Welcome to Luxiria, where the twin suns are hot and the alien warriors are hotter…
After being rescued by Luxirians, Taylor Glass thought she had a plan: return to Earth, continue with her normal life, and pretend that her alien abduction never happened. However, it goes awry when she finds herself constantly dreaming of one of her rescuers—a smoldering alien with piercing gray eyes and a fierce scowl. Outside of her dream world, he clearly wants nothing to do with her, and that fits perfectly with Taylor's well-laid plan of getting back to Earth as soon as possible, no distractions needed.
Ambassador Vikan has been grieving his lost love for years after tragedy stole her away. But when his Instinct awakens for a human female under his protection, the Luxirian warrior fights against the undeniable, animalistic pull, torn between loyalty and desire. When his restraint fails him, however, Vikan does what any sane warrior would do: steal the female away before she can leave for Earth.
Their journey is cut short when they crash-land in the wilds of Luxiria. As they navigate the dangerous terrain and fight their dizzying attraction, Taylor and Vikan must confront their deepest desires, even when the line between dreams and reality becomes blurred.
Zoey Draven has been writing stories for as long as she can remember. Her love affair with the romance genre started with her grandmother's old Harlequin paperbacks and has continued ever since. As a Top 100 Amazon bestselling author, now she gets to write the happily-ever-afters—with a cosmic, otherworldly twist, of course!
When she's not writing, she's probably drinking one too many cups of coffee, hiking in the redwoods, or spending time with her family.

I just do not understand why Vikan, after resisting and ignoring his Instinct, suddenly decided to kidnap Taylor to “explore” it.
He knew how it was going to end: with him unable to let her leave. Due to loyalty for his deceased mate, he did not want this to happen, which is why he initially avoided her. To have him suddenly change his mind made no sense, and it was super distracting for the rest of the story.
All his grief with his dead wife vanished the moment he decides to just “let it go.” He was so insistent on being with Taylor before he even knew her that it diminished his love for both of the women. Taylor said she wasn’t jealous, but then acted jealously. When he and Taylor do discuss it (and discuss it and discuss it), Vikan treats it delicately in a way that doesn’t cheapen his love for his wife in order to express his love for Taylor.
Vikan’s characterization is inconsistent. He is serious and broody and controlled, but then he was around Taylor and became indecipherable from the other males in this series. Even the sex is the same. We get it: men are obsessed with their fated mates. It’s sweet, but they lose their personality in the process.
I think I need a brief break from the series because they’re all starting to bleed together. Knowing me though, I’ll pick up the next book in less than two days.
This was the weakest of all the books - it's love after a partner death trope, which is usually a fave. However the storytelling was uneven and there's a whole chunk of the book where nothing happens but alot of repetitive internal monologuing. Not my fave.
I'm not a fan of the Hero or heroine being hung up on a previous dead love.
This is the premise of this book but it has been a long time since the Hero's previous love interest died. He becomes aware that he hasn't dealt with the grief, not that he actually still loves her. It is handled well. I liked that the Hero has been celibate since his previous love interest, some 10 years or so despite their culture being very sexually active. No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine. No cheating. Residual feelings for his ex. Previous couples appear. HEA.

I thought I knew which book was my fave. Well, actually I loved all of these equally I think, but for different reasons. But for some reason #5, Vikan just cut me deeper than all of the others. Just Wow. A Great way to begin my Christmas morning by ending this story. It was just beautiful.
I am eager to read the rest of these. I believe #5 marks the end of the Warriors for Luxiria, concerning the Ambassadors and Leaders, but it picks up with the outcasts that were spoken of briefly in certain books. I cannot wait! These stories were just richer to me on many levels. I love how each story is truly different than the last one. The layers and situations just get deeper and deeper for these Alien Warriors and the women who love them.
Seriously, I've never been so enthralled with Alien sci-fi until I found this series. It's awesome. If you're curious start at the beginning and PLEASE read in order.
Ohh I think this one might be my favorite from the series so far. (I won't count Devix, since he technically isnt included here).
I originally wasn't sure how I felt about Vixan (the grieving widower thing was not my favorite trope) but this proved me wrong!
Taylor and Vixan both just want to move on from his Instinct recognizing her as his fated mate. She wants to get back to Earth and he is feeling guilty about moving on from his previous love (who died during the plague). But neither of them can fight this connection they feel and realize that it's okay for them to move forward together.
I love the way they communicate about his past relationship and deal with his grief and guilt over losing her. I also love the introduction of his seer and dreamwalking abilities. That was an interesting and fun new addition to the series.
4.25 stars✨ tbh I thought I was going to strongly dislike the OW issue but it wasn’t dragged tf out so it was fine. I’m surprised that I really loved the dream/visions thing. It was so 😍🥰 that she could see their future together omfg🥹
This is Taylor and Vikan’s story, with a strong, grumpy Ambassador, and action, which is a nice distraction from normal life for a few hours, especially if it is Zoey Draven. Her writing style is easy and inviting.
The Alien's Dream is the fifth book in the Warriors of Luxiria series. It is a quick read with lots of steam and spice. I don't mind reading these books, alpha, aliens, human, fated mates, insta love tropes, because they are sci-fi, and anything goes.
Re-reading this series again because apparently I didn't leave a review the first time.
