Pulling the Goalie

Rate this book
Isaac Keller, heir to Keller Financials—a kingdom built on billions—and college hockey star most likely to go pro just passed me off as his girlfriend to his dad .

Only, I’m not his girlfriend. I’ve never even talked to the guy.

Not once.

I have every intention of forgetting about the moment I lost my head and sanity, the way his big hand felt wrapped around mine, the way his dark eyes set my skin on fire—and move on with my life as if none of it ever happened.

Only, that’s not possible when Isaac finds me in the library, spewing nonsense about how he needs me to be his fake girlfriend. At first, I reject his crazy proposal. But then he shows up at my house, charming Mom and Grams. Before I know it, I’m sitting at the kitchen table listening to the two most important people in my life tell me how good it is I’m finally going to get some life experience under my belt.

I make a list. I’m a list girl, so that’s what I do. When I sit back from my list, I ignore all the reasons I shouldn’t, and decide I will. But I have a few demands of my own.

No cheating. That’s just gross, even if this is fake .
I want eight dates, and I want them to feel real. He’s gotta put skin in this, too .
I want the boyfriend experience. The whole experience. Do I have to disclose I’m a virgin?

The lines were drawn crystal clear, and my goalie stood strong in guard of my heart. We both knew the terms and conditions, so what could go wrong?

Born and raised in Alberta, Canada, Alannah Carbonneau is only a short drive away from the Rocky Mountains that have a staring place in so many of her novels. With seventeen novels and counting currently available on Amazon, Alannah is not only a full-time author, but a full-time mom of two beautiful boys, and wife to an amazing man who always has her back. She lives in a rambling ranch house that needs way too many renos and has one too many cats, but she is happy and in love.

With a solid circle of friends and family, and a very manly, supportive husband who does his best to make sure his family is taken care of, Alannah’s novels feature manly men (sometimes they can be a LOT manly) and friend/family relationships weaved into the stories, because life is about a whole mess of people, and although this is fiction, the best fiction is sprinkled with sweet (and sometimes not so sweet) bits of reality.

Because she loves romance, Alannah writes Contemporary and New Adult Romance. Soon to be released is the Creekwood Valley Series that has ties to the reader beloved Donnelley Brother Series, where light suspense and romance weave to create titillating stories that not only steal your heart but keep you on the edge of your seat. She is the author of the highly rated Teach Me Series, an emotional read about love, life and lessons learned. Our Dark Design is a standalone erotic romance peppered with enough suspense to keep you turning the pages, and The Choice is an entirely unconventional standalone romance about three.

She is currently working on a Cross World Fantasy Romance Series for Adults she can’t wait to share with you, because this will feature hot men who are a little bit dominant and a lot protective who are head over heels in love with stubborn, magnificent women.

When Alannah isn’t writing or spending time with her three men, she can be found in her garden, or with a paint brush in hand. But no matter where she is or what she’s doing, you can bet that she’s thinking of a love story she can share with you.

writing: too good for the story LOL | plot: i am confusion | ending: mama we made it | spice: the house is made of glass

2.5 stars just b/c of the writing... rest was redonk

my opinion

Do KU hockey romances have me in a chokehold??? PERHAPS!!! I think a YouTube video is in order because I've been banging through these hoes like a Jehovah Witness knocking on doors.

Imagine if Jane Austen wrote a hockey romance... undeniably the prose would be banging but it would be a weird read. That's the vibe here. Undoubtedly, Alannah can write. The way that she described the Isaac and Ayla's budding feelings for each other... Is this Atonement or is this a hockey romance? The writing was WAY too good for this type of faking dating/bedroom lessons plot—to the point where it did the story a disservice.

I just could not buy into Isaac (20) and Ayla (19) having these kind of Mr. Darcy ass thoughts. For a plot like this with such young characters, you need punchy, conversational writing, not: "She was the star, and I was an astrology, bewitched—mind, body, and soul—by her beauty." Considering the length of this book, the seriousness of the writing kept pulling the vibe farther and farther into Medieval times vibes, to the point where I expected Isaac to rock up riding sidesaddle on a horse and challenge Ayla's ain't shit bio-dad to a duel.

Also... a catered college house party with waiters serving hors d'oeuvres? BFFR.

