I didn't believe them when they said they would corrupt me. I was wrong. So wrong.
The night my sister died, a piece of me died with her, so I made a vow. I'm going to enroll at Spine Ridge University just like her, find the person responsible ... and make them pay.
Until I meet three sick boys of the Skull & Serpent Felix, Dylan, Alistair. Rude, heartless, vicious guys who are obsessed with making me regret I ever stepped foot on campus.
They make me a My body in exchange for a glimpse at their violence. Refusing them is impossible, denying them is insane.
They're rough, greedy, and every second with them is filled with depravity. Their venom is jabbed straight into my heart and I'm sucked into their world. All for the sake of revenge.
Until it becomes something more. Something priceless. Something all four of us would kill for.

I try not to give authors under a 3 star rating, and to be honest this only gets one b/c of the sheer insanity and entertainment value of the book.

There is no plot, just cum, lots and lots of cum, that all taste different. Yes, our girl can taste the difference, and her kitty, well apparently that's delicious too, like chocolate. With so much man juice flying around everywhere (and trust me I mean everywhere) I have to wonder how a yeast infection never occurs. Or a pregnancy. Cause, unprotected sex and all.

Then there is the small matter of the bedazzled buttplug, which seems akin to a disco ball. This reeks of someone else's toy b/c I highly doubt these 3 dangerous dudes bought a sparkly one. Which would mean its a former partners.

Speaking of the dudes, one of the has a dick so thick he has to use both hands to wrap around it. Yet somehow this girl can take him plus one in her hoo ha? I mean I was aware this is a work of fiction, but I didn't think it was the bionic woman.

Overall the absurdity of it made me cackle, and for that I'm grateful. After having a friend rant to me about it I knew I couldn't miss out on the hot cumster fire this book seemed to be. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT

This book is the Jerry Springer of books, and if you can dodge the cum an really entertaining read.

Clarissa Wild writes book in my preferred genre so I see them in my ads and reader groups all the time. However I’ve never been able to finish one. The others I tried to read and dropped I chalked up to not caring for her writing style. Having literally forced myself to finish this I’ve determined she’s just not that great at writing.

Why was I so determined to finish? Ugh, I guess because this should be exactly my kind of book and I’ve seen lots of buzz in my dark romance groups. I figured there had to be something to this. Was there actually something good here? Eh, kinda but it was really destroyed by poor writing.

Her characters have absolutely no depth at all. They are completely flat and it’s impossible to relate to them. Their actions and reactions come across completely nonsensical. The dialogue is painfully cringy and corny.

I’m not sure why the author thought it was a good idea to have the three main male characters be in a SERIOUS sexual relationship with the dead sister before h but she really committed to this as being a great thing. It’s just fucking gross. How am I supposed to believe they will ever feel like h is special when they’ve continuously compared her to the dead sister. Gag worthy shit.

Why did I give it 2 stars instead of 1 or 0? I wanted resolution to the story. I finished it and it’s not the worst book I’ve ever read, it just wasn’t good. Parts of the story were straight up ridiculous but I still wanted closure. The smut is pretty decent IF you really, really, really like degradation. If degradation isn’t your thing the smut here won’t appeal to you. I enjoyed the occasional jealousy and possessiveness amongst the guys. I know RH/Why Choose readers probably don’t like jealousy and fighting in the group but jealous/possessive Hs are my absolute fave so I ate that up.

Do I recommend this book? Absolutely not, it’s not worth your limited reading time. Reading the back of a cereal box would be a better use of your time.

Is this safe? I wouldn’t call it the safest read. Dylan and Alistair are decidedly much less committed in the beginning. Especially Dylan. He’s naked in a pool with some other girls at one point and kisses one in front of h to provoke jealousy or some dumb shit. Don’t worry she immediately fucks him to reward him for being a gross douchebag. All of their douchey behavior is rewarded with group sex throughout the book and she’s degraded thoroughly in every encounter. At one point Felix and Dylan dances with another girl “to prove to they could”. So dumb and useless but ultimately harmless I guess. I was skimming towards the end because I was over the tedious stuff but it was action stuff and I’m sure there was no cheating there.

THE REST OF THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS SO PLEASE DON’T CONTINUE IF YOUR GENUINELY INTERESTED IN THIS BOOK!!!

