Od pierwszej chwili, gdy ją ujrzałem. Jedenaście lat temu w sklepie ogrodniczym. Uwalniała biedronki z ich siatkowych więzień. Miała sześć lat, stała ledwie półtora metra ode mnie i dziurawiła małe sieci.
Zignorowałam to uczucie.

Can you imagine losing the love of your life, only to have them come back in another body and fight for their love against all odds? This star-crossed lovers' story, with its amazing cover and intriguingly promising plot, provides enough excitement to get invested in Hart Augusto and Ruby Armenia's journey. The book is easy to read with its short chapters, fast pacing, big mystery, and surprising twists that approach sensitive topics like grief, death, and therapy.
The story gives off vibes similar to You've Reached Sam, but with a different outcome. Although I didn't cry my eyes out, the mystery surrounding Hart's battle to reach Ruby in bad boy Jameson's body, as his memories slowly fade away, increases the pressure. Readers will be rooting for the soulmates to find their way back to each other. The book also includes spiritual elements, with an angel's touch.
For Hart, Ruby is his forever. Even though he's dead, his soul is still doing everything in its power to reach his soulmate. But can he win the war against divine intervention? Are they meant to be together forever?
The characterizations are excellent, and the plot is interesting enough to warrant a movie adaptation. Keep your napkins close and dive into this book blindly! You won't regret it!
Many thanks to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP/ Penguin Young Readers Group/ Razorbill for sharing a digital reviewer copy of this amazing book in exchange for my honest thoughts.
Do our spirits 𝓯𝓸𝓻𝓰𝓮𝓽? Does love have the power to be 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓵𝓪𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰?
Emotional, romantic, and heartfelt. Cue the ugly cry. I went through countless tissues reading Always Isn’t Forever. My heart ached for Jameson and Hart. This is one that stays with you.
I ended up purchasing the audiobook to accompany my ARC read, and I loved it! The narrators were fantastic and brought the story to life. I highly recommend.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Razorbill, and PENGUIN GROUP for the gifted ARC.

I am grateful to have my beautiful little sis Cara to sob with! Love you to pieces, BBB! 🫶
This is similar to what You Reached Sam was trying to do, except this was done really well. I loved both Hart and Ruby so much it felt like MY heart was going to burst. They were both such incredible individuals and their relationship was so cute. I did cry for a significant portion of this book, the grief was written really well, I felt like I was going through it myself. I did appreciate the direction the plot took and that it was more than Ruby just tried to move on. It made for a very intriguing storyline. I can't recommend this book enough.

I received an e-arc of this title from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I CHASED after the ARC of this book. It sounded utterly romantic and very interesting. All the reviews were saying how sad it was, and how it was so good.
I must ask - did we read the same book? How in the world was this book sad? How in the world was this good?
We were off to a great start, up until the ML died. Then it completely went off the rails.
- I get that the main character was going to inhabit the body of the rude guy... but honestly, the author built up the rude guy so horribly and one dimensional that there was no real enemies to lovers on the FL side. She is supposed to fall in love with the guy who was her enemy but we literally see a page of interaction with the two of them and we're supposed to accept that she dislikes him? - As soon as the ML is given the choice to jump into the bad-boy's body, I started getting 'alert' bells. What about the bad-boy? Who was he? Where was his character development? Does he deserve character development? Why does the ML get a body of someone who basically can come back from the dead? The angel never really said that the guy was toast. Yet, if the ML jumps into the body he gets an entirely clean slate? Why? I don't understand? - Which brings me to the FL - the love that the ML had for her was so lack-luster and full of 'tell'. We can never infer their love or obsession, it is literally shoved down our throats. At least the ML was trying to get her to - but with great difficulty - realize is him.
When she finally figures out who he is, their romance is still very lack luster and lack of real umpf. On top of that, the original soul of the guy never returns. It's like he just wanted to give up. Which made me wonder if the guy was depressed or something?
The whole thing was just really badly written and it just didn't sit right to me that at he very end of all this, he was rewarded the body and the life of his former enemy, the girl is going to be screwing said pretty boy (her boyfriend was a POC and the body he got placed in was a white boy with blonde hair), and their lives are all hunky-dory.
I felt nothing was gained or sacrificed. There have been other 'dead boyfriend returns from the dead' books, but I side eye this one.