In summary: great writing, wrong story for it. I, an irrelevant internet stranger thinks Alannah needs to get in her Kristin Hannah bag and really go for it. Leave the fake dating hockey romances to the Stephanie Archer's of the world (no shade, I really enjoyed The Fake Out).

pros and cons

pros: she can actually write but she shouldn't be wasting her skills on this type of teenage fantasy story (no shade b/c I'm eating them up like it's the last supper)

cons: vibes were too serious for the characters and the setting—kinda felt like gossip girl vibes but not as fun?, let's ban the phrase 'pop my cherry', Isaac needed court-mandated therapy, ending was absolutely ridiculous lmao, engaged whilst in college?????? are they attending BYU? (respectfully)

I'm not going to break her heart, because she's not going to give it to me. I'm not worthy of it, anyway.

I could not put this book down once I started it. It had my attention from the very first page!

Isaac is a hockey player, a womanizer, and a Keller- which means he's from an extremely wealthy family. After an incident where a woman Isaac slept with pretended to be pregnant to get money from his family, his dad gives him an ultimatum. Settle down and stop being a manwhore or else hockey will be taken away from him. That's the one thing in his life that he truly loves, so he'll do anything to keep that from happening.

Cue Ayla. She's just walking by when Isaac spots her- she didn't know he even knew her name. She gets conned into a fake dating scheme with him, but he's not the only one reaping benefits! Ayla is a shy college student who's never dated. She wants the full boyfriend experience. And Isaac? He's the perfect man for the job.

Woooooow, I loved this so much. I like how Ayla didn't shy away from being herself! Isaac is a tough nut to crack, but he's so sweet to Ayla, especially when he realizes his feelings. They gradually went from strangers, to friends, to lovers. And the chemistry between Ayla and Isaac is insane - it nearly burned my kindle. It's a bit of a slow burn but has lots of tension. I loved how they were just... perfect for each other. They complimented each other very well!

"I could watch you for the rest of my life, just as you are, and I swear I'd die happy."

This was a pleasant surprise. 5/5!!

Have you ever fallen in love with your fake girlfriend?

In Pulling the Goalie, we see the relationship between Isaac and Ayla. Isaac is a college hockey star who has a chance to go pro, only problem. His Dad is threatening to take that chance away if he doesn't stop sleeping around. Enter Ayla, who happens to be in the hallway at the rink. Isaac gets Ayla to pretend to be his girlfriend. So they fake date, causing everyone to freak out as Isaac is well a Billionaire, and Ayla is the shy girl no one knew of. They make rules and agree to not fall for each other. Yet when Isaac realises it's impossible not to fall for Ayla, what does he do? Will he keep up the idea that they are in love and dating? Or will he admit how he really feels and that Ayla is one of a kind?

I LOVED THIS BOOK. One of the BEST books I've read in a while. It had the perfect amounts of steamy to fluff and made you feel everything they felt. Both characters are written well and have so much depth that is perfectly paced throughout the book. While we know Isaac is a playboy, we learn why he is and how he feels about it after meeting Ayla was great. Ayla and her family were such a great thing throughout the book too. Her family is perfect for her storyline and the way she learns to treat people due to them is amazing. While I wish we saw more of the friend aspect and the end of the dinner (iykyk) I really overall enjoyed it. I hope we get a book on all of the other characters but mostly Drew, Carley and Sophie. I wanted more Sophie!!!!! Besides that one of my new favourites!!

Tropes:

Fake dating, Shy girl with popular guy, ballerina and hockey player, Arranged marriage being played, rich MMC and FMC who doesn't care about his money?

Thank you to Booksiren for this amazing ARC read!!!

This started better than the rockstar book, I guess. It’s better paced overall. Makes a little more sense.

The biggest drawback was the weird overly-engineered flowery long declarations said by the MCs to each other at every possible opportunity. Once in the middle of a sex scene right before first thrust. First of all, no college kid talks like this. Not ever. Especially not when he’s about to ram it home. 😂 MAYBE. MAYBE, they might WRITE something like this after several do-overs and multiple edits. But no one speaks to each other this way. Especially not 19 year olds. It’s weird as hell and distracting.

The 2nd thing that drove me nuts was that the most interesting sex scenes were told in one sentence after-thought mentions. We don’t get any of the wildly passionate out of control emotional couplings that would have added depth and excitement to the romance. Instead we get overly thought out, overly consented, overly everything sex scenes that were OK, but after the first one, we didn’t really need it to be repeated. We get it. You both consent to sex with each other because you’re in luuuuurve 🥰🥰…. Now give me passion and excitement… make the scenes count. Don’t just give me the same corny sh*t and skip over the fun scenes. I want the scene where the Hero is so hot and bothered that he drags the h into an empty classroom and effs her brains out against the wall… and forgets to ask permission or to use a condom. That tells me something about his headspace. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Don’t Yadayadayada through all the good stuff!!