—————————————————————

okay let’s just start with a plot summary.

the story starts of with Penelope Richards, freshman at Spine Ridge University. she’s just transferred for the new year a few weeks after her sister (Eve) has died (suicide) and she wants to know what/who exactly caused her bright and colorful sister to make that decision. side note, before her sister died she sent Pen her diary that held all these “cryptic messages about people that hurt/bullied her.

Pen runs into the books namesake on campus, the Sick Boys. Felix, Dylan, and Alistair… honest thoughts? they have wannabe vibes. especially Felix. anyway, so it’s automatically pointed that they might have something to do with Eve’s death right from the start and so Pen gives them a hard time and doesn’t trust them. they steal Eve’s diary from Pen and she goes to get it back from them and they strike a deal which is basically “you let us use your body and we will help you in anyway we can” and she obviously lets them because you know…

Pen has her suspicions on this one guy, Nathan, because he had someone slide a bloody note that threatens her under her room door, and to help her the boys post copies of pages all over campus. including pictures of her. awfully hurting, but it works and they lure Nathan out. they torture him, he gives nothing up, they take a finger, Pen stops Felix from killing him blah blah blah. something to keep in mind is that Nathan is a Phantom which is a rivaling house to the Skull and Serpent Society (the house the boys belong to). so when the other serpents hear about this they go to attack Pen, Dylan, and Alister while they’re at a party and things go downhill. One of the guys (Kai) loses an eyeball and the other gets burned alive. They get caught for this but because Dylan’s dad is the dean they get off pretty easily (and also Pen spun the truth). Now Dylan’s dad is kinda suspicious because he keeps telling the boys to leave Pen alone and she’ll only harm them.

fast forward a little bit, Pen learns that the boys were actually involved with Eve. i’m talking foursome involved (yeah i was kinda grossed out that they claim to love Eve so much but like within months they’ve essentially replaced her with her sister), so Pen is obviously upset about this and then she learns that the day her sister died the four of them actually broke up. when she confront the boys about this they say that it was “mutual” and this upsets her because she doesn’t believe it and runs off. while she’s thinking of everything she now knows, she keeps thinking of this one part of her sisters messages to her. the numbers “303”. what could they mean? suddenly it hits her. Dylan’s dad’s office… she snoops around in his office and finds some papers with his handwriting on it and realizes that the note that was slid under her door by Nathan has the same handwriting. the dean was behind it. when she confronts him about it he threatens her so she leaves and goes to her parents’ where she gets her sister’s old phone. she looks through it and finds an email she had sent to the dean.

Eve was pregnant.

knowing this and having read the dean’s reaction (he told Eve to break up with the boys or leave and abort the baby) she takes her revenge and lights the school on fire. things go downhill fast, the boys are pissed at her when they find her, and they “torture” her until she finally breaks and tells them about Eve. they didn’t know so now they feel bad and angry at Dylan’s dad. the society house gets shot up by Pen’s dad because surprise, her last name isn’t actually Richard.

it’s Ricci and she’s the heiress to a mafia that’s not actually a mafia. (from what i gathered, they work to take down crime families so idk what you’d actually call them.)

while this happens, Dylan’s dad takes advantage of this to get Dylan out (kidnaps him) and Ali sneaks out with them to save his ass (Ali and Dylan are 🫶🏽. they’re basically in love. in this foursome you’ve got two mains. Felix and Pen. Ali and Dylan). the shootout at the society house stops when Pen convinced her dad to stop then her and Felix go after Dylan and Ali. Dylan and Ali get a confession out of Dylan’s dad that he was behind everything and pushed Eve to die, and this whole situation ends with Dylan’s dad dying a very poetic death. the same way Eve died.

—————————————————————

now that sounds pretty interesting right? well, it was but it was also so boring because a lot of was dragged. honestly, half of them book could’ve been cut and i figured out almost the entirety of the plot within first meeting Dylan’s dad.

second, i hated the boys. if i had to pick, Ali would be my favorite just because he seemed the sweetest. but i hated all of them. Felix seemed to possessive for a poly relationship. it just didn’t work. if i’m read a RH dude, i want to see the guys fucking the guys and the girls and not giving a shit. if not this then at least not being this possessive cause it just wasn’t hot.

third, the writing is so wattpad. the story. everything. the amount of times it was reiterated that the boys were “sick”… i lost count. that’s how much. and yk what’s funny? i’ve read a lot of dark romances, and what these boys did barely scratched the surface.

so yeah, there you go. i read it for y’all.

