All he wants for Christmas is her. Dave Richardson's life hasn't turned out the way he thought it would. He never expected to slink back to his hometown of Rochester two years ago and take a bartending job, nor did he expect he'd still be tending said bar. Everyone thought he would achieve great things. Hell, he'd believed he would achieve great things. But when Vivian Walters walked into his bar, wearing that dress, on a random Wednesday night . . . things were looking up for the first time in a long time. And they looked even better when he got her number, even if it was obvious she didn't see things between them lasting beyond her night out on Sunday. If he wanted to keep a woman like her, he'd need to become the man he was supposed to be, and fast. If there was one thing Vivian "V" Walters liked almost as much as designer heels, it was checklists. They'd served her well her entire life- first with college, then med school, landing the perfect internship followed by an even better residency, and, finally, her dream job. So far, her checklist for the perfect man hadn't panned out the same way. But that didn't mean she would lose her ever-loving mind and chuck it all out the window for a hot, sweaty weekend with a bartender . . . right? No matter how good he looked in those worn jeans, or how his blond hair curled just so at the nape of his neck, or the way his deep-brown gaze made her stomach somersault. And even if she gave in to her purely physical attraction to him, it wouldn't be anything other than a fling . . . would it?
"Almost Perfect" by E.F. Dodd is a minimal angst, high-spice holiday-time insta-love romance story featuring two pretty great main characters. I typically don't like the insta-love trope, but I think it works here because both V and Dave feel like they do belong together. I loved the chemistry between them. I loved their easy joking camaraderie, their sizzling steamy scenes, and their quick but believable heartfelt adoration for one another. Unfortunately, it feels like the story peters out at around the 65ish% mark and drags for the rest of it. I found the final miscommunication and third-act kerfuffle to be pretty silly, unnecessary, and unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Still, this book reads quickly, so it wasn't horrible to finish. I do think the cover is a bit misleading, which will turn some readers off of this book altogether. While this story does take place between Halloween and Christmas, I wouldn't necessarily call this a Christmas book. Still, I had a good time reading this book. Can't wait to see what E.F. Dodd does next!
Thank you to NetGalley, Sugar Beaver Books, and E.F. Dodd for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book is a super easy read. Simple, spicy romance between an unlikely couple. V is a doctor from Charlotte while Dave is a bartender from Rochester. They meet while V is on vacation with her two best friends and the story goes from there.
However, the storyline isn’t grabbing and unique. There wasn’t really anything to get you to really fall in love with the characters. They don’t really spend the time getting to know each other between the spicy scenes. The whole thing felt rather superficial. I also anticipated much more of a Christmas theme as advertised instead of the last 10% of the book or so.
I struggled to finish this book because there wasn’t anything that really drew me in and there’s only so many times you can read about his job and her mom’s approval.
I have a big smile on my face after finishing and I’m giving this book a big hug! I’m in my happy place. Great read. I loved the romance and intimacy between these two. From the very first minute they had chemistry. The kisses, touches and breath taking moments were swoon worthy. There is nothing better than being able to feel and see the chemistry. The author brought a wonderful, satisfying romance that I just didn’t want to end. What was special was how absolutely crazy they were about each other. Dave was everything I want to see in a relationship and he was scared yes, but always told V how much he wanted her. **Sigh** I Loved it! Thanks Sugar Beaver Books via NetGalley.
I loved this omg??? I’d never read anything by this author before, but I may have to check out their backlog because I really enjoyed this.
Thank you so much to netgalley and E.F. Dodd for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I appreciate so much that this was dual pov! It was so fun to see how infatuated these two are with each other. It’s clear that their meeting was only meant to be a one night stand situation, however, these two can’t get enough and want to spend every second they have together in the same city - they want to learn everything about the other person and it’s so sweet to read. Their relationship is positive and uplifting, they’re always encouraging of each other to go after what they want in terms of their careers and relationships, they only want the best for each of them.
This was a quick, lighthearted read and I think it was a good fit for the holiday season. It’s really sweet, it’ll definitely make you smile!