Soooo I totally didn’t stay up to late reading this book…. Hehehhehe-relatives, if you say to me that sleep is important and that I should sleep instead of read, then I’m not taking the 10 seconds to sign your birthday card this year
so the weird thing is that I am literally the main characters child or something. Idk but I literally look like the main character and I literally have a personality like Harts, and harts interests. IM LITERALLY THERE CHILD
loved Lourdes, even though I could never pronounce her name right and I made up something new every time I said it
Okay why does almost EVERY SINGLE BOOK have a character with a least SOME significance named JAMESON?!!?!?? IVE SEEN THIS NAME IN SO MANY BOOK!!!!!!!!!!
THE END THOUGH- 😭🥲 I wanna crawl in a hole rn 🕳️
The beginning is the part that almost made me physically cry but I was internally crying the whole book
Okay who is on the cover with Ruby, Harts body or Jamesons body?? Idk but it is a beautiful cover 😍 good job Karmen Loh! 👏
There is swearing so if u don’t like that there’s a warning
There is also a mention of spicy stuff but there is not much of a description
And if your super religious, there is it mentions and has tarot readings in it and it mentions reincarnation, but there is heaven and an angel so…
THANK YOU J. C. CERVANTES FOR THIS BOOK!!!! YOU MADE ME AND PROBABLY A LOT OF OTHERS VERY HAPPY WITH THIS BOOK!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

