And So, We Fall

Rate this book
Jaxon Hayes is everything I despise.

Arrogant. Self-serving. A nature-hater who’s come to Kitchi Falls for one purpose—to purchase and develop a piece of protected lakefront property. Does he care that it’s currently being used for a children’s community rowing program run by yours truly? Of course not, because Jaxon Hayes clearly doesn’t care about kids, or rainbows, or anything that doesn’t make him money.

Unfortunately, Jaxon Hayes, aka “Jax” to his friends, among whom I gladly do not count myself, also walks with a swagger worthy of an ex-Army Ranger. His presence fills every room he enters, and Jaxon’s good-looks are difficult to ignore. My stupid traitor’s body responds to him even as my mind repels the thought of giving him any extra attention.

Finding myself in a changing room at a beach lido with Mr. Ex-Ranger after we’re both invited to a destination wedding in Sicily changes everything. I can’t forget the memory of his very expert touch, no matter how hard I try.

Thoughts of how he made my body sing in Sicily follow me back to New York’s Finger Lakes where my dreams are haunted by the man who’s humanity I’d glimpsed. A man determined to make me continue hate him despite the fact that—horrors of all horrors—I may be falling in love with him too.

Jaxon and Natalie seem like total opposites. He wants something, she doesn’t want it ruined. He’s arrogant, she’s not falling for it. She’s stubborn, but he is too. And maybe they’re not so opposite in the end. After all, they both have hearts on the line and they definitely feel the pull toward each other. But who will win? Or lose?

Natalie is instantly relatable because she’s got her whole heart involved in what she does for both her career and the kids of this area. And when she hears of Jaxon and his plans, she just knows she’s in for misery and stress. But she’s also in for some hard work at resisting him, until she can’t. And Jaxon is in the same boat. He’s thinking money and profit to bury his heart, but he can’t hide his attraction to Natalie. The difference between them is he doesn’t want to hide it, while she wants to hide from it.

The fact that these two pause their bet more than once and pretend that it’s just a fling at best is laughable. They’re both in deep and they’re both falling. But Jaxon is incredibly smart and knows what he wants. And he’s got a plan to make it all work out. So hold on for the ride because Jaxon will win all hearts while giving his to Natalie for the taking.

I have absolutely loved this Kitchi Falls series. Although it can also be read as a stand alone. Tropes I. This includes:
💗ex- army ranger
💗enemies to lovers
💗small town living
💗dual pov

I absolutely loved Natalie and Jaxson. The FMC, Natalie, is a nature girl and works in land conservation and her and her friends have a special spot they use for wine and she uses for rowing lessons. The MMC, Jaxson, comes to town to try and buy the same land Natalie and her friends use. He wants Natalie and is trying to find how to become more to her than all the snarky, fighting, bickering with the land. Will they both get what they want? Will the land be sold? Will Natalie lose her spot? The friendships carry over from previous books but you can absolutely read as stand alone. If you like Friends with benefits, enemies to lovers, snarky , ex military, with some side betting 😂 give this a read. Thank you to Bella for allowing to read in advance.

Jax and Natalie are so perfect. Jaxon Hayes is not afraid to say exactly what he thinks and doesn’t hold back one bit. Natalie has the self control of a saint and does not waiver in her beliefs no matter how badly she wants to cave to her attraction to Jax.

While they both try to fight it they do it in this incredibly honest way and neither are left guessing about what the other feels. Any book with open communication immediately gets a bonus in rating system!

💋💋💋

And so Bella adds another stunning book to her collection!

Just wonderful, I loved this book and adored Natalie.
She’s such a strong character, standing up for her beliefs in the environment.
Possibly even putting it before her own happiness, that’s conviction.

Jax is a former Ranger, strong , patient and as stubborn as Natalie.
The two clash from the start.
Can they sort their differences and make a go of it, or will they always be at odds.

Bella is getting better at this game, I’m loving the series and looking forward to seeing what she brings to us next.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Natalie loves nature and she especially loves the little piece of protected land where she runs her rowing classes and has a little she shed. When land developer, Jaxson, shows up trying to buy the land to sell, she immediately dislikes him.