And lastly… the last 25% of this book is excruciating boring. The drama had no drama. Nothing was really at stake. It’s just ridiculous corny declaration after corny declaration. What a freaking snoozefest.

I finished though. Probably because the writing style was engaging. I think there’s a lot of potential here. I’m giving it 3-stars because it was an improvement over the first book I read by this author.

“I’m in love with you. All in. I’ll do all I can to give you everything you want.”

Are you looking for a sports romance with fake dating and heavy flirting? How about one where the two characters agree to a mutually beneficial relationship that eventually turns into something more? Pulling the Goalie by Alannah Carbonneau might be the book for you!

Pulling the Goalie is an entertaining read that features good characters and a fun plot! The main characters, Issac and Ayla, have a lot of chemistry, especially for two people in a “fake relationship”. Both characters experience amazing growth throughout the book. Issac learns how to open up and allow himself to fall in love. Ayla becomes more confident in herself and allows herself to experience more of life.

I’m my opinion, both Ayla and Issac are relatable characters. They both strive to make their families proud (forced or not). Issac wants his grandfathers approval, especially since his tuition and hockey are on the line. Ayla takes care of her mother and grandmother and works extremely hard to help make ends meet so her beloved family theater is revived. Together, both characters learn about themselves and one another as their relationship develops.

a little flowery but I liked it

It was a pretty good book if not a tad over the top. Also it was BARELY a hockey romance and BARELY a college romance. It read as a wrong-side of the tracks ballerina/billionaire playboy book more than anything else. Yet I enjoyed it. Also, Grams was delightful.

the way I'm on my knees for Ayla and Issac 🧎🏽‍♀️ because OMG!!! I have mixed opinions I'm going to be as honest as possible! Because it's very necessary especially for this book.

For one the beginning had me wanting to DNF i'm not gonna lie. 😒 it was giving The Deal by Elle Kennedy. I didn't like that at all, but mainly because I did not like The Deal. I said what I said. anyways, at this moment I would like to offer Madam Allannah a DEAR apology!! Your book was superb to say the least!! I LOVED IT SO FRICKING MUCH!!! I ate it up!!

I will say that the beginning was SUPER corny!! I'm not really into the whole "baby this" and "baby that" trope. Also, I just hated the way Issac talked at the beginning, IDK. But then you redeemed yourself throughout the book.

I loved Issac SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!!! I was a little annoyed at the fact that his inner monolouges didn't align with his actions. It annoyed me so much. One second he would be talking about how he wants her and is in love with her, but then turn around telling her that this is all Fake you need to remember that…. BOY WHAT?? MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!! 🙄 But it was the same thing with Ayla. So whatever.

Something that really made this book lose a star is the FRICKING THIRD ACT BREAKUP. I only took one star because it lasted for two days. but I really don't understand why she threw in the towel so FAST for something SO stupid, but she also so the error of her ways, so its fine, I guess. But please let's not do this again. 😒

This book is def worth the read! I loved it so much and I was sooooo GIDDY!! The quotes i have highlighted!! I dont care I"M BUYING THE HARD COPY!!!! I can't wait till this book drops !! IT WAS SO FRICKING GOOD!!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. 🥰❤️✨

I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect as this is my first book by this author! Man did I love it! Issac pulled me in right from the start…bad boy needing to impress the family and get the family off his back for a while. Right on time, Ayla- dancer, quiet, tiny, invisible…here to be that fake girlfriend he needs!! It has all tropes…fake dating, college romance, one bed, virgin FMC, opposite attract…
The spice was right on the edge of really good spice 😉, this was more a slow burn to almost a fade black. Not very detailed in action but more detailed in emotion if that makes sense? But damn is there some dirty talk 🫣🫣

This is my new favorite fake dating book. Isaac a playboy hockey player is the Heir to one of the richest families in the country. To appease his father and grandfather he gets into a fake dating agreement with a "good girl". Ayla agrees if he'll give her the "boyfriend experience" since she has never had a boyfriend or even much of a kiss. Isaac falls First and HARD. I swooned hard for Isaac and his declarations of love.