I enjoyed "A Higher Standard" by this author, so I figured this book would also be great. The Christmas cover also drew me to it. But Christmas plays no part in the book until the very end where there's a scene close to Christmas, so the cover is VERY misleading and not really a holiday romance. Despite that, this book was just okay for me. It honestly took me forever to read and was a bit boring. It just kept dragging because nothing was really happening with the plot. Dave and Vivian live in different states so most of the book focuses on their long distance relationship. I had a kinda long-distance once with my husband (2.5 hours apart), so I appreciate that the author wrote a book that involved one. But outside of the chemistry in the bedroom, I just wasn't feeling the love between these characters.
I did like Dave and how cute and vulnerable he was oftentimes. He was pretty insecure when it came to his job, so I get why he didn't tell Viv he was looking for another job. But she completely blew things way out of proportion and that just made me dislike her even more. She was a nice enough character, but I didn't like how she treated Dave's job. She knew what job he had when they met and she voiced how he could be doing something more productive with his life. So I didn't get her being so mad at him for holding in his search when he didn't want to disappoint her. Even her friends told her she was being an idiot.
The ending of the book was the biggest letdown. They make up, Dave makes some weird public profession of his regret for being an idiot and expressed his love for Vivian. And that was it. No epilogue to show how things worked for them after he noted he was getting a job closer to her in the coming months. No resolution with the bar job he hated. No life actually living together. It was just a very boring ending with nothing to make reading this book worth it.
That said, I'll still read more from the author because I know the last book I read really was great and even though this one was a letdown, I know the author can do better.
thank you netgalley for the ARC of almost perfect in exchange for an honest review.
i don’t typically gravitate towards this kind of romance, but i decided to give this one a shot. it wasn’t an immediate love for me, nor did i ever find myself in love or captivated with this story. i don’t feel like the characters were really even in love & it started with such a strong sexual connection that it felt almost forced.
i am also NOT a fan of the third act break up & felt as if this one was way over dramatized.
i also feel like the cover was a tad misleading, could just be me.
Dave is the book boyfriend, and real life boyfriend everyone needs. And Vivian is the kind of character you want to be friends with, get coffee or drinks with… They’re both beautifully written and relatable. I loved their chemistry and the way the author handled consent in a very real but sexy way.
Thanks to Netgally for giving me early access to an ARC in exchange of an honest review! DNF at like 1%, the writing was bad and i thought it was a sweet fluffy hallmark type christmas book 😭 when i searched abt it i was disappointed to found out it was actually a spicy book, spicy books are not for me. I HATE spicy books with all my heart lol. So i couldn’t bring myself to read it 🫠
#FirstLine - Dave stared down the pile of receipts, invoices, and other assorted scraps of paper with notes scrawled illegibly in the margins which Ryker—the new manager in name only—had left heaped together in a tangled mishmash of information.
Almost Perfect is a delightful read that reminds us that sometimes the most precious gifts in life come in unexpected packages. It's a story of love, growth, and the joy of embracing the unexpected. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a heartwarming romance with relatable characters and a touch of humor.
This was a cute book that had some steamy scenes between the main characters V or Doc and Dave. V is a pediatric psychiatrist on a girls weekend with her best friends when she meets Dave a bartender in the bar they are at. V has never been one for a one night stand or even a fling, but she feels you only live once and she takes the chance. It was only supposed to be the weekend, but turned into so much more.
My only complaint was I prefered V's full first name Vivian over the nickname V.
I received a free copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
DNF review at 12%. I am not feeling the vibes of the book. The use of the nickname 'V' also annoyed me from the start. And according to other reviews it has almost nothing to do with Christmas.
Thank you NetGalley for this ebook but it was not for me.
Happy Release Day to Almost Perfect by @e.f.dodd ❤️ I’ve had the privilege of seeing this story at a few different stages in the process of becoming the book it is today and I’ve loved it at every turn! This is the perfect romance to read to get you in the holiday spirit!
V (Vivian) meets Dave while on a girl’s trip to Rochester. We see this trip through Kez’s perspective in Risky Restoration and get to watch V and Dave’s love story unfold in the background of the first two books in the (Not) Looking for Love series. Almost Perfect is the full story of how they navigate from a one-night stand, to a long distance flirtation, to the couple we see in Earning It, the second book in the series. I knew before even reading their full story that it would be special!
