Finding You #3

You're So Basic

Rate this book
It’s harder to run from love when you’re living with it.

Danny

I don’t want a new roommate.

I especially don’t want a new roommate who’s loud, mouthy, and so painfully hot I can’t keep my eyes off her.

Not that I’m interested in Mira Evans. She’s made it very clear that she agrees with the ex who famously broke up with me for being “too basic.”

But Mira breaks her ankle a few hours after moving in, and a couple of days later we're stuck in an elevator...in the dark.

Secrets are revealed; lines are crossed. Now, this woman I wanted to avoid knows more about me than some of my best friends.

Mira

I'm a workaholic who can't work, and staying cooped up inside is driving me crazy. Not to mention my no-good ex-boyfriend took Halloween a little too literally this year and paid a psychic to hex me.

I might not believe in magic, but I can't deny I feel like I've been hexed. I have a broken ankle, and I'm falling for my roommate, a man who seems as adventurous as a pumpkin spice latte served up in a hand-knit sweater.

But getting stuck in that elevator with Danny proved to me there's much more to him than there appears to be...and I'm not the only one who's noticed.

Maybe cabin fever has amped up my paranoia, but I get the feeling we're being watched.

This one is a must-read - it's a perfect blend of humor, heartbreak, and heartwarming moments that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

I recommend reading the others in this series first. Doing so will enhance your enjoyment of this one.

Danny has always been different. His ex called him “too basic”, but he is not at all. I enjoy his friend group’s acceptance and understanding of his personality and what he needs. While it's admirable that he sought to protect his sister, the agreement he entered into then has put him in a precarious situation now.

Mira enters his life like a hurricane, leaving no aspect of his peaceful world untouched. When he gives consent for her to live with him, his world tilts off-kilter. She possesses qualities he lacks, and he is unprepared for the magnetic attraction he feels towards her. I appreciate how these characters prioritize each other's well-being as they grow personally. Their connection sizzled with passion and excitement, making it impossible for me not to root for their happily ever after. This story was incredibly addictive, with mysteries that kept me hooked until the very end.

As always, Josie is both infuriatingly vague, flighty, and on point with this friend group!

I appreciate this author’s creativity and craftsmanship with these characters. This book and series is just as fun as her others, and I recommend reading more from her catalogue of works. IMO, it's worth every second of your time. I received a free ARC of this book and voluntarily leave my review. I am SUPER excited to see what comes next!!

You're So Basic is a wild ride! These two opposites attract in the best way and there's the added touch of suspense that kept me on my toes! Danny and Mira could not be more perfect together.

Mira discovers that Danny is in fact not basic. He's intense and loyal and sexy. He doesn't play games and speaks his mind, something they have in common. Danny instantly feels a pull toward Mira and finds himself sharing more of himself with her than he has with anyone else. The author does a fantastic job portraying the differences in their personalities and what makes them, them. Danny questions whether or not he's on the autism spectrum and it's written very well. I love how open he is with Mira. I also love how Mira doesn't try to change him and never makes him feel less than or like there's something wrong with him. They're both perfect as they are.

There's suspense and mystery around what Danny likes to do in his spare time. And everything comes together so perfectly! I couldn't read fast enough! I couldn't get enough of Danny and Mira.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

“You’re So Basic” is the third book in Angela Casella’s Finding You series, and it’s Danny and Mira’s grumpy/sunshine romance. And oh my gosh, I truly didn’t think this was possible, but Danny stole my heart and became my favorite Angela Casella hero in the process as well! He had quirks, yes, but a lot of his sensory issues, the things he worried about, and his thought process in general were something I could really relate to. He was also so swoony, I loved that he always tried to take care of Mira by doing little things to make her happy.

