In the tight-knit town of Asteria Heights, volleyball isn’t just a sport – it's a way of life.
Amelia Thomson, as captain, grapples with the weight of leading arguably the school's worst team in decades. And with the coach being her own father, the town's blame for every loss feels personal.
But that well-worn volleyball she grip at every practice? It's more than leather and air. It's the embodiment of her dreams and the ticket out of a town that feels increasingly stifling. *** Ivy Scott was born a prodigy. Her path seemed to be the Olympics and stardom awaited. Until one fateful night shattered her dreams.
Starting over in a tiny Indiana town, Ivy has one to blend into the shadows during her senior year. But flying under the radar becomes next to impossible in a town consumed by volleyball.
Especially when she finds herself drawn to the coach’s daughter. Because Amelia Thomson is determined to break down every barrier Ivy has meticulously erected, brick by brick.
This was ok, very predictable, very cliched and not much character development other than the two main leads, and not very much at that. Tired of the sport ones where the team is hopeless then gets a new star who has been away from the game for two years (this is high school team) and they go on to win the championship after nearly having the coach canned. 3 stars
Under the Same Net brings local teen Amelia together with out-of-towner Ivy in a high school sports themed romance. This is a basic girl-gets-girl story. There are a few cute moments, though Amelia’s early stalker behavior seems extreme. This is a brief, pleasant, read with a happy ending.
The story is okay, I just couldn't let go of the stalkerish behaviour that the protagonist has at the begining. I didn't particullarly like the way the book was written either. I was debating between 2 stars and 3, but 2 seemed too low and just because is a wlw book automatically wins points in my rating so I went for 3 stars.
Novela juvenil sobre el amor entre adolescentes. Es bonita y de lectura rápida. Cero descripciones de escenas de sexo, tampoco las necesita, la verdad, la historia ya te atrapa bastante. Una historia para sonreír mientras la lees :)
It is a young readers' book and it is well written for that age. However, my only dislike is that there is a lot of repetition and that first date they talk about kind of gets lost and forgotten. Otherwise, a decent quick read.
Siempre es un acierto un libro sáfico con voleibol de por medio. Una lectura tranquila para un día. Me gustaría solamente que se desarrollará más. Creo que el ritmo es muy rápido.