I think one of my favorite aspects of this story is how realistic it is. Love stories don’t exist in a vacuum and this one highlights some of the things that people encounter in real relationships. Family acceptance, career challenges, differences in upbringing, long-distance struggles… V and Dave have to navigate all these things together and I loved watching them becoming stronger because of it. They both grew a lot throughout the story! As in the first two books of the series, the strong female characters and the friendship you see between V, Kez, and Rae is super refreshing. And the humor and banter is absolutely on point from start to finish! The long distance aspect gave E.F. Dodd the opportunity to use texts, emails, and even FaceTime (JUST WAIT for that scene 🥵) in a super creative way that I really enjoyed. And if you’re looking for spice, you will find it here in spades!
I think you’ll love Almost Perfect if you enjoy : ▫️Holiday-centered romance (Halloween through Christmas!) ▫️Third-person, dual POV ▫️Sweet, sensitive MMCs ▫️Strong female characters and friendships ▫️Great banter and many laugh-out-loud moments
Thank you to E.F. Dodd and publisher Sugar Beaver Books for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review! It’s out today in paperback and on Kindle Unlimited!
Vivian Walters has followed a carefully forged life plan: college, med school, internship, residency and is now a successful doctor with her own practice. The only thing missing, that her mother seems to never let her forget, is the perfect man. Vivian has a detailed list for what that man would look like to fit into her perfect life; however, none of the men who checked all the boxes ever seemed to click. On a weekend trip to Rochester, V's friends encourage her to hook up with an extremely hot bartender, Dave. Dave has been stuck in a holding pattern, working at Tonic since he got out of a negative work environment. He never expected anyone like V to walk into his life, but he's worried if he's good enough for her. When V's weekend trip runs a few days over, V and Dave decide to try long distance. Over the holiday season, V and Dave realize that they are falling for one another, but also know that they have to change to fit into each other's lives.
Almost Perfect is a sweet and sexy holiday romance. Vivian and Dave are both wonderful characters with great energy and a realistic insta-love connection. It was fun to watch V and Dave's relationship grow and change from what they expected to be a fun weekend to a full blown romance. The writing created a fast-paced story switching between V and Dave's perspectives with plenty of spicy scenes as well as relationship ups and downs. I enjoyed that V's relationship with her mother and her attitudes toward marriage was addressed in a healthy way that allowed V to move forward. Dave also had to come to terms with his role in the work force and what he wanted to do with his life. Together, V and Dave worked out trust issues and open communication for a happy ending.

Almost Perfect by E.F. Dodd is an excellent book for a cozy fall read. It's the third book in the (Not) Looking For Love series and follows the charming holiday romance between Dr. Vivian Walters (referred to as V) and Dave Richardson.
The story begins with V and her girlfriends enjoying a weekend getaway. V is a vibrant and intelligent woman who doesn't have time for a serious relationship but is open to having some fun. Dave, on the other hand, is a charming and handsome man who happens to be perfect for the task.
After a passion-filled weekend, V and Dave agree to maintain a long-distance "situationship." They keep in touch through phone calls, text messages, video chats, and occasional in-person visits that inevitably lead to them developing deeper feelings for each other. As their relationship progresses, they have to deal with the challenges of distance and the pressures of their respective careers.
V and Dave are adorable together! Their dating journey is full of frisky dialogue, humorous mishaps, and sizzling chemistry. The author does an awesome job of creating inviting and relatable characters. The story has minimal angst and drama making it a lighthearted and enjoyable love story.
I loved how this story made me feel; it brought back so many gitty and hopeful memories of when I met my husband. If you're looking for a delightful romance that will leave you smiling, Almost Perfect is definitely worth reading.
