Sugar Rush
An escape across the Atlantic, where she can cover her cousin’s bakery and test out her popular Asian-fusion treats, is the healing distraction Londoner Maddie Liu needs after her failed engagement. Her bags are only packed for a few weeks, but the family friend who collects her at the airport is an unexpected and irresistible temptation. Rick Callahan left the Army to take over his dad’s carpentry business and make a home for his sister and her son. Allowing yourself not only to love but to be loved again after you've been mistreated is difficult. Maddie and Rick each have their own emotional baggage. They are both strong and stubborn individuals who are in the process of learning that it's ok to trust in others and share your burdens. They find eachother at a moment of challenging transition and they blossom beautifully both as individuals and as a couple as they allow themselves to be vulnerable with one another.
The author not only tells the story of two people finding eachother, but also explores the value of community and family, both biological and found, in the form of the tightly knit group woven around them who give their lives dimension and meaning outside of one another. There are so many beautiful relationships to explore in this story, their warmth and strength providing the reader with a strong sense of connection and investment in these characters.
Jasmine Luck has an extraordinary talent for leaving one with the sense the world she's built exists beyond the confines of the page. She never writes flat or dimensionless characters. Each character has a depth and complexity to them that is either explored or at the very least hinted at if the details do not fit within the confines of the story. Sugar Rush is no exception. The world and the characters that the author has created are SO vivid, full of life and achingly human. Grab a copy of this delicious treat of a book and get ready to lose yourself in the magic of her storytelling!!

Beyond delicious
This has to take the position of my favourite read this year. The author is so talented, your attention is held from page one and there wasn’t a single page where I wasn’t entirely focused on the wonderful Maddie and Ryan.
Yes. I have a huge crush on Ryan, he’s amazing. But I was equally besotted by Maddie, she’s an absolutely lovely person and I adore the way she dealt with her problems. Life isn’t perfect - and this book gives us a glimpse of that whilst magically sweeping you up in the romance. And the steam … oh my word - perfect, that’s all I’m saying! Reach for a fan.
As mentioned, the romance is delicious, 5 star perfection, but that’s not all this book is. It’s about family, finding new friends, a community, seeking your place in the world. It shows us that it’s ok to assess your life and realise the goals you were striving for have changed. Then have the courage to follow that new path and embrace all it brings. That and the sexiest carpenter I ever could have imagined, I need a Rick.
If you haven’t discovered this author yet, you need to. She’s a marvel and I absolutely recommend Sugar Rush to you all.

A sweet romance
Maddie's trip across the pond to help family run their bakery came at the right time.
It's only supposed to be for 3 weeks, but then she meets Rick when he picks her up from the airport.
Can he get past her walls? Is romance on the cards? Will she go back to England leaving him behind?
Loved the characters in this book. Rick, especially. He was sweet, caring, sexy and just what Maddies needs, add in his lovely sister and her adorable son, and it'll b very hard to walk away.

If I could give this more than 5 stars I would! I devoured Maddie and Rick's story in one sitting and even hours later I cannot get them out of my mind.
Maddie is such a wonderful and relatable character, while Rick is utterly swoon-worthy and may possibly be my all-time favourite love interest.
This was such a beautifully written story, and it wasn't just the handsome hero that had me salivating. Maddie's creations sounded so delicious I wish I could have reached into the pages and sampled them myself.
I am very excited to read anything Jasmine writes in the future.

I absolutely adored this book! Rick and Maddie had such excellent chemistry, and I thoroughly enjoyed every step of their journey! Jenny and Toby and Laurie...every single character was so well-developed and so vibrant on the page.
Each time I delve into Jasmine's works, I'm enchanted and utterly absorbed! Did I accidentally read like 75% of this book in one sitting? Yep. Do I regret it? Absolutely not!

I absolutely loved this book!! It is such a well written, funny, charming and easy read. The characters are expertly written, making you really invested in each of their story line.

This is such a readable and heartwarming story! I love the characters and you become so invested in them! I can’t wait to see if there will be any further insight into the lives of other characters in the book. Go read it!

overall it's fine... but i feel that the additional pov of the hero's sister was pretty much redundant, because in the end it doesn't seem to have given the book any bonus points or make the book any more interesting. i mean why would the readers care about the hero's sister pov? maybe the author is gonna have a second book in the series about the sister therefore she slot in something about her, who knows?
but in general, i think author needs to know that "less is more", slotting in useless things or meaningless povs is not gonna give the book plus points.

SUGAR RUSH is everything sweet, steamy, and ADDICTIVE! Jasmine Luck's ability to weave so many storylines together into one beautiful story is incredible. The journey for this HEA is page-turning, and I couldn't put it down! This is an absolute MUST READ for romance lovers!