4.25⭐️

Issac is a playboy but his family is sick of it. Especially after a girl claims she is pregnant with his child…

He comes from a family with LOTS of money and will be taking over the family business when his grandfather steps down.

After his father tells him he needs to find a good, quality girl to settle down with he has a freak out moment and says the only name he can think of….. Ayla….

When he calls her baby and starts acting like they are together she is like wtf is happening but plays along…

She is so confused and didn’t even know that Issac knew her name or who she was…

A couple days later he tracks her down and begs her to pretend to be his fake girlfriend. She immediately says no and then he continues to beg and she says she will think about it…

After he shows up and tells her mom and gma that they are dating she doesn’t have a choice now but to fake date him.

She makes a bunch of rules… The main ones are they both dont want a real relationship but Ayla wants the “real” boyfriend experience including dates and Issac taking her v-card.

He immediately says no but then changes his mind.

They spend a lot of time together and real feelings start to grow…

Issac is the one that says he wants this to be “real” because he wants this girl more than anything in the world.

Things get hot, a little drama happens and Issac finds out some crazy info about Ayla’s “dad”.

I love how hard he falls.
I love how sweet he is.

Loved this book more than I thought I would! Hockey player romance is not one of my favourite books to read but I enjoy fake dating books so I took a chance and am glad I did. Isaac Keller is a college hockey player who dreams of playing in the big league but his family is very wealthy and as the heir he is expected to toe the line, stop his womanising ways and marry a suitable girl. While he is having this conversation with his father he spots Ayla who is a college student and out of the blue tells his dad that they are dating. Ayla is totally blindsided by his claim but sees that Isaac needs her to go along with him and so she introduces herself to his father. His father is shocked because Isaac is a player when it comes to the ladies and Ayla is quiet and a bit shy. They end up agreeing to fake date with Ayla coming up with some conditions for their fake dating. No one must find out , she wants 8 dates, they are to remain inclusive and because she has never dated before she wants the full boyfriend experience that includes Isaac taking her v card. There is a reason that Ayla hasn't dated, her father left her mother when Ayla was a baby and took all their money leaving her family with a crippling debtt. Her father sounded awful and you actually get to meet him later in the story. Fyi, he is as awful as I thought he would be lol

It doesn't take very long for Ayla and Isaac to start getting the feels about each other. Isaac treated Ayla so nicely, he didn't pressure her into doing anything she didn't want to do, he was very respectful of her. The steamy stuff was amazing! They made such a lovely couple and there is a wonderful happy ending for them.

Pulling the Goalie has so many of my favorite tropes. Fake romance…. hockey player… rich bad boy who is determined to never fall into a relationship…. girl that is in way over her head with the bad boy.

Isaac is amazing. He knows what his family expects of him after college, and he's prepared to do it, but only after he's lived his life the way he wants - which is to live his dream of playing in the NHL for a time before he gives it up and takes over the family business.

Ayla knows how she wants her life to play out too - her plans are to make her family's dance business a thriving success and is willing to put in the hard work to get there, and she is hell bent not to lose herself along the way.

Isaac needs Ayla to get his family to back off even if it means he has to settle down with an acceptable girl while he finishes college. Imagine his surprise when she agrees to help and even though you'd think finances would play a part in her decision, it never enters into the details of the agreement. Even though it's a fake relationship and both promise to not catch feelings, Ayla wants the real boyfriend experience, including dates and the ultimate boyfriend experience. But somewhere along the line, things change and a few people from the outside of their fake relationship threaten the bond that has grown between them.

I'm very excited that I received an advance review copy for free and that I loved the book so much that I want to leave this great review voluntarily. If you like fake romances that feature college athletes and a rich powerful family trying to call the shots, you'll love this one!

I honestly don't think I was expecting to love this book as much as I did. Im a hockey girlie, so I tend to be drawn to hockey romances like this one. This book was the first time I had the added trope of fake boyfriend, and boy was I not disappointed. I finished the book a few days ago and still haven't stopped thinking about it.

I loved everything about this story. The romance, the banter, the characters, the entire storyline, and let's not forget about the smut scenes! This is the type of book that if I had the opportunity to do so, I would have read it in one sitting. I honestly wish that it was longer and I'm hoping that we get more books like this from the author because I would love to keep reading.

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone but let me just say that Isaac Keller may be my new favorite book boyfriend. I love how Alannah makes us dislike him in the beginning, and we get to see his full growth as a character. I really appreciated the double perspective in this story especially with so many things going on, it's important to see both sides.

