The Silver Seamripper

Rate this book
A year has passed since Dashi narrowly escaped the khan’s race with her life and reunited with her sister, Idree.

Now all Dashi wants is to lead a quiet life, but the revelation that her family is the stuff of Purek legend continues to bring dangerous attention.

When Idree goes missing, Dashi has no choice but to follow her sister’s trail…even if it leads back to her homeland and a city rife with enemies. Balancing uncertain alliances and the dangers of discovery, she must infiltrate the khan’s stronghold and free her sister.

Dashi’s past is never far away, and as her misdeeds catch up with her, there is more at stake than Idree’s freedom. With her life on the line, Dashi realizes that to free Idree she must once again brave the taiga and the traps left by the ancient Pureks. This time her goal is to find the seamripper, the mythical artifact that can counter the golden needle and stop the khan’s growing power.

This tale takes place a year after the conclusion of the first volume, and starts out a bit slow because the first volume ended on such a high note. It takes a little time to get up to speed. When it does, however, it’s off to the races so to speak!

The third and final volume is a direct continuation of the second, and I’m eager to find out how everything concludes!

I loved it! Sometimes a sequel or second book just isn't as gripping as the first but The Silver Seamripper did not disappoint! It further developed the characters while still keeping me entranced in the setting that I found so absorbing in the first book. I have recommended it to all my reading friends.

The second in the trilogy. This book has just as much adventure, love and twists as the first. Now the reader is more intimate and connected with the characters so every chapter is devoured quicker! This author proves to be one of the best in the fantasy genre.

Usually, the second book in a trilogy is fairly uneventful, except for helping set up the climactic third and final installment. Not so with this series. Tense action. Character development. World building. And an, "Oh, no!!" at the end.

This was just as suspenseful as the first book - lots of twists and turns. Couldn't put it down!

This amazing author continues with her well-developed world replete with exceptional depictions of landscape, and characters with their own customs and traditions.
An exciting series by a new author.
