Hook ‘em Hard is the last book in the Bang Brothers Hockey series, it tells Tanner, the youngest of the family, and Maeve’s story.

Maeve is Tanner’s team physiotherapist, she helped him with his shoulder during training camp, there were sparks and attraction at first sight and touch, but it was too complicated at time.
Now a year later, after a nice chat, a good pizza, a bit of liquid courage, and the threat of an intervention from a mother hen who wants to see her son happy, they think it’s finally the right time to eplore their feelings.

I liked to follow Maeve journey towards the freedom from her deepest fears.
Tanner is the right person for her. He would do anything to protect Maeve, but he knows she needs to fight her battles for herself, and he only has to support her by lending her some strength. They share a deep connection and trust, not to mention their hot physical attraction.
It was funny to see Tanner act like a whiny kid for when he complains about how everyone still treat him like a baby.

The author did a good job with the storyline, she added some suspense and mystery that kept me engaged for its entirety.

It’s sad to say goodbye to the Bang family, but I assure you I’ll revisit these books again and again.

Tanner and Maeve😍

Tanner is the final Bang sibling on his mother’s radar but he knows he is a lost cause as there is only one woman who gets his heart racing and she’s off-limits😢 Maeve is the physiotherapist for the team when they travel but after what happened to her, she likes to be in the background and out of the spotlight🙁

When her bestie Kate comes to visit and accidentally sends the wrong “Tanner” a message to hook up, it soon becomes the best decision she ever made🥰 I loved Tanner and his gentlemanly ways with Maeve and I especially loved that ending. This is my first book by Cathryn Fox, but it definitely won’t be the last. The story flowed really well and I picked up the clues the author put in place which made me feel how Maeve felt which to me is an indication of what a good author she is❣️

A fantastic ending to the Bang Brothers, but also sad to see this series finish. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️‍🩹

Bang brothers series (and a sister) finishes off in a bang (see what I did there 🤣).

Maeve and Tanner were the perfect conclusion to this series where we have not one but two matchmaking mothers involved, even if it was behind the scenes. Our MCs did not stand a chance.

Tanner and Maeve come together due to a wrongly sent text. They agreed it will be just a one night thing, but staying apart proves to be harder than they anticipated. And when Maeve's fears about her past come roaring back, she chooses Tanner's shoulder to lean on.

But staying just friends seems impossible and soon they're entering a whole new territory where possibilities for HEA are there for the taking. All they have to do is believe and trust that the other person will hold their heart safe.

I'm sorry to see this family go. I've read all the books and to be honest, I can't choose a favorite couple but I'll finish this review by saying mama Bang knows best and is the best.

5 Star Review Hook ’em Hard (Bang Brothers Hockey #6) by Cathryn Fox

The Bang Brothers is written by multiple authors about the Bang Brothers and their sister and I could not wait to dive Hook ’em Hard by new to me author Cathryn Fox.

This is Tanner Bang and Maeve Carter’s story and what a fabulous story it was. Cathryn Fox did a wonderful job with this entertaining story.

I love this family, particularly the interfering Mama Stella Bang, such a wonderful character.

The chemistry that sizzled between Tanner and Maeve was intense. However, for me it was their friendship that added an additional layer and makes this book so special.

It was entertaining to watch the push and pull dynamic as their relationship progressed.

I loved this book, it’s a little gem and ticked all the boxes for me and I am sad to see this wonderful series end.

Book 6 of the Bang Brothers series, written by Cathryn Fox and part of her Boston Bucks series.

Includes:
🏒 Rookie of the Bang family and the Boston Bucks
🩻 Team physiotherapist and daughter of the oldest player
🏒 Pining for the woman he knows he can't have
🩻 Recovering from a traumatic relationship experience
🏒 Fake dating to avoid a meddlesome Mama
🩻 Fake dating to stop being a burden on her parents

When a booty call text gets sent to the wrong person, it might just be the right person all along. And despite knowing a relationship is a bad idea, Tanner can't stay away any longer and Maeve feels safe enough for the feelings she's also been having. Only then shadows of the past start reappearing , making it hard for Maeve to move forward. And they both know the risks of their relationship. Pretending to be fake dating to satisfy Mama Bang gives them a great cover for her parents and his team as to why they're inseparable. And while they both know the feelings are real, neither will admit how deep those feelings run.