you’re welcome 🫶🏽

This might've been the worst thing I've read in a LOOOONG time. That being said, it did have potential..... it truly did- but the execution was beyond poor. Moreover, the beginning of the book was tolerable, but it just got worse the more I read. First of all the FMC, Penelope, did not have an ounce of self-respect for herself. Felix, Allister, and Dylan were annoying, rude, and just fucking stupid....but Penelope was too so I guess it was a match made in heaven. But WHYY on earth would she willingly be with them after she found out they've been fooling around with her dead sister?!?! Even when Pen found out they repeatedly told her how much they loved her sister and how special she was to them. AND DIDN'T THE SISTER DIE LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AGO??!?! And now they wanna act like they're all for Penelope and so 'obsessed' with her. Like if Eve were alive none of that would be coming out of their mouths, Penelope of obviously some kind of messed up replacement.
Also- it was unnecessarily sexual. Especially in the beginning, YOU NEED TO BUILD TENSION and then do whatever is it you need to. The scenes felt so gross and childish- I wanted to rip my eyes out.
99.9999999999% sure this was written by a 16-year-old who just got off Wattpad. people gassed the author up there so much that they thought writing an actual book was a good idea.

This did pull me in right away, I enjoyed it but didn’t yell it from the rooftops love it. Their bullying antics though may be original to this author weren’t original to me being that I’ve read more than I can count of this genre. So nothing when it came to them stood out above the rest.

The mystery surrounding her sisters death which flat out pointed to this trio had me engrossed throughout. To trust them or not was always at the forefront of my mind.

Loved the twists and turns, loved Felix above the other two. Our heroine was definitely a surprise, she was tough, and gave these boys a run for their money. The sex scenes were beyond 🔥🔥🔥🔥

The title ‘sick boys’ kind of blindsided me which was my main reason why I purchased this. Yes they were bullies, but nothing they did screamed sick.

A perfect quartet of madness.

A whole lot of degradation on a journey of revenge, sick and questionable behavior that makes you question your own sanity while reading? Why yes, PLEASE SIGN ME UP!!!
I was here for it all, every twist and turn, for every attack and all the punishments. All the highs and all of the lows.

These dangerous boys of the Skull & Serpent Society slithered into my life, injecting their toxic venom straight into my blood. And I let them. Willingly. Knowing I would spiral. Until nothing was left but corruption.
Someone I wasn’t there to protect needs me to bring her justice, so I fucking will. Even if I have to let those sick boys corrupt me.

This book started like a roller coaster. Starting with angst and excitement. Some trepidation all leading to that first stomach shifting drop!
This book constantly climaxes, there isn’t a moment when something isn’t going on. This Book Is A Sensory Overload. Just when you think you’ve learned everything, you learn something new. Just when you think the spice couldn’t possibly get any better the next is an inferno. Just when you think you’ve answered everything, new questions arise.

You’re wondering what I would cut off of you… the one thing you would never freely give your heart.

These boys are morally black and sick and obsessively unhinged and the heroine is just as dark.
I devoured this with a gleeful smile, a twinkle in my eye and a nonstop giggle.

I’ve already broken my soul into pieces and given away the shards. Now I am nothing but a vessel for their desires. A toy for them to use and play with until they discard me, and I’ll beg them to do it.

I'm not sure how to even describe the cringe - the overall story was interesting enough and I wanted to attempt finishing but the writing is so bad and childish that it gave me second-hand embarrassment.
And not to mention how the 3 MMCs gave me the ICK, also they blended into each other; it was hard to discern which was which.

"Give me a thousand cuts, and I would still hold you."

Oh how I absolutely adored these sick, sick boys!! 🖤🥵 A business college with some serious ties to big criminal families is the backdrop for Penelope to search out her recently deceased sisters blackmailer... only issue is she needs help from the three deviant campus kings to find out what happened. Needless to say things get spicy and complicated quickly! Highly recommend 🔥

Ok i have time today. My entire review will have spoilers so look away if you don’t wanna know. Because what the hell did I just read.

So lemme get this straight, her sister dies and leaves her a little diary full of everyone that hurt her with a note to stay away from these three guys. And a few weeks/months later Pen goes to the same school to avenge Eve’s death, challenges those three guys and agrees to be their sex toy in exchange to help find her sisters killer.

But then come to find out they were all fucking/sharing and in love with your sister, who you supposedly look very similar too, and you don’t feel like a replacement? They talk about how they buried their feelings and didn’t think they would ever feel again after Eve’s death but supposedly Pen brings it out of them? Eve’s body isn’t even cold yet. She’s barely in the ground. Why do they act like she died YEARS ago?
And the fact they all willingly have sex with Pen not once thinking to mention they were all in a relationship with her sister.