👥 Dual POV 📚 Can be read as a standalone 💋 Safe - V and Dave only have eyes for each other! ⚠️ Content Warning - profanity, explicit sex (no virgins), mental health awareness, classist attitude

Almost Perfect features a hard-working Doctor Vivian, also known as “V” or “Doc,” who goes to a small-town bar with friends and falls in lust with the local bartender, Dave. V has a life plan that includes marriage (for love) but to someone who should be a working professional. A bartender is not going to please her parents. But a much-needed weekend of fun between the sheets with the unbelievably gorgeous and skilled Dave is just what the doctor ordered. What do you get when you mix a Grace Kelly physician lookalike with a super-hot and hunky bartender? I’m glad you asked. You get a lot of action that, while supposedly only lasting a long weekend, turns to months of travel and longing. The story is steamy, but the chemistry is a bit weak. Almost Perfect is billed as a Christmas story, but it’s really from October to December, and the main point of crisis (there is always something) isn’t that big of a deal to me. But you can’t have makeup without a breakup. It is a decent premise but may need some fine-tuning next time. #romance #love #life #doctor #bartender #romcom #funfriends #societyGal #Rochester2Charlotte @netgalley #sugarbeaverbooks #AlmostPerfect 🥼

Dave has never expected to be back in his hometown, taking a bartending job. That's what he did, and that's what he's been doing for 2 years. Buy when, one night, Vivian walked into his bar, things definitely started looking up. But she is a pragmatic list-maker, and she does have a checklist for the perfect man, that Dave does not fit in at all. On top of that, she is only there for one week. Can she throw it all away for a steamy weekend fling? This is an insta lust, opposites attract, long distance relationship, spicy romance. It is marketed as a "cozy Holiday vibes romance", which I do not agree with. Although Halloween and Thanksgiving are considered Holidays, the cover screams Christmas, and December only happens in the last 50 pages and the book literally ends 5 days before Christmas, so that part was a bit disappointing because I am 100% a Christmas girlie. I thought the FMC was very stubborn and somewhat uptight. But I loved the MMC, Dave, and his golden retriever attitude. Of course, I was not a fan of the third act to break up, that was based on mostly lies, miscommunication and, frankly, overreaction. I would've liked to go more in depth with both the main characters and both of them together, their relationship. And even if I would've liked to see them together more in the book, it was fun to see how they dealt with this long distance relationship; the chemistry between them is real... I liked all of the side characters (at least all of the likable ones). Overall, it was a fun, entertaining, quick read! "I'm in simply because you are." I received an advance review copy of this book for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I received a copy of Almost Perfect through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
What Almost Perfect does well, our leads have solid chemistry, understand each other's jokes, and appreciate each other's faults and reservations. Our female lead V is a doctor who helps troubled youth, and Dave, our male lead is smitten from first interaction when she's on vacation with her friends in Rochester. Dave and V have a cute relationship, and the story follows them as they navigate a weekend that turns into a long distance relationship.
The pitfalls; there's nothing that really separates Almost Perfect or the cast from any other romance book or series currently on the market. Every character in the book is white and conventionally attractive. The main character's friend group is the likely trio, the shy but big hearted lead, one logical and intellectual friend, and the overly sexual firecracker that harbors an emotional relationship past that the friend group isn't privy to.
Dave is just a regular male lead, nothing brings him apart from other romance leads, and the love scenes are ~spicy~ but don't reinvent the wheel. The "conflict" of the story really isn't a conflict, and there was so much more room to flesh out Vi's life as a doctor and Dave's past, especially if the whole course of this story happens in 3 months.
First off, this ARC was provided by the publisher & author via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
Honestly, I read about 15% of the book and had to pause, and read a couple of other books and came back to it. Since it was ARC, I did feel like I needed to give it a good shot, and it wasn’t until maybe halfway through the book before it got more interesting for me. This is why I’m giving it a 3.5 star.
Dave was a hottie from the beginning, I really did enjoy his character, and I get that V (Vivian) is supposed to be this straight laced woman and sure, i think the first 50% was supposed to built up this angst and slow burn…. But it was more of a fizzle for me and I personally didn’t feel that angst. I was rather annoyed with V in the beginning.
However, once they Finally became a couple, that’s when the story picked up for me. The open door scenes were 🔥🔥🔥 🔥🔥 and I really appreciated the author’s depiction of long distance relationships and the struggles that come with it. The ending was written REALLY well, and Im not spoiling it for anyone.
This is my first time reading a book by this author, and Just because it wasn’t ‘perfect’ 😉 for me, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a try.