This book put me through the ringer. There were things I expected to blow up that were handled like mature adults and then other situations that shook me to my core. I laughed so hard when Maeve's mom pulled a Mama Bang 👀😂 and the spice was perfectly spicy 🥵 I also really identified with Maeve wanting to be independent and self sufficient but also just wanted to feel safe and secure with Tanner around. He was just so amazing!!!! Supportive and protective and oh so sweet! Cathryn made him a combination of all my favourite things 💖

Hook 'em Hard was the perfect way to end this series!

Keeping hearts safe!

Tanner fell for Maeve's smile the instant he met her. Being a team mate of her father's meant that he loved her from the sidelines. When events in her life scare her, Tanner steps up to protect her and keep her safe. Maeve feels safe with Tanner in a way she hasn't for a few years and whilst she offers to be his plus one at a wedding, the chemistry they share is off the charts. Can they both admit their feelings before something happens to tear them apart? Will they be able to discover each other and the truth they keep hidden?
I loved this last book in the Bang Brother series. Tanner is a sweet man who has fallen for someone he thinks he can't have. Maeve is healing from a trauma that has left her scared and confused but together they are whole.

If you like a little suspense with your romance, as well as a hot loving hockey playing hero, then this is the book for you. And if you are not into hockey players, you will be by the end, as Cathryn Fox has a special way of bringing you on a wonderful journey with her characters and will definitely Hook you Hard.

Content Warning: Maeve has a history of a toxic, abusive relationship and the bad guy turned into a stalker and violent once they broke up. She also has a toxic friendship. Maeve has severe anxiety and panic.

I love that Maeve is a woman in sports. Heck yeah!
And Tanner knits!

Sorry but I found this a little lacking for a few reasons, but initially because where was Mama Bang? She was talked about and said to be the reason behind the fake relationship, and was texting Tanner a lot at times (although that petered out) but not actually present. Until the epilogue. So why bother, it just didn't seem to fit with the rest of the series & was just a loose link (nowhere near the strong family connections we'd had in other books which is what helped give the stories depth and really bond us to the characters and family). Not exactly ideal when this is meant to be the conclusion of the series. Although Annie's book did seem to almost be written as the final one in some ways so perhaps they were moved around.

Either way, I don't think it was a particularly fitting end to the series which could've had some big family gathering in the epilogue where everyone actually interacts and we get to catch up with all the couples. Instead we get Maeve finally meeting the parents etc and a proposal without the couple actually having told each other they love them. Until that point. The only family update is another diary entry from Stella a couple of weeks later that isn't really enough.

Also things with Kate resolved weirdly and quickly. She was put into the car and T was going to drive her straight to the airport to get rid of her. Without a bag or any kind of wrap up of the situation of any kind? If she'd really reached the point of messing up (unravelling as it seemed) and admitting everything why did she just passively get in a car and not say or do anything else for at least the 15 mins it would've taken Felix to drive there? It's like 'right, it was her, here's a bit of an explanation and moving right along'. No explanation of who Maeve had been seeing lurking at various points (did Kate hire someone?) or her getting any kind of resolution or clarification on anything from Kate.

In fact the more I think about it, the more disappointed I am. And that's a shame. I thought book 1 in the series was fantastic and I enjoyed books 2-5. Tanner's story didn't jibe with the rest of the series for me and that can't just be explained away by everyone treating him like the baby so he was avoiding the family and they didn't need to feature much. Because he still texted them (although we got no details on this) and hung out with Annie once. He says he's not being treated as a man but I almost had no idea how old he was (don't recall it being mentioned). It was honestly a mess and my thoughts are obviously messy so I'm struggling to articulate it.

I hadn't read this author before and they were actually the only one in this series I didn't know so having this be the conclusion to the series seems a shame. For me anyway. I'm not sure I'll be able to leave the rating at 3 stars, it might need to go lower.