I was so invested in this story as well as the lives of the characters that I often found myself yelling at my kindle or just out loud in general because we as the audience knew more than the characters. It made me read even faster so that I could feel less stressed and find the happy ending after all the ups and downs.

This book is a complete rollercoaster, and I'm ready to ride it again! I need more of these characters, of Alannah's writing, all of it! I can't wait to see what's next! :)

"Pulling The Goalie" is not my usual type of read, but something about the blurb drew me in and I'm so glad I gave this book a chance! This book reminded me of the time I devoured Elle Kennedy's books, one after the other, and fell in love with the jocks who thought they knew it all, until one tiny lady came into their lives and blew their minds.

I absolutely love the two main characters in this book. On the surface, Isaac is the typical jock, adored by all women even though he doesn't date any of them. But pretty soon it becomes clear that he's more than that, and he's struggling with his own kind of problems. I adore his interactions with Ayla, and the fact that he falls head over heels for her, even though he tries to fight it. While I'm not always a fan of virgin fmc's, it truly works with Ayla. She's not shy or anything, she's just dedicated to her future, and dealing with a bit of trust issues. The two of them together are a rom-com dream, and I devoured this book from start to finish to watch their relationship grow.

So yeah, this book was awesome, and I loved it from start to finish.

Where to start where to start!! This is a “sport” romance and I use the word “sport” lightly. It’s sprinkled in there but not as much as other “hockey” romance books. So if you want hockey heavy blurbs- you will be disappointed, so know that going in.

The FMC is YOUNG I’m assuming college freshmen with a good head on her shoulders raised by Mom and Grandma. She is a hard worker and has aspirations and goals set for her success in life. FULLY support this in a young character. For me this makes her a YA character verses adult character. With that said- she tends to have an “adult” persona that I feel clashes with her age. I feel she should have been written to be a little more mature in age 22 ish verses 19. For this I felt that it merited 4 stars.

The MMC is well written and placed more appropriately in age “20’s”. He is our hockey star. Playboy. Rich Boy. Some what of a “bad boy” all wrapped in an attractive package that well, is brought to his knees by our FMC.

Over all it was a great cozy read- I feel books like this are a great read after a book hangover! The bridge to your next heavy read!

Enjoy!!!

eh, alright…2.5-3 stars

The main characters were decent but this is a drawn out read that doesn’t give you much to keep going at times. It had a slow burn but the do they don’t they like one another portions were hard to get through since they were so frequent. The side characters needed a bit of development (especially since everything else was so long-winded). There were MANY spelling and grammar errors throughout the text—I have to look but it read like a translation, at times OR a very rough first novel draft.

They get the HEA at the end but the steam was lacking especially with the naughtier bits they alluded to wanting to try. I would give this a 2/5 for steam.

Romance a 3/5 just because Isaac had a few good lines.

There were many insecurities that both characters had to work through in the text. They were 19/20 yrs old but the references to how small she was and how he was a “man” were over the top. The maturity levels varied to where you forgot they were that young and then it became blatantly obvious neither had been in a relationship before.

It was an okay read, but definitely not the best book I’ve read this year.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I most definitely would. I was first drawn to this book because it’s a sports romance novel, and they are my absolute favorite. Add in the “fake relationship” trope and I couldn’t start this book quickly enough.
Honestly I think I have read eleventy billion fake relationship stories, and I will probably read this amount again. Each author has their own take but this author in particular has written two incredibly likable and authentic main characters that has made this book just that little more special.
I liked how they come from two completely different worlds but together they are perfect. Ayla’s family are everything to her, but Isaac’s family, well they are on a whole other level. There are some good things about them, but let’s just say they are not your everyday people.
There are some great supporting characters as well and I would love to see them end up with their own stories too.
I truly cannot recommend this book enough it is just that amazing

Average, fast paced, and anticlimactic.

Let me start by saying that Isaac has a way with words. He said some of the prettiest things that could've brought me to my knees. His character was great - love him! Ayla was good, but her character could've been better. She was missing something. The whole book was missing something. It was your average hockey romance. It had some good parts and some blah parts. I felt like the story had too many sub plots. Like Brody, Drew, Isaac's family, the theater, and the donor. It started out as one that I thought was going to be it. A nice strangers to friends to lovers romance then the author added other characters with feelings and then other issues and it all became too much. This book was 0 to 100 for the story really fast and not that good in my opinion. The ending was anticlimactic and rushed. Overall 3/5 stars because it had potential and because of Isaac ⭐⭐⭐

I loved this book! It’s definitely well written and well worth the read. It gives you all the feels and more.