As life goes in a small town, they are continually running into each other. When Natalie tips her canoe over in front of Jax’s rental lake cabin, he invites her up to put on dry clothes. This starts beginning of an uneasy truce. When they are both invited to a wedding in Italy things start to heat up.

This is a lighthearted, small town, enemies to lovers story. We see characters from the first two books in the series that we already know and love. Bella Michaels is a master at writing good love stories. This book has a good mix of humor and heat! I recommend you add this to your TBR, it’s a great weekend, read!

First of all, I think this is one of my favorite hero names. Jaxon and "Jax" for short is enticing all by itself. That aside, a great addition to this series of military guys falling for their girl.

Natalie: Loves being in nature, loves her job protecting lands so they remain untouched and she has a very special spot of that land she goes to for drinks with her favorite friends and teaches kids how to row. A small piece of land that feels like her own even though it isn't. Until a man comes strolling into town with a bid on the very land she holds dear. Nothing will stop her from fighting for what she wants. Trouble is, she's fighting between what she feels is right and what her heart wants.

Jaxon: It's his job to find protected land and find the loop holes to buy it. And he has his sights on the very same piece of land this woman is fighting him for. Besides, the plan is for a bed and breakfast so it's not like the land would be ruined. But this woman. Too bad they hadn't met under different circumstances where she wasn't quickly becoming the enemy. But he's a Ranger, he can find a way to work this out in his favor, right? How can he soften up this woman enough to become friends without jeopardizing the sale? He'll find a way right?

And it's a delicious read to see how these two navigate bets, promises, and values as they become much more than friends. Sometimes, in certain situations, all bets are off! I was gifted with an ARC and wanted to post my thoughts.

Natalie, the female conservationist lead, is beyond distressed to find that her favourite stretch of protected land is being sought for purchase by a developer. She’s even more upset to find that he’s friends with her friend’s boyfriend.

Jaxon, the male lead, acquires protected land and then on-sells for others to develop. He’s intrigued to meet Natalie and find her totally averse to him. He’s sure he can get her to want him, EVEN if he gets the land, and he’s willing to literally bet on it - if she can not succumb to his charms, he’ll leave the land alone…

But they’re in a small town, with many opportunities to be in each other’s presence, and Natalie is attracted. So now it’s her values versus her…heart?

This story is dual POV, well written, and a steamy enemies-to-lovers contemporary small town romance. I appreciated how strongly principled Natalie was and that she was willing to stick to her principles, even in the face of serious temptation. I enjoyed Jax’s growing awareness of how much he was interested in Natalie and his consideration of how he could turn the rivalry situation into something more positive. I enjoyed the relationship development. I enjoyed the integrated secondary characters.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Welcome back to Kitchi Falls and I hope you are ready for Jaxson and Natalie.
Natalie is a hard-core nature conservationist. She lives for the land, water, and her give back to the community children's rowing classes. So, when Jaxson walks in with his swagger, calming demeanor and wants to buy the land to flip for a development well let's just say he is her new number one enemy. Natalie knows that he is the enemy but the way that her body and her mind react to him they obviously didn't get the message.
Jaxson is a retired Army Ranger that found his passion in buying properties. He has become immune to women falling all over him, but Natalie does not make that list. If looks could kill, he would be a big guy on the floor. He finds that more than sexy and her sassy mouth just throws him over the edge. When Jaxson's old friend invites him to a Sicilian destination wedding you know the first thing, he is thinking is Natalie going. Yes, she is and now so is he. This is going to get more than interesting as they call a Truce in the beautiful land of Sicily.
I loved the banter, slow burn, awkward and oh so funny situations, and the way he gave her what she didn't even know she needed. It was also such a treat to visit with a few of our old friends from novels past!