Universal

Maeve Carter may be the perfect example of forbidden and off-limits, as Tanner's hockey teammate's daughter, but she's also the only woman Tanner Bang wants. He's a rookie, and her father is his friend and mentor, but he can't help but be tempted by Maeve. And when the opportunity presents its(her)self, he caves, and now is even more fascinated by her. Is it insane to think the two of them could ever be together in the real world?

Maeve doesn't trust many people, nor feel safe with them. But she feels both those things with Tanner. She's not supposed to be with him considering her dad is his teammate, and she's also his team's physiotherapist, but she can't help but be drawn to the warmth and strength he exudes. Now they've embarked upon a fake dating thing that's testing the boundaries of the friendship they've developed. Fake might become real if they can skate past all the obstacles in their way.

Tanner's quite possibly the sweetest, most rock steady bbf I've read in a long, long time. The way he was calm and strong and there for Maeve had me swooning so hard. He let her lean into him and helped her gain the confidence she used to have. And most of all, he helped her heal and realize that she didn't need him to be strong, but that she wanted him next to her. I'm sniffling just a little now that the final Bang brother has found love, and Mama Bang's meddling has come to an end. Or has it? Because she does want grandkids...

HOOK EM HARD by Cathryn Fox is a contemporary, adult, erotic, hockey romance set in the author’s Boston Bucks Hockey, and the sixth instalment in the multi-authored BANG BROTHERS series. This is team physiotherapist and former model Maeve Rose Carter, and player Tanner Bang’s story line. HOOK EM HARD can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Maeve is the daughter of Boston Bucks player Felix Carter and his wife Hannah.

NOTE: The overall premise of the BANG BROTHERS series focuses on a series of letters written by Stella Bang to her late friend Diane, as she sets into motion a plan to see all of her children married and happy.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Maeve and Tanner) HOOK EM HARD follows the friends to lovers / fake relationship between our story line couple. Maeve Carter is the Boston Buck’s team physiotherapist, and the daughter of Tanner’s oldest teammate Felix Carter . Maeve has a stalker, a former boyfriend who has targeted our story line heroine in the past, but someone else is determined to destroy our story line couple, one betrayal at a time. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Tanner and Maeve, and the potential fall-out as another possible stalker has taken aim at our story line heroine.

The world building focuses on family, friendships, betrayal and moving forward. Maeve continues to struggle with the demons from her past but the demons have returned under the guise of someone else. In an effort to keep their relationship a secret, and allow Tanner to protect our story line heroine, Maeve and Tanner devise an explanation about a fake relationship to avoid further complications from family and friends.

The relationship between Maeve and Tanner is a friends to lovers, fake relationship. Tanner plays on the same team as Maeve’s father, and everyone is aware of what happened in the past. Maeve is off limits but Tanner is desperate to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love. Someone else is determined to break our story line heroine, taking aim when she is most vulnerable and alone. The $ex scenes are provocative and passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including Stella and Lars Bang: Felix and Hannah Carter; Maeve’s best friend Kate; several members of the Boston Bucks Hockey team, and their significant others.

HOOK EM HARD is a story of betrayal, jealousy and vengeance, secrets and lies, family and friendships, relationships and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is dramatic and compelling; the romance is seductive ; the characters are dynamic, charismatic and lively.

Tanner Bang - the last sibling to fall

This is the final installment in the multiple author written series Bang Brothers, and what a wonderful conclusion to this highly enjoyable and entertaining series. HOOK 'em HARD by Cathryn Fox was an emotional read, with humour, spice, and a touch of suspense. It's time to meet Tanner Bang, the youngest and final single Bang sibling, and Maeve Carter, ex model and physiotherapist for the Boston Bucks.