And with this book, the series really became a clone of Ruby Dixon‘s alien series. Big, blue, horned Aliens, a thing inside them that purrs when their mate is near blablabla. I enjoy these stories, but they are basically one and the same. And with this book even the kidnapping plot. Sigh.
“No matter what your decision is,” he murmured, touching her hand with his, “I thank you for that.”
“For what?” she whispered, unable to resist entwining their fingers together.
“For making me feel whole, normal, for the first time in my life span.”
3/5 stars 1/5 spice? Maybe 2/5
I enjoyed this, was it my absolute favorite? not really, I actually had high hopes for it when it came to the blurb but it became a little disappointing by the middle section repetition.
I liked Taylor when she started to speak and get out of her head more. And Vikan was definitely the stronger character arc in this one for me. I was going to rate this 2.5 but the moment he had to say goodbye to his lost love (passed 10 years prior) was actually so beautiful i loved that part a lot.
The ending was cute, predictable and just an easy read. I still would compare these to a more modernized version of Ice Planet Barbarians.
At this point in the series it feels like I’m reading the same book on repeat with subtle variations. This one had a grief stricken MMC who has visions of the future. I have mixed feelings about the dreamscape. It was a slight change of pace, but felt a bit off, like the author hadn’t planned for this kind of “power” to be present earlier in the series. Although there is a clear mystical element to the way fated mates work in this world, this is the first time an individual has had a power. I felt like the FMCs character was a bit underdeveloped as well. Positives: still had some nice spicy scenes.
Vikan is a widow - his chosen mate died 10 years ago and he’s taken no other mate or pleasure partner since then. He planned to mourn her for the rest of his life, until he caught sight of a human - Taylor - and realized they were fated mates.
He ignores the pull as much as he can, determined to stay faithful to his mate, until he learns she will shortly be returning to Earth… and he realizes he can’t let her go.
The dream aspect of this book and Vikan’s grief made it so compelling, I couldn’t stop reading. I felt for Vikan and his sadness of losing his previous partner but also Taylor’s worry she’d never be able to replace her.
I guess it’s a sign of how much I enjoy Zoey’s books that I’m frustrated with how quickly the plot moves in these. I wish we had more time with the couples. Everything’s very instalove, and there’s so much unused potential in the story (I would’ve loved to see their gift of foresight be utilized more effectively).
This couple was sweet, and I enjoyed Taylor’s go get ‘em personality!
I loved the reluctant true loves in this story. Taylor and Vikan have to work at their relationship, you know after the kidnap fiasco gives them more to m e to do it in. The building romance makes this book especially good to read!
I started a little confused by this book due to the dream sequences. However, as the story progressed I came to enjoy it. It is starting to feel a bit repetitive but I will continue on because I want to see how this series ends.
I’ve been so curious about Vikan since Lihvan’s book about about his past with his chosen Breeding partner. We got all of the answers about who she was and about his special gifts as well. I personally love a story where the couple is stuck in the wilderness and have to survive together and it was great! Lots of sexy and hot dreams throughout this book which really added to the tension and angst between Vikan and Taylor. Loved it!!
Rescued with several other women from alien captors, Taylor Glass again noticed one of the alien rescuers staring at her again. Worse yet, she had been dreaming about him ever since the rescue. Why did he seem so angry all the time?
Vaxa’an, Prime Leader of Luxiria, approached Vikan and asked him to follow him. Vikan was concerned that somehow Vaxa’an knew that one of the Earth women had awakened his Instinct and he was trying hard to prevent it from activating. He didn’t want to desire her. He wanted to be loyal to his deceased mate. Vikan had a gift of being able to see the future of anyone, unless they were part of his own future. So Vaxa’an asked if he could see the Earth woman’s future, and he had to admit he couldn’t. They both knew what that meant. One of the women being cured of her cancer had already met her mate and asked to stay on Luxiria. With no further need to wait, the Prime Leader would return the others to Earth the following morning.
Vikan went home, used the drug to remove his headache, and slept. Just before suns rise, he had decided to at least explore the possibility of accepting his mate – but he may now be out of time. So he decided the only thing to do was to steal her away in a hovercraft and deal with the Prime Leader’s punishment later. Vikan and Taylor begin to talk on the way to his outpost, Lopixa. She is frightened and doesn’t understand what is happening to her. And in the midst of this, a warning sound indicates they are out of fuel and about to crash!
They found a cave to sleep, but it was dark and cold so Vikan held her against him. She fell asleep and he joined her in her dream. She didn’t realize this one was real, he was real and sharing her dream. Then she asked him to take her to their spot on the shores of Lopitax – his favorite place to watch the suns rise -- and he knew exactly where she was asking to go. She cared very much for the man who shared her dreams – but the other one, the “real” one, had told her he wished his Instinct hadn’t awoken! What he had meant to tell her was that, with her, he now felt things he had never felt before. Things were changing between them. Would they both finally let go of the past and let themselves be caught up in this strong love and total devotion that had started to bloom? Or would Taylor’s deep love for her dream mate instead of the actual one – not realizing they were really the same now -- convince her to return home to Earth?
This was such a powerful story! The description of both the environment and the emotions drew the reader in completely. I felt like I was falling in love too! The story line was perfect, moving at the right pace to match the moods. I really do recommend this book, and of course the entire series! It’s getting better and better and this is not one to be missed, I assure you!