I didn’t like the way Isaac was at the very start,The way he spoke about women and his type but he definitely redeemed himself.
For me I didn’t feel like the “problem” was the right choice, I feel like the author could have gone down another route. (Don’t want to spoil it)
I also would have liked an extended epilogue. One with them as a family would have been nice.

But overall, fantastic author, her writing is incredible and the story of Isaac and Ayla have a special place in my heart.
Given this is my first read of Alannahs, I can definitely say I’ll be reading more of her books. Absolutely loved her writing style.
I will be needing the hard copy version ASAP 😋

And can I just say… chapter 27 😍

Another amazing book from Alannah Carbonneau. I swear, she has some of the best prose on Kindle. As good as Elsie Silver and Devney Perry. She's so good at evoking emotions and immersing the reader in the story. I'm not just reading, I'm watching the movie.

But one thing always pulls me out of the story and makes it four stars instead of five. So many grammatical and spelling mistakes. "Champaign" instead of "champagne". "Lesson" when it was supposed to be "lessen". "Pyjamas" which is the British spelling when the story takes place in the US and should be "pajamas". Randomly capitalized words that shouldn't have been. There were so many, it was distracting.

But the story, the character development, the prose, all of it was top notch, it just needs to be proofread again.

3.5. The first half I was bored. It was way too much telling. There was hardly any dialogue and I skimmed. But the ratings were so high I was determined to find out why! In the end I’d say this is slightly over a 3 so I rounded up.

What I liked:
- ISAAC! From the minute they make the deal he’s the perfect boyfriend. And he just gets better!! 😍😍

What I Didn’t Like:
- The writing was a bit repetitive.
- Too much telling, not enough dialogue.
- I wanted to explore the best friend liking his girl angle! Why was there no more conversation between Drew and Isaac? It was this random important part of the plot that just popped up when needed.
- For a hockey star and a lifelong dancer there weren’t any scenes of actual hockey or dancing. 🤔

I loved, loved, loved this!

I was pulled into this right from the start and it didn't let go - Ayla and Isaac were such amazing, three dimensional characters and their story was full of twists and turns. It was so much more than a college fake dating hockey romance!

I also loved the fact that there is SO MUCH PLOT to this book as well! Family drama on both sides, friends that want more than they should… if you like a sports romance I can't recommend this one enough.

I will definitely be looking out for more by this author!

I loved this book their relationship is something I think we all strive for that one person who would do anything for you and loves you completely. What starts as a deal soon turns into something neither can deny. I loved seeing their relationship blossom and Isaac in particular fall.

I’d love to see what happened to Isaacs ‘best friend’ and Aylas.

The MMC does play hockey in college but hockey is not referenced much other than occasionally (so if your looking for a sports romance with references this one doesn’t much) but that didn’t stop me reading it I loved ultimately the story of them and honestly id love to see what happens next for them!

Like a (slap) shot to the heart… If you are looking for a sweet (sometimes spicy), fake dating (don't worry, I'll never fall for you - you are so not my type), opposites attract (even when they fight against it), then read on! Ayla and Isaac make a deal, both of them certain that they will walk away unscathed at the conclusion. But the heart wants what the heart wants, and sometimes your brain….well, it just doesn't stand a chance!

This book was amazing!!!! I loved every single second of it. I was supposed to be working but I couldn’t put it down! It’s such a wonderful sweet love story. I love having Isaac’s perspective, to see him wholly devoted to her, even just for pretend sake.

I want more of them! If you decide to write a sequel that’s just more love, maybe some babies and new house/theatre material, I would eat it up!

Fabulous job, and if you are considering this book, don’t hesitate!!

This book was a very entertaining read from beginning to end. Honestly what is not to like about a book about a "fake relationship"! I loved the characters and the story line was incredible. From the moment I picked up this book I was drawn into Ayla and Isaac story. For me this book will be one I read again many times. I am definitely going to see what other books this author has. I enjoy sports romances and hockey romances are my favorite this book lacks a lot of hockey, but it is a sweet fake relationship read. The characters Issac & Ayla are relatable characters & do have a great chemistry. There are definite similarities when it comes to appeasing their families thou they are from very different backgrounds.

Overall this is a good read, I would just like more “sports”. I would give this book a solid 3.5 rating.
