Child of the Veil #3

Mazikeen: Queen of Fate

Rate this book
How far will Mazikeen go, in search of vengeance? Will she become a God, or something much worse? Will Prince Daemon ever remember his mate?

"I did not know how to be a Queen. How to live up to my parent's legacies. But I did know how to be the assassin. How to be the Reaper. Sliding into her skin was easy. Almost too easy. "

"Rhapsody's conquest may have been blessed by the moon, but tonight— I am not."

In this fast paced conclusion to the trilogy, Mazikeen climbs new heights and strays in the darkness more than we've ever seen. She will become everything she is foretold to be, everything the Fae fear, before she becomes their Queen.

I am an avid reader of all things magical, fantastical and everything in between. Somewhere between imagining I was the feisty main characters I read about, and dreaming up scenarios where things went differently than they did on paper I decided to create my own stories. Now that I have breathed life into a world, universe of my own I have a much bigger appreciation for all of the stories I read and loved along the way.

When I'm not writing, I am a wife and mom to two beautiful girls, and spend my days in between the trees of New York with my dogs daydreaming about the possibility of a magical world.

Wow. What an epic ending to a fantastic trilogy.

Spoiler free book review. Check out my Reading Ranting page for more reviews.
Disclaimer: I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Good thoughts…
I love that we get a different side of Maz, a side we knew existed but haven’t seen much of.
We get a lot of answers along with how Maz processes them. It makes for a well-rounded character.
The spice… oh the spice. There are some new additions… no spoilers, but it was so much fun to read.

Not good thoughts…
Despite this being an amazing book, I felt the climactic scenes were a bit too soon. I might have been more emotional if that came later, and what happened after was shorter. But that’s just my opinion and didn’t lose a star because the rest was so good.

Random thoughts…
I might be bias, but a book witt scaly shifters and vampires will always get my attention.

Final thoughts...
I’m so glad I to have read this book and follow Mazikeen on her journey. I hope to read more from the author in the future.

What a way to end the series!!

Mazikeen was unstoppable and I’m happy that we were able to follow for her getting her happiness.

She was brutal and I loved it just as much as Dameon did 🤭

I highly recommend this trilogy and the audiobook version 😉

Queen indeed

This series captured my imagination with a beautiful blend of the modern human world and the magical world with gods, shifters, primordials and Fae in one great series.

I love this ending for the series. Love that Maz got to exact revenge on those who hurt her beloved ones. Love that Daemon was there even if it took him a couple of days to remember her. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Loved that the gods gifted her with so much and even though she did bring back Dels from the pit she didn't let her new status get the better of her or Daemon. Love that they were open to have Ezra share the spicy times....and man I would love to feel Daemon's chaos magic all over or have Ezra ability to intensify feelings. Makes me a total puddle 🫠😈🔥

I do wish we had better closure for Vee. Also Dels and Vali are they mates? Do they end up together?
Either way I totally enjoyed this series and definitely recommend it.

Hi. It’s me. Once again telling you that if he isn’t a fae chaos daddy that can’t conjure pizza and cheesecake at the snap of his finger then I don’t want it.

Queen of Fate is the final book in the Child of the Veil series. I’m happy sad about it because I wouldn’t have wanted it to end any other way than the way it did but I want, dare I say need more Maz and Daemon.

It’s hard to give you a summary of this book without ruining the plot. So just trust me that if you like modernized fantasy with chaos daddy spice then this series is for you!

If you haven’t read this series yet, then what are you still doing here? Go get it!!

What a fantastic end to an awesome story! I felt like book three in this series really wrapped up everything we've been listening to in the previous books. I found this book to be a bit more engaging than book 2 (sorry middle book syndrome. It's not you, it's me) because it brought back a lot of the energy/vibes that we got in book 1.

Mazikeen is still a boss babe who I will love until the end of time and I'm so happy her story ended in the way it did.

Once again, the narrator brought all the characters to life with an outstanding performance. The layered audio, the fantasy language, just *chef's kiss* Great work!!!

I'm not going to say too much about this book, because if I do I feel like I may give away the plot lol.

I'm sad to see this story come to an end, but when I say be prepared for your tissues with this book, please heed this warning. I was not given one and I deeply regret not keeping tissues by my side while reading this.