Tabber and Maeve met at a Bucks training camp when he required work on his injured shoulder. They struck up a friendship, and while there was an instant attraction and chemistry neither were looking for any type of relationship. Tanner's sole focus was on his hockey and Maeve was fearful of her past being repeated. A year passes and Tanner finds he is still attracted to Maeve, but being his teammates' sister, he knows she is off limits. Maeve was attacked in her past and still wears both emotional and physical scars, she still finds it hard to trust people outside of her inner circle, yet she is drawn to Tanner.

Shared stares across the bar and a missent text led to Tanner and Maeve unexpectedly in the same room. After a few drinks and a loss of inhibitions, Tanner and Maeve share some heated sexiness and can no longer hide the feelings they have for each other. So begins a secret relationship. Tanner and Maeve are amazing together, the banter, the care they have for each other, and their spice was way off the charts. Their time together is full of fun and laughter, but something is bothering Maeve. She feels as though she's being watched and keeps seeing men lurking in the shadows, is her past coming back to haunt her or something more sinister happening?

HOOK 'em HARD was a fabulous read. Tanner and Maeve were perfect for each other. Tanner was delicious, the way he cared for Maeve, his possessiveness, and the constant encouragement he gave her. For everything Maeve had experienced in her past she was a strong woman who wanted to live her best life. While Mama Bang doesn't grace many pages, her presence is still felt. I loved Tanner's teammates and the way their wives and girlfriends made Maeve feel a part of their group. This book made me laugh, squirm in my seat, and wonder who was lurking in the shadows, it had all my emotions on high alert. It was a wonderful conclusion to this series.

If you haven't had the chance to start reading about the Bang siblings, I highly recommend doing so.

A text sent to the wrong phone number, one night to remember, the past coming back to haunt someone, and 2 very interfering mothers who believe their kids need to be in a relationship. What else can you ask in a story line? Oh did I mention a stalker as well and the girl is the daughter of a teammate?

Maeve Carter has just joined the Boston Bucks as a physiotherapist and wants to make sure that she proves she didn’t get the job because of who her father is. The problem is she is a former model and so there is always some people in her face including one from her past that she wish would just go away. What she wasn’t expecting though was a night when a text was sent to the wrong Tanner and meeting up with the newest Buck player might be the solution because there is no mistaking the connection between her and Tanner Bang. Now can she work through all her fears and realize he is the one for her or will she let her friend interfere and cause more problems than solutions.

Tanner Bang is the last of the Bang family to make it to the NHL, while he isn’t looking to be in a relationship there is this the one girl he is attracted to. The problem though it is his teammate’s daughter and she isn’t looking for a relationship at all. But when there is interference from not just his mother but her’s as well, the best option might be to fake date. The one thing though neither is ready for is the fact that there is definite chemistry between them. So the fake dating relationship might soon become something more serious. If they are both willing to take the chance.

This is the final in the 6 book series about the Bang family. The fact that the authors were actually able to tie them into their own series and be able to make them stand alone was incredible. Not many have the ability to do that. This series has allowed me to expand on the books by these authors I now have in my TBR list. I was also very lucky to meet 3 of them at a Reader/Writer event and made me love the books even more. I loved the plot line, the way it touches on things that are not always talked about and is definitely one I would like to see where they are in a few years.

𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐤 '𝐞𝐦 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝 by Cathryn Fox is the 6th and final book in the multi-author 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 Hockey series, featuring a fake dating romance for Maeve and the last Bang brother, Tanner. Maeve is a former model turned physiotherapist whose life was turned upside down by a violent ex in the past. She has sworn off men, but can admit that the new rookie on the Boston Bucks, Tanner Bang, catches her eye. When an interesting mix-up brings Tanner to her door, she has a decision to make. Their chemistry is explosive, but a relationship between them is a bad idea. But when he needs a plus-one in Santorini to keep Mama Bang off his back, what’s the harm in a little fake dating ruse? That is, until feelings get involved, and potential danger starts lurking around every corner…

I can’t believe we’ve come to the last of the Bang siblings! What a fun series it has been! I enjoyed Tanner and Maeve’s connection, which brought plenty of banter, great conversation, and oh so much spice!!🔥🔥 I was also quite intrigued by the suspense element that developed throughout the story, although the resolution of that subplot at the end of the story did feel a bit abrupt and left me with a couple questions. I loved the little mentions of the family, and of course, Mama Stella, who has worked hard to steer her kids toward happiness. This was my first book by this author, but I look forward to checking out more of her work! Overall, I have truly enjoyed seeing how 6 different authors have created connected stories within the same fictional family, while still fitting them into their own existing worlds.