And I actually really loved Mira too! She was really sassy and snarky, and I know her independence is super important to her, but I loved the way she learned to not be annoyed by the fact that Danny wanted to take care of her, and instead basked in the glow of the realization that she didn’t have to do everything on her own anymore. I loved how she never saw Danny differently for his quirks, but instead fell in love with him because of them. All in all, this was a brilliant read, and I would recommend it to any fan of the opposites attract and/or forced proximity trope!

This is my new favorite book from Angela Casella and there’s nothing basic about it! I loved every single word of this amazing, sweet and fantastic story.

Danny and Mira are total opposite so them becoming roommates is going to be interesting. Nothing goes as planned but there are so many tender, sweet, freaking hilarious moments in this story - you will laugh, maybe tear up and love every word.

These two bring out the best and worst in each other…watching them become friends, partners, companions is amazing. There is the perfect amount of suspense that will keep you guessing.

Angela writes fantastic characters that are wonderful, cringy, interesting and intriguing. This is a stand alone but I recommend reading the other books in the series to get to know the other characters in this book.

I really enjoy Angela Casella’s RomCom books but I found that Danny and Mira’s story my favorite.
As in most of Angela’s RomCom’s, there is conflict, humor and truth. There are so many dysfunctional parents that produce insecure and self-doubting children who carry these into their adulthood. Angela uses these insecurities to develop believable characters who overcome and learn that they are acceptable and lovable. Your So Basic demonstrates the strength that being unique and being loved can accomplish. A great read.

My latest ARC book definitely kicks you in the feels. But 2.5 seconds later has you laughing so hard tears are flowing. Loved that there was a little mystery sprinkled in here and there. The opposites attract in this books was amazing, never in a million years would have seen that happen or working. I’m definitely excited to read the next book in Mira and Danny’s series as well as Ruthie and Shane’s story!

I thoroughly enjoyed the third installment of this series. I love a good opposites attract and this one did not disappoint. I love Mira and Danny’s journey. The old saying of how an extrovert adopts an introvert bodes well for this duo. Danny is an introvert after my own heart. Definitely worth the read and highly recommend the whole series!

You’re So Basic is the is the 3rd book in author Angela Casella’s “Finding Love” series which is a spinoff of her Fairy Godmother Agency series which is a spinoff of the Bad Luck series which is a spinoff of the Ashville Brewing series. In that series Drew who is close friends with the other four men (Burke, Leonard, Danny, Shane) who serve as the male protagonists in this series was introduced. Drew and Danny created a video game together that they are hoping to sell for big money. Unfortunately (IJMHO) the author pretty much does away with Drew and his love Andi by exiling them to Puerto Rico for most of this series. Mira our female protagonist in this book was first introduced as Delia’s older sister in “You’re So Extra” the first book in this series where Delia is paired with Burke. In that book Mira who owns and runs the nightclub Glitteratti is looking for a place to live having broken up with Bryson, her ex-boyfriend months earlier and has been stuck still living with him while he brings other women home. Danny has lived with Burke in Burke’s penthouse for the past ten years. With Burke moving out to live with Delia it opened up room for Mira to move in with Danny. This is an opposites attract, close proximity trope. Oddly one of the important secondary characters and the only one to survive, from way back in the Ashville Brewing series is Josie who has morphed from a hack fortune teller/tea room server to someone whom in this series has acquired some actual powers to see into the future.
Danny is an introvert whom with his uncomfortableness with crowds, loud noises and bright lights may be on the autism spectrum. His parents who are both alcoholics left Danny feeling like he’s a freak who doesn’t really fit in. Because of this he tends to behave and dress in clothes that make him fade into the background despite his 6’4” height. Eight years ago Daphne his then girlfriend whom he believed was perfect for him broke up with him telling him he’s so basic which is a millennial term for boring. Since then Danny has dated a little but grew tired with meaningless hookups and so has been pretty much celibate for awhile content to hang out in his apartment and socialize only with his close since childhood group of male friends and his younger sister Ruthie and her little girl Izzy. He works from home in a job he hates and does some hacking at night to help companies find holes in their online security systems.
Mira who also grew up with terrible parents and pretty much was a mother to her younger sister Delia, has worked her way up form managing bars in Ashville to eventually owning Glitteratti a successful nightclub which she designed and spends most of her non-sleeping hours running. As you’d expect Glitteratti like its owner is bright and loud. As Danny is helping Mira move into their apartment (despite her insistence she doesn’t need help) she drops a box on her foot breaking her ankle. She and Danny then get stuck in the apartment buildings elevator where despite their original impressions of one another ger very close. But Mira having just got out of a situation where she was forced to live with an ex-boyfriend insists she doesn’t want to repeat the mistake with Danny. But the more time she spends with Danny the more she comes to see past his façade to the heart of the man. What she discovers is a smart, caring, generous, self-deprecating man.
Much of this story is of course Danny and Mira falling in love. While they’re doing so they both worry over how different they both are and whether their new relationship can last once Mira’s ankle is healed enough to allow her to go back to her regular life. Mira worries she’s not smart enough to hold Danny’s interest. She worries that Daphne whom Danny is supposed to meet with because she now represents the company he’s trying to sell his game to, is a much better match for him. Danny worries he’s too boring and introverted to fit into Mria’s life. While this is going on Mira discovers a mysterious woman living in an apartment across the alley from their apartment watching her and a neighbor “Big Mike” who seems far to interested in being friends with them. They add some suspense and mystery to this book. Danny’s buddy Shane who is a lawyer and his sister Ruthie (who are the two protagonists in the next book in the series You’re So Vain, are important secondary characters in this story along with Delia and Shauna the female protagonists from the first two books in this series.
I guess the word “nice” is how I’d described this book. Wondering just how Danny and Mira would blend their very different lives once Mira went back to running Glitteratti was really what kept me reading it. Unfortunately, IMHO the author gave some foreshadowing but did very little to show us exactly how they work as a couple when that happens.