"I'm just a simple man sitting across the table from a beautiful woman who is absolutely determined to hate me."
And so I fall even more in love with Kitchi Falls, the third book in this enthralling series, and Natalie and Jaxon's enemies-to-lovers story is as passionate and romantic as the ones that have gone before, from Kitchi Falls to the delights of enchanting Italy Bella Michaels delivered another could not put down the book.

Conservationist Natalie will do anything to save her little piece of the river she is determined to keep as is until developer Jaxon arrives, the sparks fly the moment the two meet, and it doesn't help that he is also friends with one of her own group, a bet is made over the development, except for the weekend the whole group go to Italy, and that is when under the heat of romantic Italy this pair finally let their guard down, ex range Jaxon was drawn to Natalie from the start, her sass, her determination in what she believes and their time in Italy only made his longing for more with her even stronger, but what happens when they arrive back home, who will come out the winner, or can they both have it all?.

And So We Fall is the third and final book in the Kitchi Falls (formerly Military on Main) series and my personal favorite.
Jax is an ex-Army Ranger who is a land developer. He meets Natalie, a land conservationist ( can you say conflict?) and things don't go well, although they are both attracted to each other which makes things difficult for them...fun for the reader though.
Natalie tries to keep their banter and conflict going strong until they go to Italy for a wedding.
Jax wanted to call a truce before they got to Italy, but Natalie declined. When they do call the truce, Jax falls hard and first. He implements his version of the truce immediately and it was HOT 🔥... The lido was one of the steamy scenes but it was very well written.
The two of them waver back and forth once they get home to Kitchi Falls until they realize what's most important. I loved the way Jax and Natalie came to their own conclusion separately. It was beautiful.

Thank you to Bella Michaels for the honor of an ARC. These opinions are my own.

And So, We Fall by Bella Michaels is a small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance that is sure to captivate readers. The story follows Jaxon Hayes, an arrogant and self-serving man who has come to Kitchi Falls to purchase and develop a piece of protected lakefront property. He meets his match in the form of a nature-loving woman who despises everything he stands for. The chemistry between the two is undeniable, and readers will be rooting for them to overcome their differences and find love.

What I loved about this book is the way Michaels creates tension between the two main characters. The banter and pranks they play on each other are both humorous and entertaining. The small-town setting adds to the charm of the story, and the secondary characters are well-developed and add depth to the plot. The only reason I did not give this book a 5-star rating is that I felt the ending was a bit rushed. Overall, And So, We Fall is a delightful read that I would highly recommend to fans of enemies-to-lovers romance.

Ms. Michaels definitely knows how to pull us into her storyline with her gripping writing and addictive characters. And So, We Fall is a small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance which will have you wanting to visit Kitchi Falls.
Natalie and Jaxon are opposites but there is something about the saying "opposites attract" because boy these two fight the attraction that is there with every inch of their being. Natalie, a conservationist, and Jaxon, a man who wants to buy protected land and sell it for a profit, are at odds with one another. The problem is he is a good friend of someone she is friends with and trying to ignore him is impossible. A proposition is offered and an agreement is made, but it's what happens during a "pass on the agreement" which has the pages catching on fire and feelings become stronger. Will their time together after the "pass" see the two of them continue with what they started during the "pass"? Can they both have what they want and a HEA?
Pick up And So, We Fall and find out what their outcome is.

It is so enjoyable going back to Kitchi Falls and meeting up with the characters we have come to know. In this romance Natalie and Jaxon are on two opposite sides of the conservation fence, making it that much harder to avoid romantic entanglement when the sparks literally fly whenever they are in the same room. Jaxon has always been successful at getting what he wants, and although he tries to sweeten the deal when it comes to purchasing conservation land, Natalie digs her heels in and he finally discovers a woman who is not willing to succumb to his charms. Invited to attend his old buddy's wedding in Sicily, the attraction between Jaxon and Natalie spirals, but they both know that at the end of the weekend, they have to face the music and make a decision. Although heart-wrenching in parts the novel does come to a lovely conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I loved it. Their competitiveness with an inlet property, taking a pause to fulfill their desire for each other, and then again their stubbornness kept me going on for more.
I love the characters, Natalie, a strong and sweet woman, who fights for what she wants and Jaxon, an ex-army officer, he's hot for sure and he knows it. I love the small snippets with their friends, it was fun, and omg their steamy scenes made me blush so bad.
Their undeniable attraction to each other was the best, the way they kept on denying it until they realized they couldn't go on without each other.
Overall the book is amazing, I love Natalie and Jaxon's relationship and their romance. It was beautiful and I recommend it to everyone who wants to read a book filled with steamy moments and romance of the characters.