This was my first experience reading something by this author. It was a fast-paced and easy read, perfect for the holidays. Vivian is a doctor who comes into town with her friends on vacation and walks into the bar that Dave tends and pretty much takes his breath away. Vivian was the type of person who had a plan and made lists and like to check things off that list. Dave was back in his hometown tending a bar, and wasn't where he wanted to be at this point in life. But when he meets Vivian, he knows things have to change if he wants to be with a girl like her. But Vivian is here to have fun while on vacation, not expecting a permanent relationship. However, as she spends more time with Dave, she is not sure anymore that this thing between is only just a fling. The characters were nicely crafted and entertaining and the chemistry between them was undeniable. This was a delightful, lighthearted read and I had a nice time reading it. I was, however, a little disappointed there wasn't an epilogue. I usually look forward to seeing a glimpse into the characters' future after the story has ended, and I didn't get that opportunity here. Other than that, it was an enjoyable and entertaining story. I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This story is the last of the "Not Looking for Love " series about a trio of friends that play close, intricate parts in each others lives. I've read Kez's "Risky Restoration" and Rae's "Earning it" and while this one is not as enthralling as the others, it was still an engrossing read. Viv or V as she is commonly known is a celebrated pediatrician who has not realized her self-worth based on the misconceptions between her and her family, so she is shy to stand up for herself and take and say what she wants. Dave is a bartender who is really a professional who has fallen into a slump he seems unable to emerge from. Dave and V share similar traits that would make it almost impossible to believe that a connection would flourish between them. It is these qualities plus their lack of self-awareness, that attracts them to each other. while delaying the formalization of their relationship.Once they both opened up about their true feelings, along with Kez's gentle advice, Rae's abrasive intrusions and recognizing the impact outside influences make on their choices, they are able to move forward in realizing what they truly need in their lives. The author continues to whip up engaging reads with happy endings. Netgalley provided this ARC for my fair and honest review.
Almost Perfect is a fast paced, easy to read, spicy feelgood holiday book.
I say holiday an not Christmas because the story follows Dave and Vivian and their relationship over a fair share of holidays. We see two people who fell in love and both have to overcome their own insecurities whilst battling the struggle that is long distance. V. is a doctor, She has achieved all she ever wanted in life from college, to med school and residency to her job. Dave"s life on the other hand did not turn out the way he wanted it to. That was until V walked into his bar.
The chemistry between these two was undeniable form the beginning. This book has amazing banter, some great heart-felt moments and realistic characters you can't help but love. I personally had to adjust to the writing style since 3rd person writing usually isn't quite my speed but this book is the exception to the rule.
A swoon worthy romance that is a quick read (yes I finished this one in a day) and makes you wish for a love like these two have. I have grinned, cursed but mostly enjoyed this read.
I recieved this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Although the cover is charming, and the title is good, I didn’t fully know what to expect from this book, as I had never read one from this author before. I thought it was going to be a more basic Hallmark style romance, based on some of the things I read about it. But it actually was a little bit more than that. I don’t read too many books that start off with the point of view from the male perspective. So, that was a welcomed change. A bit abrupt in the way the story gets straight into the spark of romance side of it, but I actually liked that as well. I do like an instant chemistry romance over a slow burn, etc. So this book was for me! I think this book would do well brought to film in some way. There wasn’t a lot of depth to the story though, so I couldn’t give it a full five stars, but I would definitely recommend it. And I would read more by this author, loved the pacing and the writing style.
Thank you to author, EF Dodd, NetGalley and Sugar Beaver Books for the opportunity to read this book in advance of it being released.
Almost Perfect is an irresistible blend of charm, heat, and emotional honesty. E.F. Dodd brilliantly captures two people from completely different worlds who find themselves drawn together in ways neither planned but both needed more than they realized.
Dave is such a refreshing hero: flawed, self-aware, and determined to rise into the best version of himself. His quiet vulnerability, mixed with his genuine desire to be worthy of someone like V, makes him incredibly compelling. And V’s character shines with ambition, sharp wit, and a carefully structured life that starts to unravel the moment attraction meets possibility.
Their chemistry is undeniable, but what makes the story stand out are the deeper themes woven beneath the swoon-worthy moments identity, expectations, self-worth, and daring to want something more. The tension between “just a fling” and the fear of something real adds emotional depth that keeps you rooting for them all the way through.
A delightful, sexy, and heartwarming holiday love story.
First of all, this book has NOTHING to do with Christmas. It was set around Christmas in the last few chapters. And it still didn't matter.
The main characters have no real connection. It's very insta-love. They barely speak to each other and when they do its boring. They're never alone when they're together because it's always a holiday. When they are alone, they have sex were they talk way to much. How am I supposed to go off just that and believe that they feel in love and have a strong connection? Over text???
The 3rd act breakup was a bit dramatic. Like, it all being her just being upset that he didn’t tell her about applying to jobs to the equivalent of not loving her is the stupidest thing.
HER FRIENDS LITERALLY TOLD HER SHE WAS NOT BEING FAIR AND STILL DIDN'T APOLOGIES TO HIM!