Mira and Danny have met but they’re not fans of one another. She’s loud, colorful and always in motion, all things Danny works hard to avoid. He prefers quiet and serenity and being alone, so he dreads having someone in his space, especially a boisterous someone like her. Danny’s ex called him basic when she dumped him, which wasn’t a shock since he seemed kind of bland and boring in the earlier books.

But once we get to know him, he’s not at all what I expected. His ex would’ve known that if she’d really gotten to know him, but she was too self-involved to bother. Mira wasn’t thrilled with this set-up either and went into this fully expecting to clash with her new roomie. Running her bar is her life so already knows they’ll have opposite schedules that will underscore how different they are from one another. Things start off terribly when she breaks her ankle right away, but the two quickly bond, realizing they have a lot more in common than they realized. Good thing they’re hitting it off because things are already super complicated thanks to her loser ex, the psychic with the crayon-drawn sign and a hex that may or may not be for real.

But Danny has secrets and a past that prevents him from moving forward, so things aren’t all sunshine and unicorns. He’s a slave to the world’s worst boss, has to deal with his awful ex in order to sell the game he and Drew created, and is being followed by a weirdo who probably steals hamsters. He doesn’t know exactly what’s going on, but he knows Mira shouldn’t be with him right now since it may not be safe. Too bad she refuses to leave.

I wasn’t all that excited about Danny’s story but he’s probably my favorite guy of the group now. He was sweet, funny and full of surprises. Mira is easy to love also with her larger-than-life personality and fearless determination to take care of the people she loves. Their story was a lot of fun to read and set up the next book so well. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Shane and Ruthie.

Danny doesn’t do well with change. Or anything that causes his senses to overload. And, he really doesn’t really want a new roommate that will cause all of the above.

Mira doesn’t want any kind of relationship since she’s just broken up with her loser ex. She especially doesn’t want to start anything with her roommate, potentially causing the same situation she just escaped from, especially since she broke her ankle and is basically trapped at home for the next few weeks.

