Crime Never Pays… Well yes and no depending on what side of the fence you’re on!
I’ve always had a strong passion for whodunnits, crime series, and books. The more I immersed myself in it, the stronger the fascination grew.
In my spare time, you’ll find me in the gym, reading, binge watching Netflix or taking walks in the forest.
Oh, and I’m an avid people watcher, I just love to watch people, their mannerisms, and their way of expressing their thoughts… weird I know, but I could spend hours doing that. It's funny, because watching people often gives me insights and inspiration for describing human interaction in my books.
Fun fact: My favourite, bestest place ever on earth? Any of the Florida theme parks and the mad coasters out there. Add the food, shopping and weather, and you've got the best place on earth... especially when I see the joy on the faces of my family when we're out there :)
Weird fact: Spending an afternoon in a mortuary to bring my books to life. Oops! poor choice of words there :)
This book was a police procedural masterpiece and a thriller as well. If you like heart pounding suspense, you will like this book. Detective Inspector Karen Heath of the York police is investigating the murders of two young women who were similar in physical characteristics. Karen and her team discover that they are always a step behind the perpetrator of the crimes. Who killed the women and why? Find out by reading this intriguing book. I highly recommend it to other police procedural readers. I received an ARC of this book, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.
This series just gets better and better. The move from the Met to York is clearly beneficial to DCI Karen Heath. Though this case does result in some panic behaviours not seen since leaving the Met. A dilemma as to whether this case is a copycat or an assistant previously nit found is the initial problem. The killer is also forensically savvy too even ensuring no mobile signal can be traced. It is a bit of a page turner and the finale really is edge of your seat.
Another impressive mystery murder with Karen Heath and her determined team. Women disappearing and turning up dead with no clues whatsoever really does test their resolve in finding out who the killer is. Karen and Zac are getting their relationship in full swing now and this case brings them even closer. Another reliable read from Jay Nadal.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, even solved the killer before Karen , but it was a cracking storyline and hope next one will be as good. I actually gave it 5* but annoyed that only 4 * have shown up though probably my fault. Highly recommend.