I was pretty much just ready to be over the book.
OH and, play a drinking game for how many times he says Doc.
V was in Rochester with girlfriends when she walked into a bar and saw Dave for the first time. She was only supposed to be away from Wednesday-Sunday, but all plans changed once Dave got her number. They flirted for a bit at the bar, and then spent the rest of her stay together. Vivian had already changed her flight twice, she had to get back home. V and Dave wanted more than just their long weekend. Could they make a long-distance relationship work? Even if they did make it work, her parents would never approve of Dave.
My thoughts: This was a super quick read and good from beginning to end. I loved the main characters and felt bad for Dave in his work situation. I thought V was a great strong character that didn’t ignore her needs or wants for whatever Dave needed. V had always experienced success in everything she did, Dave never did. He was smart and went to a prestigious school but had never experienced career success. The characters are relatable, and their chemistry cannot be ignored. The only question is can sparks last forever in this opposites attract romance.
I really thought i was enjoying this book in the early chapters. But it makes me so sad saying that i couldn’t even finish it!
However, i must say that this is NOT a BAD book. it just doesn’t work for me.
The characters have chemistry, there’s tension, there’s a plot. But there is nothing that keeps you in. Nothing that makes you WANT to keep reading. The characters seem nice but i couldn’t really connect with them as they didn’t get to know eachother before they hooked up.
The thing that pissed me off the most is that this book has no Christmas theme till like, at least 60% of the book because that’s where i stopped reading it. The cover makes you feel like this book will be warm, full of holiday spirit and cheer and SNOW but its got nothing :(
It’s also in third person point of view and felt dragged to me. However you could enjoy Dave and Doc and their story so I’d suggest giving it a shot <3
Almost Perfect is not the type of romance that appeals to me. The story revolves mainly around the immediate and intense sexual attraction/connection between the main characters V and Dave. Other than this, they seem to have no mutual interests and little else in common. There were pages and pages of detailed erotic encounters. Most of the conversations between the story characters were either boring, did little to promote the 'plot' or raunchy discussions about the sexual encounters. I never really got a sense of place or a real sense of either character's occupation even though this was elemental to the story.
For readers who enjoy this type of romance story, Almost Perfect is an easy read and there is good attention to detail in that respect. Thank you NetGalley and E F Dodd for the opportunity to read Almost Perfect in exchange for a review.
Do NOT let this cutesy cover fool you, this book is sugar and spice and everything nice! Doctor Vivian and bartender Dave seemingly have nothing in common, but that doesn't stop them from falling for each other in this cute and spicy romance. Vivian thinks she is just going to have a quick fling with Dave but they just can't seem to get enough of each other. I like how they made the long distance part of their relationship work (Hello Face Time!!) and I loved the moments they were together in person. He googles flowers to pick ones she would like (If he wanted to he would, gals!). I do love Dave's character growth and how they end up working out their relationship in the end.
This was my first book by EF Dodd and I'm happy to say it won't be my last.
Thank you NetGalley and EF Dodd for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I received a free eBook on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was so cozy, heartwarming and romantic – with just the right amount of spice. I loved how Vivian and Dave seemed to have nothing in common but still turned out to be such a beautiful match. Their dynamic and chemistry were amazing and watching them fall in love gave me all the butterflies and feelings. What made me adore this book was how they treated each other. Yes, there's some conflict in the third act but aside from that they communicate so well! Vivian and Dave act like the grown-ups they are, respecting and encouraging each other every day – even during their conflict! Also Daves family is so adorable! The Thanksgiving scenes made me feel so at home! It was great to see how welcoming and happy they were! Would definitely recommend this to all romance lovers who crave something healthy and heartwarming!
Don’t let this innocent cover fool you. This was one spicy holiday romance! We got V and Dave for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. First of all, V and Dave are the definition of opposites attract. They are drawn to each other from the start and honestly I just loved them. V being an over-thinker was her one downfall and Dave not wanting to fail had my heart breaking for him. He is an incredible man though. Their chemistry was off the charts.
How can you not fall for a love story set around the holidays? Maybe the one tough spot for this one was the long distance relationship aspect but it didn’t take away from the characters stories. I was hooked from Dave and V first seeing each other in the bar. I binged this book especially when the spice kicks in so quickly. I really really enjoyed this one and if you want a perfectly spicy, holiday romance then this one is for you!