But, when Mira and Danny find themselves stuck together in a broken elevator, everything shifts for both of them. He’s definitely not the boring “basic” guy she thought he was. And, she may have a bright and loud personality, but she somehow also soothes him in an unexpected way while also wanting him to take risks he would have never considered before.

Lines are crossed and secrets are revealed and Danny and Mira can’t help but to fall for one another. But, there is something else watching and waiting in the shadows that could end everything before this sweet opposites attract couple can see if they have what it takes to stay the distance.

Danny and Mira were such a surprise! Danny has been the quiet, calm and steady friend through this series. A bit nerdy. Always in control. But this book will have readers seeing him in a whole new light. I adored that it didn’t take Mira long to realize there was so much more to him than he let others see. And, Mira being forced to accept help and step back from her workaholic ways brought about a whole different type of adventure she never could have expected. They were the perfect foil to one another and I loved every page.

Readers will also see all of our favorite couples and characters, including psychic Josie the Great who is up to her usual shenanigans and oddly accurate predictions and a teaser of the next book’s couple, Shane and Ruthie.

I absolutely loved getting to know Danny and Mira and thoroughly enjoyed their very unexpected romance. 5 stars!

I’m loving this series so much!
Danny and Mira have captured my heart. If you are a fan of forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, fall vibes, found family, and cinnamon roll hero, this has all this perfectly wrapped in this amazing novel.

Danny is our introvert. He’s always been different since a young age. He has his routine. He enjoys his space and the quiet. He loves his serenity. He wasn’t expecting Mira to come in and shake up his life. His ex-gf called him basic and those words stuck to him for years after but Mira sees that he is anything but that.
But Danny does have secrets that can jeopardize everything.

Mira is more of our extrovert. She owns her bar, Glitterati, which is loud and colorful and everything that represents her personality. She already had her first impression of Danny but she knew there’s more to him. Now that they are roommates and an incident occurs that brought them closer in a way that is hard to just forget. Will they be able to realize they can blend perfectly well?
Or will they let each other go so they can find someone who matches their persona better?

The humor and the raw emotions kept me hooked from the beginning. These two get each other in a way they never thought was possible.
Just like Angela’s other books, this was brilliantly written and the storyline is beyond enjoyable and creative. With each book, there’s a conflict/mystery needing to be solved which keeps me on toes. I love seeing how it plays how in the end.

Don’t get me started on Josie the great. She’s a trip lol but always on point. Of course, I love seeing the previous couples and side characters (new/old) in this one. I can’t wait for book 4! Definitely recommend to read the series to get the whole experience of each couple. 🤩

Messy people and real love

This story had the perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, intrigue, and spice as seen through the eyes of two intense, strong and passionate characters. I loved the way Danny and Mira are portrayed in all their messy quirky humanness. The story gave me all the swoony swoons while also pulling at my heartstrings with all the emotions. I was feeling all the things while reading this one. Danny is a neurodivergent computer coder who has lived and worked in the same apartment rent free with one of his best friends for a decade. He is a quiet, regulated introvert. When his friend moves out to live with his fiancée, the fiancée’s sister, Mira, moves in. Mira owns and runs Glitterati, a loud, disco ball themed glitter covered bar. She is bright, loud, and chaotic. On the day Mira moves in, she falls down the stairs and breaks her ankle which requires surgery. This necessitates her to not work, stay off her foot, and basically stay in the apartment where Danny spends all of his time. This forced proximity of two complete opposites creates an incubator for sexual chemistry, allowing them to really “see” each other, and to form deeper connections between them. I loved the push pull between them, both fighting the inevitable, the references to Rear Window, the aching self-doubts, and the underlying subplots of intrigue. It was all combined into delicious perfection. As always with this author’s books, the story was imaginative, all the characters felt real, and it was so easy to get lost in this world. Plus Josie keeps popping up in this series - you have to love a book with Josie’s chaos in it. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

My favourite yet in this series.