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Maeve Carter is the Boston Bucks physiotherapist and daughter of Bucks player, Felix Carter. Maeve had an ex boyfriend who turned into a stalker and became violent which resulted in him going to jail. Maeve suffers from panic attacks and finds it hard to trust people. Tanner Bang is a rookie player with the Boston Bucks. Tanner isn't look for a relationship as he is trying to establish himself in the NHL, but there is only one woman he is attracted to and wants, Maeve, his mentor and friend's daughter. Maeve is surprised when Tanner shows up at her door after receiving a text that was meant for someone else. They spend the night together but agree they shouldn't pursue anything further even though both are clearly attracted to each other. To keep both their mother's from interfering in their lives, Tanner and Maeve agree to fake date, and Maeve agrees to go as Tanner's plus one to a wedding. Will their fake relationship lead to real feelings and a real relationship? Will Maeve turn to Tanner when strange things start to happen? Is Kate really the friend Maeve thinks she is? Can Tanner convince Maeve she is stronger than she thinks she is? Will Maeve overcome her fears and follow her heart to Tanner? Can Tanner and Maeve find their happily ever after, or will an outside force work to pull them apart? I loved Hook 'em Hard by Cathryn Fox. Tanner and Maeve have a strong connection and smoking hot chemistry. Tannner is the quiet strength Maeve needed to lean on and make her feel safe while building up her confidence as she overcame her traumatic past. I would definitely recommend getting Hook 'em Hard by Cathryn Fox and the other books in the Bang Brothers series. I received an ARC copy of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.

This has been a fun series to read with different authors and different hockey series tie ins and I’m sad that it’s over. “Hook ‘em Hard” is an emotional, steamy and eye opening friends to lovers hockey romance with some suspense on the side.

Mauve Carter is the newest personnel on the Boston Bucks team and is trying to start fresh after an ex turned into a stalker and became violent with her. She’s always on alert and trusts few in her life. Tanner Bang is also new on the team and keeps to himself to prove that he’s worth a spot on the roster. When Mauve’s best friend gets involved one night, she sends a text to the wrong Tanner on her behalf. But even with that mistake, there’s a draw between Mauve and Tanner. The two start spending time together and when Tanner needs a date to a wedding, Mauve offers to help him out despite her fears of her past.

This book had a different feel from the first five books with the added suspense of Mauve’s fears creeping into her present. I did like that aspect to it but I wish it had a little more romantic side to it. Mauve is very cautious in who she associates with now and even with just a few close friends in her life, she misses the signs of who is truly not on her side. She focused on the evil her ex brought vs what was right in front of her. She didn’t truly live but just hid behind the security her father could provide and then eventually what Tanner could provide. Tanner did help her in ways she needed. Tanner is caring and protective and would help anyone that needed it. He worked hard to become a hockey player and made sure he kept his spot. Unlike the other books, Mama Bang wasn't in this book and I missed her crazy antics to get her kids together. The ending was good and I overall enjoyed this series.

The Bang Brothers Hockey series has been a joy to read and will make you smile as you turn the pages. Each book focuses on a Bang sibling and Mama Bang. Hook Em Hard is the last book in the series and it's Tanner's story. He is the youngest of the Bang siblings and can't escape Mama Bang's matchmaking skills.
Maeve is the physiotherapist for Tanner's hockey team. There is an attraction right from the start when she was helping him with his shoulder but her life does not see her wanting to have a relationship. Tanner is focused on his career but Mama Bang is pushing him to bring a plus one to the wedding he is going to. When Maeve's bestie sends a hook-up text to the wrong Tanner, Maeve is faced with a dilemma, either hook up or just stay friends. A few drinks and walls come down and the sparks ignite. The only thing is they need to keep the relationship a secret and Maeve doesn't want the media to recognize her or print any pictures or information about her. Tanner is her white knight or her knight in shining armor. He would do anything for her to see her smile and hear her laugh. The two of them have a connection that is strong and their chemistry is evident right from the start. Danger follows her but there is a mystery about how and who is involved.
Hook Em Hard is an intriguing, easy-to-read page-turner romance that will have your complete attention right from the start. Ms. Fox throws some twists and turns in just to keep you on your toes. I am sad to see this series end.