Okay, so this book is, like, seriously everything! Natalie, who's all about saving the environment and running her cute rowing program, clashes big time with Jaxon Hayes, this ex-Army Ranger dude with a major ego and zero love for nature. Their banter? Total fireworks!

From canoe disasters to unexpected encounters in Sicily (hello, romantic!), their journey from enemies to lovers is like, totally swoon-worthy. Bella Michaels serves up a story that's not just about love, but about growing up, finding common ground, and discovering what really matters.

If you dig small-town charm, snappy dialogue, and a romance that keeps you hooked, "And So, We Fall" is totally your next must-read!

I'd like to express my gratitude for having received an online copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

OMG this book was so amazing Natalie and Jaxson love story. It was a page turner and the suspense was sexual intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down. It was addicted and I was hooked and I loved these two characters. They were enemies but Jaxson wanted to be more just friends with Natalie. It was a lot of steamy lust of romance with these two with that sexual tension and the chemistry was sizzling and intimacy. Was this love between them because he was so intrigued with her and more. But this was battle of who was going to win when they say opposites attracted. I highly recommend this book and you won't been disappointed. Oh man, this one will make you want to scream in maybe and good and bad way. Jaxon Hayes comes to Kitchi Falls for one reason and one reason only to purchase land and sell it off to the highest bidder. What he doesn't expect is someone from his past one of his good friends. Jax is an ex-Army Ranger and knows what it is to be in the trenches. When he meets the pixie girl Natalie well he can't help but get under her skin. Natalie loves nature and her life and job. She wants to make sure the Rowing program is a success what she doesn't need is the arrogant Jaxson. These two will fight, love, fight, and then love again. But when it comes down to it who will win the Marsh and who will lose their hearts? Loved this story.

An enemies to lovers where he falls first.

Natalie loves the environment and has dedicated her life to protecting it. Jax has spent years buying and selling protected land for development purposes. They butt heads immediately. But the attraction is undeniable. But it's a battle to see past their differences to find their way to each other.

While the enemies to lovers trope is done exceptionally well, I felt that the ending was a little rushed. I'm happy with the way it ended, it just felt like they overcame their differences suddenly. Still, it's a great story and watching him fall first is always a treat.

I absolutely love the Kitchi Falls series. And So, We Fall is no different.

Natalie is a conservationist with a deep connection to a local inlet where she runs a rowing program and hangs out with her friends. Jaxon ("Jax") is a friend of some locals and makes a profit purchasing land and reselling it. He plans for his next acquisition to be the inlet, but when he meets Natalie his plans go awry. Throw in a steamy bet, a handful of "passes," a trip to Sicily for a wedding, and these two apparent enemies find themselves in quite the pickle. The push and pull between Natalie and Jax is everything.

Jaxon and Natalie are now officially my favorite in Kitchi Falls! This former Army Ranger may seem tuff but put a sweet and sassy nature conservationist in his sights who has strong convictions and an iron will and well you'll find he's not so tough anymore.
Plus Bella Michaels takes me to vacation in the place of dreams almost Everytime I pick up one of her books. We get to travel back to Italy for a wedding, and Jax and Nat finally got to let go and relax and just be. It was everything you want for them. But it's only a vacation and they have to go back to Kitchi Falls.
This enemies to friends to lovers story has a little something for everyone.

