It was a really cute book that can be used for bedtime reading, or in class with your students so you can help them get over their fears! After finally falling asleep after worrying so much, Splat went to bed and dreamt about being a hero. He realized that not all dreams are bad and he got over his fear of having bad dreams and now wanted to go to bed all the time! I would recommend reading this and doing a cute activity to help them see that they can always accomplish something that seems scary if they really want to!
Splat the Cat is a great book that can be related to all children as it deals with a fear all children are familiar with. This books does a great job of getting the attention of the reader by showing how Splat overcomes his fear of going to sleep and having bad dreams and will help children learn about ways to overcome their fears and anxieties. The illustrations of the book do a good job of relating to the story and grabbing the attention of the reader.
Splat the cat is a good book to read to help children over come a fear of bad dreams. Most children who have bad dreams don't like to sleep allow or go back to sleep. Splat the cat was the same way. sleepless nights until one night he fell asleep and dreamed about heroes which made him really happy and brave. So i would say this book is good for encouraging children that not all dreams are bad and their always a way to over come a bad dream just keep dreaming.
Splat the Cat is getting ready for bed, but he is worried about the nightmare where he doesn’t save the princess. But just maybe his dreams could be different. Not a bad story, but to be honest I think the Splat stories written by the original stories are better than the ones based off the TV show.
It's bed time, and Splat the Cat is preparing to get ready for bed. After being read three bedtime stories, Splat the Cat is worried and can't get to sleep. Will Spat the Cat ever get to sleep to finish his dream from the night before, or will he remain worried all night?
The character in this book doesn't want to fall asleep because he might have a nightmare. Children can discuss if they ever had bad dreams before. They can discuss how the dreams made them feel. They can also talk about how it's just a dream and that what happens in it won't hurt them.
This book is excellent for children who are having bad dreams or are fearful of them. I enjoyed how it showed the parents losing sleep because of Splat's fear and how you can have really good dreams too. The illustrations are cute and a little silly, but they do add to the humor of the story.
Adorable. Splat is scared of the dark. Many children can relate to being scared of his dreams. MAny children can relate to having nightmares and being scared sleeping because of it. It connects to the children and it shows them, that nightmares aren't forever and good dreams will come.
I liked this book because Splat was scared. He finally conquered his fears and fell asleep. I liked it most because us as people can relate by being afraid of things and conquering that fear.
This was a fun story. Great illustrations and cute characters. This story is great for bed time and to talk about going to sleep, being afraid of the dark and bad dreams.
Splat the cat is getting ready for bed. He brushes his teeth and combs out his whiskers and then his Mom will read him THREE stories. His favorite ones have brave characters going on adventures! When the stories are done, its time for sleep. He gets tucked in, gets a kiss on the head and then he drifts off to.. wait. He can't fall asleep! The last time he did he had a bad dream where he was the Hero and the bad guy won. Mom! Dad! Will you check for monsters? Can I have something to drink? Splat tries his best to stay up but he soon falls asleep to have a good dream where he beats the bad guy.
Activity: Talk about dreams and how bad ones never win. Just like the bad guys. Have the kids draw pictures of Splat the Cat doing heroic/brave things.

Splat the Cat is becoming a favorite character for my 2 year old granddaughter and I. He's always getting into adventure and figuring out a happy ending! In this one he gets ready for bed with his books but he doesn't want to go to sleep because the night before he had a BAD dream. So he does everything he knows to do to stay awake but finally drifts off to sleep and the next morning he can't wait to go to bed that next night to continue his GOOD dream! What a wonderful story to help children know that a bad dream doesn't have to be every night...
Splat dreams of rescuing the fair princess from the evil King Spike. But, in his dreams, he falls short. So, he runs his poor parents ragged with incessant excuses to stay away.