I have to admit I wasn’t expecting too much from this book. Mira was a side character not really mentioned much in the previous couple of books – just the girl who happened to be Delia’s sister, nothing more. And Danny was just the somewhat boring roommate of Shane’s who also hadn’t had a lot written about him. It was kind of inevitable that one of the stories would be around him (being part of the group of 5 guys the series is based around, but I didn’t see the Mira connection coming until the very end of the previous book.

Neither was a character who had grabbed much of my attention before, so I really just didn’t know where it was going to go.

I was so wrong – this was the best one yet. Danny turned out to truly be a character with hidden depths and Mira was far more rounded than I originally thought. Angela Casella did a brilliant job of developing both them and their story.

Loved the mystery/suspense twists and how it all ended up. Still not sure where the author is going with Josie and Poe, but they do add something a little different to they story.

Am I glad I read it - yes
Was it a waste of my time - not at all
Would I sit down and read it all over again - yes, I could
Would I read more by this author based on this book - definitely – bring on the next book in this series already.

Danny was different from the other people in his group of friends, but they didn’t care about his quirks and only saw a man who was loyal to the bone and who would do anything for the people he loved so when his former roommate offered bar owner Mira the spare room in the apartment when she broke up with her boyfriend he agreed even though he knew he was going to struggle with her presence but he had no idea just how much she was going to turn his world on its head but in a good way. A previous girlfriend had called Danny basic, so I loved how Mira didn’t hesitate to accept Danny as he was warts and all, not attempting to change him. She knew right from the start there was nothing basic about him. I loved their slow burn romance as these two complete opposites gradually fell for each other but what I really enjoyed was the suspense element in this book. Who was the suspicious neighbour with a hamster that would’ve given Houdini a run for his money? Why did he seem so keen to spend time with Danny? Who was the mysterious woman across the way that had Mira envisaging she was in Rear Window? And most of all what else did Danny do in his spare time other than developing his game? All are answered and tied up with huge bow in this book making You’re So Basic the best book in the Finding You series so far.

Short Summary:

Mira owns Glitterati which is a loud, colorful, and glittery bar. She built it to a very successful business. Mira is moving into Lucas’ (his sister’s fiancé) condo and getting Danny as a roommate. They were going to make it work because they work opposite each other (him during the day and her at night), but she breaks her ankle. It forces her to be off her feet for two months and in the condo more than expected.

Danny is quiet and hates loud noises and crowds. He is a hacker who hacks into systems but then tells the business how he did it so they can fix the problem. Danny is not looking forward to having Mira as a roommate but since Lucas owns the condo and didn’t feel he could stop it.

Danny and Mira get stuck in the elevator one day and it changes everything between them.

My thoughts:

Once again, I really enjoyed Casella’s writing.

I enjoyed Mira and Danny’s story. Danny and his sister, Ruthie, believe he may be on the autistic spectrum. His character does represent what is considered high functioning autism. It was done in a respectful manner. I liked how Mira adjusted things to make sure Danny was comfortable without having to change herself.

So far in the Finding You Series , Leonard and Shauna’s book is my favorite. I look forward to the next book for Shane and Ruthie’s story.

Thank you to Literary Yours PR and Angella Casella for the complimentary copy.

I loved Danny. He was adorable, apparently on the autism spectrum, was incredibly smart, but he was vulnerable and didn't want to be noticed. He preferred to be alone and be in a quiet environment. It was hard not to notice the big quiet guy though in previous books though, so I was anxious for his story. He didn't disappoint.

I can't say I would have guessed he'd end up with Mira since they were complete opposites. She was loud, owned a loud bar, took up all his personal space and didn't think twice about it. I can understand why she would question how they could work in the real world because they were so different and her occupation was the exact environment that Danny didn't thrive in. But somehow it worked, at least from what we were actually shown in the end.