A delightful small-town romance that will have you hooked from the first page.
Dual POV, well written, with fleshed out characters, good banter and shenanigans, rooftop chemistry, and a good plot.
Natalie is a nature conservationist who runs rowing classes in a little cove of protected land. Jaxon is a former Army Ranger now land developer who's interest in her cove. They clash the minute they realized the others interest on the land but serendipity has them running into each other.
Who'll be the winner of their match of wills?

I have loved spending time in Kitchi Falls and I loved reading Jaxon and Natalie’s story. All the characters in this series are so loveable and the stories are all so much fun. Natalie and Jaxon are from two different worlds and both want different things from life but when they meet the sparks are flying crazily and the chemistry will blow your mind. A great book by Bella Michaels that has got some very steamy moments and some fun times with all the characters. Hope there is more to come!

With each book I read from Miss Michaels, I become a bigger fan of hers.
Jax and Natalie stand on opposites sides. She wants to preserve the land she uses for her lessons and for some time with her friends, but Jax wants that land for other intentions. So, they fight and bicker. But they both do it with their hearts in the right place. And maybe those hearts know they belong together. But can they make it work?
I fell in love with Kitchi Falls, I love the entire series. And very excited to see what Miss Michaels will bring next.

Delightful Kitchi Falls Romance!!

Natalie is a conservationist working for the Finger Lakes Land Trust. Jax Hayes is an ex-ranger who has a wealth model built on purchasing “protected” properties. These two are on opposite sides of the fence even while sparks ignite.

Small town friends and family. A risky bet, a wedding in Sicily, and adapting to ensure you get the thing you want most in life. Romantic, witty and thoroughly enjoyable.

This is the third book in Kitichi Falls Series, but can be read as a standalone. There are interconnecting characters, so you will gain a lot by reading the other books in the series. You'll love Natalie and Jax's story as you watch these opposites fall in love with each other. He's a real estate developer and ex-ranger. She's an environmentalist who is against development. The characters are great, and their chemistry is off the charts. Plenty of drama, angst and no shortage of steam. I read an arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

Ans So, We Fall

The resounding romantic back and forth between Jax and Natalie was a hoot. Everyone around them could see what was happening but not these two!!Talk about two hardheaded determined people who know that in the end, they will both have to give a bit. They are fighting over the sale of protected land. Natalie does not want to loose her inlet where her business is located. Jax will have to come up with with a super plan to appease Natalie. This Army Ranger dude is in for quite a workout!! Fun read !!!!!!!

This is a lovely story semi enemies to lovers. Natalie works in land conservation and Jax buys land that is protected in order to resale it. They are both very passionate about their work. Jax came into town to buy a piece of land that Natalie is very attached to. This is the start of a small feud. There story is full of flirty banter as they begin to figure out that the attraction they have for one another is stronger than the difference of opinion when it comes to the land deal. You do not want to miss their story. It will have you swooning and wanting more.

From Jaxon to Jax
I am absolutely in love with this side of Natalie. I enjoyed watching Jax being able to rile her up and struggle to navigate his way to her good side when to the rest of the world she is the sweetest one of the group. I admired her resilience and sticking to what was true in her heart despite all the outside pressure. Jax was certainly swoon worthy and something about him making a habit of pulling her onto the dance floor made me weak in the knees.

Steamy, small-town romance. Third in the series and I have enjoyed every one of them. I’m not sure if this was the end of the series or not, but one way or another I am really hoping we get to hear more about Mason…. Because holy hotness, I am intrigued.

Great book!
Natalie runs a community rowing program on a piece of land and ex Ranger, now property developer Jaxon comes to town to buy her land.
Needless to say that they are at logger Heads from the start but poor old Natalie can't stop herself for falling for him.
The dialogue is fiesty and the plot is rich and interesting.
This is well written and with characters that are engaging and an compelling plot.
Well done!!

I loved the back and forth between these two! So entertaining. I don't think I've ever seen so many "pauses" in a bet before!

Jaxon impressed me right from the start. He was a hot, straight up guy who never beat around the bush or hid any deep dark secrets about his intentions with the land or with Natalie.

These 2 clearly had chemistry that couldn't be denied.

Can we please get the recipe for the donuts?!