The youngest Bang Brother has fallen hard, and Mama can rest now that her babies have all found someone to love! What a ride this series has been. The final book that caps off one intriguing journey was top-tier. Tanner and Maeve captured my heart with their fake dating set-up that turned into so much more, just like it always does. Filled with tender moments, laughter, and suspense, Tanner and Maeve's fall was utter perfection.

What do you do when the person you want is off-limits but so intertwined with your life? Tanner has been watching his teammate's daughter from afar but knows he can't be with her. She's also the team's physiotherapist, which makes her twice the forbidden fruit. But what's a guy to do when temptation lands in his lap? Reach out and take the opportunity before him with both hands; that's what happens at an away game. Maeve lives quietly and safely after a traumatic incident made her step back from public life. Her daily routine revolves around a job she loves and her father and mother. Every shadow is something to fear and causes her to call the person who lives closest after spending one night exploring what could have been with Tanner. Now, the two have devised a plan of fake dating to spend time without raising her father's suspicion while trying to uncover whether or not the shadowy figure outside her home is from her past following her around again. What harm can come from pretending to date besides falling in love? But will Tanner and Maeve succeed in their ruse or end up exposed?

3.75 stars. Maeve, the female physiotherapist lead, is an ex-model who left modelling after an ex-boyfriend physically scarred her. Living a retired life, she’s working for her father’s hockey team. Tanner, the male hockey player lead, has Maeve’s father as his mentor. Whilst he’s been attracted to Maeve since he met her, he knows her history as well as his relationship with her father and wouldn’t approach.

Then Maeve’s best friend sends Tanner a message inviting Tanner to Maeve’s room after an away game. Finding themselves mutually attracted, they try to balance that against other concerns, including the fact that Maeve thinks she’s seen someone stalking her and her ex was recently released from prison…

This story is dual POV, well written, and an off limits, contemporary hockey romance. I empathised with Maeve’s history and understood how it had ongoing ramifications in her daily choices. I enjoyed seeing her work on her personal growth to be more self-confident and independent from those she had previously relied on. I enjoyed Tanner’s patience and appreciated his concerns about being enough and/or the best person for Maeve. I enjoyed the relationship development. I found the ending a little abrupt, though I understood the character choices and reasons for those choices. This story was the last in a multi author series and it also felt like the series finished abruptly. I wouldn’t mind seeing a Christmas novella or something similar showing the characters moving forward.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Hook 'em Hard by Cathryn Fox, book six in the Bang Brothers series, is a story of betrayal, jealousy and vengeance, secrets and lies, family and friendships, relationships and love.Tanner Bang, the youngest Bang sibling, is the newest player on the Boston Bucks; keeping to himself in order to prove that he’s worth a spot on the roster. Maeve Carter is the Boston Buck’s team physiotherapist, and daughter of Tanner’s oldest teammate Felix Carter. Maeve had a stalker, a former boyfriend who became violent and was jailed as a result of his behavior. Since then, Mauve has been cautious, always checking her environment, and suffering from panic attacks; trusting few people. When Mauve’s best friend forces her hand to connect with a friend, one night, she sends a text to the wrong Tanner on her behalf. Despite it being a mistake, there’s a magnetic pull between Mauve and Tanner, and the two start spending time together. The chemistry that sizzled and sparked between Tanner and Maeve was intense. Only, it was their friendship that added an additional layer and makes this book so special. There is someone else is determined to destroy our story line couple, one betrayal at a time. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Tanner and Maeve, and the potential fall-out as another possible stalker has taken aim at her.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including Stella and Lars Bang: Felix and Hannah Carter; Maeve’s best friend Kate; several members of the Boston Bucks Hockey team, and their significant others.