My only complaint is that I wanted to see more of how their future worked together as a couple now that things were 'normal.' I know we'll probably get more of them in the next book and really see how they're functioning as a couple without the threat of danger or broken ankles dictating their relationship.

The suspense was a nice addition, even if it still doesn't completely make sense to me for a local detective to be working on something that sounded like a fed thing. Unless he wasn't a local cop and was instead a fed? I still don't understand that whole thing.

You're So Basic is the third in the Finding You series, which are all interconnected standalones.
This is my first book from Angela and let me tell you... It was anything BUT basic!
Boy oh boy, I absolutely loved, loved, loved his book and didn't want it to end! It was a perfect blend of romcom with a dash of banter, wit and suspense.

Danny is an undiagnosed neurodivergent, and Mira becomes his new flatmate - the total complete opposite of him. A series of unfortunate incidents happens to Mira, including breaking her ankle hours after moving in and getting stuck in a lift with Danny. Little did they know, fate is already at play, bringing them both together in unexpected ways.

Throughout the story, Mira slowly starts to see the real Danny, who is sweet, fiercely loyal and protects those close to him. Mira accepts him for who he is, never "tries" to change him into someone else but rather gets him to embrace it. I totally loved them both together and I cannot wait for Shane and Ruthie's story next! Yayyyy!!
(In the meantime, I'm going to go back and read the first two books hehe ❤️😍).

im back! and let’s just say this book was a 10/10 because im writing a review
i’d like to start out and say that the first book that I read of the series is still my favorite, but this book will definitely take a second. I’m probably not gonna read the rest of the series and that’s perfectly okay just because it does struggle a little bit I do get caught up in the middle of it. Overall the story was great and I just love the chemistry between the two characters
The FMC was great in my opinion I understand her reasonings on hesitation, and while she hesitated, she didn’t hesitate too long, so it really kind of like built the tension between the two
The MMC was also amazing. He really showed character, and he really showed that he deeply cared, not only about her, but also his family.
Speaking of that, I love the found family of them in this story. It was just so good and it makes sense like it was shown in the other book I read, but still this one really just kinda went deep into that.
I will have to say there was a lot going on so sometimes I did get mad at the characters because they had so much going on with them, but I guess it makes sense for the plot
But overall, this book was so good and I loved it. It really was heartfelt and I enjoyed it.

Mira and Daniel’s book is the third in the Finding You series by Angela Casella, but it was my first read. I like going in cold to things because it informs whether a standalone is a true standalone or if the reader is missing important details from previous volumes. In this case, it’s very easy to step directly into this world of tight friendships and complicated strong characters.
Initially Mira comes off as difficult to like: Danny immediately reflects on her hotness while being negatively affected by the manner in which he’s pushed far beyond his comfort zone as she forces interactions with him that he’d much rather avoid. Shortly into the book it’s revealed he is most likely a highly functioning, neurodivergent tech wiz who has sensitivity to certain sounds, social situations, etc. which engenders empathy from this reader, in particular. He’s super yummy in an espresso-eyed Clark Kentesque way.
Mira becomes far more endearing as she adjusts her approach to Danny, and the reader can settle in and enjoy the ride. There is no lack of heat to their chemistry.
There’s a bit of a mystery, and an ex BF of Mira’s who’s attempted to attack her psychically, it’s a whole thing, but it’s done in a humorous way.
Lastly, their friend groups are loyal and integral to their development as a would be couple, and the entire thing is a fun ride I can highly recommend.
I received an advance reader copy from the author and booksprout, and I’m pleased to leave my honest review.

You’re so Basic is the third book in the Finding You series by Angela Casella and even though I haven’t read the first two books, I thoroughly enjoyed this story (and I’m now planning on going back to read the first two and I can’t wait for number 4!)

