As they delve deeper into the mystery they discover a mind enhancing new drug has hit the streets and bodies are beginning to stack up. The only link they can find is a little yellow rubber ducky.
When Flynt gets the notion that maybe he should try the new drug and open up the rest of his brain, things start to go south. Rapidly! From the college lab, to illegal raves, and the county morgue, the street drug Ducky is wreaking havoc on Puta Gorda.

Flynt and Steele are becoming partners. Flynt is just so lovable and so shy that how can Steele be mean to him. Besides Flynt is a very good detective with his quirky way of seeing things. This is definitely a detective story but the personal interchanges make it heartwarming. There is humor and human exchanges that show how and why Flynt is emotionally damaged. But then he experiences something profound that might make him better able to interact with his police colleagues. You must read a the first book in this series to understand how they become partners and why Flynt is considered an oddity. Just shows that we are all odd in our own way but that doesn’t make us unable to function. Give it a try. Book #3 will be out soon so get started.

So a mind altering drug that makes the mind think that ducks are more human and that they want people to fly with them. Fluent and Steele try to investigate a strange death and along the way discover that they are becoming a good detective team. Solving the murder brings them into contact with the inventor of the drug and the eventual solving of the case.
Fun fast read! I didn’t think I would like this series, but I was looking for some thing a little more lighthearted but still in the crime genre. I like reading series because you can get to know the characters a lot more. These books although they’re supposed to be like crime thrillers they make me laugh and they’re very sweet.
I read all the time but I’m not a good book reviewer. Suffice it to say, I liked Dead Duck. Flynn and Steele make great partners and are learning about each other. Hardly anyone, in the precinct, know what a good detective Flynn is. You won’t be sorry you read Dead Duck.
This is the second book I've read in this series and have already preordered the third! The detective duo is unique , but very likeable. Nice character development, and the story flowed smoothly. Can't wait for number three!!!
Book 2 of the Flynt & Steele series continues in its intriguing murder mystery way. Good read...and totally clean! I really enjoy an author who doesn’t resort to every gutter word invented. Storyline creative and fun. A must read!
I read all 3 of these books, and loved them. Hope there is a fourth one,so I'll know what happened to the characters. Starting on the Cole series next. So far the books are clean with lots of twists to them.
This is the second book in the Flynt and Steele Mystery series and it’s just as great as the first! If you love a good detective series with tons of banter these are for you!
Book two in the series and Flynt continues to gain confidence. Very interesting start. A completely nude man, panted in camouflage, is found in a tree with a duck head in his mouth. Nothing to see here folks. The ME determines is was a heart attack and not murder. Those must have been some drugs. They traced the drugs to a college professor and then continue to track distributors that had gotten a hold of it and altered it. The altered drug wasn't quite the same formula and people are getting violent. What if a meth dealer got hold of it and altered it more. Where do they go from there. We have to wait for the next book