This is the final book in the Bang Series following 5 brothers and a sister. This book is Tanner, the youngest and Mama Bang is still determined that all her kids need to find love.

Tanner is determined that his mother is waisting her time with him. He is not ready for all that love and relationship thing or is he? It could be that the one he wants to be with is not only off limits but she is pushing through her fears and slowly making her way out of the house after a horrible ordeal. Watching her from afar has become his new best time.

Mauve has found her footing after that horrible night that cost her so much more than her modelling career. The fear that she still lives with now all this time later when she is out or even in her own home is sometimes too much. She is trying to put herself out there more but it is very hard. She worked hard to find a new career and is damn good at what she does.

When a text message is sent to the wrong person, it becomes a new friendship that could be more. A strong made to watch out for her as she takes baby steps to finding her way. Standing beside her and letting her feel out this new life. The more time spent the more the sparks fly.

It is always a sad day when a series is over but this had given us a glimpse into 6 different series and some new authors for some.

The Bang Brothers Hockey Series written by multiple authors is one of my favourite series of 2024 and Hook ‘em Hard was the perfect book to end the series on. This is Tanner Bang and Maeve Carter’s entertaining and at times emotional story and as with all the previous books Stella Bang sets the scene with her journal entry to her best friend who she lost.
Maeve hasn’t had it easy with her career or her relationships and she finds herself working for the hockey team her father plays for. But what happens when her best friend gets her to hook up with a man and she accidentally texts the wrong Tanner….that’s where Tanner Bang comes in and that’s when things get real interesting because he plays for the team and her father took him as a rookie under his wing…….
So is baby Bang ready for love, one click this gem to find out.
I loved everything about this book, I fell hard and fast for Tanner and Maeve is the girlfriend I would love in my corner but it’s the camaraderie the Bang family share that’s makes this series so special and let’s not forget our interfering but with the best of intentions mum Stella who is intent on finding love and partners for her children. A wonderful series that I will definitely be reading again and again. If you want a book that will leave you smiling look no further than Hook ‘em Hard.

I recently finished Hook 'Em Hard, and I must say, it was a delightful addition to the Bang Brothers Hockey series. This sixth installment centers around Tanner, and I found his journey to be both heartwarming and steamy.

The story revolves around Maeve Carter, the Boston Bucks' team physiotherapist, who is portrayed as a strong and beautiful character. The chemistry between Tanner and Maeve is absolutely palpable, creating moments that are emotionally riveting and intensely passionate. I loved how Fox balanced the romantic tension with the dynamics of a close-knit family, especially through the humorous and loving interference of Mama Stella Bang. It added a charming layer to the story that I really enjoyed.

While I found the pacing to be generally enjoyable, there were moments where certain plot developments felt a bit predictable, which is often the case in romance novels. However, the well-crafted characters and their growth throughout the story definitely compensated for this, making it a satisfying read overall.

In conclusion, Hook 'Em Hard is a fitting conclusion to the series, filled with warmth, humor, and romance that I think fans of the genre will appreciate. I’m giving it a solid four stars for its engaging storytelling and memorable characters. If you enjoy a good sports romance, this one is definitely worth picking up!

This was probably my least favorite of the series, but that was mostly because it didn't fit in with the rest of the series. Mama Bang was really not in the book, and had little to do with Tanner and Maeve hooking up.

Although Tanner had been attracted to Maeve for over a year, he didn't act on it as she was the physiotherapist for the Boston Bucks, the same team that Tanner played for. But when Maeve appears to make the first move, Tanner is all about the opportunity, but Maeve has many fears that hold her back in so many ways. So Tanner has to navigate the winding path to keep moving forward, while maintaining balance and boundaries. But when odd things start to happen, Maeve fears the past is coming back to haunt her and with her best friend having her back, she knows she has someone to rely on. But things are not always what they seem, and at first glance it looks like Maeve's stalker is back to haunt her, and it could be someone close to her!