************************************ How can I describe this book according to the synopsis: Ride Your Wave meets You've Reached Sam Meaning I should get the tissue boxes ready.
hart and ruby were destined to be together, but then hart tragically dies in a boating accident. he’s given another chance, though, through inhabiting the body of a classmate of his who was on the verge of dying. with cosmic forces preventing him from telling anyone the truth, and taking his memories along the way, will hart—who now appears as the bad boy jameson—be able to win ruby back?
it’s been so long since a book made me cry, so i was oddly pleased when i started crying just 14% into this. i’m having trouble putting my thoughts into words, but this book was just such an emotional story about two teens cruelly taken from each other. i loved how much it was shown that hart and ruby’s souls were intrinsically linked and that they would always fight to find their ways back to each other. i also loved the role friendship and familial bonds played in this book!
i would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a tearjerking read.
If you're okay with reading a YA novel that reads a little bit more MG, you'll have a better appreciation of this than I did. I liked it for what it was, but I definitely wish that there was a lot more depth and maturity to both the story and the characters.
🌊 THE STORY
The story wasn't unique, but the vibe felt very sweet and youthful (again, this boils down to the narrative feeling more MG than YA). There was a cinematic feel to everything, despite not having any visuals to look at, which is pretty great.
We get a few snippets of the past here and there, but I wish there was an even deeper view into Hart and Ruby's relationship. There was also a bit more telling than showing when it came to this. I just wanted their backstory to be more fleshed out.
🌊 THE CHARACTERS
Ruby was fine. I think she was the one who mainly felt younger than she was -- but grief does that to people, so I wasn't really bothered by it. I didn't dislike her by any means, but I was also pretty unattached to her.
Hart? YES. He's so, so sweet and charming. I loved how he interacted with all the characters, even the secondary ones. He was just so good and pure. Absolutely refreshing.
🌊 CONCLUSION
If you're looking for a sweet, mindless read... You can definitely give this one a try. Go into it with an open mind, and I'd recommend that you go into it with no expectations. If you're into second chances and/or destined loves, this is definitely for you.
absolutely masterpiece like my brain is still processing what i just read i don’t even feel as if i even read this book i feel like i just finished watching an entire series rather than read it
honestly i didn’t know how i was gonna feel about this book from the blurb the cover say one thing but when you read then blurb then see the cover it’s another i really wasn’t expecting it but the blurb sounded so good and the cover look great so i gave it a try (best idea)
im not a fan of sad books personally and this book broken me but in the best way like i went through all kinds of emotion reading this book and you really get to love the characters like hart onfg don’t even get me started on him literally loved him from the very start but reading about him and the way he feels for ruby the the things he would do for her <3
and ruby you cannot not like ruby like maybe not love but you cannot hate her i love her i don’t know how she does it but i would have gone crazy you can really tell you treasure the relationship she had with hart and omfg their relationship and she just great like i feel like we don’t get too too much on her but the plot however she honestly is so strong especially when it came to memories and old things from hart
plot man i pretty much knew the plot going into this book but like all kind of scenarios were going through my mind while reading this like i was coming up with all kinds of ways for him to tell her and getting mad when he couldn’t just tell her up straight honestly i very and i mean very suprise on who found out first i will admit it was a bit confuse with the whole heave angles law and etc but eventually kind of i understood and like i don’t even think there was a single time where i got bored or tried of reading this long book
and the side characters too like ella onfg and don’t even get me started on lourdes she’s a literally angle and gabi and serena <3
this plot still blows my mind like you don’t even understand the love i have for hart/jameson and ruby
I’d like to thank the author for providing me with a free e- copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I genuinely don’t know how to feel about this book. It took me so long to finish. The first 60% was incredibly slow and it honesty felt like a chore to read. Then I reached near the end of the second section where things started to get more interesting.
Character wise, I’m conflicted. I feel that romance wise I would have liked it to be different since loss is all about keeping the memories and moving on so the fact that Ruby like Jameson but kept trying to see Hart in him was something which I didn’t specifically like. I had zero problems with Hart/ Jameson. He didn’t strike me or anything but I felt that he was a very decent male lead.
I believe that this book is 100 pages longer than it needs to be but that’s just my opinion. The idea was good the outcome was… questionable.
This book is mainly advertising for lovers of You’ve Reached Sam. As someone who has read that book and cried to it uncontrollably, it would be unfair to compare the two as each book is its own. What I will comment about is how this book was simply advertised wrong. If one says that this book is even slightly similar to You’ve Reached Sam than the reader is going to expect the same or a similar atmosphere and the atmosphere between the two books were simply worlds apart.
I must say that the cover is truly glamorous. The message behind the cover is something that I pieced together at the end. The artwork is really nice and I feel that the premise of the book and the idea was good, it was just stretched out for too long.
This book surprised me by being quite emotional, and it was undoubtedly an emotional ride. If I had to compare the book to You've Reached Sam, I would say it was far better done. I adored how the multiple points of view allowed us to hear each perspective of the tale. the manner in which it addressed loss and tragedy.
With its brief chapters, quick pacing, significant mystery, and unexpected turns, the entire book is simple to read. Although I thought some of the supernatural aspects weren't properly stated, I thought the characters were fantastic. However, this novel was still quite charming and had me from page one.
I cannot stress how highly I suggest this book! In the same breath, this book was both upsetting and inspirational!
Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for providing this arc in exchange for my honest review!
whoever saying this was better than you’ve reached sam has to be lying. it was not. bear in mind that even though i am unavoidably biased because, well, my personal experience with YRS was good, objectively YRS was still a three stars book. and always isn’t forever? well, lower.
being advertised with “the perfect read for you’ve reached sam” AIF will undoubtedly draw YRS readers who are intrigued and want to experience the similar atmosphere all over again. so consider this as a review from reader who was craving for that but was unfortunately got let down.
first off, the narrative appears to be straightforward but debut-like and direct. there’s no craft. no creative writing. just concise stories akin to those found in middle-grade literature. everything escalated so quickly that we are unable to relate to the characters, empathize with them, or even become outraged. it was similar to watching a movie with the speed automatically set to 2x.
the plot is so unserious, could have been more nuanced and layered but you have to had Hart's spirit seeking to rekindle things with his gf while inhabiting a fratboy's fresh-from-the-coma body, which is obviously odd and scary from Ruby's point of view. the whole ridiculous set up might actually be more meaningful if there were more platonic/familial relationships that were explored more deeply. the most moving sequence isn’t even about Ruby and Hart/Jameson, instead it is about Hart and George.
i would like to see more of the plot revolve around Hart and his family and how they deal with their grief, and i want to see two of the main characters genuinely mature as people because they remained unchanged up to the conclusion of the story, except maybe Ruby being more willing to let Hart go. it was painful how much potential was wasted. i especially did not like how the angel interfered with the MC’s life so many times, giving instructions, explaining how the afterlife corporation works (lol) and even making deal with the MC. at least YRS used ambiguity narrative while interacting with divine being, as in the character wasn't really sure how or why things even worked or why he couldn't traverse the in-between dimension. that creates a more eerie vibe but i can see how it could be challenging to work into the AIF storyline considering how important the angel will be to the plot. i didn’t like how the climax was handled. the ending makes no sense because for me, it essentially takes away the entire purpose for which the angel transferred Hart's soul to Jameson's body in such a brief period of time to stay. what about the tragic end? what about the fact that everything that happened has been designed as a gift for them both to have a good closure at last? but, no! we’ll give them a happy sweety unrealistic but lovely ending!
so, yeah. the whole grief theme was moving at certain places, yet it was weak and emotionless elsewhere. gorgeous cover tho. 1.5 stars.

