letting me read this ARC!! I loved it!! I definitely thought I was in love with Rhia and Rowan originally, but my new favorite couple is Aine and Dagda. But also who doesn’t love Strong BA women who can take care of themselves and don’t need a man to protect them! I do have to admit I was struggling at first with all the different POVS in the first couple of chapters, but as it slowed down, and we got to see more building between the relationship and the characters, the different POVs slowed down and I got really into the book and couldn’t put it down! So thank you again Jessica for letting me read this book, and I can’t wait for Book 3 to come out and to see more of our favorite Team of lovers ❤️
I was so hyped up for this story and it did not disappoint! A stunning follow up to Daughter, A Destiny Spun in Silver follows Aine, a standout supporting character from book one, and picks up from Daughter's tantalising ending.
This book drives the overarching story swiftly onwards - I was gripped by Aine's character development and seeing how it relates to the mythic Celtic world the author draws inspiration from. All the characters we know and love received ample 'screen time', further cementing their friendships and relationships, and the introduction of more mythological figures brings huge anticipation for the final book.
Leigh's storytelling is consistently excellent, I highly recommend this series!
In order to free her people Rhia was forced to swear an oath with Hedrek, resulting in her being seperated from her beloved Rowan. In return the Milesian promise to stop attacking the Tuatha. However 6 months later a Milesian solider kills a Tuatha Sea Nymph and breaks the oath.
Brenainn the rightful Milesian heir is still alive and living amongst the Tuatha, under their protection. I am curious to see if he ends up taking the crown and liberating the Tuatha.
A Destiny Spun in Silver focuses a bit more on Aine's story and her purpose. We get to learn more about her and Dadga's destiny and how their fates are intertwined.
I can't wait for book three to come out later this year.
I loved this. Still good as the first book. No spice. This is the 2nd book in the series and we can see more of the characters journey. This feels like there are 4 Main characters 😅 but they didn’t overshadow each one. They were given enough spotlight. After reading this, I can say that I am really really into Aine’s character like she and Dagda are my favorite 🫢 I loved what happened in the end. Well-deserved 😏
But of course, the journey isn’t over because when we thought this is the end, another character will be introduced. Which will continue in the next book!
The first book was good and definitely the start to a wonderful story....but still, I didn't expect THIS for book 2. This book captured my attention and refused to let go in a way I haven't experienced in a while. I devoured this book in two sittings because once I hit 15% I knew I wasn't getting up until I finished.
Never a huge fan of books with dual storylines, this one seamlessly weaves two storylines together in a way that always made me 100% invested in whichever one we were following at the moment. They converge together in a way you don't see coming and it happens so naturally.
I highly recommend this book. It is necessary to read book 1 (A Daughter Forged in Fire) first.
While I did enjoy reading this book I feel like the storyline was very rushed. There was so much room that could have been explored more. I also felt as if the timelines between the various characters jumped too quickly.
However, many moments were definite powerful events for a total Woman Empowerment and I love the author for this. 🙌🏼
I only took so long to read because I didn’t want as big of a gap between this book and the 3rd.
I’m very excited to see how Rhiannon, Rowan, Aine, and Dagda fare against the growing Milesan army with a new character unlocked.
A Destiny Spun in Silver is the second book in the Chronicles of the Tuatha and I thought after reading the first book A Daughter Forged in Fire, I love Rhia and Rowan, but Aine and Dagda stole my heart in this story. There is so much that gets uncovered within this book especial with it being written in multi POV. The characters are preparing for so much more to come, and this book definitely takes us through their journey. I found myself wanting to be a part of this world and could not put this book down. After reading both books 1 and 2 I can't wait for book 3 to come out. This is definitely a series worth reading. The books must be read in order, but they are worth it especially if you enjoy Celtic, Scottish mythology and a great fantasy romance.
Thank you, Jessica Leigh for the ARC. I am so happy you shared this story with me and am so excited to read book 3.
Picking up right where ADFIF left off, we are plunged back into the adventure of Rhia and her company. The majority of action takes place around Aine, providing a truly thoughtful insight into female divinity.
The Nichdair ship is still sailing and only gets deeper, providing some truly heart wrenching moments. I really didn’t think anything could be better than ADFIF (or even ACOTAR for that point) but here we are!
Once more, if your a fan of fantasy, mythology retellings, or just straight up good books with compelling characters… bestie how have you not read this?!?
I was an early adopter of the first book after the first few pages, but this one.. just wow! I would have never guessed I would be into a book so embedded in the Celtic mythology/fantasy romance genre. The character development throughout the series has been intense and just keeps building on itself. The author’s ability to capture the readers interest and hold it is truly extraordinary. Overall a very easy read and a great quick summer book (as you CAN’T put it down). Here’s to hoping there are more to come in this series!
I was a bit disappointed in the relationship development in the first book between the FMC and the MMC. This second book was a definite improvement for the secondary main characters (if that’s what you call them lol)! Maybe not enough that I would increase the rating to a 4, but definitely enough to where I’m planning to read the third book. The story is definitely more of an original plot than most of what’s out there. The spice is also pretty good. Just enough without compromising the plot. Overall, not my absolute favorite, but definitely worth the read and I’d recommend it.
A great sequel to a great first novel. The author truly found her voice in her second book. What I love most about these books is that so much happens quickly but not too quickly. So many fantasy books drag out situations for way longer than needed. This author presents a situation and a solution shortly thereafter while also having the underlying story still there in the background. Absolutely, love Rhia, Rowan, Aine, and Dagda. Aine is quite a force to be reckoned with and I'm loving her arc.
This second book got me hooked real fast. It starts right after book one, and from the first chapter, I was back in it with everyone. The energy between them all was everything. The Celtic vibes are still strong, the magic system still rich, and the writing even better than book one. It’s more balanced now, deeper character work, less repetition. I liked how the different plotlines slowly wove together, and by the end, things actually felt satisfying. I wanted more. But this feels like a calm before the storm situation, and I’m 100% ready for book 3.
I loved book one and so couldn’t wait to dive into book two and it did not disappoint! We pick up from where we left off and hit the ground running in this well paced, well written addition! The author continues to weave their spell and blend Celtic and Scottish mythology seamlessly and the world building continues to captivate and enthral. Our characters rise to the many challenges they must face and make difficult decisions and sacrifices as they continue to grow and learn more. A fantastic addition, now to read book three!
I did not want to put this down, but had to with being on vacation. But I devoured the rest of the book while on my flight home. I was kicking and screaming (internally, because you know being on a plane and all) towards the end. I couldn’t tell what was going to happen next through the entire book keeping me on my toes. I need to know what happens next and I’m sad I’ll have to wait for book 3 but you better believe I will be reading it as soon as it comes out.
Picking up a few months from where book one left off with a stressful cliff hanger, A Destiny Spun in Silver further the plot to find peace in their world. A beautiful blend of Celtic mythology and fantasy, this book focuses more on Aine and Dagda.
I was really looking forward to this book, but this story didn't grip me as much as A Daughter Forged in Fire. The stakes weren't as high.