This closed the series out nicely, with a little suspense and a lot of heat. Would have loved more of Mama Bang, but still a good story.

"Momma Bang, it is hard to say goodbye to you as we reach the sixth and final book in the outstanding, must-read *Bang Brothers* series. This series has been a thrilling journey, bringing together the talents of six different hockey romance authors, each infusing their unique flair to create something truly special. The last book, *Hook ‘em Hard*, written by the brilliant Cathryn Fox, showcases the youngest Bang brother, Tanner, and his journey to find love with Mauve, the daughter of his oldest hockey teammate.

The road to happiness is anything but easy for Tanner and Mauve, with challenges that will keep you hooked from the first page to the last. But fear not—Momma Bang is on hand one final time to guide her last child to his happily ever after. With sizzling heat, a dash of mystery, and plenty of heart, this story begins on a high note and only soars higher, leaving readers both satisfied and yearning for more.

And as the series concludes, be sure to have tissues ready for the final letter Momma Bang writes to her dear friend Diane. This heartfelt goodbye is the perfect, emotional end to a series that has captivated and enchanted from start to finish."

After being victimized, Maeve is certain all her decisions are bad ones. Besides, who can she trust to tell her otherwise except her daddy. As the physiotherapist of the hockey team her dad plays for, she works on the shoulder of the quiet and somewhat broody rookie player, Tanner Bang.

Momma Bang is down to getting her last child in a relationship and towards marriage. Tanner isn’t against it, just interested in the one girl he shouldn’t be…his teammate’s daughter. After all, she has been through so much and the last thing she needs is him and the attention he has the potential to bring.

I love a romance with a bit of suspense and/or mystery. Though it was pretty easy to figure it out, it was the anticipation of seeing how it all played out that kept me riveted to the last quarter of the book.

I’m sorry to see the Bang Brother series end. At least I can see each of them again in the series which coincides with each of them. You don’t have to have read the first 5 books in this series to enjoy Hook Em Hard, but I strongly suggest it. (I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

I was sad to read the last book in the Bang family. It was such a good book to end with though. Maeve works for the hockey team that her father plays with and is a physiotherapist and has worked on Tanner Bang’s shoulder. It was so sad the Maeve had an ex-boyfriend that stalked her and cut her face a few years ago, especially since she used to be a model. Maeve didn’t go out much after that experience and always thinks he is out there after her. Maeve gets together with her best friend Kate when the team plays in Florida. Kate calls dibs on Tanner Bang while they are at a function. Then Kate accidentally texts Tanner Bang from Maeve’s phone to meet her in her suite. This begins a friendship between Tanner and Maeve that Tanner had hoped for. I was on the edge of my seat at times when it seemed like Maeve’s ex was stalking her. Maeve’s friend Kate comes to visit her a few times and wants to work on the hockey team with Maeve. I didn’t like Kate from the beginning as she always seemed like she was controlling Kate. But I loved how protective Tanner was of Maeve. I strongly encourage you to read the book.

Cathryn Fox scores with HOOK ‘EM HARD (Bang Brothers Hockey #6). Tanner Bang is the last of the kids for his mother to marry off. He is a rookie on the Boston Bucks. He is interested in the team’s physiotherapist, Maeve Carter. The problem is she is the daughter of his oldest teammate, Felix Carter. They wind up in a fake relationship to help ward off his mom, in exchange for his help watching out for her ex.

Cathryn Fox does a great job with this story. Tanner and Maeve are both likeable characters. Tanner, being the baby of the family, feels like people do not always think he is capable. He feels smothered by his family and wants to prove himself. Maeve is a former model. She was attacked leaving her scared (physically and emotionally). Since then, she does not like to be in the spotlight. The couple face interesting situations and grow throughout the novel.

HOOK ‘EM HARD is an excellent conclusion to the Bang Brothers Hockey series. I love how Cathryn Fox included characters from the other books in the series. I am now interested in reading the Boston Bucks’ series. The first book is STICK MOVE. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