“It’s always been Ruby, it’s been her from the start.”
This book hits you right into the feels during the first 10% !!! I was at work trying not to cry while reading. You get plenty of warning that something is about to happen right from the beginning.
Hart is very subdue, over cautious and reserved while Ruby is the risk taker and wanting to experience life to the fullest. They’re a perfect match. Then something catastrophic happens and sends Ruby into a dark hole. She lost Hart and doesn’t know if she can get over that loss?
First loves Opposites attracts High school Second chance at life Grief
It doesn’t take much for me to actually love YA and middle grade books. This book just do not work for me. It’s tedious and somehow felt like I was reading a story continuing from some other story. I need more convincing with the plot and the characters. Disappointed somehow. Really like the premise. The writing isn’t for me I guess.
this book is like a different font of You’ve Reached Sam. this one is much better. i know that i would cry and sob my eyes out over this book. but at the same time this book taught me a lot of things such as happiness, hope, grieving and emotions.
hart and ruby. they both are soulmates. they’re incredible characters and i love them so much. they were destined to be together but they’re tragedy happened and hart is given another chance to live inside the body of a classmate who was in coma and also a bad boy in their school. so the conclusion of this story is can hart (who lives inside the body of bad boy , Jameson) can win ruby back?????
i was hooked from the start till the end. the plot is so engaging and heart-wrenching. it’s not predictable actually and i love that. it’s just written in a way that can totally sucks you in and forgot the world. i understand what ruby has been feeling and it hurts to lose someone we love. thank god we got a dual POVs, so we can see from each characters povs how and what they’ve been through. the other characters in here also loveable. i just love it so much.
there’s a fantasy element in here such as the mentions of angels and heaven something like that. which is for me very interesting. i recommend this book to everyone who loves you’ve reached sam and pls just read it. i gave this book solid 4 stars. if you read this, you will probably know why i gave it 4 stars….

Fans of YA romance books with star crossed friends to lovers who are torn apart tragically and find each other through magical/supernatural means are going to devour this one!!
Recommended for anyone who enjoyed Message in a bottle by Nicholas Sparks and books like You've reached Sam by Dustin Thao, Full flight by Ashley Schumacher or The fault in our stars by John Green (although this one is tad less sad than those).
Now I can't wait to read the author's debut, Flirting with fate, that somehow got lost in my tbr pile. Many thanks to NetGalley and the @prhaudio for early digital and audio copies in exchange for my honest review!