Again.. how do you not feel like a replacement? It’s just casually mentioned how Pen reminds them of her? Or Felix hasnt been possessive or kissed anyone like that since Eve? Dylan hasn’t been exclusive to anyone since Eve? Ali hasn’t been interested in anyone since Eve? EVE HAS ONLY BEEN DEAD FOR MONTHS. Am I crazy to think they couldn’t have possibly even moved on by then? Or if they have how many girls did they fuck in between Pen showing up??

Also the twist of Eve being pregnant… I could never be convinced that these men wanted Pen more than they wanted Eve. Maybe the same? But yuck. And the fact they were all fucking your sister raw and impregnated her? 🥴

Actually at one point this is said “I loved her,” Dylan says, and I squeeze his hand. “Just like I love Penelope.”

The whole mafia/organized crime plot was a mess and confusing. I truly let go of giving a shit about it so I could focus on the relationship otherwise I would have been frustrated with the lack of details. The twist of Pen’s family being a badass anti-mafia…. weird and unneeded.

Lastly, the author jumps POVs so often that at one point they forget which POV they were in and the person was referred to themselves as if it was 3rd POV.

1 sad star ⭐️ I had to DNF this at 70% in and read some spoilers to get the ‘plot twists’. I really wished I stopped this sooner but I kept hoping it was going to get better (it didn’t).

The writing is terrible, the plot had so many holes and the characters had no depth. I pretty much threw my kindle when I realized the relationship Eve had with the boys; that was my breaking point.

I was let down by the positive reviews but I would not recommend. There are sooo many better college RH bully romances out there.

I'm on the fence about this one. I saw it on KU and thought I'd give it a try since it's been awhile since I read anything by this author. I actually got really interested in the characters and the story and all was going well for the first 30% or so. But from there the story went a little meh for me. It was on so long that I started not to care about it much and sat it down more than once. I didn't even finish last night even though I had enough time to.

There was a lot going on which was all really fun and intriguing but somewhere in the middle it was like everything came to a pause and the same scene was repeated over and over. Penelope doing something a little crazy, the boys "punishing" her, and again, once more, and yup another time. No information was really learned for a good bit of the middle and I think that's where it went wrong for me and it had me feeling like the story wasn't going anywhere.

So then the ending I more or less skimmed just to finish this morning but at that point I didn't really care. And the whole reveal about the sister was just a little weird to me since the timeline wasn't that long. It was only weeks after her death that Penelope came to the school and almost immediately started with the boys so that was just not a storyline I enjoyed. And like a few other things it didn't get enough attention in my opinion.

If you like mayhem, murder mystery, boys behaving very very badly, a not so secret society......and purple haired kick a$$ heroine's, then Welcome to Spine Ridge University!!!

I really enjoyed reading Penelope, Felix, Dylan and Ali's dark and depraved story. They are all great characters. Very Hot and Steamy!

Please check the trigger warning ⚠️

I highly recommend this book! And I will definitely be checking out other books by this author. 😊

Not the very worst....

This book was pretty ridiculous. The writing did not seem very mature & the whole thing seemed a bit forced. The degradation went a bit far for me and I ended up skimming through most of the smex scenes. Maybe this is petty, but the author talked about pupils dilating 20 times and it annoyed me. I think at one point it happened twice within a couple of paragraphs. The "bad boys" at times just seemed like bratty little rich boys using their daddys' power instead of having earned respect from people like I've seen in other mafia type books. I kept reading to try to push through to the end but.....I had to call it at 88%.

**spoilers**

I'm not crazy about the actual sisters being Eskimo sisters x3. It creeped me out a bit. I could not read past the pet snake saving the day. I really just had to give up at that point lol

Wow!

Hold on let me pick my jaw up off of the floor….

Alright, we’ll hot damn!

This is probably my first bully romance and I am HERE for it!
The filthiness of D3gradation in this book was chefs kiss, this is becoming a k!nk and favorite trope for me.

The plot in the book, was all over the place but in a good way, it kept me invested. One minute you think you have it figured out, then BAM, nope sucka plot twist!

Penelope the FMC, can we get a slow clap for that lady…👏🏻……👏🏻…..👏🏻….👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! She was tough as shit some of the things these “boys” did would have people just running away seeking Jesus! She is one of my women crushes for just how badass she truly is!