Mira and Danny couldn’t be more different if they tried but it’s true what they say: opposites attract.
I was completely here for the forced proximity and watching Danny fall first, even though Mira was so different to him. Their chemistry and banter was so good and I couldn’t help laughing and smiling for most of the story.
I also appreciated the air of mystery and suspense that was added, and loved the shock of how that all played out!
I really enjoyed the friendship group and I’m super keen to go back to see how the other couples came together. Especially Burke and Delia. But I also can’t wait for Ruthie and Shane’s story!

Overall I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend if you enjoy:
*Forced Proximity
*He falls first
*Opposites Attract
*Found family
*Fall/Thanksgiving/Holiday vibes
*Secondary mystery/suspense storyline

Enjoyment level: 4.5 ⭐
Plot: 5 ⭐
Characters: 4 ⭐
Spice: 🌶️

Ok. So to start, I found this one a bit boring, but I think that was almost deliberate. Danny is a slow burn interesting character. You start of knowing very little about him, but the more you know the more complex he is and the more invested I got. I also love a good bit of autistic rep.

Mira, I didn't love as much as the previous fmc's. She is a lot of fun, but I think because of the broken ankle, you don't really see her out in her 'natural habitat' and so you always got a sort of tempered version of her. I would have loved to have seen her back at work before the end, but she is still fun.

What is it with these characters all having shit parents???

The side characters are less present in this book, there is a bit of them, mostly Delia and Shane. Then you also meet Ruthie who I really like. However, the plot in this one seems more detailed. There is a growing base plot that runs throughout the series and its getting pretty interesting! I'm hoping it turns into something good in the last book!

Josie is a nut! But all in all, in the end, the romance between Danny and Mira was lovely and the growth in Danny was great. I just would have liked a bit more side characters and humour to match the previous books!

Angela’s writing and storytelling just keep getting better and better. The characters have depth and layers. I become so invested in them that I feel like I’m one of their friends. This book really has it all; witty, sassy banter; spicy, sexy times; tender, sweet moments, with a little bit of mystery and intrigue.

Mira and Danny are complete opposites, but they actually make perfect sense together. Danny is the quiet, introvert of the group and has pretty much kept to himself through the series. He likes structure, routine and quiet and gets overwhelmed with crowds and loud noises. Mira is outgoing, bold and loud. Mira sneaks past Danny’s defenses and peels the layers of him back, getting to know the man he is underneath it all. And I absolutely loved watching Danny come out of his shell with her. I loved that Mira accepts Danny the way he is and supports him. And Danny had me swooning!

There are some surprises about Danny that I didn’t see coming. I loved his relationship with his sister and niece. I couldn’t get enough of this book. All of the previous series characters make appearances and add to the fun. I recommend reading the first two books in the series first as there is an underlying storyline throughout the series. Plus, they are just fantastic books as well. I can’t wait for the next book!!

I absolutely loved this book! I have to admit when I first learned about Danny's book I wasn't super excited by it. He didn't seem like a character worthy of his own book, but boy did Angela prove me wrong! I seriously think this might have been my favorite book that she's written to date.

Danny and Mira are complete opposites. She like's for everything to be 'loud' while Danny much prefers quiet and solitude. Now they've 'forced' together as roommates who need to figure out how to tolerate each other. Once they get stuck in an elevator together?? You're going to want to get ready to get your swoon on. I also really enjoyed the more mystery feel of this book.

This book will definitely have you laughing, sighing, and swooning along. It's the perfect read for the fall season...or really any season at all! Thanks Angela for making me fall in love with a character that I wasn't really sure I'd end up enjoying! **Could be read as a standalone, but would definitely recommend that you read the previous 2 books first.**

So this series has been so much fun, and I'm so glad I've found Angela's stories.
I knew I would love Mira from the bits we've gotten of her in earlier books, and I was not wrong. I didn't know where I was going to go with Danny, but I should've known Angela would write another book boyfriend I wanted all for myself by the end. 🥰🥵
Danny might be quiet and reserved, not good with change or new people, and like his routine more than anything else, but that man had some fierce protector/cinnamon roll/dirty talking vibes I was NOT expecting. And I was right here for all of it!
And Mira was the perfect balance to him. Neither one was interested in changing the other, they both learned how to be the best versions of themselves while accommodating for what the other needed, and isn't that just the healthiest way to approach any relationship?