The boys….😈😈😈

😈Felix, the ring leader, possessive, cocky, brooding, alpha-hole.
😈Dylan, the pyrotechnic, charming swooner, swings both ways psycho.
😈Alistair, the artist, loyal to a T, voyer with a huge heart.

If you don’t mind darkness, roller coaster, emotionally damaging romance book….then this is the book for you!

Sick Boys by Clarissa Wild is the first book in the Spine Ridge University series. Filled with glorious spice and a story line that will keep you guessing, Clarissa is so good at writing twists and turns that you don’t even see coming. I love that about her work. Definitely check your trigger warnings because this is very much a dark romance. With delightfully unhinged and highly possessive men and a female lead who can give as good as she gets. This book is a winner for me.

The audiobook is narrated in dual by Desiree Ketchum and Corvin King. Desiree has the best male voice, and she rocked this narration. Let’s be honest: when doesn’t she? Queen! Corvin is the perfect match for this audiobook. I loved his performance of all the different male characters, and they were easy to distinguish. He’s good with female voices, too. Both narrators did a fantastic job bringing this banging (pun intended) book to life.

3.5 round up to 4 for the smut scenes.
-
I got a UTI from reading this.
-
I need to reconnect with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after this one. 😂
-
This is absolutely unhinged and not necessarily in a good or bad way. It's a wild ride from page one. You just kind of go and go and never really know where you'll end up. Once you start it you can't stop it because you need to see it play out, but it takes too many pages to get there. And 90% of those pages are smut. It's at every turn and you never and I mean NEVER know what's going to conspire next. Just prepare yourself for some very uncomfortable sexual situations with a few exciting ones mixed in.

first of all: THIS IS A DARK ROMANCE BOOK!! Read the trigger warnings before you read this book.

I really enjoyed most parts of this book. Those sick boys named Felix, Alister and Dylan have my heart.

First, they were really cold-hearted boys, but they eventually melted for my girl, Penelope 🥹🩵!!
I didn’t like that her sister, who killed herself in the beginning, had a relationship and was pregnant with one of their babies. But I guess that helped with the plot, and there were good plot twists in the end, and I couldn’t sleep until I'd finished that book.

IN A NUTSHELL:

Girl transfers to a gothic murder school ruled by three emotionally damaged “Sick Boys” (that may or may not be responsible for her twin sisters suicide). They hate her for…. reasons (??) which they express through kidnapping, violence, and uncomfortably horny death threats. Think Mean Girls, but sprinkle in some mafia and a shitload of murder.

Is it well-written? No.
Did I devour it in one sitting like a trash panda hopped up on starbucks and birthday cake Oreos? Sure fucking did.

This must have been the most unhinged shit I’ve read in a while.. ✨

I did enjoy myself but the reason I gave it 3 stars is because of the FMC being to easy from the very beginning. I do like me some badass feisty FMC and she wasn’t it… Although she did develop a little bit throughout the story, it just wasn’t enough for me.. 🫣 Going on your knees to get a diary back?!! GIRL STAND UP AND OWN YOUR SHIT.

Besides that I am invested and curious about the other books so I definitely will read those!!

I have no idea where to even start with this review. I guess the best insight I can give on what I thought of the book is to say that I read 780 pages in two days....two days people! There are times I can't finish a three hundred page book in that time frame but I did and I am so glad I had the time to do it because I did not want to put this book down at any moment.

Spine Ridge University is not your typical college, it's a place to study business for the very wealthy and connected to attend. It's also the place where Penelope Richard's sister committed suicide, so Pen transfers to the school with the sole intent of finding out who was bullying her to the point where she decided to end her life.

The first people Penelope wants to look into are three guys that are part of the Skull & Serpent Society, one of the many fraternities that are on campus, Felix Rivera, Dylan Caruso, and Alistair King, there was something in her sisters journal that has her believing they are behind it and if not they know who is. Things get rather interesting when the four of them make a deal to find the bully, especially since the three guys are pretty big bullies themselves.

So many twists, some may shock you some may not, but what will not come as a shock is the chemistry between the four...holy hotness batman! DO NOT READ THIS BOOK WHERE PEOPLE CAN READ OVER YOUR SHOULDER. Please take this seriously because this book has a bunch of triggers so make sure you check out the authors website for the full list.

I would recommend this book to those that enjoy STEAMY DARK Romances, Bully Romances, or Why Choose Romances.

Happy Reading!!!