I always love the little mystery/intrigue elements that weave their way through these series.
And then there's Josie. Josie is just wonderful and I love every time she pops up in each of these stories, adding some levity and whimsy.
And the banter is always top notch in Angela's writing. I'm a h0 for good banter, and these characters have it in spades.

Get this book now if you want great banter, character development, side characters, intrigue, spice, and to get even more excited for the final book in this series.
I've been dying for Shane's story, and I LOVE that it's going to be with Ruthie, Danny's younger sister who is a single mom.

You don't have to read the earlier books to read this one, but I would recommend it to get the full context of all the side characters/couples. Plus, those books are great, too, so why deprive yourself of more good books? 😉.

This was so cute! I hadn't read the first two books in the series, but I was easily able to jump right into the mix. I love forced proximity and the whole roommates situation, so this was right up my alley.

The romance between Danny and Mira may have appeared unlikely, but opposites attract and they came together like the perfect cocktail. Iykyk 🥰 It was very sweet the way they both knew just how to care for each other. I really appreciated Danny's differences, his internal dialogue, and the fact that they only made Mira love him more.

You're So Basic is a rom com, with a bit of a mystery mixed in that stirred things up, with Josie the psychic, the nosy neighbor and the woman in the window across the street. The loyal friendships each had were ones that anyone would wish for, and I enjoyed the parts with everyone together!

I'm really intrigued by Shane ❤️ so I'll definitely be reading the next book to see how he fairs with his enemy Ruthie!

I received an ARC in exchange for my review.

This series keeps getting better and better.

I loved Mira and Danny. Danny was completely unexpected and I loved that about him.

Mira and Danny were perfect for each other. The banter, love, chemistry was spot on. There was some mystery going on and I loved the psychic aspect of it as well.

Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed the developement of this relationship. It felt so real!
It’s a rom com, so of course you know you can count on the happy ending, but this one is a kind of slow burn with more realistic threads than is usual I think.

We have met both Mira and Danny as side characters earlier in the series, and I really like all the reconnecting with other well known characters.

Danny fights old insecurities while Mira, who is stuck with a cast on her leg, has a lot of time to think and ponder stuff that she hasn’t really bothered to dive into previously. Still I think they are both quite brave in their budding relationship.

As usual there is more than just romance going on and I laugh out loud at some things. It’s a lovely read.

Book 3 in the series delves into the relationship between Mira and Danny and injects a bit of mystery, too! Mira and Danny are polar opposites who find themselves living in the same apartment and *spoiler* liking each other much more than they had anticipated they would. Danny has been single for a while and his former girlfriend called him basic. Mira is much more outgoing, lively, and stubborn. She literally falls for Danny and discovers that accepting his help is okay. Together they find themselves in the middle of a mystery surrounding Danny. I loved that all of the characters came together again in this installment. I always love having Josie pop up in Angela's stories. And this is the perfect time of year to read this story with its fall and Thanksgiving setting. Well done!.

If you’ve been reading the series, you’re quite familiar with Mira and Danny. Mira is Delia’s sister and she runs a really loud fun bar called Glitterati. Danny is a computer geek and lives in Burke’s apartment for free. Situations beyond their control have made them roommates and you can just let your mind wander from there. Danny is an odd duck, but his no filter comments and quirkiness are actually quite attractive. Mira is his exact opposite but the way she looks after him is really sweet. You’ll find the other characters in the story are just as lovable, including their friends and family maybe even a little hamster. Read the other stories in the series are not required, but certainly worth all the laughs and connections. I was able to read an early copy and am pleased to leave my honest review.
